Texas Wrestling

War Memorial Auditorium (Midwest)

March (Week Three) 1979

Attendance: 1,789

Rating: 0.14 on Channel 7 Regional

The program kicked off with its now-standard opening, a camera zoomed in on a young girl kneeling beside her bed, hands folded as if in prayer. “And God bless Mother, and God bless Father. But most of all, God bless Texas!” Then the screen cut to the Lone Star Stampeder and Lawrence Grove, seated behind a desk at ringside.

“Good evening and welcome Texas wrestling fans! I’m Lawrence Grove and I’m joined, as always, by the Lone Star Stampeder. Stampy, what do we have in store for our fans tonight?”

“Welp Lawrence, we’ve got a father-son grudge match pitting the legendary Edmond Jackson against his son, Jason,” Stampy replied, mumbling something about a snot-nosed brat under his breath before continuing. “And in our huge main event, the Texas Outlaws will tangle with the Trailer Park Kid, Luis Montero, and the TWL champion, Chief Two Eagles! But first, the TWL Six-Man title will be defended as the Pain Hunters take on the Disciples of Evilness. Let’s head down to the ring!”

TWL Six-Man Title Match: Pain Hunters (Pain/Croup/Vandemar) © v. Disciples of Evilness (Professor Nero/Demon Anger/Demon Spite)

Billy’s Take: Early in the match, this followed the script these teams have used in the past – punch, punch, clothesline, kick, shoulderblock and then repeat. But, as always, Professor Nero attempted to play mind games with the champs. He refused to engage in singles combat with Pain, unless his minions had sufficiently disabled Nero’s powerful former protégé. Pain finally got hold of the slippery sadist and chased Nero out of the ring and to the backstage area. Meanwhile, in the ring, Croup and Vandemar double shoulder-blocked Demon Anger out of the ring, isolating Demon Spite. Spite fell quickly to a powerful bodyslam from Croup, allowing the champions to retain.

Pain Hunters d. Disciples of Evilness via pinfall to retain the TWL Six-Man Titles

Match Rating: D

“What a hard-hitting match that was. Those men are gigantic!”

“Speaking of giants, our next match features the largest man in professional wrestling, Giant Grimsley, doing battle against newcomer Sam Gauge.”

Giant Grimsley v. Sam ‘Twelve’ Gauge

Billy’s Take: Grimsley towered over his opponent, the previously unnamed Sam ‘Twelve’ Gauge. On commentary, Stampy and Lawrence speculated as to what ‘Twelve’ meant or if, in fact, it was simply a play off his last name. The match itself was about what you’d expect from a Grimsley match as he isn’t one for fancy moves like dropkicks or running bulldogs. Instead, he kept to the basics, chopping and kicking Gauge into near oblivion. But then in one fluid, lightning-quick motion, Gauge instantly turned the tide of the match, locking Grimsley into a painful-looking hold wrenching the Giant’s notoriously unstable left knee. Grimsley grimaced in pain and eventually had to submit to the hold, much to the astonishment of the crowd, who gasped when the Giant finally gave.

Lawrence Grove stood ringside to interview young Sam Gauge on his impressive, and somewhat unexpected, victory. “Sam, that was quite a win. What the viewers at home, I’m sure, want to know is why you call yourself ‘Twelve’?” Gauge glared at Grove before snatching away the microphone. “I’ll tell you why they call me Twelve Gauge. It’s because I know twelve ways to maim a man. You just saw number one. Giant Grimsley will never forget that move and neither should you. Because I’ve got eleven more up my sleeve and the wrestlers here in TWL shouldn’t blink, or they might be trapped in one of ‘em. This interview’s over.” Gauge tossed the microphone back at Grove and stalked away, leaving Grove to close the segment. “Seems like we haven’t heard the last of that youngster. Sam ‘Twelve’ Gauge seems to be quite a dangerous man!” D+

“Right you are Lawrence,” Stampy intoned from his position at the commentator’s table. “Now up next, we’ve got a real treat for you folks as we’ll see Jason Jackson take on his father, Edmond Jackson!”

