Alyx Macquarie vs. Harry Simonson - APW Commonwealth Title Match

alyx need to have longer reign so he wins.

Maurice Mackenzie vs. Swoop McCarthy

Could go either way but with Alyx as the cahmp having Swoop win this one makes more sense to me.

Prophecy vs. Killdozer

Killdozer has been on the losing side for most of this feud so I´d say that he gets the win this time.

Rick Stantz vs. Blake Belushi - No DQ, Hair vs. Hair match.

I think that Steph will interfere and cost Belushi this one while turning heel in hte progress.

Lone Shark vs. Necromancer - APW Lucha-Australia Title Match - 2/3 Falls.

I just like Shark slighly more.

Bonus Point Question! Reverb is a masked, repackaged person well known across the Australian scene. His name is consistent with his previous name - who on earth is he?

So I missed last week. Don't know how I never saw the thread or forgot to dig it up.

Alyx Macquarie vs. Harry Simonson - APW Commonwealth Title Match

Still early in Alyx's reign.

Maurice Mackenzie vs. Swoop McCarthy

Swoop is still bigger in my eyes.

Prophecy vs. Killdozer

I just dont see how Dozer wins. Never thought Id say this during his huge title riegn, but I did.

Rick Stantz vs. Blake Belushi - No DQ, Hair vs. Hair match.

If Stantz is as over as you say he is, I'm going with the swerve somewhat and go with Stantz.

Lone Shark vs. Necromancer - APW Lucha-Australia Title Match - 2/3 Falls.

Mostly a guess.

Bonus Point Question! Reverb is a masked, repackaged person well known across the Australian scene. His name is consistent with his previous name - who on earth is he? I may know too much about Oz but I think its almost obvious to be Echo. Of course I've been wrong before so yeah.

Sorry guys, I know it's annoying but I move house early tomorrow morning, and have been completely preoccupied with the move for the past few weekends, hence no update.

I will have no internet for a few weeks, but this will come back as soon as I'm up and running. Many thanks for your support!

Mitch Y. Bryson: Ladies and gentlemen - welcome to APW's Beachfront Breakdown! One of the world's most cryptically named events actually makes a lot of sense this year. Tonight, we see the culmination of numerous breakdowns in friendship, in alliances and in one notable case - in mental state.

Frank Mucciolo: And to top it all off, wonderboy Alyx Macquarie will square up to - and kick the head off - Harry Simonson - live on internet PPV tonight!

MB: We are getting word that the Brothers Mackenzie have just arrived - let's head down there and see if Lucien Wilder can grab a word with them.

Maurice Mackenzie with Killdozer

The two massive men are shown walking into the arena with their kit bags strung over their shoulders, laughing and joking about something in their own unintelligible language. Both exude an air of confidence about tonight - Dozer taking on Prophecy and Mo poised to take down Swoop McCarthy. It's a lighter side of Dozer that we've not often seen, smiling and happy rather than intense and roaring. Mo says something particularly hilarious and Dozer claps him on the back - propelling him forwards, face first, into a concrete wall! Dozer groans and goes to the prone man's side - Maurice is by now completely still - what on earth happened there?

Rating: 59 / C-

MB: Did his own brother just give him a concussion?

FM: Maurice looks pretty badly hurt there - he had that whole fencing response thing going on with his arms up in the air. The boy was out cold.

MB: Probably not how they wanted their evening to start, Frank.

http://rathen.animebots.co.uk/tew/apw/2010/apwbanner.jpg

MB: It's time for our first match of the night - and this has been a long time coming. Rick Stantz vs. Blake Belushi in a "hair versus care" match. What on earth this means we have no idea, and the mentally deranged Stantz hasn't exactly been clear on the specifications either - but this non disqualification match could end up with a hospital stay.

http://rathen.animebots.co.uk/tew/apw/2010/roster/rickstantz.jpghttp://rathen.animebots.co.uk/tew/apw/2010/roster/vs.jpghttp://rathen.animebots.co.uk/tew/apw/2010/roster/blakebelushi.jpghttp://rathen.animebots.co.uk/tew/apw/2010/roster/stephdrucker.jpg

Rick Stantz vs. Blake Belushi (with Stephanie Drucker)

THE ACTION: Some would say this match has been brewing for years, and by the way these two go at it you can see where that opinion has come from. Both immediately gun for each other in an animalistic fist fight, before it spills ringside and weapons get involved. Blake knocks Rick to the ground with blow after blow of a steel chair - but each time Rick gets up and invites more and more punishment. After one particularly splintering blow Blake offers Steph a chair and she has a swing - punishment for him abducting and presumably mistreating her during the last few months. Rick is busted open by this point, bleeding from the scalp, and seems even more out of it than usual. But what unnerves everyone is the unceasing laughter. And each time the blood pulses from his broken skin, he laughs a little more. Disgusting, Blake drags him back into the ring and lays him out flat with an Axe Kick. Blake hooks the leg for the pin - but at no point does the giggling stop.

