The final members of our new roster worked and or lived primarily in Canada. Now some may ask why we turned our eyes to the great country north of us, when we have talented young wrestlers here in the states that could use a break.

Well that would be a very valid question, and my answer is…well let me tell you why we hired so many Canadians. Initially, it was not my objective to hire so many Canadians. In fact, I only wanted to hire two young brothers from Boston to help bolster my tag team ranks.

I went to a local independent show in Brockton, Massachusetts when I came back to the States. On the card that night, there were two young men who absolutely wowed me with their athleticism. They were the Wilkes Brothers, Dutch and his younger brother Michael. After seeing them, I knew I had to meet them.

To my surprise, both brothers were fans of mine from my days in DAVE and they had also followed my career in Japan via the internet. I talked to these two young men for close to an hour. What I liked about them was their enthusiasm towards the sport, and their willingness to pick my brain.

Anyway, now two months after my encounter with the brothers, I was now in a position to work with them. And that was something that I looked forward to doing. I contacted the brothers and both were very interested in joining RIPW, as most of our shows would take place just an hour away from their home in Boston.

However, there were two major factors that were in the way of me hiring them. You see Dutch had become a bit of a star in 4C under the name of Duberry Express. In fact, he was one of the major stars of that promotion. His younger brother Michael was also working for 4C, all though he was nowhere near as established as Dutch. Both Michael and Dutch told me that if I could get permission from Troy Winner (the owner of 4C) they would both gladly come aboard.

The other factor was that Dutch was also currently working in SOTBPW under a mask as Demon Seed. So he had to clear it with SOTBPW’s owner Jorge Ibanez. While Dutch was waiting for Jorge’s okay, I headed up to Toronto to talk to Troy Winner.

great write up BHK, I am definately intrigued with the whole 4C Troy Winner Situation so needless to say I can't wait for your next write up.

Thank you Taker, I will probably post it tomorrow sometime (I already have it written but I am holding off because I do not have the card done yet.) and that will be it for the backstory.

I've been sleeping on this, I'll admit. I keep seeing a freakin' RIPW dynasty, which has some of my favorite guys in the US Cornellverse, and I tell myself I'll read it in a bit. Now that I've given it a read through, I'm thrilled that you're taking RIPW in a direction that'll make it different from any other US dynasty... rather than signing Jared Johnson (I know, he's awesome, but he's overused) and Hugh de Aske, you're going for the WILKES BROTHERS and Stuart Ferdinand! Don't worry about overusing the pictures for backstage stuff, I didn't notice anything wrong with it in the conversation between you and Nero.

Oh, and when are you going to reveal the remaining RIPW stars? Or did you just keep everyone who has an open contract instead of a developmental deal?

Whether you have Lassana Makutsi or not, I'll for sure be reading.

Thanks for reading John!

Yeah the developmental guys are all gone so I rebuilt the whole roster, which I will put up not in the next post but the post after that. I toyed with the idea of keeping some of the developmental talent, maybe they were fired by the SWF. However, at the end of the day I just created a new promotion to be the developmental promotion for the SWF and I put them all in there.

Are you open to requests for people to be hired. Because I know a certain Dusty Bin requires a job to feed lil'Bin.

That might be a tough one for me to do.:D I did have my fill of talentless hacks in my last diary (Land Mass and The Big Problem).:D

Oh Canada part II

The office of 4C was located in a small strip mall in Toronto. Not really the most impressive place to run a wrestling promotion out of, but I guess seeing how RIPW was run out of a house this might actually have been a step up. I walked into the 4C offices not really knowing what to expect. I was not sure if Troy would be willing to allow two of his young wrestlers the opportunity to come and work for me.

I sat in what I guess would be considered a lobby for a few minutes waiting for Troy. Finally, Troy came out of his office to greet me. Now for those of you who do not know Troy is a dwarf and that fact took a little getting used to as I had never really met a dwarf in all of my years on this earth. Troy asked me to come into his office.

Troy’s office was not all that impressive. He had one of those old fashion fold out T.V. dinner trays which served as his desk. On said tray was a rather old looking laptop computer. The rest of the office was filled with papers that were scattered all over the place. Finally, after getting settled in Troy began to speak.

<a href="http://s969.photobucket.com/albums/ae173/BHK1978/RIPW/?action=view&current=TroyWinner.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i969.photobucket.com/albums/ae173/BHK1978/RIPW/TroyWinner.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

Troy: Nice to meet ya Henry! I am a huge fan of your work. Yes...yes huge fan of your work!

<a href="http://s969.photobucket.com/albums/ae173/BHK1978/RIPW/?action=view&current=HenryLee_jhdBHK.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i969.photobucket.com/albums/ae173/BHK1978/RIPW/HenryLee_jhdBHK.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

Henry: Thank you very much Troy.

