Frank Mucciolio: It comes down to a test of willpower - can McCarthy put aside his quest for revenge, in order to get a much needed win? Will Simonson finally show why he's been given all these title shots?

Stan Standish with Max Forbes vs. New Zealand Pit Bull

MB: Oh my! The New Zealand Pit Bull returns to the APW! This is huge - just look at the fear on Stan's face!

THE ACTION: Pit Bull was released from the APW in 2009, and showed why in this very lacklustre performance. It's probably hard to get too psyched up for a one night only appearance, but Standish gave him the run around and put him down fairly easily from the second rope. Standish is 4-0 as a result!

Rick Stantz is shown sat in the locker room taping his wrists and hands for his bout tonight. Blake Belushi enters, and settles next to him. He gets a slight grin, but nothing else. Blake speaks with warmth throughout, but gets nothing but monotone from Stantz.

Blake Belushi: Y'alright, mate?

Rick Stantz: Mm-hm..

BB: You got Devine easy, man. Easy. There's no way he can stand toe to toe with you. You know that, right?

RS: Yup.

BB: And you know you've got Boo down there with you in case he tries anything daft with that rent boy of his.

RS: Sure.

BB: So, cheer the hell up, dingus!

Rick, finishing his tape job, stands up.

THE ACTION: Two teams that have pretty much just jobbed as of lately, and with APW's slightly congested tag scene this may continue. However, someone had to win (unless it was going to be a draw, of course), and Stratosphere looked excellent - winning with a spectacular moonsault after 10 minutes.

Mackenzie is walking backstage, and Simonson is stood at a corner, seemingly waiting for him. There's no handshake or sign of respect, but there's no violence.

Harry Simonson: You understand, Maurice, that tonight is a temporary ceasefire. I want to beat McCarthy. I want that pin. I want to make him eat his words. You can help me with it, and get your piece of the washed up idiot - but I will be the one getting the pin. You get that?

Maurice Mackenzie ****s his head sideways, very much like his brother does.

Maurice Mackenzie: Man.. I'm interested in dealing out some damage, and putting anyone down that wants to cause problems to Nate. I don't give a **** if it's you or McCarthy. You touch Dozer, you get both of us. I thought we'd made it clear by now - this is about pain - not about some ridiculous record.

HS: And if I was to tag you in.. against your brother? What then, big man?

MM: That, my friend, is a treat yet to come for the APW.

Blake Belushi with Steph Drucker vs. Alyx Macquarie with Cole Taylor

MB: Both men here are key members of our tag division, and it's being hypothesised that a tag title match is around the corner. This match could mean a bit more than the usual bragging rights!

THE ACTION: Macquarie is just waiting for someone to push the button on a championship reign, and this could be a good start. Belushi was obviously rattled after being brushed off by Stantz earlier, and his smile looked rather more forced today. Drucker tried to get him fired up, but Macquarie looked awesome throughout, and Cole Taylor caused just enough problems at ringside for Alyx to snap off the Carcano kick, and to pick up the three.

FM: Macquarie wins! A big, big stack of momentum could be rolling his way - a huge win there.

MB: Belushi looked awful out there - that is not a good sign at all.

The camera eases back a little bit to show Swoop and Dozer standing face to face, rather reminiscent of the face off McCarthy had with Simonson last month. However, it's silent. The two partners for later on are just staring right through each other. Just when you feel like the tension can't rise any higher, and these two sworn enemies are about to snap and ruin each other, McCarthy grins.

Swoop McCarthy: Oh, piss off!

McCarthy turns and stamps away, leaving Dozer just stood there.

MB: What on earth has gotten into Swoop recently? I'm not sure this new attitude is what is going to get him the title back.

FM: If anything, it guarantees that Dozer will carry the title into 2012.

APW Australian Title Match

MB: A huge title defence for Rick here - he's been on a good run recently, but we've heard that Stan Standish is gunning for a title shot now. This could be very important.