Rating: 50 / D+

MB: Belushi takes the win - but it's almost as if Stantz didn't care about the match at all. He barely put up a fight.

FM: But now, as promised - it's shaving time! We'll never truly know what the whole "care" thing was about - but it's time for Rick's punishment at the hands of Blake and Steph.

Breathing hard, Blake goes to ringside and collects a metallic barber's case from the storage area. He slides back into the ring and props Rick up against the turnbuckle in the corner.

Opening the case and selecting an electric razor, he initially shaves a massive stripe out of the centre of Rick's hair, further aggravating the blood loss. Rick doesn't struggle, wince or fight back. He just sits, inanely giggling. Blake continues to shave Rick, until a last, almost ceremonial strip is left on the back of Stantz's shaven skull. Blake turns and offers the razor to Steph, to give her some closure. She bends down and lops off the last little bit of hair, leaving Rick with just a few wispy tufts here and there.

MB: Stantz is absolutely humiliated - and probably pretty cold too!

FM: I think it suits him, Mitch.

Steph offers the razor back to Blake - but at the last second gigs him right in the forehead with the sharp prongs at the fronts! Blake's forehead splits open and he recoils in horror, as Stantz springs up from the turnbuckle, trailing blood and hair

FM: Stantz Cutter! Stantz Cutter!

Blake is slammed to the ground and Steph drops the razor on his heaving chest - before leaving the ring hand in hand with the bald Rick Stantz.

MB: .... what the bloody hell did we just see?

Rating: 55 / C-

Necromancer vs. Lone Shark

APW Lucha-Australia Title Match

THE ACTION: In truth a disappointingly poor match for the first debut of the new title, with both men looking a little off their game and blowing a few spots here and there. Management will surely hope that these results will improve, and quick - or this experiment could end up as a massive failure. Necromancer takes the title after looking in control the entire match and winning 2-1, with Necro taking the first fall.

Rating: 31 / E+

MB: Congratulations to Necromancer, who barely missed a step. A great debut for the new title. I'm excited about this division, Frank. It could be amazing.

FM: Let's hope it's better next time around though, Mitch..

A hype video of Killdozer and Prophecy

A brief video is shown of the history between Dozer and Prophecy - showing the numerous times that Dozer was left a quivering wreck by the supernatural force of Prophecy. But, tellingly, time is also given to the recent developments with the monsters - and there's definitely a question mark hanging over Prophecy's current ability to hang with the 300lb Silverback.

Rating: 68 / C+

http://rathen.animebots.co.uk/tew/apw/2010/roster/killdozer.jpghttp://rathen.animebots.co.uk/tew/apw/2010/roster/vs.jpghttp://rathen.animebots.co.uk/tew/apw/2010/roster/theprophecy.jpg

Killdozer vs. Prophecy

THE ACTION: A massively disappointing match here considering the ratings that the angles have been getting. A big, slow, plodding match, where Prophecy showed his greenness and general lack of stamina and ability. Dozer sold the uncertainty over whether Prophecy would mess with him well, but there was little to salvage here. The end came mercifully when Maurice came shuffling down to the ring, and distracted Prophecy. Dozer smashed him from behind with a 300lb Spear, and that was that.

Rating: 40 / D-

MB: A massive win - Prophecy's bubble appears to have been burst - but look at Maurice. He's clearly out on his feet and Dozer is having to help him backstage.

FM: Ominous for his match against McCarthy later. That's just what Swoop needs. More bloody luck.

http://rathen.animebots.co.uk/tew/apw/2010/apwbanner.jpg

http://rathen.animebots.co.uk/tew/apw/2010/roster/seanquartermainne.jpghttp://rathen.animebots.co.uk/tew/apw/2010/roster/with.PNGhttp://rathen.animebots.co.uk/tew/apw/2010/roster/swoopmccarthy.jpg

Sean Quartermainne with Swoop McCarthy

We cut backstage, where SQ is in his office in the JDM Arena, and McCarthy has clearly been summoned in a hurry. McCarthy almost takes the door off its hinges as he barges in - his match is next after all.

Swoop McCarthy: What the hell do you want, boss?? I'm due out of the curtain in the next few seconds.

