Bush is looking to close the distance and fight on the inside but as he comes in OSP seeks the opportunity to go for a takedown and gets it as we pass the halfway mark in the round. OSP initially struggles to pass the guard of his opponent but does eventually get to half guard however almost immediately Bush starts to burst into life, looking to get back to his feet but ultimately gives up side control as the round ends.

ROUND 2

Round 2 begins with OSP looking to turn this into a wrestling match but Bush does well to avoid him as he sneaks a glance at his corner then immediately throws a flurry of rights and lefts but OSP avoids and hits a nice counter left hook then tries once again to wrestle Bush against the cage but he can't get close enough to do so and instead has to avoid another barrage of big rights and lefts from his opponent. Evangelista throws a combination of rights and lefts to deflect the attention of Noons before shooting in for a takedown but Noons is equal to it and manages to wrestle him to the floor, getting to half guard. Silva misses a body kick as Fedor shoots in for the takedown but Silva times it well and manages to force Fedor to his knees, allowing 'Big Foot' to secure side control, but almost immediately Silva allows Fedor to stand up, will he live to regret that? Fedor moves into the pocket and feints a big right hand before dropping down for a close-range double leg but again Silva does an excellent job of sprawling and pulling Fedor down to his knees and unloads with big right hands to the side of the head, and Fedor doesn't want to be taking much of these! Antonio Silva continues to land several big shots to the body and head before rolling him over, securing side control. Silva fails to mount Fedor before again reliquishing the position as the round ends! Good round for 'Big Foot'!

ROUND 2

Round number 2 begins and Fedor immediately gets off with a good combination but Silva just about covers up in time, however he finds himself getting pulled into the muay thai clinch and Fedor rocks Silva with a vicious elbow but Silva does a good job of wrestling his way out of the position and into a standard clinch position which Fedor uses to try and get the takedown but again it's defended well as Silva tries to use a whizzer to turn the tables on Fedor but he's blocked from doing so. Again Fedor looks for the takedown and yet again it's stuffed as we pass the halfway mark! Silva is trying to free himself from Fedor's grip but he's unable to do so as Fedor rather surprisingly tries to pull guard but Silva doesn't let him and begins to take control of the clinch which he does and now is able to break free. It doesn't take long until there back in the clinch but nothing really happens as the round ends.

ROUND 3

Round number 3 is underway and now it's Silva who wants to get close and wrestle but Fedor doesn't allow it, instead keeping his opponent at bay with strikes including a hard left hook but it's not long before they do finally start grappling for control and it's Silva who pushes Fedor up against the cage as we approach the halfway point in the round! Mauro Ranallo - Hello i'm Mauro Ranallo and welcome to another edition of the Strikeforce Challenger's series as Strikeforce and Showtime provides today’s top MMA prospects with an opportunity to get on the fast-track to stardom. And joining me tonight to potentially witness the stars of tomorrow in action is 'The Fight Professor' Stephen Quadros, and Stephen in tonight's main event we will see 2 of the biggest knockout artists in the heavyweight division as Brett 'The Grim' Rogers meets the miracle man, Lavar Johnson.

Stephen Quadros - Well Mauro this is a fight i have been looking forward to for quite some time now. Both these men have a knockout percentage of over 80% with just one of there combined 31 fights have gone to a decision so i would not be surprised to see this one end quickly and violently tonight!

Mauro Ranallo - Also joining us tonight is "The Croatian Sensation" Pat Miletich, and tonight Pat we also feature several potential stars of the future including 24 year old high level wrestler Lance Palmer who makes his MMA debut tonight, and devastating Hawaiian striker Yancy Medeiros who is looking to go 10-0 tonight, not to mention the fact we also have the return of former Strikeforce women's 135-pound champion Sarah Kaufman.

Pat Miletich - Well Mauro i'm definitely interested in seeing those guys compete tonight. The Strikeforce Challengers series is really a perfect place for these guys to develop but with a good win tonight, i see Medeiros potentially making the transition to the major shows sometime in the future.