THE ACTION: Stantz has Smithson from the Alliance to back him up, and you could argue that Boo is on a different level to Dingo's backup. Devine came out and really worried Rick from the offset, scrambling him with a brainbuster followed by a fisherman's suplex which Rick kicked out on on about 2.9! Stantz managed to man up a bit, and took it back at Dingo, but never really looked convincing. However, he was rather helped by the inexperience of Alex Banks, who tried to interfere and ended up brawling with Smithson around the outside of the ring. This distracted Dingo, and Rick took full advantage, grabbing a flash pin out of absolutely nowhere. Stantz retains - but not in particularly great circumstances.

FM: That's cheating, right? A distracted opponent gives the champion the win? That's not how it should be.

MB: But that's how the referee ruled it, Frank - and that's how it'll go into the record books.

Lexley Robbins vs. Debonair David Peterson with Sean Quartermainne

MB: With further turmoil thrown into the tag scene with Macquarie getting a good win earlier, this could add more fuel to the fire.

THE ACTION: Lexley came out unaccompanied, despite having a stable full of people that could help him out. Whether this was foolhardy or brave would become clear later, but this was an excellent match and Robbins looked every inch the acquisition that the APW hoped he would be. He had an answer for everything that Peterson threw at him - and wrapped it up with a huge Butterfly Powerbomb Pin after eighteen minutes of excellent action.

Rating: 49 / D+

Peterson writhes around for a while with SQ trying to help him up, but Quartermainne beckons to the ramp for assistance. Rather than the on hand paramedics appearing though, down comes Lanny Williams, who bullrushes Robbins. Lexley manages to hold his own, but then Quartermainne and a dazed Peterson join in, and only Dozer can hold off a 3 on 1 attack here. Robbins is soundly beaten and bloodied, and left in a heap - one leg almost comically propped up on the bottom rope.

Rating: 37 / D-

MB: A disgusting attack.

Killdozer and Harry Simonson vs. Swoop McCarthy and Maurice Mackenzie

MB: You hear that, Frank?

FM: I hear nothing? Is there a technical problem?

MB: No sir - both teams have decided to come out to zero music at all - Harry and Maurice almost came to blows over what to come out to earlier. That shows just some of the animosity at hand here.

THE ACTION: We started off with Simonson and Killdozer in the ring together, and Harry began with an immediate dropkick to the knees which put the behemoth down. Interesting change of game plan. Harry worked him over, until Dozer hulked up and managed to simply power him off. After a spot of domination, McCarthy stole a tag off his partner, and roared into the ring against Simonson. The two went at it, but McCarthy was much fresher and left Harry gasping and isolated at the bottom of a turnbuckle. Taunting him, and wanting a bit of the newcomer, McCarthy dragged him over to where Mo was waiting, and allowed the tag to happen. Swoop immediately took the head off Maurice with a huge clothesline. McCarthy teased tagging in Dozer again, but snatched his hand away at the last moment. McCarthy continued to take Mo to task, until a low blow but him down, breathing hard.

Maurice tagged Simonson back in, and Harry went full bore at Swoop - but found it countered into a tremendous Swoop DDT. Swoop hooked the leg, and got the three count! The show goes off air as Swoop escapes up the ramp, quickly, before the brothers Mackenzie can get after him.

I was lucky enough recently to get a chance to sit down with Maurice Mackenzie, the new force that has swept into the APW. Interestingly, removed from his brother, he's still a terrifyingly powerful man - but there's less Tyson Baine in him, and more Remo. He's very, very street. He sat directly across from me, leaning in at me the entire time. I swear even his muscles have muscles. I figured I'd go with a big opening gambit - he'd either throw me through the window or answer the question.

What is it in Nate's history that's turned him out like this? Maurice grinned - and sat back a bit. "Nate's always been tormented. When you're eight years old and build like a medicine ball, kids are ****ing nasty. Nate was about four foot tall until he hit thirteen, and then he blew up. But what happened then embedded itself into his psyche, into his consciousness. You try spending your entire damn adolescence getting kicked around and beaten on."

