<strong><em>Match #1: George St. Pierre (-640) vs. Joe Scarola (+510)</em></strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Round 1:</strong> Quickly GSP goes for a takedown and gets it. Scarola goes for a triangle but GSP spins into side control. He has the arm triangle and submits Scarola.</p><p> </p><p>

<em><span style="color:#0000FF;">Official Result: 'Rush' Georges St. Pierre defeats Joe Scarola (Submission (Arm Triangle) in 2:54 of round 1). The match was rated as being Great.</span></em></p><p> </p><p>

<strong><em>Match #2: Mike van Arsdale (+150) vs. Kurt Angle (-190)</em></strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Round 1:</strong> MVA goes for a takedown quickly but Angle is able to stop him. He goes for another takedown but once again he is stopped. Angle then pushes him up against the cage, picks him up and slams him to the mat. Angle lays and prays for the rest of the round.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Round 2:</strong> Angle quickly goes for the takedown and succeeds. Let’s see if there is a little more action on the ground this time. Angle continually smothers MVA and he can’t shift Angle off him. Eventually the referee stands it up. MVA goes for two takedowns but can’t get either and the round ends. 10-9 Angle.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Round 3:</strong> MVA throws haymakers to make his way for the takedown and he can’t get it. Angle then goes for the take down and gets it. Angle can’t shift to any positions and the round ends with him stuck in guard. 10-9 Angle.</p><p> </p><p>

All three judges give a score of 30-27.</p><p>

<strong>Round 1:</strong> Miller quickly shoots on Filho but to no avail. Filho throws some strikes but Miller backs up against the cage. Filho gets him in a clinch and takes him to the ground. Filho gains side control. Filho rolls and takes his back as the round ends. 10-9 Filho.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Round 2:</strong> Filho again forces him up against the cage and tries a slam but he can’t get it and Miller goes for the takedown but he can’t get it. Both men continue to try and take the other down and neither succeeds. Not much to separate the two. Filho 10-9.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Round 3:</strong> Filho goes for a takedown but Miller goes for a right cross that is too slow to land and Filho completes the takedown. Miller throws up a triangle but Filho blocks it. Filho continues to try and pass guard but he can’t. Miller goes for an armbar and uses the attempted Kimura to flip Filho to side control. The round ends. 10-9 Miller.</p><p> </p><p>

All three judges give a score of 29-28.</p><p>

<strong><em>Match #4: Yves Edwards (-210) vs. Samy Schiavo (+160)</em></strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Round 1: </strong>Edwards quickly counters a jab with a stinging left hook. He avoids a jab and hits a massive right hand that sends Samy to the ground! Yves tries to finish with soccer kicks and stomps but he can’t put him away so he goes into guard and quickly passes to side control. Edwards knees the ribs and forces Samy to gives up his back. Yves goes for a RNC but Samy defends it well and the round ends. 10-9 Yves.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Round 2: </strong>Not much to separate the two and Samy did a better job using his strikes on the feet. Yves tried a takedown but couldn’t get it. Tough round, definitely a toss up. 10-9 Samy.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Round 3: </strong>Edwards starts with a nice counter jab and looks like he wants to wrestle with Samy. Samy is able to counter some slow strikes with jabs and hooks and is definitely controlling the striking. Close round. 10-9 Samy.</p><p> </p><p>

Judge #1 has given 29-28 to Edwards.</p><p>

<strong>Round 1:</strong> Griffin goes for a takedown but Vlad blocks it and forces Griffin into a clinch. Vlad pushes him up against the cage but then Griffin uses his strength to reverse the position. Griffin tries the takedown but can’t get it so he separates from the clinch. Griffin comes back in and gets underhooks and uses a trip to take Vlad down. Grffin wins the round 10-9.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Round 2:</strong> Griffin hits him with a right that sends Vlad to the ground. Vlad throws some upkicks but Grifin lowers the boom with a huge strike knocking Vlad out immediately!</p><p> </p><p>

