Who is John Lions?

That is the question on everyone's lips. When everyone thought that the war for dominance in Australian wrestling could not get any more intense, a new promotion springs up; in this case, Kingdom Championship Class Wrestling.

On December 28th, 2009, "Kingdom Championship Class Wrestling" and "KCCW" were both trademarked by an unknown buyer. Both Australian Pro Wrestling and Revolution Australian Wrestling suspected that their counterpart did the deed, so accusations and rumors spread like wildfire. For three days, the top two wrestling promotions of Australia were in turmoil. December 31st, the domain name http://www.kccw.com was purchased, and both Tristam Day and James McMinister looked on with baited breath as each expected their rival had made a huge move that would upset the balance of power between the upper echelon of Australian wrestling.

Both were wrong. Kingdom Championship Class Wrestling was not a developmental territory for APW, nor a second brand for RAW. KCCW was revealed as just another competitor in the booming realm of Australian wrestling. Relieved, and understandably intrigued, both owners had the cryptic website was traced back to one John Lions, a young American businessman who currently resides in Canberra. The reporters here at TEW.com were unable to reach John Lions, and any other knowledge about the youth is a mystery.

So. Who is John Lions? Our staff were able to ask the opinions of the current leaders in the close race of Australian dominance:

"He's taking a knife to a gunfight," says Tristam Day, RAW owner. "I don't care who he is, he doesn't have the experience or the resources to make any sort of impact on Australian wrestling."

"The force is strong with this one." Was the cryptic comment given by the eccentric ZEN "master" Halloween Knight.

"I don't give a **** who he is," says the Comedian, owner of DIW, "If he's gunning for those ****s up in APW, then I'd love to take him out to the bar sometime. Drinks on me!"

James J. McMinister, APW, was unavailable for comment.

Throughout all the uncertainties, one thing is for sure: this will not be the last we hear of Kingdom Championship Class Wrestling, or John Lions.

John Lions smiled grimly to himself as he read the article. All of this would help boost the popularity of KCCW, but it wouldn't last - he had no money, and the only sponsors he could get and still remain under the radar weren't exactly the cream of the crop. On January 27th, Kingdom Championship Class Wrestling will hold it's inaugural event, Genesis at Marv's Sports Center! The best and the brightest stars of the indies will be in action, though only one can walk away as the KCCW World Heavyweight Champion.

Both relatively unknown entities, Lance Lott is well known among the independent circuit as being the most courteous, classy wrestler in the squared circle. Warren Lydecker, on the other hand, is known as being a degenerate, banned from ever attending any APW, ZEN, or RAW shows due to his lousy attitude. In the battle of good versus evil, who will end up victorious?

While the first match on the card fits the archetype of good versus evil, this one is a true underdog story. Reed Buckfield, nicknamed 'Rocket' due to his high-risk, high-velocity style, is in for a challenge, as he takes on the 6'3, 315 pound wrecking machine known only as Mercenary. Can Reed pull out an upset, or will the man known only by his profession dominate?

Six Way Elimination Match for the KCCW World Heavyweight Championship:

The main event of the evening, the six best wrestlers you haven't heard about square off to decide who will be the first man to carry gold in KCCW. You may have heard of Nicky Gilbert, Rod Sullivan, Rusty Mills, or Donovan Boon; all four are better known as tag wrestlers. Gilbert and Sullivan make up the Next Big Things, while Mills and Boon make up The Duo. In a singles environment, it is unknown if the pairs will be able to hold tight to their alliances, or if it will be every man for himself. Frankie Robertson, known for his fireplug-like brawling, has been impressing on his run through the indies, and Kenny Poulter is a completely unknown wildcard pick. This match can go any way, but only one will reach the top of the mountain.