‘Old School’ Edmond Jackson v. ‘New School’ Jason Jackson w/Kenzo Isozaki

Billy’s Take: Edmond Jackson walked down to the ring, slapping hands with fans at ringside and even signing a few autographs. When Jason strolled to the ring, accompanied by his new buddy ‘The Oriental Assassin’ Kenzo Isozaki, the crowd turned, booing the much-maligned California hipster. He arrogantly waved and laughed as the crowd’s jeers intensified. Inside the ring, these two men put on a clinic of holds and counter-holds – obviously understanding one another’s in-ring actions perfectly. In the end, though, it was a move outside the purview of normal grappling that gave ‘New School’ the win after Kenzo tossed him a pair of brass knuckles and then distracted me enough to allow Jason to smash his father with the foreign object right between the eyes. Jason hurriedly stuffed the knucks into his tights and covered his dad, rolling him up for the easy three count.

http://i263.photobucket.com/albums/ii147/ajcrible/Texas%20Wrestling/EdmondJackson.jpghttp://i263.photobucket.com/albums/ii147/ajcrible/Texas%20Wrestling/JasonJackson_MJSTARK.jpghttp://i263.photobucket.com/albums/ii147/ajcrible/Texas%20Wrestling/KenzoIsozaki.jpghttp://i263.photobucket.com/albums/ii147/ajcrible/Texas%20Wrestling/Eruption.jpghttp://i263.photobucket.com/albums/ii147/ajcrible/Texas%20Wrestling/Tsunami.jpg

Apparently unsatisfied with the amount of pain he’d inflicted, Jason Jackson instructed Kenzo Isozaki to join him in the ring where the duo began putting the boots to the fallen Edmond Jackson. Double Disaster, Eruption and Tsunami, joined their fellow West Coast Warriors, which made Jason quite pleased. He signaled for them to help him with the beating and the duo seemed to comply, both entering the ring and standing over the helpless Edmond Jackson. But instead of putting the boots to ‘Old School’, they turned toward Jason and Kenzo and growled, barring their teeth and pounding their massive chests with their club-like forearms. Jason backed off and nearly fell down trying to beat a hurried escape. Kenzo stalled for a moment, but then silently followed his partner down the ramp and out of the arena while Eruption and Tsunami each put an arm around Edmond and helped the nearly-unconscious man to the back as the crowd cheered their apparent change in allegiances. C

“Woo-wee, what a turn of events there Lawrence. Cain’t say I seen that one comin’! Who’da thunk them boys’d HELP Edmond?

“Right you are Stampy. Seems Eruption and Tsunami had a change of heart! Well fans, it’s the time you’ve been waiting for. The main event, featuring the Texas Outlaws and the team of Chief Two Eagles, Luis Montero, and the Trailer Park Kid, is up next!”

Chief Two Eagles/Trailer Park Kid/Luis Montero w/Debbie Dallas and Shannon v. Texas Outlaws (Johnny Lawless/Floyd ‘F-Bomb’ Bowman/Mean Mark Green)

Billy’s Take: The crowd sat on the edges of the seats as the contestants came down to the ring. As usual, they soured when they saw the Texas Outlaws emerge first, Bowman screaming expletives at fans (apparently, in Floyd’s estimation, at least one of the fans is into bestiality) while Mean Mark Green simply glared at the crowd and Johnny Lawless seemed oblivious to their jeers. Contrarily, when the babyfaces came out, the crowd roared. Two Eagles looked resplendent, as always, in his traditional Indian garb while the Trailer Park Kid came in via his new car (down the specially-reinforced ramp), escorting the buxom blonde Debbie Dallas and smoking feverishly on a cigarette dangling from his lips. Luis Montero emerged last, the lovely debonair Shannon on his arm. Inside the ring, this was quite a battle. All six men shone – there were really no lulls in the action or stalling by the participants. The match was so evenly-contested that it appeared it could last all night. Then, from the back, the difference maker emerged in the guise of Cheatin’ Mike Barstow. Barstow, the longtime nemesis of Luis Montero, strode arrogantly down to the ring and, unbeknownst to her, draped his casted arm casually over the shoulder of Shannon. Shannon screamed, distracting Luis Montero. This was all the opening the Outlaws needed as Floyd leapt into the ring and connected with Mean Mark Green on a Nowhere to Run for the quick pin.