Sean Quartermainne: That, Mr. McCarthy, is the problem. Haven't you seen that your opponent is clearly out of it tonight? Poor bugger doesn't know which way is up.

SM: So what, you're cancelling the match? This is so much crap, Quarter-

SQ: Did I say that? Did I bloody say that? I am not cancelling your match - I have simply found you a new opponent. Someone very new to the promotion. Normally, he'd be locked away in the Lucha-Australian division, but Victor has granted me an exception tonight. Good luck out there, Mr. McCarthy.

SM: I'll beat them all the same, Sean. Whatever.

Swoop turns about face and races off, clearly not in the mood for any of Sean's usual shenanigans.

Rating: 64 / C

http://rathen.animebots.co.uk/tew/apw/2010/apwbanner.jpg

MB: Well, looks like it's time for McCarthy to find out who his new opponent is. Man O'War, maybe?

FM: Whoever it is, they've not got an easy match coming up. It's just like McCarthy to get given some new blood to feed off of. Like some kind of talentless vampire. How many careers are going to get derailed by being given to that ego?

http://rathen.animebots.co.uk/tew/apw/2010/roster/swoopmccarthy.jpghttp://rathen.animebots.co.uk/tew/apw/2010/roster/vs.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/RqoKU.jpg

Swoop McCarthy vs. Reverb

THE ACTION: A brain shattering burst of static fills the arena as Reverb slides from from the top of the video screen, and the crowd aren't quite sure how to receive him. They do, however, know how to respond to Swoop - and chant along in unison to his theme music. The match is, quite simply, incredible - the best match we've ever had in the APW and it must have given APW management some pause for thought about the stories these two men had planned. A real back and forth match, Reverb matching Swoop blow for blow in a slugfest, but showing a surprising amount of technique on the mat too. Swoop looks taken aback - no-one expected this.

He looks even more surprised when Dozer appears on the ramp and rumbles down to the ring. Reverb smashes the referee to the ground from behind, so he had no idea who knocked him down, and now it's two against one. Unfortunately for Swoop, the tides changed even further, as Maurice Mackenzie sprinted down to join in. Looking absolutely fine and without any sign of his apparent injury, he helps the other pairing punish Swoop. With McCarthy down and badly hurt, he and Dozer quit the ring, leaving Reverb to rouse the referee and take a dramatic debut win - albeit a massively unfair one.

Rating: 69 / C+

MB: What an incredible match! But what a massive loss for McCarthy.

FM: More like what a debut from Reverb! Brutal and taking any chance he can get - he's going to fit right in here.

MB: But Mo clearly faked that injury to get out of the match - I think we'll be hearing plenty more about this on TV next week.

FM: Yawn.

http://rathen.animebots.co.uk/tew/apw/2010/apwbanner.jpg

MB: It's time for the main event of the night. Alyx Macquarie and Harry Simonson have squabbled constantly since they first reached an equal level - and I have a feeling that tonight's match is just the opening salvo.

FM: Especially when you consider that Harry has directly stolen Alyx's Carcano Kick finisher, masquerading it as the "Headshot".

MB: Aside from the fact that he's used the Headshot since 2002, Frank?

FM: Anyone can hide behind facts and numbers, Mitch.

http://rathen.animebots.co.uk/tew/apw/2010/roster/alyxmacquariecommonwealth.jpghttp://rathen.animebots.co.uk/tew/apw/2010/roster/seanquartermainne.jpghttp://rathen.animebots.co.uk/tew/apw/2010/roster/vs.jpghttp://rathen.animebots.co.uk/tew/apw/2010/roster/harrysimonson.jpg

Alyx Macquarie with Sean Quartermainne vs. Harry Simonson

APW Commonwealth Championship Match

http://rathen.animebots.co.uk/tew/apw/2010/roster/commonwealth.jpg

THE ACTION: It was going to take quite something to follow on from Swoop/Reverb, but this was a really solid effort from Simonson and his wily foe. Quartermainne was ever present in the match, being a thorn in the Hitman's side, and as such Harry never really got rolling. Alyx was his usual jovial self, laughing at the older man's misfortune as he got tied up in the ropes attempting a tree of woe, and rewarded him with a knee to the chin that clearly rung Harry's bell. Some decent mat work followed, showing Alyx's development as a fighter, and the champion looked polished. Harry may have lost a step but he was always just one mistake from hitting a Headshot - but Alyx simply didn't make any mistake. A polished defence from Alyx, winning after a Carcano Kick following twenty minutes of action. We go off air with SQ and Alyx celebrating in the ring, over the fallen Hitman.