To start the match, Lance offers a handshake; instead of taking it, Warren spits on Lance’s hand. Unperturbed, Lance takes Warren out with a big clothesline! Lott’s control of the match is cut off early by Warren, though, who comes out on top while exchanging punches (Warren noticeably using a closed fist). Warren lights Lott up with stiff chops to the chest and a back suplex, picking up a close two count. From that point on, Warren seems to have the match won, irish whipping Lott into a corner and preparing for his running High Knee finisher. When he goes for it, Lott dodges out of the way and bounces off the ropes, hitting the surprised Warren with a Charging Star (Running Shoulder Block) as he stumbled backwards! That is enough to give Lott the win in the first match of KCCW. After the win, Lance Lott tries to help his downed opponent up, but Warren refuses, shoving Lott to the side and leaving the ring of his own accord.

“Exactly. Mac Guffin, I don’t care if you got Tommy Cornell, the Wizard of New Zealand, and Swoop ****ing McCarthy to wrestle for you. We are the Next Big Things, and we are the best tag team, the best wrestlers, and will be the best champions in this company.”

The menacing, physically impressive Mercenary dwarfs Reed by nearly a foot. Despite a valiant effort from Reed, Mercenary just demolishes the young cruiserweight. Every time Reed managed to get a couple of springboard attacks on Mercenary, they were just shrugged off. Reed was able to get the crowd behind him, though, and each comeback lasted a little while longer. However, after a vicious Big Boot that nearly took his head off, Reed was down for the count.

“Really, Rusty?” Donovan turns to Mills, who looks surprised at his partner’s intensity. “How do I know you aren’t just playing me right now, that you’re working for Guffin and will just screw me in the end?”

“Come on, Donny, you know me better than-“

“Don’t call me Donny. My name is Donovan, and I’m here to win the World Heavyweight Championship. We may have been partners, once. We may have been on our way to the top. But there is nothing for us to win here. Every single one of us is fighting for ourselves. I’m tired of carrying your weight around, Rusty, and I’m not about to fall for your ploy just to see you win the championship for yourself.”

Donovan continues to stare Rusty down as Mills is still in a daze over Boon’s sudden turn, as the other four competitors begin to enter the arena for the title match…

To start the match, it was every man for himself, excluding the duo of Gilbert and Sullivan. Rusty Mills kept attempting to form a team with Donovan by attempting to make any offensive move Boon did a tandem one. Boon kept denying him, still suspicious of his former partner. Outside of the ring, Frankie Robertson and Kenny Poulter were squaring off, with Robertson’s stiff forearm shots having the advantage for now. In the ring, Nicky and Rod were squared off with the former Duo of Rusty and Donovan. Playing on his insecurity, Boon agreed to form a temporary alliance with Mills, but Donovan showed his true colors by turning on his partner, planting him with the Boon Drop (Samoan Drop) to eliminate the first person from the match. ELIMINATION 1: RUSTY MILLS. The betrayal may have been a fool’s errand, though, as the Next Big Things used the 2-1 advantage to dominate Boon.

Seeing the duo’s dominance, the battling pair of Frankie Robertson and Kenny Poulter agreed to halt their fight to team up with Donovan: the uneasy pairing of the three remaining competitors proved too much for the tag team young guns. Frankie ended up hitting the Robertson Experience (Spike DDT) on Nicky Gilbert to take him out first (ELIMINATION 2: NICKY GILBERT) while Poulter hit a Spinning Neckbreaker on Rod Sullivan to eliminate him directly after (ELIMINATION 3: ROD SULLIVAN). From then on, it was a three man war, with all three hitting their signature moves for close two counts. It was any man’s game until Donovan Boon became distracted as his partner finally got up after taking a Boon Drop: while Rusty was staring him down, Robertson was able to creep up on him and drop him with the Robertson Experience. (ELIMINATION 4: DONOVAN BOON)

During this time, Mac Guffin was impartial as he called the match, not revealing who he had chosen as his client. For two minutes, the two men waged war on each other, Frankie battering Poulter with a series of elbows and snap suplexes. Kenny Poulter is able to power out of an attempted Robertson Experience and hit a Northern Light’s Suplex for an incredibly close two count. Poulter is reinvigorated by the near fall; As Frankie groggily gets to his feet, he goes for a clothesline, but Frankie pulls the ref in front of him, who is hit instead! With the ref down, Mac Guffin relieves himself from his announcing duties, rolling into the ring to mercilessly drill Poulter with his cane! He raises Frankie’s hand in victory, mouthing “Champion!” as he hops down off the apron, the damage done. Frankie hits the Robertson Experience and the down Poulter loses to a slow three count (ELIMINATION 5: KENNY POULTER), making Frankie Roberson the first KCCW World Heavyweight Champion!