http://i263.photobucket.com/albums/ii147/ajcrible/Texas%20Wrestling/1978LincolnTowncar.jpg

Chaos ensued after the match as Luis Montero groggily went after Cheatin’ Mike Barstow. Chief Two Eagles likewise followed, aiding Montero in his attempted revenge. But that left the Trailer Park Kid alone with the three Outlaws. Johnny Lawless leveled the Kid with a Power Lariat, allowing Mean Mark Green and Floyd 'F-Bomb' Bowman to slide out of the ring and fish a chain out from under the ring. Bowman waved it menacingly above his head, apparently intent on using it on the Trailer Park Kid. But then he noticed the 1978 Lincoln Towncar parked on the entrance ramp. With a devilish grin, Bowman took off at the car and leveled the windshield with the length of chain. Chief Two Eagles, Luis Montero, and the Trailer Park Kid all went to stop the carnage, but the Outlaws and Barstow kept the babyfaces from interfering. Bowman left the car a wreck, destroyed by the chain and his boots. C

“My lord, what carnage! Fans, I’m sorry but we’re plum out of time. Join us next week as, I’m sure the Chief, the Kid, and Mr. Montero will have something to say about the travesty we’ve just witnessed. Until then, good night and God bless Texas!”

Thanks for the compliment. And, yes, I'm sure you MEANT to pick the Pain Hunters and Sam Gauge, not the Disciples and Grimsley.

It isn't sad at all that you remember those cars. My grandpa had one very similar back in the day.

From the Notebook of Referee Billy

http://i263.photobucket.com/albums/ii147/ajcrible/TWL.jpg

Well, Texas Wrestling fans, there is just one more episode of Texas Wrestling between now and the much-anticipated High Noon show. Here is the announced card:

Eruption v. Kenzo Isozaki

Kenzo Isozaki's arrival in TWL coincided with the dissolution of the West Coast Warriors. How will Jason Jackson's new compadre fare against one of his old allies (who also happens to be 1/2 of the TWL Tag Team Champions)?

Team Texas (Archie 'The Governor' Judge/Dave 'Double-Wide' Wylde') v. 'Handsome' Tommy Handell/'Luscious' Lee Wright w/???

Team Texas has not been seen since the horrific fireball attack perpetrated by the Crimson Serpent Cult several weeks ago. They'll look to make their mark here against Shane Sneer's former team - now under new management.

The Party Animals (Chase Allen/Dirk 'Bone-Dogg' Bonell) v. Texas Outlaws (Mean Mark Green/Floyd 'F-Bomb' Bowman)

The Texas Outlaws have run roughshod through the competition lately, last week taking out Chief Two Eagles' team. How will they fare against the former tag team top contenders?

Mystery Opponent v. Johnny Lawless

Lawless has promised that he will show Chief Two Eagles just what he intends for him at High Noon in this match against, in Lawless' words, a "well-traveled tough guy." We'll have to wait until Wednesday to see who he means!

Quick Picks:

Eruption v. Kenzo Isozaki

Team Texas (Archie 'The Governor' Judge/Dave 'Double-Wide' Wylde') v. 'Handsome' Tommy Handell/'Luscious' Lee Wright w/???

The Party Animals (Chase Allen/Dirk 'Bone-Dogg' Bonell) v. Texas Outlaws (Mean Mark Green/Floyd 'F-Bomb' Bowman)

“Good evening and welcome Texas wrestling fans! I’m Lawrence Grove and I’m joined, as always, by the Lone Star Stampeder. Stampy, what do we have in store for our fans tonight?”

“Well, Lawrence, we’ve got one heck of a night planned. Later on we have the Party Animals, one of TWL’s hottest teams, taking on the Texas Outlaws, Mean Mark Green and the always-colorful Floyd ‘F-Bomb’ Bowman. And in our main event, Johnny Lawless has challenged the “Tokyo Terror” Saionki Omura! But up first, we’ve got one half of the TWL tag team champions, the massive Eruption, taking on the ‘Oriental Assassin’ Kenzo Isozaki. Let’s head down to the ring.”