Rating: 59 / C-

Final Rating: 59 / C-

Predictions competition:

It's just occured to me that I still owe some people creative choices? If you know you have one coming your way, let me know, and I'll ensure you get it.

Well, BB seems to have thrown a fair few people, but I hope you enjoyed it. It's a real "jumping off" point for where I want us to run for the rest of the year. Congratulations on the win, Bolt - I'll have something for you via PM shortly.

Card for APW's Australian Action 8

Necromancer and Reverb vs. X-Calibre and Lone Shark - The Lucha-Australia title was captured by Necromancer at Beachfront Breakdown, but after a strong showing versus Swoop McCarthy you'd have to argue that Reverb looks incredibly suited to the champion role. How will these two work together against the other newcomers?

Alyx Macquarie vs. Blake Belushi - Macquarie defended his title successfully against the Hitman, and will look to continue his roll thus far with a win over the now single blonde. Blake's life looks to be going from bad to worse - can he begin to re-establish himself here?

Dingo Devine vs. Monday Next (APW Australian Championship) - Next is a newcomer with a huge pedigree, but Devine is one of the more dependable and consistent fighters in the APW. Will Dingo defend his title successfully here?

Lexley Robbins and Swoop McCarthy vs. Killdozer and Rick

Stantz - Renewal of old rivalries in our main event, which should be a real blowout. Can Stantz cement himself with these other perenial main eventers?

Quick Picks for APW's Australian Action 8

Lexley Robbins and Swoop McCarthy vs. Killdozer and Rick Stantz

Dingo Devine vs. Monday Next (APW Australian Championship)

Alyx Macquarie vs. Blake Belushi

Necromancer and Reverb vs. X-Calibre and Lone Shark

Its a strangley exciting feeling having a diary you like come back from a coma... :p

Especially when you get a prize!

Lexley Robbins and Swoop McCarthy vs. Killdozer and Rick Stantz

Looks like a Lexley pin to me. Killdozer and Rick are two chaps with storylines who need momentum

Dingo Devine vs. Monday Next (APW Australian Championship)

Dingo has been a great character

Alyx Macquarie vs. Blake Belushi

You love Alyx and Blake is going to get attacked. Isnt he?

Necromancer and Reverb vs. X-Calibre and Lone Shark

Two of my favourite renders. I love that sort of worker. Perfect in HIW

Lexley Robbins and Swoop McCarthy vs. Killdozer and Rick Stantz

Could go either way but Stabtz looks like the weak link here.

Dingo Devine vs. Monday Next (APW Australian Championship)

Devine continues to hold the belt as if I remember right Next haven´t really done much so far.

Alyx Macquarie vs. Blake Belushi

Alyx is enjoying a big push and he stays strong here.

Necromancer and Reverb vs. X-Calibre and Lone Shark

Heels just seem stronger here with Necromancer winning the belt and Reverb getting a big (tainted but still) win over Swoop.

Mitch Y. Bryson: The dust is still settling on our critically acclaimed Beachfront Breakdown iPPV, but we're back on air with you tonight for your next installment of APW action!

Frank Mucciolo: Macquarie cemented the fact that he is the undisputed champion of Australian Pro Wrestling, and Steph Drucker finally revealed her true colours. She could reveal much more to me privately, if she likes.

MB: By the looks of it, Frank, that kind of talk could get you a Stantz Cutter from now on, as the two appear to be an item. How will Belushi respond? He's slated to be up second tonight against your aforementioned champ Alyx - not an easy match for sure.

FM: It'll be a glorious slaughter and Macquarie will show again and again why he's the poster boy of The Masters.

MB: We are getting word that the Brothers Mackenzie have just arrived - let's head down there and see if Lucien Wilder can grab a word with them.

Reverb and Necromancer vs. X-Calibre and Lone Shark

THE ACTION: Reverb impressed everyone with a stunning, if flawed, victory over Swoop McCarthy on his debut, and Necromancer is the current Lucha-Australian champion. Reverb seemed disinterested in allowing Necro to become involved in the match at all, forcing the champ to steal tags in order to get involved at all. X-Calibre and Lone Shark looked solid and presentable throughout, but Reverb is a cut above the rest in the division and scored the pin on Lone Shark; leaving Necromancer to look on nervously at the man who would most likely be coming after him.

Rating: 47 / D

http://rathen.animebots.co.uk/tew/apw/2010/roster/victorgoliath.jpg

Victor Goliath

Victor's music hits as he saunters out onto the top of the staging area, microphone in hand.