However, he is in for a big challenge at Land of Confusion: Pat Rigsby is known for his grappling prowess, nicknamed 'Piledriver' for his devastating Stuff Piledriver. According to Rigsby, Lott doesn't stand a chance: "I didn't see Lance Lott deliver any piledrivers at Genesis," said Rigsby, "and he thinks he can beat me? I am a legally licensed Piledriver, and have been since I was 8 years old. He showed his true colors, though, when the 'Champion Consultant' Mac Guffin whacked his cane on the back of Kenny Poulter's head, giving Robertson a questionable victory for the KCCW title. Being the last man remaining, Poulter was given the first chance at Robertson's title. With Guffin in his corner, though, will Poulter make Frankie a transitional champion? Mac Guffin doesn't think so. "If a white boy with dreadlocks can beat my champion," says Guffin, "I will move to Tibet and become a Buddhist monk." Guffin is fairly confident, but Poulter was impressive in his performance in January. Frankie heads out from the back title on his shoulder, as his manager applauds. Robertson hands the title to Guffin, who holds it high over his head as the crowd boos.

“Tonight, the champion will defend against the man who lasted longest against him, Kenny Poulter.” Frankie frowns at this. “How’s your head, by the way, Kenny? Anyway, there are still a good deal of competitors out there, waiting to take this belt. So I’ve had to hire a little extra help. Introducing, ’Psycho’ Joe Zucco!”

Rusty Mills vs ‘Psycho’ Joe Zucco

Rusty Mills is still upset over his falling out with Donovan, and seems to be using his anger as fuel for beating Zucco to a pulp. Mills dominates Zucco with some catch wrestling, and though Zucco does have an amateur background and the two are able to work fairly well with each other. On their feet, Zucco is still outclassed, but his eccentric style doesn’t leave Mills unharmed – rather than using his fists, Zucco prefers to use his head, hitting a couple of vicious headbutts into Mills’ chest. Mills manages to catch Joe’s head after figuring out his one-dimensional offense, though, and hit him with a snap suplex. Heading to the top rope, Mills seems to be motioning for Zucco to get up, but Zucco instead rolls out of the ring, grabbing a chair! Completely ignoring the referee, Zucco brains Rusty, dropping him dead! The bell is rung, and Mills wins, though he doesn’t know it. Placing the chair on Rusty’s head, Zucco heads up top, flying off with a Flying Headbutt to the steel chair as Guffin looks on with a huge grin! The bleeding Zucco is screaming wildly as he holds the bloody chair in the air – apparently, he doesn’t seem to care whether he wins or loses, only that he injures his opponent (or himself).

Donovan Boon heads out from the back with a mic

Boon glances down at the unconscious Rusty, who is bleeding from his forehead.

“It’s a shame you can’t hear me right now, Rusty, but I’m sure someone will let you know after you… wake up.” Donovan grins at this, though the crowd isn’t as amused as he.

“Maybe you would have been better off signing up with Guffin while you had the chance, but I never really expected you to turn on me. You always were so trusting and naive, and that is what held you back. Until last month, that is what held me back, too. Until I used Mr. Guffin's attempt to cause dissension between us to cut you loose, Mills.”

Donovan grimaces. “But, at the behest of the wise, intelligent booking staff, rather than giving me, that man who lasted the second longest in the elimination match a title shot, we will be teaming up again. Next month, at Puppet Show, it’ll be the Duo versus the Next Big Things, with the winning team getting a title shot at Trail of Lies. I don’t want to work with you again, Rusty, but I will if I must. There will be hell to pay, Rusty, if you keep me from the top.”