Eruption w/Tsunami v. ‘The Oriental Assassin’ Kenzo Isozaki w/‘New School’ Jason Jackson

Billy’s Take: Isozaki and Jackson came to the ring first, Jackson really playing to the crowd, exaggeratedly putting his hands to his ears as boos rained down on the two remaining members of the West Coast Warriors. When Eruption and Tsunami emerged, the crowd exploded – especially after seeing the newly-war-painted visages of the tag champs. Overall, this was a very entertaining match – aided by the outside shenanigans of Jason Jackson. In fact, it was Jackson who ultimately turned the tide of the match, clobbering Eruption from behind and distracting the huge Samoan long enough for Isozaki to quickly roll him up for the three count.

After the match, you’d have thought Jackson himself had earned the pinfall as he whooped and hollered, jumping up and down and repeatedly slapping Isozaki on the back in adulation.

Isozaki d. Eruption via pinfall

Match Rating: C

“That no-good, lyin’, cheatin’, two-bit…” Stampy began before being cut off by Lawrence Grove.

“Jackson did help the ‘Oriental Assassin’ steal that one. What a travesty! Well, folks, up next we’ve got the Trailer Park Kid and I’m sure he’s steaming mad about what the Texas Outlaws did to his new Lincoln Towncar last week!”

The Trailer Park Kid came out, feverishly puffing on an unfiltered Marlboro as he stewed. The buxom blonde Debbie Dallas walked next to him, obviously agitated herself. The Trailer Park Kid grabbed a microphone, taking one final drag on his smoke before putting it out with a boot. “Floyd…Bowman,” the Kid could barely spit out the words. “You ruined somethin’ real dear to me. You killed my Vixen! What you done to my beautiful car is unforgiveable. And I aim to make you pay. I’m callin’ you out, Floyd. I wanna settle this man-to-man at High Noon…in a chain match. I’m fixin’ to do to you what you done to Vixen – beat you with a chain so bad they’ll have to scrape your no-good *** off the ring floor!” As if in response, the Texas Outlaws – Mean Mark Green, Johnny Lawless, and Floyd ‘F-Bomb’ Bowman – entered the arena. Green sauntered almost lazily to the ring while Lawless strutted arrogantly and Bowman bounced from side to side screaming at the fans sitting at ringside. Inside the ring it was Bowman who took the microphone. “I killed your ****in’ Vixen? Who the **** names their ****in’ car? Only stupid *** ****ies like you!” Debbie had to restrain the Trailer Park Kid from attacking F-Bomb. “But you wanna ****in’ challenge me? Then, **** yes – I ****in’ accept! I’m gonna beat your *** so bad at High Noon that your gonna **** your teeth out your *** for a ****in’ week!” Bowman threw down the spit-riddled microphone and led the Outlaws out of the ring, the Trailer Park Kid glaring holes at them as they left, but apparently pleased that Floyd accepted his challenge. C-

“Holy cow, Stampy. I can’t wait for those two to lock horns at High Noon. That’ll be a real barnburner!”

“Sure ‘nuff Lawrence. And up next, folks, it gives me great pleasure to introduce the competitors in the next match. ‘Handsome’ Tommy Handell and ‘Luscious’ Lee Wright, now under new management, take on the returning Team Texas! Seems not even fireballs from the depths of hell itself can keep them boys from comin’ back for more!”

Team Texas (Archie ‘The Governor’ Judge/Dave ‘Double-Wide’ Wylde) w/Debbie Dallas v. ‘Handsome’ Tommy Handell and ‘Luscious’ Lee Wright w/Artie Goldstein

Billy’s Take: Wright and Handell’s new manager – a slick attorney-type named Artie Goldstein – led his charges to the ring with a briefcase in hand. He grabbed the microphone and claimed that he was their new representation and that he would finally get his clients a fair shake here in the TWL. Not surprisingly, the crowd booed the lawyer-esque Goldstein. Contrarily, Team Texas got a rousing ovation from the crowd when they entered the arena. Inside the ring, this match was basically forgettable outside of the bouncing Debbie Dallas and annoying banter between Goldstein and his clients. In the end, Goldstein’s advice wasn’t enough as Archie hit the Martial Law (hangman’s neckbreaker) on Handell to pick up the win.