Yet, I countered, you could always have stepped in. Maurice was snapped up for the AFL at the age of 16, and was already 6'2 by that time.

"I hated the little bastard too, truth be told. Sure, I felt sorry for him, but I had girls coming after me, an amateur's wage, and I was definitely the number one son. Why would I care about what my shortstop little brother feels?"

You could tell this revelation hurt Mo a little bit. The predatory grin faded a little, but then came rushing back as a memory caught up with him.

"****, man, I just remembered," The grin becomes a chuckle, and the chuckle becomes a laugh. "****, there was this one kid. Name Alfie, Alfred, something like Batman's ****ing butler. And this kid tormented Nate every single day. All of a sudden, over the course of a summer, Nate blew up. He got big. And when the new school year rolled around, Alfie was waiting. See, this kid was dumb, with a capital B. He carried on trying to pick on Nate, until all of a sudden something in my brother snapped. He systematically kicked every single one of Alfie's teeth out against a pavement. Every single one. But that ain't it. You want to know what's really awesome about this story?"

I shrugged. Teeth kicking. Generally frowned upon in schooling.

"Nate waited until that kid's teeth had fully grown in. Even went so far as to helping himself to the nurse's records. And he waited for the day when that kid would no longer be able to grow a single replacement tooth. And bang - out comes them teeth". I shuddered, and Mo caught it. He just sat and laughed some more.

"****, son, I hear he's still got two of them somewhere. You should ask him about it one time!"

Frank Mucciolio: We are straight into the action tonight - a three team tag match to decide who will get to take on The Masters in a steel cage next month!

THE ACTION: Not a poor match, but one that had slightly higher hopes. The Rising Suns never looked fully into it, Kuroda looking rusty, so it pretty much boiled down to a scrap between The Rebels and The Blondes. Macquarie again looked solid, but Taylor is not a good enough backup, and this left Alyx pretty outnumbered. Lexley Robbins cleans house and Butterfly Powerbomb pins Cole Taylor after sixteen minutes!

The New Blondes are still in the ring with Steph, who calls for a microphone, but Quartermainne holds up a hand and waits for quiet to fall.

Sean Quartermainne: An impressive victory, for sure. But should one victory really give you a shot at my boys here? As such, Stephanie, I think I need a little bit more of a guarantee at Caged Showdown.

Stephanie Drucker: You're way out of line here, Sean. This is sanctioned from APW management!

SQ: I don't give a wooden nickel if it's sanctioned by the Queen of the Moon, you stupid sow! You agree to my terms, or I use my GM power to cancel the match. And then we're stuck in some godawful loop. I don't think darling Stephanie Drucker really wants that, does she?

Steph despairs a little, but shrugs an acceptance and waves at him to carry on.

SQ: The deal is as follows. The match will go ahead - The Masters against whatever your team of stand-ins is called nowadays. But, if the unthinkable should happen, and The Masters lose... you, Stephanie, will have to resign your GM duties and leave me solely in charge of the company.

The crowd boo at Sean, but are waved quiet again by Steph.

SD: Alright, but you've got to give me something Sean.If the Blondes lose.. you must resign YOUR GM duties!

Sean scowls and The Masters go ballistic, screaming at him not to agree and generally heeling it up.

SD: Come on, Sean.. are your boys cowards?

The Masters rapidly change their mindset, encouraging Sean.

SQ: Fine, Drucker. Fine. You've got your deal. We will see you next month..

Sean and his men stomp off, already plotting how they're going to finally be rid of Steph Drucker.

FM: Why in the hell did Quartermainne agree to that? The match offers The Masters nothing but a chance to lose their title - has he finally lost it?

MB: I think your pride being challenged by a pretty blonde is something that has got a lot of men into trouble over the years - and Quartermainne looks to just be the latest.