Donovan spits in Rusty’s face before the staff in the back can carry him from the ring, sending a message to his former friend.

Lance Lott vs ‘Piledriver’ Pat Rigsby

Lance Lott comes out alone, earning a few cheers as he makes sure to shake hands with every fan in attendance. Pat Rigsby, however, comes out accompanied by Warren Lydecker. Regardless, Lott still offers Rigsby a handshake, and he takes it – only to pull him in close and hit him with a belly-to-belly suplex! Rigsby lifts Lott up, hitting an impressive double underhook piledriver for a close two count! Grabbing Lott by his hair and lifting him up again, hits him with another piledriver, this time a standard variation, but is still unable to keep down the White Knight of KCCW for a three count! Rigsby, frustrated, again pulls Lott to his feet by his hair and goes to irish whip him into the turnbuckle. Lott, seeing his first offense of the match, reverses it, sending Rigsby into the corner instead. Charging at Pat with a running knee, Lott grabs Rigsby and hits a running bulldog out of the corner! Lott covers, but the ref is distracted, arguing with Warren Lydecker who is standing on the apron. Rather than attack Warren, Lott stands up and asks Lydecker nicely to please allow the official to continue calling the match, which Lydecker ignores. Lott was about to ask again until he noticed Rigsby getting to his feet, so he excused himself, bouncing off the ropes and hitting the Charging Star! The ref saw the whole thing, so he made sure to count the three and give the win to Lance Lott!

Rod Sullivan vs Mercenary

Rod Sullivan, noticeably alone, gave a much more competitive fight than Reed did last month. Despite the size difference, Rod attempted to go punch-for-punch with Mercenary, and predictably ended up being knocked from his feet by a wicked right hand! Grabbing Rod like a rag doll, Mercenary threw him into one of the corners, hitting with such force that he nearly bounced back into Mercenary’s waiting grasp. Mercenary followed through with the next two corners, but, at the forth, rather than bounce off the corner, Rod grabbed and held onto the ropes. As Mercenary moved towards him, Rod hopped onto the top rope with surprising agility, managing to jump high enough to hit a leg lariat on Mercenary and take him down for the first time!

Rod’s counter was merely a last ditch effort to save himself, though, and he isn’t able to capitalize. Heading to the top rope again, his back keeps him from being quick enough, and an attempted moonsault only met canvas as Mercenary rolled away. Rod, getting to his feet slowly, is unaware that Mercenary is waiting for him with an evil look in his eye. Mercenary charged at Rod, going for the Big Boot, but Rod dodged it, leaving Mercenary caught up in the ropes by his foot! Sullivan followed through with a springboard dropkick, knocking the big man out of the ring. Strangely, Mac Guffin came from the announce table and helped him up, gesturing to Rod as Rod glared at both men. Sullivan went for a suicide dive on the pair, but Mercenary caught him, lifting him into a military press position and slamming him against the ring post! After rolling him back in the ring, Rod attempted to valiantly get to his feet again, but a stiff Big Boot ended any hope for the young gun, brutal enough that it looked like it may have knocked a couple teeth from Sullivan’s mouth.

Mac Guffin rolls into the ring, taking out a wad of cash and handing it to the monstrous Mercenary.

“Now, now, I know what you’re thinking, ‘why did Mac Guffin pay off the big guy to take out Rod Sullivan? He’s my favorite wrestler!’ As a matter of fact, he happen to be my favorite wrestler too, but I’m a manager first and a fan second. With Roddy boy needing to book a trip to the dentist AND the chiropractor, and Mr. Mills still bleeding like a stuck pig, how can they be a real threat to my champion, two months from now?”