<a href="http://s969.photobucket.com/albums/ae173/BHK1978/RIPW/?action=view&current=TroyWinner.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i969.photobucket.com/albums/ae173/BHK1978/RIPW/TroyWinner.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

Troy: Okay now for the reason why you are here. I heard that you have an interest in two of my wrestlers.

[Henry nods his head, and Troy smiles.]

Troy (continued): Good…good, um okay well I have a weird request for you. May help you…may not help you but perhaps you will agree to it. Might work out for you…

[Henry has a perplexed look on his face as he was not sure why Troy‘s way of talking was so bizarre.]

<a href="http://s969.photobucket.com/albums/ae173/BHK1978/RIPW/?action=view&current=HenryLee_jhdBHK.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i969.photobucket.com/albums/ae173/BHK1978/RIPW/HenryLee_jhdBHK.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

Henry: Okay what is your weird request?

<a href="http://s969.photobucket.com/albums/ae173/BHK1978/RIPW/?action=view&current=TroyWinner.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i969.photobucket.com/albums/ae173/BHK1978/RIPW/TroyWinner.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

Troy: Well, I am looking to grow 4C. Looking to make 4C important in Canada, need help to do that. You seem like…yes…you seem like someone who can help grow 4C and in turn help grow RIPW…

[Henry shifts in his chair, nervous about what exactly Troy is going to ask him to do.]

Troy (continued): To grow 4C, I need an American promotion to showcase some of my workers. Give them a chance to shine in a new area. Your area is as good as any, seems like a good place to start.

[Henry does not know if he should pummel Troy or laugh at him. This whole meeting was just beyond bizarre.]

<a href="http://s969.photobucket.com/albums/ae173/BHK1978/RIPW/?action=view&current=HenryLee_jhdBHK.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i969.photobucket.com/albums/ae173/BHK1978/RIPW/HenryLee_jhdBHK.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

Henry: So how do you want me to grow 4C in America? Do you want me to hire some of your stars?

[Troy begins to nod his head enthusiastically. ]

<a href="http://s969.photobucket.com/albums/ae173/BHK1978/RIPW/?action=view&current=TroyWinner.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i969.photobucket.com/albums/ae173/BHK1978/RIPW/TroyWinner.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

Troy: Yes, yes…that is exactly what I want you to do. Not some stars, I want specific stars hired. I came up with a list. Look it over see who is on it, maybe watch tapes of those on the list. Tell me what you think of them.

[Henry looks over the names on the list, as he does so a grin creeps across his face as he realizes that there is some serious talent on this list. Henry looks up and smiles at Troy.]

<a href="http://s969.photobucket.com/albums/ae173/BHK1978/RIPW/?action=view&current=HenryLee_jhdBHK.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i969.photobucket.com/albums/ae173/BHK1978/RIPW/HenryLee_jhdBHK.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

Henry: So you want me to sign Too Hot and Frankie Dee? And if I do so you will allow me to sign the Wilkes Brothers?

<a href="http://s969.photobucket.com/albums/ae173/BHK1978/RIPW/?action=view&current=TroyWinner.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i969.photobucket.com/albums/ae173/BHK1978/RIPW/TroyWinner.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

Troy: Yes, yes. Be happy to let you sign them…in fact would encourage you to do so. Really want to spread the gospel of 4C to the United States. DVD sales should improve down there! Are you a fan of this deal Henry?

<a href="http://s969.photobucket.com/albums/ae173/BHK1978/RIPW/?action=view&current=HenryLee_jhdBHK.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i969.photobucket.com/albums/ae173/BHK1978/RIPW/HenryLee_jhdBHK.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

Henry: Why yes I am! In fact I am a huge fan of this deal!

And with that I had not only secured the rights of a great young tag team, that is if Mr. Ibanez gave me the okay to use Dutch. I had also managed to get a hold of two other great young talents, who in all honesty were never on my radar in the first place. However, once they were put there I would have been a fool not to snatch them up.

And there it was my initial roster all setup and ready for our first show. On paper this young, hungry roster looked very good. However, the big question for me was, could they put on a good show…

occ: I based Troy Winner on Mordin Solus from the video game Mass Effect 2. That was why he spoke so weird, I was iffy about posting this because Eisen-Verse is doing yet another great 4C diary and I did not want people to think my Troy was a rip off of his.

Anyway, the next post will be the official roster. And I would just like to thank everyone that has taken the time to read this.

occ: First I would like to thank jhd1 for the awsome alt renders of Stuart Ferdinand, Henry Lee (which has been posted in a couple of previous entries) and the Brian Cash-Man (Herb Stately).

Also, I wanted to try and make this roster more of a North Eastern centric roster. With some Eastern Canadian workers thrown in there as well. The reason for this is I felt it would be a bit more realistic, granted there are wrestlers from outside of that area but I tried to hire the ones with Boston in their bios.