MB: And here comes Lucha-Australia manager Victor Goliath - a seldom seen figure who is likely to rise in prominence as his division grows!

Victor Goliath: A very impressive win, Reverb, as we all predicted. Necromancer, you've got to feel a little nervous looking at the power in those knees of his?

Necromancer shakes his head and tries to argue, beckoning at Reverb to come and try something.

VG: No, no, no! I am not here to book any matches or cause you problems, champ. I am here to offer Reverb a new chance. Sean Quartermainne wants you for the main roster, buddy. And you just need to say the word. You could be headlining. SQ has offered us a very lucrative trade between the two divisions - what do you think?

Reverb saunters up the ramp, as silent as the night, and walks straight past Goliath. He doesn't say a word or even look at the GM as he goes. Embarrassed, Victor follows him.

MB: Well, an answer of sorts I suppose!

Alyx Macquarie with Sean Quartermainne vs. Blake Belushi

THE ACTION: Blake, once again, looks completely lost without Steph Drucker. Sure, he shaved Stantz bald last week, but at what cost? He was like a fish out of water in the ring tonight, and Macquarie is never going to let opportunities like this go by. A Carcano Kick later and the Commonwealth champion wins clean, leaving Belushi broken in the ring - not just broken hearted.

http://rathen.animebots.co.uk/tew/apw/2010/roster/swoopmccarthy.jpg

Swoop McCarthy

Swooooop! The iconic theme music hits as McCarthy slips out from behind the curtain, brandishing a microphone. Slapping hands with his fans as he walks down the ring, he climbs up and into the ring.

Swoop McCarthy: Well, it's not been my best couple of weeks. Downed by Reverb, pestered by the double trouble retard duo of Mackenzies. Not how I wanted April to end. But, I have the chance to correct all that later tonight with Lex. But that's not why I'm here. I'm here to call out Maurice Mackenzie once and for all. Maurice, how about you get out here?

Swoop waits.. and waits. And waits. There's nothing. It's almost painful.

SM: Maurice? Seriously. Where the hell are you tonight, big boy? Busily being fake concussed by the human dump truck all over again? It's bad enough that you fake out of our original match - but ignoring a man is just rude. So, Mo-Mac, get your arse out here.

He waits again, but he's just getting nothing tonight - and the crowd are getting vocal about it at him.

SM: This is ridiculous! Maurice Mackenzie. At Caged Showdown, I challenge you to a match to sort all this crap once and for all. No interference from your big dumb brother, no escape, no avoidance. The best man wins, Maurice. I don't care if you don't accept this challenge. I will put you in that cage, and I will tear you to pieces. Enough is enough. I am Swoop McCarthy - and I will put a stop to you, Mo.

Rating: 60 / C

MB: Strong words from McCarthy - it takes a lot to get him to drop his bouncy and happy persona - but Maurice appears to have done it.

FM: But that's probably just what Maurice wants. Swoop gets his power from his support - if Mo can make him alienate them then he's surely got the upper hand.

Dingo Devine vs. Monday Next

APW Australian Championship Match

http://rathen.animebots.co.uk/tew/apw/2010/roster/australian.jpg

A big match for one half of new tag team Banzai Piledrivers, Monday Next looked lively and raring to go against the older champion. Dingo Devine, whose relationship with protege Alex Banks seems to have been put on the backburner with this title reign, never looked too out of his depth, although the Muay Thai knees that Next employs had him rocked and glassy eyed on more than one occasion. However, Monday didn't quite have enough tonight, and found one attempted knee hooked and then Next was lifted in the air for a big fisherman's suplex pin - and Dingo managed to retain.

Rating: 50 / D+

MB: A great effort from Next - but Dingo just had it. With a bit more practise, Monday Next could be our next Australian champion.

FM: I would imagine Sean Quartermainne has something to say about that though, Mitch. It's the only title his stable doesn't hold.

http://rathen.animebots.co.uk/tew/apw/2010/apwbanner.jpg

http://rathen.animebots.co.uk/tew/apw/2010/roster/seanquartermainne.jpg

Sean Quartermainne

MB: Well, speak of the devil. Quartermainne clearly has an announcement - presumably about the Oz title, looking at timings.

FM: Shut up and let the boss speak, Mitch!

Sean clears his throat on screen as he normally does. His delivery is slow paced as usual, his upper class accent cutting through the normal Australian burr.

Sean Quartermainne: The Masters is a successful stable. A group commonly united for one thing - glory. We work together to show that we are the very best that this continent has to offer, and we have been massively successful so far. Mr. Macquarie is the best Commonwealth champion that we've ever seen here, and Messers. Williams and Peterson are an excellent tag team unit that can take down any team that wishes to try themselves out against them.