Mercenary fidgets, and Guffin takes notice. “What, boy, you want to hurt him some more?” Mercenary nods. “Be my guest, though I’m not paying you any extra.” The big man lifts Rod Sullivan into the air by his throat, dropping him with a huge chokebomb! Mac chuckles, heading back to ringside as Frankie Robertson heads out the ring for the championship match, nodding to Mercenary (who doesn’t react at all).

KCCW WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP: Kenny Poulter vs Frankie Robertson ©

Kenny Poulter, having been robbed of the title last month in his eyes, tears into Frankie as soon as the bell rings, blitzing him with a couple of punches and dropping him with a backbreaker. Kenny immediately locks on a surfboard submission, though Robertson holds out until Poulter gives up. Poulter transitions to an abdominal stretch, which also doesn’t work, but succeeds in working over the champion’s body. Poulter attempts to lock in another surfboard, but Robertson is having none of it; he rolls over, kicking away Poulter and getting to his feet. After checking to see that Poulter didn’t do any serious damage to his back, the champion turns on the high gear.

Poulter’s stand up is noticeably lacking; his initial flurry worked well against an unsuspecting opponent, but Kenny’s punches were no match for the stiff elbows that Frankie laid into his face. A side slam gets a two count, and as Kenny gets to his feet, he bounces off the ropes with a running elbow strike. Another two count, and Frankie looks to finish it with the Robertson Experience, but Kenny does the same as last month, reversing into a Northern Lights Suplex! Robertson kicks out, though, so Kenny heads up to the second rope. He may have been heading to the top, but the ref, while checking on Robertson, doesn’t notice Mac Guffin take his cane and trip up Poulter, taking his legs out from under him and tying him up in the ropes, leaving his head dangling outward! Frankie, who by this point had gotten to his feet, takes Kenny’s head and plants him with the Robertson Experience, picking up a win, albeit under questionable circumstances.

The two competitors manage to start their match before Mac Guffin can start of the show for them. ‘Rocket’ Reed Buckfield heads out for his match with an astronaut’s helmet on his head, but the referee forces him to remove it to start the match. Despite the boos from the crowd, the ‘Rocket’ still waves and smiles to the crowd, until his opponent heads out. Lydecker isn’t having any of Reed’s happy-going attitude, hitting him with a Lou Thezs Press as soon as the bell rings and drilling him with hard punches. The ref forces Warren off of the prone astronaut when he notices him using closed fists; rather than accept the decision and continue wrestling, he opts to argue with the official. This lets Reed get to his feet, who heads up to the top rope and hits a beautiful hurracanrana on him! He only gets a two count, but Reed is riding his new found momentum, going up top again and pointing to the sky to signal for the end. Reed dives off with a jaw-dropping senton, aptly named the Apollo 180! Lydecker is aware of this though, and manages to put his knees up, so Reed takes the brunt of the damage from his high flying assault! Both opponents get to their feet at the same time, but it is Warren who capitalizes, bouncing off the ropes and hitting a vicious clothesline he calls the Lydecker Lariat to pick up the win.

As Reed, ever the good sport, danced to the back as he retrieved his astronaut helmet from the ref, Warren stayed, grabbing a microphone.

“Lance Lott, you defeated me at Genesis. I know now I was wrong for not accepting your handshake and fighting honorably, but it took a while for me to learn the error of my ways. Could you come out here, please, so we can settle this like men and put our differences behind us?”

Lance Lott heads out from the back, but no sooner does he show up than Pat Rigsby appears, ambushing the noble warrior!

Rigsby and Lott get into a fistfight, and, as Lott begins to get the upper hand, Warren Lydecker slides out of the ring and takes out Lott with a stiff haymaker to the back of the neck! The duo take Lott into the ring, rolling him in, and Rigsby plants him with a Stuff Piledriver! The downed Lott holds his head in pain, writhing on the mat; Warren leans down to offer a mocking handshake to him, but, with their attention wholly on Lance, they don’t see Kenny Poulter running out to make the save!