Team Texas d. Handell/Wright via Martial Law

Match Rating: D

“Whoo wee, what a reintroduction for our boys from Texas. Looks like they’re geared up and ready to take on them dirty rotten snakes – the Crimson Serpent Cult – at High Noon. That should be one heck of a battle! Now we’re headed to the ring where Lawrence has a special interview planned with the Masked Patriot!”

+++++++++++++++++++++++++

http://i263.photobucket.com/albums/ii147/ajcrible/Texas%20Wrestling/MarvinEarnest.jpghttp://i263.photobucket.com/albums/ii147/ajcrible/Texas%20Wrestling/TheMaskedPatriot.jpg

Lawrence Grove and the Masked Patriot stood in the ring, alone but for a microphone held by Grove. “I am honored today to be standing next to a real legend in the wrestling business – the Masked Patriot!” “Thank you Lawrence,” the Masked Patriot began in a deep baritone, “I’m excited to be here. And I’m doubly excited to be in Texas – one of the greatest states in the entire nation!” That got the crowd to cheer.

http://i263.photobucket.com/albums/ii147/ajcrible/Texas%20Wrestling/SamKeith_alt1.jpg

But before the Patriot could heap any more praise on the fans, Sam ‘Twelve’ Gauge jumped a barrier from behind the Patriot, slid into the ring and chop-blocked the unsuspecting masked man. Gauge kicked Patriot’s knee repeatedly and then locked in a vicious-looking ankle hold. As the Patriot screamed in pain, Gauge grabbed the microphone from Grove. “That’s two,” he breathed into the microphone, “ten to go.” He let up on the Patriot and left back the way he’d come through the crowd. C-

“That Sam Gauge is one heck of a talent. And I can’t wait to see all of his twelve deadly moves! I just wish he’d of come at the Patriot head on instead of Pearl Harboring the man. Then we’d have seen who the better man really was. Up next, folks, we’ve got a real exciting matchup as the Party Animals take on the Texas Outlaws. Let’s head down to the ring.”

Party Animals (Chase Allen/Dirk ‘Bone-Dogg’ Bonell) v. Texas Outlaws (Mean Mark Green/Floyd ‘F-Bomb’ Bowman)

Billy’s Take: This was, as you would expect, a hard-hitting, bone-jarring, teeth-rattling match. Dirk is among the strongest men on the roster while Mean Mark and F-Bomb are as accomplished bar fighters as you’d find anywhere. As a result, it was Chase who took much of the beating and eventually succumbed to a spectacular Nowhere to Run from the Outlaws to give them the win.

Cameras cut quickly backstage where, as Stampy mentioned on the dubbed commentary, “Somethin’s goin’ on backstage!” The camera caught a flash of bright light and Debbie Dallas cowering in a corner, the Crimson Serpent Cult – Cobra and Viper – slinking toward her. Suddenly, from the wings, Archie ‘The Governor’ Judge and Dave ‘Double-Wide’ Wylde sprung at the Cult – knocking down the advancing serpentine duo. The four men rolled around on the floor, punching, biting, and kicking until security could separate them. C-

“Wow, fans. What a night we’re having. And it’s not over yet as, in our main event, we have the leader of the Texas Outlaws fighting against a relative unknown here in Texas – ‘TheTokyo Terror’ Saionki Omura.”

“That’s right, Stampy. Omura is a super-tough Japanese fighter, having cut his teeth on the no-holds bar Thai fighting of the Orient. As a result, he is seemingly immune to pain and has put on some of the most brutal, the most vicious matches that have been seen in the states for generations!”

“Well that sounds super exciting, Lawrence. Let’s head to the ring for your main event!”