FM: Well, I'm sure The Masters will be fine. You know who won't be fine? Whichever poor schmuck has been brought in to face Stan Standish in the talent search - up next!

MB: So, Reed is a decent young high flier from the smaller independent promotions, and comes in with a fairly solid record. Will he be APW's new talent?

THE ACTION: Reed does okay, not really worth a call back though. Standish dominates again, looking superb and at the top of his form. Riding a wave of momentum, he hits the High Breed and gets the three count to go 5-0.

MB: Why am I the only one questioning the legitimacy of this so-called "streak"? Come on!

FM: They're all legit wins, and Standish is currently the most upwardly mobile man in the APW!

Sean Quartermainne: I decided.. I'm not quite done yet. After all, darling Rick Stantz needs to know who he's facing for his Australian title tonight. But, I'm afraid you need to hang on a little there. You see, I'm rather proud of what Stan Standish has achieved recently in our company, and I think it's time that we recognised that. Therefore, Rick - you will face Stan Standish in a steel cage next month - and your title will be on the line!

The Masters laugh at the clearly exhausted Stantz.

SQ: That is, of course, if you somehow manage to beat your opponent tonight. Which, from the looks of you - I don't think is going to happen. Your opponent... Lanny Williams!

The crowd boo, and Lanny steps up and into the ring. Rick sighs deeply, bails from the ring, grabs his title and heads into the crowd. The referee calls for the bell, and starts to count to ten. Rick is counted out, for a loss - but the title doesn't change hands on a DQ. Quartermainne is clearly furious - but what can you do?

THE ACTION: Smithson and Peterson are evenly matched - Peterson will win it if they stay stood up, and Smithson will take it if one the ground. Unfortunately, the match ends very quickly, when Dingo Devine and Alexander Banks hit the ring, attacking Ceri and then Smithson. Boo takes the match with a DQ win - but gets absolutely pounded by Devine and his protege.

MB: Smithson is hurt - and Dordevich isn't moving - can we get some help out here?

FM: She's faking it. I heard she does that a lot...

MB: Well, after that unscheduled pause in the action, it's time for our main event of the night. We will see the newest talent in the APW - Maurice Mackenzie, see if he can win a shot at his own brother. Swoop McCarthy and Harry Simonson have had massive problems with each other recently - and considering they're the two top lights in the APW, this is very concerning for us fans.

FM: Not for me, I love seeing them tear each other apart. And just watch Mo take advantage!

MB: The winner gets a title shot - and as it's a triple threat - this is a no DQ match!

THE ACTION: McCarthy and Simonson immediately take each other down, as predicted - and it's just a straight out bar brawl. All sorts of objects are gathered from under the ring (WHY was there a pool cue under there?) and used, and by the end of the match both McCarthy and Simonson are bloodied. Maurice? Well, he slid out of the ring pretty much at the start, and lurked by the barrier talking to a blonde in the audience. Seeing McCarthy signalling for the Swoop DDT, he got back into the ring and bulldogged Swoop. What followed was an excellent spell of dominance, with near falls on both Simonson and McCarthy. However, Mo got a little over confident, and found himself cornered by the other two - both with chairs. After a solid beatdown which left Maurice unmoving on the outside, McCarthy and Simonson sparred for a further short while - but McCarthy managed to grab the three after a big Swoop DDT onto a broken chair!

Rating: 52 / D+

MB: Swoop McCarthy earns a championship match! And the chance to be in a cage with Nathan Mackenzie at APW's Caged Showdown! This is awes-

Much to Frank's disappointment, Killdozer just stands at the top of the stage, staring down McCarthy. Swoop climbs a turnbuckle, and extends and index finger in the direction of Dozer. Next month, locked inside a steel cage - it's on.

Well, it's been a pretty dramatic month so far. You see, James J McMinister, my boss, and owner of APW, can sometimes bother people a little.

Markus Rush is our road agent, responsible for planning matches. Well, was. Something happened between him and James, and the two weren't speaking. It wasn't much fun being the go-between, so we've just about come to terms with his release and Caged Showdown will be his final show. We've pretty much replaced him though, so no worries.

