Now you're just trolling

Again..i misunderstood your intent. But that comment was easy to misunderstand.

I don't understand your POV. I don't hate rich athletes because they're rich. Your entire argument has been that you want athletes to not be mercenaries and not make as much money as possible? Or that possibly they should be more loyal to their home town?

Like i said: I don't think you know that much about the history of sports - specifically the history of sports here - because some of the things you said don't make sense in that context.

I'm sorry that upset you. But every time I (or anyone else) tried to talk about the logic or your argument your response is "blargh regular people do it too" which isn't really a justification because people don't buy tickets to go see regular people work.

So you unless your plan is to create some glorious utopia where all people are all paid exactly the same no matter what they do or their station in life or how much money their job generates, I can't see where you're coming from...

Sorry i don't share your POV

We talked about this same subject in my Microeconomics class the other day. Sure other people work very hard for their livings, but the teacher brought up a pretty good point. He probably puts close to the same number of hours in as Albert Pujols, but 50,000 people aren't going to pay 50 bucks to see him talk about elasticity.

While I believe many professions are underpaid, that's not the point here. These athletes are providing a high level of entertainment to a mass of people who highly demand it. The majority of events from the big four in America are sell-outs, or close to it in most cases with a few exceptions. If people stopped showing up, sure these athletes shouldn't get paid what they do. But as franchises continue to bring in huge dollars, and the players are what drive these franchises, it makes sense that they get their cut.

It's getting out of hand in here again. If it continues to do so then I'll just close the thread and warnings will be handed out to everyone involved. This is the second time this thread has been brought to my attention, so keep it civic or keep it off the forum completely.

Listen I will agree with the next person that Players make to much money. As long as people spend the money on tickets and merch. owners are going to continue to pay for them. So if you want players to make less, you tech. have a say in the matter. Boycott sports and owners wont have the money to spend on it......................lmao

OK..watched the Heat/Celtics again last night..

And I'm just incredibly unimpressed by Bosh the more I see him in big games. He's wilted fast and the Heat are getting HAMMERED on the interior. Instead of Jerry Stackhouse, they should've put in a call to Eric Dampier.

Even when Miller returns, I can't see them beating the Magic or the Celtics in a 7 game series. Maybe not even Atlanta.

Yeah I always found Bosh and LBJ on the same team to be a head-scratching combo. Neither plays physical defense to match their athleticism and the Heat already have a 4 to compliment their superstar players in Haslem, who is a solid role player who rebounds, plays good defense and can make open looks. They would still need a true center, but Bosh and LBJ is almost as useless a combination as LBJ and Jamison. There's only one ball.

Notice that Haslem's 33 minutes featured 9 of 10 shooting (all easy looks), 10 rebounds, and a +/- of +9 in a game the Heat lost by 5. Which means in the 15 minutes Haslem didn't play the Heat were outscored by 14.

The moral is: team-building shouldn't be based on friendship.