Poulter hops onto the top rope, nailing Rigsby with a missile dropkick and booting him out of the ring! As Warren turns from Lott, Poulter nails him with the Holy Grail, his Spinning Neckbreaker! Thoroughly routed, the heels retreat, as Poulter helps Lott up to his feet.

“Lancey boy, you’ve been undefeated so far, despite your naive attempts at chivalry putting you on the wrong side of a fist on many occasions. So, to congratulate you, I’m booking a special match, right here tonight! Lance Lott versus Frankie Robertson for the KCCW World Heavyweight Championship, and that match is right now!”

Poulter stares daggers at Guffin as he is forced from the ring by the referee, and Frankie Robertson, title on his shoulder, hits the ring for his match!

Lance Lott, with Kenny Poulter at ringside, is dominated early by Frankie, who arrogantly drops him with an elbow to the side of the head, and waits as he gets to his feet. The cycle goes on for three elbows, until Lance is able to counter the fourth, hitting him back with an elbow of his own! That is about the extent of Lance’s offense, though, as Frankie just shrugs off the assault from the fatigued knight and bounces off the ropes, hitting a flying elbow strike. This only gets a two count, so Frankie begins drilling Lance’s head with elbows, eventually busting him open! Frankie lifts the defeated Lott to his feet and grabs his head for the Robertson Experience to finish off the match. At the last moment, Lance powers out with his final ounce of strength, backing up a couple steps before running at Robertson for the Charging Star! Lance is noticeably slower than usual, though, so Frankie has the time and stamina to catch Lott by the head and drop him with the Robertson Experience, retaining in a dominant showing.

Rusty Mills, his head bandaged up, merely glares at his one time partner.

“I’ve earned this opportunity, Rusty, and I’m not going to let you cost me. Just let me do the wrestling, and I can finally get my chance at gold. I can finally reach my destiny.”

“You know, Donny,” Rusty replied, startling Donovan out of his daydreaming of glory, “I’ll be in that match too.”

Donovan laughs. “You? You’re a nobody, Rusty Mills. A loser. How many matches have you won on your own?”

Rusty turns to glare Donovan Boon down. “How many have you won?” He retorts.

“LET’S GET PSYCHOOOOOO!” The argument between the two is stopped short before it can come to blows, as Joe Zucco comes running from the back, chair in hand! However, the fact that he was screaming gave the Duo a warning of his attack, and they did a synchronized dropkick into the chair, knocking Zucco down! The two look at each other and grudgingly nod as their opponents came out for their match.

To start the match, Rusty Mills, whose face is bandaged and Rod Sullivan, whose ribs and back are bandaged, both stay on the apron for their respective teams. The crowd is firmly behind Nicky as he squares off with Donovan, and a quick roll up scores an early two count. Incensed, Donovan hits chop block after bouncing up from the pinfall attempt, nailing the unsuspecting Gilbert and bringing him to the ground. A trifecta of leg drops only scores a two count, so Donovan Irish whips Nicky into his corner. After Donovan scores with a corner tackle, Rusty tags himself in, slapping his partner on the back! Donovan, glaring at Rusty, steps out reluctantly, and Mills begins lifting Gilbert up on the corner post for a superplex. As he is lifted to the top, Nicky begins fighting for his life, and manages to throw Rusty off the top rope into the ring. Not wanting to give up the advantage, Donovan crotches Nicky on the ropes. Before Gilbert reaches the mat, though, Rod Sullivan hops over the ropes and runs at Donovan, clotheslining him off the apron!

“Let’s keep this match ordered, shall we?”

