<p>I do not get why people would pay to see a tribute band. I don't want to see some dude dressed up as Elvis. What the hell is the point?<img alt="" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/confused.png.d4a8e6b6eab0c67698b911fb041c0ed1.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p>

I remember when I was a kid and I went with my family to Kings Dominion in Virginia (at least I think it was there, it might have been another theme park). There was a Beatles tribute band there and my family went to watch them. Throughout the whole "concert" I kept on asking my mom where Ringo was. She kept on pointing to the man in a bad wing who looked nothing like Ringo and said, "He's right there." </p><p> </p><p>

I told her that he was not Ringo and that the concert sucked. I got a backhand for cussing (yes kids that was what passed as cussing back in the 80's).</p><p> </p><p>

Yeah, I did not get the appeal back then and I do not get it now.</p>

<p>I was reading the other day that there is serious talk about making break dancing an Olympic sport...<img alt="" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/confused.png.d4a8e6b6eab0c67698b911fb041c0ed1.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /> Whomever makes those decisions (I know nothing about the Olympics) think by adding break dancing they will draw in a younger crowd.</p><p> </p><p>

Maybe if this was 1985 I could see why they would think that. I honestly did not know that people were still break dancing. It left the mainstream culture over thirty years ago.</p>

But what of the historical searches of past games? A lot of times vets might point newer players to old games to get a feel for the mechanics. I suppose that with some effort they could be discovered but it was nice to have the corral for everything in one place. <img alt=":)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

I noticed this because one of my diaries that used to be in the off-topic section is gone as well and it is not in my list of created threads. Therefore, I went to look in Rev's created threads (Because he was one of the most prolific creators of games) and none of his created games are there.</p><p> </p><p> It is what it is, they are probably freeing up space for other stuff that actually makes them money. It was just something I noticed.</p>

<p>Sorry for the back-to-back posts. I just wanted to say I have been getting some odd ads on this site that make be laugh. Right now I am looking at an ad that has to do with farming equipment. Just a few minutes ago I had an ad asking me to join a church in North Dakota (I live on the east coast of America and ND is pretty far from where I am at). Then I got an ad trying to sell me some sort of weird Donald Trump hats (I did not even vote for him nor do I like him).</p><p> </p><p>

Just strange, I always thought ads had to do with what you are interested in. But apparently that is not the case on this site.</p>

I read a few weeks back where Maya Hawke (From Stranger Things who is the daughter of Uma Thurman and Ethan Hawke) was blaming her parent's generation (Gen-X) for all the ills that are happening in this world. She especially blames Gex-Xers for climate change problems. After reading the article I read the comments and there were a bunch of people talking about how right she was and all of that.

I am thinking to myself, "Does this chick understand the amount of pollution that the Industrial Revolution shot off into the environment or dumped into the waters? Did she know that in 1952 the Cuyahoga River (the one that winds through Cleveland) caught on fire due to pollution? A freaking river caught on fire! Newsflash Maya, there were no members of Gen-X alive in 1952.

I just hate it when "celebrities" get on their high horse and say stupid stuff like that. Another example was Nick Cannon saying he wanted all prisons abolished. He was sitting there talking with a woke professor saying how all prisons should be abolished and I am thinking to myself, "Okay Nick let's do that, and then let's move Dennis Rader next door to your house or someone just as bad. Then we shall see how your woke ass feels about closing all prisons.

I have recently gotten into reaction videos of people hearing different music for the first time on YouTube. I am not sure why I am interested in it, because more often than not the reactor offers no real insight but I do enjoy those videos.

One channel had these two college-aged guys talking about how they had never heard of the Rolling Stones. That completely flummoxed me, how could they have not heard of the Rolling Stones?

Yes, the Stones were last relevant in the 1970s but their music is still played to this very day in various forms of media. It is like when a buddy of mine saw a clip of the Beatles and he said, "Dude is that guy right there the old dude in that Kayne West/Rihanna song?" I seriously thought of strangling my friend right there and then. The jury would have probably found me not guilty due to it being a justifiable homicide.

After all, how does someone who is in their late 30's not know who Paul McCartney is? And the only way my buddy knew him was through the worst song Paul has ever been on. That song was trash and nobody could convince me otherwise.

My point I guess is, am I the person who is not normal? After all the Stones and the Beatles were big years before I was born, yet I knew who they were. Growing up I knew who Buddy Holly, Sammy Davis Jr., Frank Sinatra, Patsy Cline were. Hell, I even knew who Louis Armstrong was and he was big way before I was born.

Is it that younger generations are not exposed to older music or am I just an exception to the rule?

Have you watched Spider-Man : Far From Home? There's a scene there that kinda speaks to what you're talking about. I'm like half(?) a generation younger than you and while I'm familiar with the names of the classics, I don't always necessarily put two and two together. :o So MAYBE younger generations are exposed to older music, but not necessarily know who sang it?

I despise how Tom Holland plays the character, he annoys the crap out of me. Not as much as the dude who plays the Flash in the Justice League movie but it is pretty close. Honestly, I was not a fan of Andrew Garfield as Spider-Man either. I felt he was very bland. The only one I liked in the role was Tobey Maguire. </p><p> </p><p> As to your point though I think you could be right. When I was younger I did not know who sang what when it came to the Four Tops and the Temptations. When I heard a song from them I knew it was one of the two groups but I never knew which one it was.</p><p> </p><p> Or when I used to work at a supermarket they used to play this song called 99 over and over again. I had no idea it was Toto who sang the song because it was so different from anything I had heard from them before (Like Africa, Hold the Line, and Rosanna). Point being, I tend to agree with your point. </p><p> </p><p> It is tough when certain groups sound similar. Like the song A World Without Love. It sounds like an early Beatles song and it was in fact written by Paul McCartney. But the song was sung by a duo called Peter and Gordon. For years I thought for sure that was either George or Paul singing that song but I was wrong.</p>

lol, Ironboy not knowing ACDC guitar riff, a huge classic hit. That's like me not knowing Elvis sang Jailhouse Rock... "OH I Love Johnny Cash!"

If you told me that Women of Wrestling would be coming back via Jeanie Buss (owner of the Los Angeles Lakers), have AJ Mendez (AJ Lee) on commentary, secure a TV deal with ViacomCBS, have The Beast (WOW World Champion) and Tessa Blanchard among the first signings, I would've said you are nuts.

Sorry didn't know if I should create a new thread or just use random for this.
