Daffanka
Rua getting beat down puts a slight damper on my otherwise cheery mood that Thompson/Pudzianowski brought on. Other than some of the old Sapp K-1 fights it was probably the most hilarious I've seen.

brashleyholland
That ending was brutal. Rua is still down! He's ok now. Well, I say ok, he's smashed up, knee has a baseball sized haematoma on it, but he's in good spirits. Shogun seems more upset than he does. They're on the rum now though so I'm sure they'll cheer up! :-p
brashleyholland
That is so legit Brashley What do you do there if I may ask? Press. Was us drinking till 4am last night with BAMMA's Dana White, all of a sudden I get upgraded to the VIP section. Good times. Goldie, the lanky one from The Inbetweeners, the band Revoker, some dude from Dr Who (Noel somebody?)....oh, and CUBA GOODING F'ING JR all sat with me! :-p

How's he defensive grappling, especially his Takedown Defense, particularly his sprawl? If he could have stopped the TD, or get back up, Trigg would have been a whole lot of trouble. ampulator
Speaking of fighters so far past their prime that they couldn't see it with a telescope: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L59zbBsxnzY It's not just Lindland is past his prime. It might be that, but it's more due to fact that his wrestling is just not good enough these days. Fighters these days are much of athletes than a guy like LIndland is. He had enough wrestling back then, but nowadays, his style of wrestling is just not good enough. Plus, his chin is pretty much gone. It wasn't that good in the first place, but he these days, he defnitely can't recover from the shots. I think any good striker that had good takedown defense, kept their distance, would KO him. Plus, the guy he was fight was 22-4-2 going into the fight. Even a prime Lindland would have likely lost to this guy.

Yeah, Khalidov is a sick, sick fighter...I had him in my top 10 a MW a while back, after the Santiago win. Dropped him after the rematch and the draw with Sakurai, but he's still top 15 easy in my eyes. They're working on getting him in for the next season of Bellator, but he has issues with Ramadan (the Muslim month of fasting) falling just before the tourney would begin, which would obviously rule him out. Hopefully they'll hook him up with a supeerfight, or Zuffa will take notice, because he's wasted on the likes of Irvin and Lindland.

Honestly speaking, I didn't see Trigg standing up anyway - it would have been a stupid move on his part. Everyone knows, unfortunately, that a lot of MMA fights from Britain lack a good grappling base, and definitely a good wrestling base. He ended the fight quickly and smartly. In any case, hasn't Josh Barnett adapted his catch wrestling to MMA? For what it's worth, it's better than having no wrestling at all. http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b174/brashleyholland/bradthevoice.jpg My life is now complete. That's pretty cool.