He coughs, looking unhappy and scratching at his beard a little.

SQ: Yet there is one belt that eludes us and prevents us from moving on as we would like. Once we've taken the APW, the sky is the limit. Yet my chosen champion, Mr. Standish, has yet to re-secure the title and ensure our triple crown. This is a major disappointment to me and the other members of The Masters.

He takes a moment to pause and focuses his eyes on the camera.

SQ: So, I am booking Mr. Standish in a match at Caged Showdown against Dingo Devine and, hell, why not - Monday Next. A triple threat cage match. And Mr. Standish, if you don't come out of the match with the belt - your membership of The Masters - and all the benefits that come with it - are revoked.

Rating: 43 / D

MB: Woah - SQ means business.

FM: It's fine - Stan's got a match that easy in the bag.

http://rathen.animebots.co.uk/tew/apw/2010/apwbanner.jpg

MB: It's time for a main event - and Swoop McCarthy is up for quite a fight tonight! He's got Lex Robbins in his corner - but facing against them is the dangerously unhinged Rick Stantz and of course the behemoth himself - Killdozer. Who is going to come out on top here tonight, Frank?

FM: It can be no other than Killdozer. Stantz took Robbins to pieces before and even caused Lexley to lose his tag team - and now he's teamed up with Drucker there's no reason that Rick can't be a megastar.

http://rathen.animebots.co.uk/tew/apw/2010/roster/swoopmccarthy.jpghttp://rathen.animebots.co.uk/tew/apw/2010/roster/lexleyrobbins.jpghttp://rathen.animebots.co.uk/tew/apw/2010/roster/vs.jpghttp://rathen.animebots.co.uk/tew/apw/2010/roster/killdozer.jpghttp://rathen.animebots.co.uk/tew/apw/2010/roster/stantz.jpghttp://rathen.animebots.co.uk/tew/apw/2010/roster/stephdrucker.jpg

Swoop McCarthy and Lexley Robbins vs. Killdozer and Rick Stantz (with Stephanie Drucker)

THE ACTION: We are all set for an intense brawl here and McCarthy and Dozer go at it toe to toe like they've not had even a slight cessation of hostilities since their last big rivalries. Both men have had interests in other areas since their last major clash but they slug the crap out of each other for seven full minutes as the crowd lap it up. There's no sign of Maurice at all, but Steph Drucker is heeling it up perfectly in her new role and screeching at Rick to get involved. Rick takes the tag but immediately eats a Swoop DDT - it takes Nate to get involved to prevent the pin. This was a really good match all round, with no major heel tactics from Dozer and Stantz. However, Steph snuck round and tied Swoop's boot to the ring post without him realising, which meant he couldn't get into the ring to save Lex from a 300lb Spear, followed up by a Stantz Cutter. Rick, roaring with laughter as McCarthy struggles, grabs the pin - and Swoop's bad couple of weeks continues.

Card for APW's Australian Action 9

Stan Standish vs. Swoop McCarthy - Life doesn't get any easier for Stan. Win the Australian title back at Caged Showdown or be kicked out of the stable that's given him everything - and now take on a royally pissed off Swoop McCarthy. Ouch.

Harry Simonson vs. Rick Stantz - Stantz has grabbed attention with his new look and attitude. Simonson keeps it the same, but is trying to earn yet another shot at Macquarie, and won't lay down for Stantz.

The Masters vs. Banzai Piledrivers (Motty Kuroda and Monday Next) - A possible look at the next #1 contenders for the tag titles with Kuroda and Next teaming up against the wily Masters. Can Quartermainne's boys continue to look strong?

Devilfish vs. Quick Silver - A debut for Quick Silver here in the Lucha-Australia division - will he get off to a flyer?

Special bonus dark match action: Prophecy vs. Maurice Mackenzie - In an untelevised match, these two will go at it, and we'll bring you the finish of the match during the show. Maurice ignored McCarthy's challenge last week - is he still 'injured'?

Quick Picks for APW's Australian Action 9

Stan Standish vs. Swoop McCarthy

Harry Simonson vs. Rick Stantz

The Masters vs. Banzai Piledrivers

Devilfish vs. Quick Silver

Stan Standish vs. Swoop McCarthy

Swoop might have had a bad week or two but Standish haven´t set world into fire either so Swoop takes the win.

Harry Simonson vs. Rick Stantz

Simonson seems to have the gatekeeper role and Stantz looks like he is getting pushed so I go with Stantz getting a big win likely via cheating.

