I have also heard that MacGyver is a trouble show and that more than likely CBS wants it off the books (Though you would not know that by the hype they have thrown behind it). The pilot was shot twice and then they gave the show the kiss of death by putting it on a Friday night.

I thought the Excorcist was pretty good. Though I wonder how they will be able to make it a multi-season story (This is not a spoiler either, I thought this even before watching the first episode).

While American Horror Story is not a new show, I really have enjoyed the new season thus far. The concept for this season is ingenious in the way they make it like one of those many ghost stories you see on television. This is coming from someone who stopped watching the show last year because it got so terrible and no I was not one of the people who bought into the Lady Gaga hype. I mean she was not a terrible actress but she was nowhere near as good as the media hyped her to be.

Back-to-back posts but whatever. Cinemax was free this weekend so I decided to watch (So was HBO) Outcast. It was pretty good.

Granted Philip Glenister has yet to master an American accent but he will always be awesome even if he is no longer Gene Hunt. Always great to see Reg E. Cathey even though in my mind he is forever typecast as Querns.

I have to admit I felt a tad dumb watching the show and not realizing that Brent Spiner was in it until like the fourth episode. In fairness to me though I did fast forward over the opening credits, he was wearing a hat most of the time, and the last time I saw him was when he was playing Data. So he did not have white hair.

Not sure what happened to the movie thread but I just saw Doctor Strange (IMAX 3D). Very good movie. Great cast, cutting edge effects and one of the few 3D movies that I deem worthy of the extra expense.

Interesting to see how Agents of Shield ties in (aside from the Darkhold which I don't recall being mentioned in the movie). I would mark out for a Cumberbatch cameo. I've also read rumors of a Mephisto appearance in AOS tying in with Ghost Rider's origin story, which would be cool.

Luke Cage dissappointed me and failed to live up to Daredevil and Jessica Jones. The main villain was lackluster and they talked waaaay too much. Still a decent show, but had it not been a Marvel show, it would have been just another mediocre drama series. I like the guy playing Luke though, he has great presence. And Cottonmouth was fantastic.

The last half year I've only been watching the end of Supergirl s1 (which is a decent watch though as mainstream as it gets). Watch it if you used to like Lois & Clark back in the day. It's pretty much the same imo. I'm not a Netflix subscriber and I very rarely watch TV so I don't see much.

Vikings s4/5? has just wrapped up and it was awesome, though maybe a bit on the decline.

Lastly I watch Big Bang Theory which is still running and imo the series is still as awesome as ever (after so many seasons that's impressive, but then again; it's more of a soap so no surprise there).

So this new show premiered on Fox last night, "APB" -- basically, if Tony Stark funded the police instead of making an Iron Man suit for himself.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt5542294/

I'm cautiously optimistic about it. I like the premise, each cast member's character is easily identifiable (obviously, if the show goes long enough, they'll hopefully become much more fleshed out), Ernie Hudson, and gadgets~! :)

So last night, the show "Bull" (loosely based on Dr.Phil's pre-Oprah life as a Jury Consultant) had an episode centered around Titanfall 2 competition; the "best Titanfall 2 player in the world" was the focal character of that episode (centered around a defamation lawsuit after his team, DV8, loses the $3million World Championship and he's fired and blackballed) and his effing name was "Jace Rundle".

THERE IS NO G-D WAY THAT THE BEST *ANYTHING* PLAYER IN THE WORLD WOULD BE NAMED "Jace Rundle". D:<

Other than that, I thought that that show, in a STARK contrast to basically every OTHER show that covers e-sports, actually made an effort that episode to go at least a little deeper, beyond old fogies going "oh these kids are being paid to play video games, what has the human race come to?"

(spoiler: Jace's screw-up and the team's subsequent loss was actually a result of early-onset Parkinson's, and it was actually his teammate who took a dive due to making a $500k bet against DV8 through shell companies--the odds against them were 25-1, so HUGE payday there)

BUT I CAN'T STOP SEETHING AT HIS NAME BEING "Jace Rundle". D:<

Television writers who only have a superficial understanding of the competitive gaming community (and its sub-communities), naturally.

The episode, as with most episodes of Bull, was really more about the case rather than Titanfall 2 itself (which was really more of an unconventional framing device).

The part about betting against the team and the teammate taking a dive to ensure his bet would've been more believable if it had been like some rich oil-baron foreign prince or something instead of some regular-ass white guy.