The next issue is rather more serious and concerning. Ceri Dordevich has been a constant fixture by Boo Smithson's side, and he's had a bit of a push up the card since she came along. She filled in his charisma and speech deficiences, and made him viable. Unfortunately, she then went on 102.8FM and slagged off McMinister, calling him a creep and accusing him of various things. Now, I know James well, and this stuff simply doesn't suit him. So, Ceri will likely be fired with immediate effect once she's done her bit at Caged Showdown. What does this mean for Boo's push? I have no idea, and that's massively saddening. He was finally getting somewhere.

To save repetition, every match will be conducted within the barbaric steel cage!  Killdozer vs. Swoop McCarthy - (APW Commonwealth Title Match) - McCarthy won a three way dance last month to earn this shot, and it's hard to argue that he doesn't deserve it. Dozer has reigned for over a year now - this the 13th month of his reign - will 13 be his unlucky number, or does Dozer simply have the power to win in the cage?

Maurice Mackenzie vs. Harry Simonson - An intriguing matchup that showcases one of the future stars of the APW - this could be major bragging rights for Mo. Can Simonson bring him back to earth?

Boo Smithson vs. Dingo Devine - Devine has been assaulting Boo for months after turning on his former best mate. Devine has even lured protege Alex Banks from the stable of Max Forbes, showing a side of him we've not seen before. Smithson will be smarting, but with it being public knowledge that Dordevich is out after this match, can he really continue on form?

Rick Stantz vs. Stan Standish - (APW Australian title match) - After a dubious bout of matchmaking last month, the mentally torn Stantz finds himself put in his fourth title defence in a row against a man who is 5-0. Standish is riding a wave of momentum - is it his time to become three time Australian champ?

The Masters vs. The New Blondes - (APW Tag Team titles match) - A match fairly earned by the Blondes was made all the more important last month, when Quartermainne revealed extra incentives. If the Blondes win the titles, Steph Drucker must resign as co-GM. But, if the Masters retain, Sean Quartermainne himself must give up his role. At the end of Caged Showdown, we will have just one GM - but who will it be?

Interestingly the last time I did an APW diary, Dozer went missing with the Commonwealth title. The stand-in title was called the ANZAC title

How over is Swoop geting RAW normaly steals him about a year in, I like what ya did with the Blondes in terms of talent down under you cant really keep them as a tag team, I normaly turn Blake heel myself and have him join up with the masters.

Dont know if your game looks the same but on paper atlest RAWs best talant is Kerry and APW is stack with Talent, my game now two years in Harry has become to be the corner stone, in terms , so when RAW took Swoop of me I took Kerry.

I've been very careful with Swoop - at a few points he's even auto pushed to Upper Midcarder rather than Main Event. RAW look powerful - I'll do a rundown of the promotional wars for my next "Out in the Wilderness" section - thanks for the inspiration!

Frank Mucciolio: And what a night we have ahead of us - The Masters will destroy the Blondes, Dozer will retire McCarthy - it's going to be a beaut.

MB: A real stormer to open the night - the tag team titles are very coveted in the APW, and The Masters have held on to them for quite a while. Let's not forget the other stipulations here - if The Masters win, SQ must give up his GM powers. But if The Blondes win - Drucker must do the same.

The Masters with Sean Quartermainne vs. The New Blondes with Steph Drucker

APW Tag Team Title Match

THE ACTION: Locked in the cage, The Masters were immediately at a disadvantage. The Blondes divided and conquered, and kept The Masters on the back foot pretty much the entire time. Williams was inventive with the holds, trapping Belushi several times between rope and cage, and piling on the pressure - but Lexley was always just there in time to prevent a submission. Quartermainne and Drucker bickered like school children on the outside, but neither was able to influence the match. In the end, youth outweighed experience, and Peterson was gassed. Robbins scooped him for a Butterfly powerbomb, and Belushi swept the leg of Williams and locked in the sharpshooter variant we saw almost a year ago. Peterson was down, and pinned - and we have new tag team champions!