<strong><em>Match #6: Wesley Correira (+150) vs. Pedro Rizzo (-200)</em></strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Round 1:</strong> Rizzo hits a quick jab and they circle for a bit trying to gain control but Cabbage ends up using his side to push Rizzo up against the cage. Cabbage hits some strikes and control the rest of the round there in the clinch. 10-9 Wes.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Round 2:</strong> Rizzo hits a hard body kick and a powerful right hook to the body. A feint leaves Cabbage wide open and Rizzo knocks Cabbage down with a barrage of big rights. Rizzo sees he is dazed and grabs an arm and goes for the armbar! It’s over.</p><p> </p><p>

UFC Lightweight Championship Bout</em></strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Round 1:</strong> Pulver misses with a jab and Penn hits a nasty kick to the knee. Penn then looks for the takedown and gets it. Penn moves to half guard. Penn tries to gain side control but Pulver does not let him and the round ends. 10-9 Penn.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Round 2:</strong> Penn continues to try and get this fight to the ground by trying to clinch with Pulver but Pulver’s footwork is great and jabs and continually stops Penn from getting to close with the strikes. Penn didn’t do much but he did press the action but I am giving it to Pulver 10-9.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Round 3: </strong>Penn counters a jab with a big strike to the body. This allows Penn to get close enough and push Pulver up against the cage. Penn uses a foot stomp and tries to take Pulver to the ground but Pulver is having some great defense. Pulver reverses and puts Penn against the cage. Penn then reverses the position back and goes for a takedown this time getting it. Pulver goes for a triangle but Penn doesn’t allow it to happen. Penn wins the round.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Round 4: </strong>Both men look tried and Penn throws a few strikes but nothing really lands and then Penn goes for a takedown but Pulver stops it. Pulver uses his jab again to keep Penn away and Pulver shoots for a takedown but doesn’t get it. The round ends and Pulver landed more strikes 10-9 jens.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Round 5: </strong>Close fight and this round will decide things. Pulver clinches and pushes Penn against the cage and launches a elbow strike, but Penn sees it coming and uses his wrestling to reverse the positon. Penn uses shots to the body. Pulver reverses the position and uses dirty boxing to his advantage. Pulver blasts penn with a big right hand. Pulver goes for a takedown but Penn sprawls and uses it to take Jens’ back and takes him to the ground. End of the round 10-9 Penn.</p><p> </p><p>

All three judges have given 49-46.</p><p>

So the winner, by unanimous decision, is BJ 'The Prodigy' Penn!</p><p> </p><p>

Silva throws a barrage of big rights that land. Belfort collapses and Silva sensing blood pounces and forces the referee to come in and call the fight.</p><p> </p><p>

UFC 44: Liddell vs. Henderson

 

Match #1: Nick Diaz (-330) vs. Thiago Alves (+260)

 

Round 1: Diaz clinches with Alves and he gets underhooks and goes for a takedown and takes him to the mat. Diaz is able to secure side control and tries to take his back but he can’t do it. Diaz goes for a guillotine but he can’t get it. Diaz locks in an arm triangle, Alves breaks it as the round ends. 10-9 Diaz.

 

Round 2: Diaz controls the round on the ground.

 

Round 3: Diaz catches a body kick and takes Alves down. Diaz gets to half guard and goes for a kimura but Alves blocks it. Diaz controls the ground for the win.

 

All three judges score the contest as 30-27.

Match #2: Floyd Mayweather Jr. (+220) vs. Caol Uno (-280)

 

Round 1: Uno goes for a takedown but it is sprawled. Uno then uses his wrestling and pushes Floyd up against the cage, Uno hits a short right hook that rocks him, Uno hits another right hook and that sends Mayweather to the ground. Uno quickly slaps on an armbar! It’s over.

 

Official Result: 'Uno Shoten' Caol Uno defeats 'Pretty Boy' Floyd Mayweather Jr. (Submission (Armbar) in 3:29 of round 1). The match was rated as being Great.

 

Match #3: Antonio McKee (-300) vs. Mikey Burnett (+230)

 

Round 1: Burnett hits a few jabs and McKee goes for the takedown but its stopped and Burnett pushes him up against the cage. Burnett goes for a takedown but can’t get it. Burnett goes for a trip takedown from behind and can’t get it. He is relentless and finally gets the fight to the ground. Burnett throws some strikes but not a lot of damage. 10-9 Burnett.