Mac Guffin, along with his clients, ‘Psycho’ Joe Zucco and Frankie Robertson, and the man-for-hire Mercenary surround the ring, bodily forcing Donovan back up onto the apron! “We’ll make sure this match doesn’t get out of hand. Ref, do your job and get some order in there!” The makeshift lumberjacks each take a side, and the match is essentially restarted, with Rod returned to the apron and both Nicky and Rusty brought to the center of the ring, where they began circling each other. They go for a test of strength, which Rusty wins, hitting Nicky with a scoop slam for a two count. Rusty moves from corner to corner, getting the crowd excited and giving Nicky the chance to get back to his feet. Meanwhile, ‘Psycho’ Joe attempts to take the chair he brought into the ring and bash someone’s head, but he is stopped short by Guffin. The two favorites go for a lock up again, but this time it is Nicky who gets the upper hand, managing to hit a Fisherman’s Suplex out of nowhere! Exhausted, Nicky crawls to his corner, tagging Rod Sullivan into the match! Rod climbs onto the top rope, hitting a double foot stomp onto Rusty from the top. Pinning Rusty, he is about to get the win when Donovan breaks it up at two.

Nicky hits a springboard lariat from the apron to take Donovan down, but, before he can do any more damage to Boon, he is pulled out of the ring! Frankie Robertson is the perpetrator, who hits him with the Robertson Experience onto the floor and taking him out of the match. Guffin, finally releasing the maniac Zucco from behind his cane, drags the groggy Donovan from the ring, allowing Zucco to brain him with the chair! Guffin grins, poking Donovan with his cane as Zucco places his chair on Donovan’s face, hitting a vicious headbutt onto him! Laughing maniacally at this point, Guffin restrains him from doing any more damage to Donovan (and himself) mouthing that it’s better for ‘the spirit of competition.’ In the ring, Rod Sullivan heads to the top, preparing to hit his Rolling Rod Knee (Somersault Knee Drop), but Mercenary steps onto the apron, glaring at him and holding his attention! I'm liking this. I wouldn't go rushing through the shows too fast though - always give yourself an unposted show or two to fall back on.

Thanks for the kind words, it's always nice to see more people giving feedback after a couple of shows. Don't worry about me burning myself out, I have two more shows already written up and most of the main storylines mapped out for the rest of the year.

That was definitely my favorite main event by far: everything just seemed to fall into place as I was writing it, so I was very pleased by how it came out in the end.

Kenny Poulter upset Lydecker's insidious plan to take out KCCW's resident hero, so there was no surprise when Lydecker asked for a chance to take him on. Poulter's been near the top since his debut, while Lydecker has only recently shown his upside by picking up a victory last month against Buckfield. With Lance Lott and 'Piledriver' Pat Rigsby both likely to be involved, will good triumph over evil, or will the match fall into chaos?

'Rocket' Reed Buckfield vs 'Psycho' Joe Zucco

'Rocket' Reed nearly picked up a big victory against Warren last month, but all was for naught. The 'Rocket', however, seems to care less about winning than dancing for the fans. On the flipside, 'Psycho' Joe doesn't care about winning at either: the only thing he seems to enjoy is causing pain in any way possible, usually illegally. We here at kccw.com attempted to reach Zucco and ask him how he feels his chances are, but the only response we received was undecipherable yelling. Our best of wishes go out to Shane Helms, a member of the KCCW staff, who has to receive 9 stitches after that fateful encounter.

Mercenary has been an unstoppable, unfeeling wrecking machine since debuting in KCCW. Not until Puppet Show did anyone suspect Mercenary had a mind of his own, but, after ardent denial from Mac Guffin, we here at kccw.com have been informed that Mercenary was not paid to distract Rod Sullivan in the tag match that night! Mercenary apparently seems to be out to get Rod, so Nicky has stepped in to face off with the monster one on one. Will Gilbert be the one to stop Mercenary, or will Gilbert find himself falling like all the rest?

Despite the circumstances, the Duo has earned their shot at Frankie Robertson tonight. Their win may work to the champion's advantage, though: while the Next Big Things would have worked as a team, Mills and Boon will only want to fight each other. Robertson also has Guffin in his corner, whose skillful managing has allowed Robertson to control who faces him and what condition they are in. Only one pinfall can finish the match, so it is just as likely for Boon or Mills to win as it is for Robertson. Can the Duo put aside their differences to take out the champion, or will their grudge keep them from the gold Donovan feels is in his 'destiny'?