The Masters vs. Banzai Piledrivers

Masters are more established team and I would expect Motty and Next to need get few wins against some lesser opponents before they can beat Masters.

Devilfish vs. Quick Silver

Devilfish is better from these two and likely more over too.

Prophecy vs. Maurice Mackenzie

Maurice has a match with Swoop in next PPV while Prophecy so far isn´t having a match announced so right now it looks like Maurice needs the win more.

Stan Standish vs. Swoop McCarthy

Gotta go with Swoop. Standish just isn't in a positon to go over Swoop.

Harry Simonson vs. Rick Stantz

Not gonna lie, I had huge doubts about Stantz on his own. I've always considered him to be the Jannetty of the team myself. But he looks like he's well on his way.

The Masters vs. Banzai Piledrivers

Banzai Piledrivers may be people to watch in the future, but The Masters are here and now.

Devilfish vs. Quick Silver

Sure.

Prophecy vs. Maurice Mackenzie

After the big match with Dozer, its Prophecy hasn't really done much if I remember right. Unless there is some sort of shenanigans, I'll go with Mo. Tough to call.

Stan Standish vs. Swoop McCarthy

Stan is seemingly in trouble. He might pull off a big result to stay in the Masters but he wont beat Swoop.

Harry Simonson vs. Rick Stantz

Poor Harry. Hes great and all - but clearly creative dont have much for him due to his lack of individuality.

The Masters vs. Banzai Piledrivers

A dirty win for the Masters is always a good bet

Devilfish vs. Quick Silver

Arrrr! Inside info may be pointing to excellent stuff coming up for Devilfish...

Prophecy vs. Maurice Mackenzie

If Mo Mac is having another rumble with Swoop he needs to look tough

Mitch Y. Bryson: Welcome, everyone, to the 9th episode of APW’s Australian Action. I’m Mitch Bryson and with me, as ever, is Frank Mucciolo. Frank, we’ve got a wealth of matches tonight – but we’ve just had a match before we came on air, for the first time.

Frank Mucciolo: And what a match it was! That lumbersome, tiresome, holier than thou idiot Prophecy finally got his arse well and truly beaten.

MB: Prophecy had the upper hand throughout the match, let’s be fair. It’s only after Nathan Mackenzie, the literal Killdozer, got involved that Maurice picked up the win.

FM: If Dozer had done anything, he would have got his brother disqualified. Come on, Mitch. Don’t you know anything?

MB: For goodness sake. Frank, sometimes I just... well, nevermind. Up first tonight is tag team action – newcomers the Banzai Piledrivers looking to take a significant scalp against The Masters. And it looks like Lanny Williams is back in the team for one night only, with Stan in our main event tonight. Over to the ring!

The Masters with Sean Quartermainne vs. Banzai Piledrivers

THE ACTION: Technically a bit of a disappointment considering the talent of those in the ring, yet it was a decent opener and enabled us to further some of the storylines that we are trying to establish. Williams looked out of shape and a little out of place, and was picked apart by the stiff knees and blows of Monday Next. Keeping Peterson out of the ring like experts, the Piledrivers never really looked like losing this, and picked up a shock win following a Monday Next Flash Forward that left Lanny Williams flat on his back and Peterson and Quartermainne looking thoroughly unhappy. A familiar music starts to play.

Dingo Devine and Alex Banks

MB: Now hang on, what are these two doing out here? Neither are scheduled to compete tonight?

FM: Looks like they've got designs on someone in the ring...

They do. Dingo and his disciple ignore the Masters who are struggling up the ramp with Lanny, and charge straight for Next and Kuroda. A straight forward beatdown happens, with Devine and Banks getting rid of Kuroda and focusing their major efforts on Monday. By the end of the assault he's bloodied and beaten, and needs his partner to help him out as Dingo stands and laughs.

Rating: 36 / C-

MB: Now what in the blue hell was that about?

FM: Taking out the nearest competitor for the Australian or Tag titles, I would imagine. Smart move, smart move.

Devilfish vs. Quick Silver

THE ACTION: More torrid in-ring action as the Lucha-Australia division continues to flounder. This time it's Devilfish taking the win, moving his record to 3-1 in the APW at this point.

Swoop McCarthy with Maurice Mackenzie

A short video airs, reminding us of McCarthy's challenge to meet Maurice in a cage at Caged Showdown. It emphasises McCarthy's long wait alone in the ring, as Mo never appeared - but the video ends with the caption - "Swoop's Challenge - Answered Tonight!"