Finally, even though this is a Sports Entertainment promotion most of my workers are not that great on the microphone. Now one would think why would I do that, and that is a valid question, when making the roster I decided to have a cutoff in popularity for this company. The cutoff number was 16, so therefore I forced myself to hire people with popularity at or lower than 16. The results were that I ended up with the dredges of the TEW free agency market. That was why I hired Blackjack Robbins; he was the best heel at his popularity rank that I could see working in this company. Also, he is a complete and utter jerk backstage and I needed at least one of them on the roster to keep me on my toes.

RIPW A New Day

<a href="http://s969.photobucket.com/albums/ae173/BHK1978/RIPW/?action=view&current=RobLMiskovsky_alt1.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i969.photobucket.com/albums/ae173/BHK1978/RIPW/RobLMiskovsky_alt1.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a> By Rob L. Miskovsky

Just as the name of our upcoming event says, on Saturday February 13, RIPW will usher in a New Day. For on that night RIPW will see a rebirth, like the phoenix we shall raise from the ashes. The card is looking to be one humdinger of an event!

On that night, we will see the debuts of some great wrestlers. Two of these new RIPW wrestlers will face off against each other, as Too Hot will take on Cowboy Stuart Ferdinand. Mister Ferdinand had this to say about his opponent Too Hot:

“Too Hot, I have head about you work up in Canada. You claim to be street, you aint street! You are from some hick town in North Dakota! I’m not sure what kind of hood life they have out there, but I don’t think it is all that tough.

So Too Hot, let us just face the facts that you are nothing but a poser! And being a poser you, aint fit enough to lace up my boots! I am an international superstar, you just some idiot in a stupid looking hat! Come February 13, you come down to that ring and do your stupid little rap hype. And then prepare yourself for the worst beating of your life!”

How about that! Something tells me that Too Hot and Stuart Ferdinand will never friend each other on the Facebook. Also, on the thirteenth we will be seeing the debuts of two new tag teams. The first tag team hails from just a little bit up the road from us in Boston, Massachusetts. That is right making their RIPW debut is the Wilkes Brothers! And on that night, they will face off against another new tag team The Canadian Hit Squad! The brothers Leftie Wilkes had this to say about their upcoming match:

“CHS, you guys are tough no doubt about that, but you aint never had to face a team like the Wilkes Brothers! Me and my brother are gonna come at you like rabid dogs and we are not gonna let up on you two until we win the match! You two better bring you’re A game because you are in for the match of your lives!”

I wonder which new tag team will win that one. Either way it is going to be a humdinger of a match, let me tell you that folks!

Well anyway, that is it for this month so come on down to the Twin River Event Center and witness RIPW history as we reopen our doors. The show starts at 8:00 p.m. and doors open at 7:15p.m. so come early and make sure you get a great seat! Because this looks to be an amazing night of action and fun!

Prediction Key:

[Faces on the left, heels on the right.]

The Wilkes Brothers vs. Canadian Hit Squad

The Young Braves vs. The Kings of Federal Hill

Raphael vs. Jerry Martin

Kentucky Bill vs. Blackjack Robbins

Too Hot vs. Cowboy Stuart Ferdinand

occ: Who knows when this show will pop up, the last time I did a diary I set strict deadlines and it burned me out. Because I felt that if I did not hit the deadline people would not read. So the deadline for this will be soonish (that cannot be a real word.)

The Wilkes Brothers vs. Canadian Hit Squad

I'll go with the team with the more clever team name

The Young Braves vs. The Kings of Federal Hill

Figure the face team wins here, since I picked a heel team to win the first matchup...in a build to a futre match to come

Raphael vs. Jerry Martin

Kentucky Bill vs. Blackjack Robbins

He's your bad apple, so you may be comprimised to kiss his butt a little

Too Hot vs. Cowboy Stuart Ferdinand

Seems to be one of your main guys

look forward to enjoying your work at whatever pace you need to go at

The Wilkes Brothers vs. Canadian Hit Squad

Cooler name, and I just can't picture the Wilkes actually getting a push

The Young Braves vs. The Kings of Federal Hill

Reminds me of the heady days of Tatanka

Raphael vs. Jerry Martin

I believe Raphael actually has talent

Kentucky Bill vs. Blackjack Robbins

IN an alley I go the other way though

Too Hot vs. Cowboy Stuart Ferdinand

Too Hot gets cooled off

The Wilkes Brothers vs. Canadian Hit Squad

The brother tandem gets a hit put out on them.

The Young Braves vs. The Kings of Federal Hill

This time the Native Americans win.

Raphael vs. Jerry Martin

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles can't be wrong, can they?

Kentucky Bill vs. Blackjack Robbins

Gotta go with the old school blackjack.

Too Hot vs. Cowboy Stuart Ferdinand

I had personality issues with Ferdinand last year so I can't pick him for the win.

Looking forward to the first show, BHK!