Rating: 52 / D+

MB: The New Blondes are the new tag team champions! That marks Lexley's first ever APW belt, and he couldn't be happier!

FM: But now Sean Quartermainne is rightfully in sole charge of the company - and by god look at his face... that is not a man to cross.

The East Coast Rebels vs. The Rising Suns

THE ACTION: The match wasn't awful, but being within the cage limited the Rebels and allowed the Suns to pull out some interesting combinations. Alyx Macquarie was split open on the ring mesh almost immediately, but toughed it out and even managed to smash Kuroda out of the air, mid flip, with a Carcano Kick for the win.

Rating: 35 / E+

MB:And there is the danger of Macquarie - even bloodied and beaten up, he can pull that Carcano Kick out of absolutely nowhere and put you out of action.

Rick Stantz vs. Stan Standish with Max Forbes

APW Australian Title Match

THE ACTION: Stantz looks tired and beaten, and Standish has him scouted. Every time Rick looks like he might build up some steam, Stan sees it coming and either bails from the ring, gets Forbes involved or simply counters the move. Standish looks massively impressive, even with Rick browbeaten and down. Rick finds himself thrown against the cage numerous times, and starts to grow a nasty welt under his eye that continues to grow. One eyed and badly hurt, Rick finds himself on his back - and Standish goes to the second rope. One Highbreed knee drop later, and we have our second new champ of the night!

MB: And here comes Sean Quartermainne! Here to rub it in to Rick, I suppose.

Quartermainne saunters down to the ring where Standish and Forbes are celebrating. He stands face to face with the pair of them, unusually separate from The Masters. Sean fixes Stan with a stare, and gives a tiny nod. Standish nods back, turns, and backbreakers Forbes! Leaving his manager down and out, Standish and Quartermainne raise each others arms, and turn their attention to Stantz.

Of course, straight down comes Blake Belushi, and he rushes to Rick's side before Standish and Quartermainne can get to him. Supporting his friend, despite Rick's pleas, he starts to walk up the ramp. However, Rick has other ideas, and gives Blake a shove. As Blake questions what the hell he's doing, Stantz grabs him and smashes him into the metal with an inverted DDT! Leading his former friend unmoving, Rick limps out of sight.. and Quartermainne's grin grows even further..

THE ACTION: Smithson comes out like a man possessed, and as the commentators put over the fact that Ceri Dordevich has quit the APW in protest at the beating she recieved last week, he's stuck all alone. However, Dingo also came out alone, leaving protege Alex Banks out of harm's way. Devine didn't get much out of this match, finding himself grounded immediately, and it was very much a formality. Take note, APW workers - Smithson in a pissed off mood is not to be trifled with. A scorpion deathlock after sixteen minutes seals it - Smithson may have just put Devine on notice!

Rating: 58 / C-

MB: Smithson looks awesome fired up - but can that attitude change or will he go back to the geeky persona he usually employs?

MB: The Hitman gets his chance to shine - he's not had a fair crack at the upstart Maurice Mackenzie since Mo appeared in the APW - will he be able to lock in his famed Boston Crab and shut the newcomer up a little bit?

THE ACTION: Mackenzie looks rather awed by the steel cage, and starts off slow as Simonson is too much of a veteran to be put off. After ten minutes of action, Mo gets the upper hand following a trip that causes Simonson to graze his face down the mesh of the cage. What follows is five minutes of pure domination - numerous powerbombs and lariats that have Simonson gasping and clutching what may be broken ribs. Mackenzie spends a moment or two fiddling with one of the turnbuckle pads, but Harry suddenly manages to forget the pain and ensnare some form of jumping arm bar. This isn't enough to force a submission, but when The Hitman slithers round and hooks one leg.. then the other... the Boston Crab is locked in completely and Mackenzie just has to tap!