+++++++++++++++++++++++++

http://i263.photobucket.com/albums/ii147/ajcrible/Texas%20Wrestling/SaionjiOmura1977.jpg VS http://i263.photobucket.com/albums/ii147/ajcrible/Texas%20Wrestling/JohnnyLawless.jpg

‘The Tokyo Terror’ Saionji Omura v. Johnny Lawless

Billy’s Take: Lawless came out to the ring first, strutting arrogantly as always. The crowd rained down boos on the black-masked baddie. When Omura came out, the crowd’s opinion was mixed. Some booed because of some innate racism while others cheered because he opposed Lawless. However divided their opinions might have been to start, they quickly got behind the Japanese madman as he hurtled himself at Lawless like a runaway train™. But in the end, Lawless was simply the better man, ending the match with a Power Lariat that nearly decapitated Omura. To rub salt in the wound (and to make sure to get the attention of Chief Two Eagles), Lawless did a mock war dance around the supine Omura as the crowd roared its disapproval.

Lawless d. Omura via Power Lariat

Match Rating: B-

“What a night of wrasslin’ we had here tonight! I, for one, can’t wait ‘till Saturday night when Chief Two Eagles finally gets hold of Johnny Lawless. Until next week, good night and God Bless Texas!”

<em>Billy’s Take</em>: The night kicked off with a barn-burner that had the crowd really into the action. Bowman came out first, grabbing the house microphone. <span style="color:#FF0000;">“Tonight you dumb mother****ers, F-Bomb is gonna **** up the inbred piece of **** Trailer Park *****. Debbie Dallas, sashaying a few steps behind, put out the smoldering smoke with her boot, and cheered on her man as he slid into the ring. Before I could even attach the chain to the wrists of these men, they were at one another’s throats, fighting tooth-and-nail, gouging, biting, and scratching for all their worth. The match itself was a back and forth affair, with both men soaked in blood from violent interactions with the steel chain. But in the end, despite Floyd’s hard-driving offense, it was the Trailer Park Kid who came out on top, avoiding a Salute ‘n Boot from TWL’s resident potty-mouth and connecting with the Double Wide Dive for the win. </p><p>

<em>Billy’s Take</em>: The crowd was firmly behind Team Texas, both because of their hometown appeal and due to the vivacious Debbie Dallas swaying and bouncing down at ringside. To their credit, Judge and Wylde fought valiantly against the larger, more experienced, and more ruthless Crimson Serpent Cult. But in the end, Cobra and Viper were just too much and emerged victorious following a Snakebite Roundhouse Kick from Viper that damn-near decapitated Wylde. He slithered over and made the pinfall for the relatively easy 1…2...3. </p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><p>After the bell rang, <strong>Cobra</strong> lashed out with a lariat that knocked Judge off his feet. <em>Billy’s Take</em>: Nero came out first, as always riling up the crowd with his mere psychotic presence. He alternated between giggling and smirking, scowling and grinning – all creating an effect of sheer lunacy. When Pain emerged, the crowd erupted. This match was about what you’d expect from the devious, conniving Professor and his muscular, powerful former protégé. Pain punched, kicked, and generally threw Nero around the ring while the nefarious Nero used a low blow, a thumb to the eye, and a judo chop to the throat to fell the larger Pain. In the end, it was this under-handedness that allowed Nero to emerge victorious. In one particularly heated exchange, Nero apparently sustained a cut to the forehead. But before I noticed the wound, he hurriedly clawed Pain’s eyes, wiping the blood onto Pain in the process. As the first blood I saw was on Pain, I called for the end of the match, much to the disdain of the crowd, who booed me loudly. </p><p>

What this puny capitalist was trying to tell you was that I have a huge announcement to make…but not now. No, this announcement is much too big for dumb Texans like all of you. Instead, this week on Texas Wrestling I will reveal to the world my plans!”</span> Panzer growled, Popinowski grunted and pulled out a metal bar which he bent effortlessly in his mitt-like hands as the trio returned backstage. <strong>C-</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong>Grudge Match: Luis Montero w/Shannon v. Cheatin’ Mike Barstow</strong></p><p>