MB: Well, at least we'll know if we have these two in a cage by the end of this evening - what a bloodbath that would prove to be.

Harry Simonson vs. Rick Stantz with Steph Drucker

THE ACTION: The ever dangerous Rick Stantz looked massively confident (or he's finally become so insane he feels no fear, who knows) as he sized up one of the true stalwarts of the Australian scene. Harry put him on his arse pretty quickly with a snap suplex, but Rick was having none of it and went on the offensive. However, Simonson was able to counter after a mistimed Stantz Cutter, and Rick found himself locked in an anklelock and almost on the verge of tapping.

Alyx Macquarie suddenly appeared on the ramp and came running down, causing Simonson to break the lock and try to head off his opponent at the pass too. This allowed Rick launch himself over the ropes, taking all three men out. The referee looked flustered and not sure what to do about this, but finally gave up when Blake Belushi also appeared from backstage and joined in the fight. Throwing the match out as a double disqualification, the match devolved into chaos until security managed to seperate and eject all four men.

MB: It's time for the main event of the night! Stan Standish, under threat to lose his spot in The Masters, looks to gain some form of momentum. But it's against the indomitable Swoop McCarthy. Good bloody luck, Stan.

FM: And look, Mitch - Stan's coming out alone. No Masters backup here.

http://rathen.animebots.co.uk/tew/apw/2010/roster/stanstandish.jpghttp://rathen.animebots.co.uk/tew/apw/2010/roster/vs.jpghttp://rathen.animebots.co.uk/tew/apw/2010/roster/swoopmccarthy.jpg

Stan Standish vs. Swoop McCarthy

THE ACTION: Stan, holder of the biggest win streak in APW history, now looks to be firmly down in the dumps. McCarthy ran him ragged, looking to blow off some of the steam and embarrassment that he faced as a result of Maurice not responding to his challenge last week. Crunching slam after crunching slam, with the obligatory pandering to the crowd, and McCarthy had another win and continued to look pretty strong. On the contrary - Standish simply didn't seem to know what had hit him.

Rating: 56 / C-

??: Hey, hey! Swoop! Swoop "I am Swoop McCarthy and need to keep saying that because I'm so stupid I'll forget my own name". Hey, Swoop - what's up?

MB: It's got to be Maurice Mackenzie.

FM: Oh shit, he's not alone!

The Brothers Mackenzie

Maurice Mackenzie: I've got your answer right here, Swoop. Here, let me spell it out nice and clear.

He nods at Killdozer, and the ramp thunders as over 500lb of mass charge down the ring at the unlucky Swoop. A short yet merciless beatdown follows, with Swoop eating both a 300lb Spear, a High Breed kneedrop from a recovering Stan Standish, and finally a rolling DDT from Maurice himself. Seemingly happy with this, Maurice and Nate roll out of the ring, taunting the fans as they go.

MB: That wasn't an answer - that was just punching!

FM: When you've said one word in your APW career, sometimes that's enough.

MB: But he didn't even challenge Dozer! We're not even one tiny step forward to knowing if they're going to fight at Caged Showdown. Folks, hopefully this will all be cleared up next week at the tenth Australian Action show! Goodnight!

I imagine my irregular updating schedule has thrown off some people - hopefully we haven't lost Nick or Jingo for good! Newcomers are more than welcome too!

Card for APW's Australian Action 10

Harry Simonson and Blake Belushi vs. Alyx Macquarie and Rick Stantz - A big clash, set due to the nonsense that surrounded Harry and Rick's match last week. That ended in a draw - will this one devolve into similar chaos or will one of these teams grab some momentum ahead of Caged Showdown?

Swoop McCarthy and Monday Next vs. Killdozer and Dingo Devine - More top class tag action, with yet more promising to happen. One thing is for certain though, Maurice Mackenzie has been banned from ringside - and if he is involved in any way, he will be fired!

Necromancer vs. Reverb vs. X-Calibre - APW Lucha-Australia Title Match - Necromancer's first title defence is against two men who will look to leave him on the duck egg. Reverb stormed into the APW with a win over McCarthy, but X-Calibre hasn't looked too secure as of yet. Will the title change hands in this "First to two falls" match?

Boo Smithson vs. Maurice Mackenzie - The opposite to earlier applies. Killdozer is banned from interfering, and will be fired if he appears. This gives Smithson a major edge on paper - can Maurice beat him legimately? And what kind of answer was that last week, anyway?

Dark Match: Turn up early for a youth initiative showcase, in a three way match featuring Dexter Mattell, Lynx, and Christopher Gerrard!