(11-5) Cory Devela vs. Erik Apple (10-2)

ROUND 1

The first fight of the evening is underway as Devela does well to avoid a variety of strikes from Apple before closing the distance and locks him into a muay thai clinch. Apple tries his best to break the hold but can't manage it as Devela drives a hard knee to the body then to the ribs of his opponent before giving up the hold and stepping back out of range. Both fighters fail to land with strikes and end up falling into the clinch, which Devela manages to control before going for a slam, which he succeeds in getting and Apple has to pull guard as the round comes to a close.

ROUND 2

Here we go with round 2 as Apple looks to turn this in a wrestling match as he looks to pin Devela up against the cage but he get's out-wrestled and Devela again succeeds in taking Apple down from the clinch. A successful pass to side control follows as Devela tries to ensnare Apple in an armbar but Apple manages to get his arm free right at the last second but he still has over half the round to survive as Devela transitions to mount before again attempting the armbar but again he losses it as Apple does a great job of using it to get side control! Apple looks to mount his opponent but Devela manages to lock in an arm-in guillotine but Apple won't tap out as Devela eventually has to let go of the hold as the round comes to an end.

ROUND 3

Third and final round gets underway as Devela counters his opponent with a series of quick punches followed by a solid left as he looks to come inside but Apple does a good job of keeping him on the outside for the time-being but it's not long before they end up clinched which Devela uses to put Apple up against the cage as he looks to utilize his judo by hitting an inside leg trip too take Apple to the ground, which he does. Apple looks for an ambitious armbar from the bottom but it's easily defended as we head into the final minute. Devela uses the last 60 seconds to work his jiu-jitsu as he manages to pass to side control before the round and fight ends.

OFFICIAL DECISION

Danny Miller - Alright ladies and gentleman we go to the scorecards where all three judges cageside score the bout 30-27 for the winner by unanimous decision, CORY DEVELA!

(0-0) Lance Palmer vs. Blake Bowman (2-3)

ROUND 1

Round 1 begins with Palmer landing with a combination of jabs and hooks before shooting for a takedown which he gets and Bowman has to pull guard. The All-American wrestler easily passes to side control as he lands several big knee strikes to the ribs of Bowman before again passing, this time to mount as he unloads punch after punch on the helpless Bowman and the referee has seen enough! Extremely impressive MMA debut for Lance Palmer!

(9-0) Yancy Medeiros vs. Ben Stark (3-1)

ROUND 1

The opening bell sounds as the undefeated Medeiros moves in quickly and lands a kick to the body which forces Stark to go for a takedown but Medeiros is too quick and manages to counter with a good clean jab. Stark manages to sting his opponent with a left jab before again shooting for a takedown but it's stuffed as Medeiros feints a high kick then goes low which forces Stark into another takedown attempt but he's forces onto his knees as Medeiros times the sprawl well but Stark gets back to his feet without taking any damage as round 1 comes to a close.

ROUND 2

Round 2 begins as Stark avoids 2 successive leg kicks before shooting for a takedown but Medeiros again times the sprawl well as the remainder of the round follows a similar pattern as Stark cannot get Medeiros down yet at the same time manages to stay out of trouble on the feet.

ROUND 3

Final round is underway with Medeiros looking for a spinning back kick but Stark moves out of range and shoots for the takedown but it's unsuccessful as Medeiros slams a right kick to the outside of his opponents thigh and immediately follows up with another leg kick and those are beginning to effect Starks movement, which forces him to try and clinch with Medeiros and is successful in doing so as he puts him up against the fence for the remainder of the round.

OFFICIAL DECISION

Danny Miller - Alright ladies and gentleman we go to the scorecards where all three judges cageside score the bout 30-27 for the winner by unanimous decision, YANCY 'FRISSON' MEDEIROS!

(13-1) Sarah Kaufman vs. Amanda Buckner (11-5-1)

ROUND 1

Fight begins with both fighters entering the center of the cage throwing strikes which neither land with but a follow-up jab from Buckner is countered by Kaufman who lands a nice left hand but she can't follow it up as they continue to defend each others strikes as the halfway mark in the round passes. Kaufman again counters with a nice combination ending in a big right hook and it seems like the former champion is slightly getting the better of things on the feet but there's barely anything between them as the round ends.