<em>Billy’s Take</em>: The crowd was hot for this one as both Montero and Barstow are well-known in Texas. Barstow may have received the loudest boos of the night to this point, demonstrating just how quickly he has become a top flight competitor here in TWL. Though his wrist remained casted, Barstow repeatedly made me check Montero for illegal objects. And while Montero dutifully complied, he got angrier each time, much to the delight of Cheatin’ Mike. Once the match finally started, the crowd was firmly behind Montero, booing every move made by his constantly-cheating opponent. But in the end, it was Barstow’s overconfidence that cost him as he went for a forearm smash using his casted wrist but, when Montero ducked the move, Barstow ran headfirst into his own cast, sandwiching it between his head and the ringpost. Montero made the quick cover to pick up the win as Shannon coyly cheered her man from ringside. </p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong>‘New School’ Jason Jackson </strong>and <strong>‘The Oriental Assassin’ Kenzo Isozaki </strong>came out to the ring next. Jackson haughtily grabbed the microphone. <span style="color:#FF0000;">“So, like, tonight I – the Terror of Temecula, the Sage of Sacramento, the Berkeley Bulldog, the Pride of Palo Alto – ‘New School’ Jason Jackson, and my associate – the ‘Oriental Assassin’ Kenzo Isozaki – finally get to wage, like, war on those slob Hawaiians, Eruption and Tsunami. And when we pin their fat shoulders to the mat, the East-West Connection will walk out of here as, like, the TWL Tag Team Champions!” </span>As if on cue, Double Disaster – <strong>Eruption</strong> and <strong>Tsunami </strong>– ran down to the ring, chasing the challengers from the squared circle as they posed with their TWL Title belts. <strong>C-</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p>

<em>Billy’s Take</em>: This was a tremendous clash of styles. The painted champions are an exceptionally powerful tandem while Isozaki is lightning-quick and uber-athletic and Jackson is cerebral and calculating. Jackson looked to have a flash pinfall win after rolling up Tsunami and grabbing a handful of tights to help gain leverage. But Eruption broke the count at 2 ½, causing Jackson to throw a tantrum. His partner similarly nearly had the match won after a particularly vicious-looking roundhouse kick to Eruption’s jaw. But once again, the champions escaped near-certain loss. In the end, it was the experience of Double Disaster that saw them through as a blind tag to Eruption allowed the Samoan duo to surprise Jackson with a Tidal Wave, giving the champs a hard-fought victory and frustrating the challengers. </p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong>TWL Title Cage Match: Chief Two Eagles © v. Johnny Lawless</strong></p><p>

<em>Billy’s Take</em>: The crowd was on edge for this super clash. Lawless strode arrogantly to the ring first, only pausing to slightly adjust his black mask. When the champion emerged, the crowd stood as one – cheering exuberantly for the regal Chief. Like Lawless, Chief Two Eagles paused only briefly – though in this case it was to hand a young boy at ringside a single, white eagle feather from his massive headdress. Once the cage was closed and the match started, these two men circled one another warily, each unwilling to make a mistake. But soon the pace of the match picked up and the two had spilled pints of blood on the otherwise-blue mat. Lawless hit a Power Lariat but was too fatigued to make the cover. Then Chief Two Eagles hit the Tomahawk Chop from the second rope, but likewise had too little energy to successfully pin the challenger. The Texas Outlaws – <strong>Mean Mark Green </strong>and <strong>Floyd ‘F-Bomb’ Bowman </strong>– sprinted to the ring. Green tried to jimmy the door of the cage while Bowman screamed something about having intercourse with the corpse of Two Eagles’ mother in a teepee. Despite their best efforts, the Outlaws could not break into the cage. After ducking another Power Lariat attempt, Two Eagles hit a bodyslam on Lawless and then slowly climbed the cage until he perched on the top of the steel structure! He gingerly rose to his feet and then leapt at the rising Lawless, bringing the edge of his hand across the forehead of the black-masked challenger. He slumped over the prone Texas Outlaw and made the cover for the three count as the crowd roared. </p><p>