 

Round 2: McKee comes in looking for a takedown but Burnett goes for a guillotine and he can’t get it and Mckee completes the takedown. Mckee forces him up against the cage. Burnett throws some small strikes but no damage. McKee doesn’t do much and they stand up and then McKee takes him right down as the round ends. 10-9 McKee.

 

Round 3: Burnett hits some jabs and Mckee goes for the takedown that is stopped but McKee is able to force him up against the cage. McKee gets underhooks and goes for the takedown and gets it. McKee lays and prays for the round.

 

Official Result: 'Mandingo' Antonio McKee defeats Mikey Burnett (Unanimous Decision in 5:00 of round 3). The match was rated as being Average.

 

Match #4: Robbie Lawler (-130) vs. Frank Trigg (-170)

 

Round 1: High stakes in this match as both men will be looking for a title shot in the near future. Lawler throws some strikes and Trigg goes for the takedown but Lawler moves. Trigg goes for another and misses. Lawler circles trying to find his range against Trigg. Near the end of the round Trigg drops down and gets a single leg takedown. The round ends and that takedown wins it for Trigg.

 

Round 2: Trigg goes for a takedown and ducks under a right and gets the takedown. Trigg gets the full mount and goes for an armbar. Trigg fully extends it and forces Lawler to submit!

 

Official Result: 'Twinkle Toes' Frank Trigg defeats 'Ruthless' Robbie Lawler (Submission (Armbar) in 2:34 of round 2). The match was rated as being Decent.

 

Match #5: Quinton Jackson (-550) vs. Jason Brilz (+430)

 

Round 1: Jackson scores with a takedown early. He moves to side control as the round ends. 10-9 Jackson.

 

Round 2: Jackson pushes Brilz against the cage and knocks him down with a hard uppercut. He mounts Brilz and throws strikes until the referee steps in.

 

Official Result: Quinton 'Rampage' Jackson defeats Jason Brilz (TKO (Strikes) in 2:45 of round 2). The match was rated as being Average.

 

Match #6: Mirko Filipovic (-990) vs. Ibragim Madomedov (+790)

 

Round 1: Cro Cop hits a nice combination that finishes with a beauty left cross. Ibragim misses a left kick and Cro Cop his a murderous left hand knocking Ibragim out immediately.

 

Official Result: Mirko 'Cro Cop' Filipovic defeats Ibragim Magomedov (Knock Out (Punch) in 1:58 of round 1). The match was rated as being Good.

 

Match #7: Pete Williams (+870) vs. Frank Mir (-1100)

 

Round 1: Mir quickly looks for the takedown. He doesn’t get it but you can bet it won’t be the last. Mir picks him up and gets a huge slam. Mir works to side control and rolls behind Williams. Mir works for the RNC and twice Williams stops it and then Mir gets it but the round ends. 10-9 Mir.

 

Round 2: Mir avoids the strikes and takes Williams to the ground again. But instead of going for the submission he throws barrage of strikes and the fight ends!

 

Official Result: Frank Mir defeats 'El Duro' Pete Williams (TKO (Strikes) in 3:44 of round 2). The match was rated as being Decent.

 

Match #8: Chuck Liddell © (+350) vs. Dan Henderson (-450)

Round 1: Liddell throws a spinning back fist that just misses and then he kicks him in the leg. Henderson goes for a takedown but Liddell has great defence. He goes for another but Liddell counters with a clean left jab. Liddell hits a few more jabs. Henderson tries another takedown and stopped. Round ends. 10-9 Liddell

 

Round 2: Liddell uses some strikes and Henderson goes for a takedown but he can’t get it. Near the end of the round Henderson catches a body kick and takes Liddell down. The round ends but I believe that takedown wins the round for Henderson.

 

Round 3: Henderson goes for a takedown but Liddell stuffs it. They close in in a grapple and Henderson picks him up and slams him! Henderson quickly moves to side control. Henderson moves to the back and goes for a RNC but Liddell fights it off. Henderson goes for another RNC but he can’t get it and Henderson gets on top and tosses bombs on Liddell and the referee stops it!

 

Official Result: 'Dangerous' Dan Henderson defeats 'The Iceman' Chuck Liddell (TKO (Strikes) in 4:58 of round 3). The match was rated as being Decent.
