I figured the best place for these alt was right here in the Re-render Thread since they came from here.

 

Here is an alt for Christopher Lister, that was originally done by jsilver, just in case anyone revived his Toby Juan Kanobi gimmick as a heel:

It's not much but I figured it was worth a try, given all of the great re-renders that have been made.

it's because all of those were done by one artist (sebsplex) for his GDSVerse mod, which had a very different look and background, before being put on the CV default.

I wont be redoing any of Sebs renders because I like the style he went with when doing them and I couldnt put that kind of quality on his work like he did, plus I think they look cool in TEW

I think it's really bloody rude that you've just come in here, **** on a renderer, and then listed an entire promotion's worth of people.

When did he **** all over anyone? All he said that was they look different than the rest of the renders in the game. Which is true. I didn't see him say anything bad

Honestly, I'm not sure if sebs even had a chance to re-do them before they were included, and the background he used was so dark that the lighting would've been really different.

 

That "style" also produced some of the best masked renders ever and that whole ZEN roster is wicked cool and makes me wish they were over enough to sign to my SWF game.

I have to agree with this statement. sebs renders are some of the best in the CornellVerse today (apart from some of the honed, 3 hour renders from the re-render thread). Also, it might be just me, but I like when there are tons of different styles present in the graphical department. Thats why I try to not to overwrite all of the old and different looking renders with too many of the same style (like taking only JSilvers).

It may not have been intentional. But suggesting the re-rendering of an entire group of renders - which are amongst the newest ones in the game and were all done by one single render artist - certainly doesn't reflect nicely on that artist. It would be like if I came in and suggested the re-rendering of a whole list of workers who have just been re-rendered by a given aritst like J Silver (just to pick on J, since I love his work). I might not intend that as an insult to J, but I would anyone blame him if he was insulted by that?

I was simply saying that Rathen was overreacting. I understand where you're coming from, but instead of flipping out on someone an explanation of why a certain group stand out would suffice.

i agree with what has been said by everyone except one individual who is just rude and has called me a spastic before because of an opinion i had that he or she didnt agree with.i just made a bit of an error in requesting lots of new renders by one person.as i said before i think that sebsplex's renders are fantastic.saying that maybe it is unfair to remake any renders for the cornellverse as it doesnt really matter how old the renders remaking them is saying they are not good enough.

 

all i wanted was a more traditional look like the old cornellverse renders.

It's not a request thread in the first place, so suggestions should probably be kept to pretty short lists, methinks.

 

Mind you, I say that; I only have one right now, and if I missed him in the photobucket, I apologise.

Okay- moving swiftly on, since there's nothing more to be said on the manners issue, I think it's worth pointing out that several ACPW re-renders have in fact already been done by one of the j's (either jhd1 or jtlant, I don't remember which) and can be found in the photobucket account.

 

Anyway, I've been looking through the game and I've identified a couple of other minor re-renders, to go with Brooke Tyler on the list of people that probably don't exactly need a new pic but it would be nice to have one.

 

Firstly, Saionji Omura. His current pic is good, but it'd be nice to have an aged version of his totally awesome 70's pic, if only for the sake of having another new pic.

 

Secondly, Sensational Ogiwara and Thunder Hike: their current renders are okay but look a little dated next to the newer alts, and given that they both see a lot of use I think it'd be nice for them to have an update.

 

Lastly, and this may have already been done, Shingen Miyazaki. Again, it's a case of 'good render, could use an update'. Shingen's an awesome character, and deserves an awesome pic to go with it.

I really disagree. This thread is basically built around making renders more appealing to certain people. There's no disrespect meant when someone asks for a re-render, or when someone creates a re-render.