Rating: 49 / D+

MB: Simonson shows why he's a headliner - Mackenzie looked very impressive indeed, but not quite enough yet. Give The Hitman an inch and he'll take a mile - but what state are his ribs in now?

FM: And what was Mo doing with that turnbuckle?

Just before the main event, a very curious video airs. It starts with a clip of Dozer winning the Commonwealth title in April 2010. Each month shows another clip of dominance and victory. Tellingly, the May 2011 section shows a clip of Dozer holding up the belt after that original win the previous year. After that, the video distorts and looks like it's screwing up - and ends with a picture of Dozer bleeding and down on the canvas.

MB: What was that?

FM: Looked like some kind of prediction to me..

MB: Some elaborate prophecy, maybe - but will that put Dozer off his stride tonight?

Killdozer vs. Swoop McCarthy

APW Commonwealth Title Match

THE ACTION: McCarthy is all business, and we have word that Mo Mackenzie has been taken to hospital with a suspected broken tailbone, so Dozer is out alone. However, he's never been one to rely on help, and goes on the offensive immediately. Some crunching elbows bust the eyebrow of McCarthy, and soon both men end up with blood on them. Crucially, McCarthy manages a roundhouse style kick from the second rope, which tears the giant's forehead open! With both men badly bloodied, the referee looks concerned, but dares not step in. With a crowd chanting "This is awesome!", the two lock up again and brawl solidly. After about twenty minutes, Dozer ducks a lariat and smashes McCarthy with a 300lb Spear - but Swoop kicks out! Furious, Dozer reaches into the turnbuckle that Mo had messed with earlier, and slips on the knuckledusters carefully concealed there. Despite the cries of the referee, Dozer stalks McCarthy, and as he gets up he uppercuts him in a punch that lifts Swoop up and off the ground. Hooking the leg for the three, Dozer retains - but Swoop takes him closer than ever before.

Rating: 52 / D+

MB: What an event! Dozer retains, we have new tag champs and a three time Australian champion! We'll see you next month for the Beer Bash - where I'm sure we'll still be feeling some of the fall out from this momentous occasion! Goodnight!

APW's Caged Showdown 2011 – An APW Production

"What state is the Australian scene in?"

It's very easy to become fixated on the APW. Well, with it being the only legitimate choice for a wrestling fan in this country, I can see why. But some people are interested in how the other companies are faring, so I suppose it might be worth casting a brief eye over them!

ZEN:

I like ZEN. They're a kooky little bunch who are growing rapidly over in New Zealand, and I'd love to work with them a little in the future. Whether they could make it over here on the mainland remains to be seen, but they seem solidly lead and Halloween Knight just signed a long term extension with them which is positive. Devilfish and Lone Shark seem to be their big two guys, with Devilfish holding the main belt and Super Zero holding the very odd Conceptual title. Super Zero is also one half of the tag team (or "Harmony") champs, which shows some of the faith the company has in him.

DIW:

Not a huge fan of these guys - we're a partially hardcore company, but these morons tend to overdo it. It's all very well getting busted up day in day out, but if you die of brain damage, or cause damage to others because of it, what was the point? Seems like nothing changes other there either - since day one the feud has been The Comedian vs. Menace to Sobriety, and it's still that way now. Never allow an owner and his best mate to run roughshod over a roster. Bad, bad news for DIW workers.

RAW:

Here we go. The big dainty fairies that are afraid to touch each other. Alright, we got Lex from them, and he's doing well for himself. And sure, there are a few more I'd love to lure away from the Network boys. We currently put on better rated shows than the company - and considering James says they're considered to be the next size up from us, this can't be a good sign. Let's be fair - if you're going to actually give Crazy Train wins, there's something rotten in there. Kerry Wayne and Captain Wrestling II are very much their top guys, but it looks like Montgomery Croft is getting a fair amount of a push as well. He's got a bit of a way to go - but I'd be surprised to not see him up there in a big way in 2012.