ROUND 2

Inbetween rounds it seems like Amanda Buckners corner want her to continue to strike with Kaufman, will that prove a wise decision? We shall see as round number 2 begins with Buckner moving in and out of range, trying to get Kaufman to commit but she isn't buying it and quickly gets into the clinch where she lands some nice punches on the inside before switching to the muay thai plum, and Buckner is in big trouble as Kaufman blasts her with a big knee but Buckner does a great job of breaking the clinch as they seperate. Kaufman counters again, this time with a kick to the outside of her opponents lead leg but Buckner fires back with a crisp right hand which slams straight through the guard of Kaufman but can't follow it up as the round ends.

ROUND 3

Third and final round is underway as Buckner looks to use feints in order to draw Kaufman in but it's not working as she stays on the outside avoiding her opponents strikes as Buckner decided to come inside but she quickly regrets it as Kaufman hits a flurry of strikes to sting her, then fires off a hard leg kick which lands and Buckner is starting to feel the effect of those kicks. With half the round remaining Kaufman keeps her opponent out of range with her jab before landing another kick to the lead leg and Buckner is clearly walking on one leg now but she is saved by the bell as the fight comes to an end.

OFFICIAL DECISION

Danny Miller - Alright ladies and gentleman we go to the scorecards where all three judges cageside score the bout 30-27 for the winner by unanimous decision, SARAH KAUFMAN!

----------------------------------------------------------

Good evening ladies and gentleman and welcome once again to the Save Mart Center in Fresno, California where it's time for our featured bout of the evening presented by Rockstar Energy Drink, Bigger! Better! Faster! Stronger! Party like a Rockstar!

And his opponent fighting out of the red corner, with a record of 12 wins and 2 losses with 9 wins coming by way of knockout and 1 by submission. He is a striker representing Team Bison out of St. Paul, Minnesota, please welcome, BRETT 'THE GRIM' ROGERS!

(12-2) Brett Rogers vs. Lavar Johnson (15-4)

ROUND 1

The main event gets underway and it's Rogers who fires off the first combination which Johnson avoids it but he only succeeds in taking a big right kick to the outside of the thigh as Rogers comes in looking to clinch but Johnson stays out of it but does come inside and lands a crazy spinning heel kick to the legs of Rogers but Rogers uses good head movement to avoid anything that's going to hurt him as we go to the halfway mark and it's Johnson now with the feints to avoid the strikes of his opponent but Rogers then makes his way inside but can't land anything as a surprisingly lackluster round comes to an end.

ROUND 2

Back underway here in the second with Rogers countering a missed strike by landing a nice combination but Johnson fires back with massive rights but he can't connect with any of them before he has to eat a jab from his opponent then gets pulled into a muay thai clinch and takes a big elbow to the face but does manage to avoid a follow-up knee as we go to the halfway point of the fight and again Rogers lands a big elbow as Johnson desperately looks to get out of this position but Rogers is too strong and drives a huge elbow to the side of the head of Johnson, however the position is then lost and Johnson looks to come forward to try and take this round away from his opponent but a big right hand finds nothing but gloves and as the round ends the fans give these 2 fighters there opinions of this fight so far, and there not happy!

ROUND 3

Final round of the main event begins with Johnson realising that he probably needs a knockout and comes out throwing a huge right hand but Rogers avoids it and counters with a leg kick. Both fighter's are looking tired as Johnson is trying to bait Rogers in and manages to do so, landing a punch to the body but there's little power behind it as they both now meet in the center of the cage with Johnson looking to throw the big knockout punch but he's too slow and it allows Rogers to counter with several heavy right hands that stun Johnson! Another big shot forces Lavar Johnson to collapse to the ground and another big shot by Rogers is enough to signal the end to this contest.

OFFICIAL DECISION

Danny Miller - Ladies and gentleman the referee calls a halt to the bout at 3:28 of round number 3, due to strikes he is the winner by TKO, BRETT 'THE GRIM' ROGERS!