I just finished the first season of Attack on Titan and I loved it! My only previous experience of anime before this was watching a couple of episodes of Naruto with my friend so my question is, do we have many anime watchers here and if so, what would you recommend to a newcomer like myself?

Iron Fist was dissapointing. Overall story was slightly better than the likewise lukewark Luke Cage, while I like the actor portraying Danny Rand, I just don't feel he was right for the part - unlike with Luke Cage, where he felt so right in that role.

Here's hoping The Defenders will impress. And Punisher, oh so much Punisher.

I normally binge watch Survivor after the season (not watching it live), but my schedule has allowed it this season.

The whole thing with Zeke seemed forced, scripted. I won't stop watching, but it made no sense.

*The immediate, over-the-top reactions (except for Ozzie).

*The quick reversal by Varner.

*Probst shaming Varner for outing Zeke...um, Probst, you know the show isn't live and you can either re-shoot Tribal (happens all the time) or edit that out and no one would be the wiser.

If Zeke wins, I predict a few things:

*Ozzie comes back one more time and is put on a favorable tribe to finally win.

*Tai comes back one more time and wins in a future season.

*Varner comes back as a "villain" and gets a redemption edit in a few years.

Just like when Tyson pulls off the dumbest move in Survivor and votes himself out in HvV (there was no reason whatsoever to change the vote), short of the producers wanting Russell to go deep in the game again. What happens? Boston Rob, who got screwed by the move comes back and was given a favorable path to victory. Tyson comes back after being made a fool of to win his season. And Coach ended up getting a redemption edit after that season. (Jerri too, to a lesser extent from her previous time).

I hope I'm wrong about Zeke winning because it just seems like too much.

This might get me some hate, but I really do not want the next Dr. Who to be a woman. I will have no interest in the show if they go down that road. We will find out today if that is the case or not and I hope it is not the case.

The show has gotten a little too SJW recently but it is still watchable. However, if they take a character that has played by a man for fifty some odd years and turn the character into a woman I will have to say peace out.

I have read that ratings have not been as good with Peter Capaldi playing the part, so it would not surprise me if they were to cast a woman in the part to create a buzz for the show.

Honestly, I liked Peter Capaldi as the Doctor. He sort of reminded me a bit of Jon Pertwee. I think the reason why he might have failed to connect with the audience was partly because of his age and partly because the shows during his tenure were not up to snuff when compared to the other Doctors of the new Who era. The age thing might have been a big factor as well because you went from having two young conventionally good looking actors, who the women absolutely, adored to having an older man play the part.

I normally binge watch Survivor after the season (not watching it live), but my schedule has allowed it this season.

The whole thing with Zeke seemed forced, scripted. It was like nobody wanted to play/knew how to play and they just wanted to hand him the money. The only highlight of that season was that it gave us, Special Agent Phillip Sheppard. That dude was comedy gold.

That whole Zeke thing was uncomfortable to watch at the time. If it was scripted or not I did feel bad for Zeke (Well if it was scripted, then that means he was in on it so I guess it would be hard to feel bad for him). Nobody deserves to be forced into outing themselves if they do not want to be outed.

I am not sure it was scripted because I felt that for the most part Survivor is more on the up and up (Though I can clearly see why one might think it was indeed scripted). Or at least when compared to Big Brother. I mean in Big Brother the blatantly fix the show to get the outcome they want. I would like and sort of believe Survivor is not the same way but who knows.

I know TC is heavily edited because it normally lasts a long time and we the viewers only get to see ten minutes of what could be a two hour TC.

In regards to Jeff Varner, well like I said I did not like nor agree with what he did. I mean he of all people should have been empathetic towards Zeke's feeling of not wanting to be out. However, I do not agree with people threatening to kill Varner and I am not favor of him getting fired from his job.

People do stupid things all of the time and he just happened to do in on national television. Does that mean he should become a social pariah for the rest of his life?

Now if we are talking about Mike Skupin and what he did, well yeah that guy deserves to be a social pariah for the rest of his life.

I don't remember Danny Rand being a naive, whiny boy in the comics...

The Defenders arc would have worked so much better as part of Daredevil season 3, without Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Iron Fist involved at all. And I would have expected a much better villain instead of wasting Sigourney Weaver on someone that ridiculously weak and uninteresting.
