Great diary, so far..

This means nothing but that picture isn't Amanda Buckner and she doesn't fight out of Boulder, CO. It also sucks to see her lose, even though it's a game. lol.

It's not? I believe thats the picture for her in the mod and also the picture on her FightWiki page but im not sure whether it is or it isn't tbh.

Did you try to get Santiago? That would of been a nice pick up![/b]

Before i realised he was available he had already re-signed with Sengoku otherwise i wouldn't tried at least as i like Santiago.

Strikeforce: Feijao vs. Henderson Preview

STRIKEFORCE: FEIJAO VS. HENDERSON PREVIEW

<img src=http://img717.imageshack.us/img717/8904/rafaelcavalcante.gif> <img src=http://img651.imageshack.us/img651/8023/danhenderson.gif>

After suffering defeat in his Strikeforce debut at the hands of Jake Shields, MMA legend Dan Henderson bounced back with a vicious knockout of Renato 'Babalu' Sobral and earned a second chance at championship glory as he meets title holder Rafael Cavalcante.

Despite stopping talented prospect 'King Mo' Lawal in what many considered to be an upset, Rafael 'Feijao' will once again step into the cage as an overwhelming underdog despite all 10 of his wins coming by way of stoppage, but a win over Dan Henderson will no doubt earn 'Feijao' the respect he deserves.

After an explosive 14 second Strikeforce debut, Amanda Nunes has gone from the virtual unknown of North American MMA to the number one challenger in the women's 145-pound division in just a matter of months.

However the opportunity to challenge for the Strikeforce women's middleweight championship also comes with the intimidating prospect of facing the most feared female fighter on the planet as Cris Cyborg looks to continue her onslaught on the 145-pound division as she aims for her fifth straight stoppage win.

<img src=http://img8.imageshack.us/img8/3871/gegardmousasi.gif> <img src=http://img262.imageshack.us/img262/4677/mikewhitehead.gif>

After suffering his first loss in almost 4 years at the hands of Muhammed Lawal, Gegard Mousasi will make his return to Strikeforce after entering and subsequently winning the DREAM light heavyweight grand prix in dominant fashion.

Looking to spoil his return will be respected veteran Mike Whitehead, who has compiled an impressive 26-7 record but a win over the former Strikeforce light heavyweight champion would undoubtedly be the biggest of his 10 year career.

<img src=http://img511.imageshack.us/img511/1576/chadgriggs.gif> <img src=http://img810.imageshack.us/img810/5388/gianvillante.gif>

After battering the much-hyped Bobby Lashley into submission in his previous bout, Chad Griggs is now starting to get some recognition after 5 years in the sport and with a second successive main card spot on Showtime, a win over another hot prospect could propel Griggs to bigger and better fight in the future.

In his Strikeforce debut, Gian Villante will be in unfamiliar territory as he fights outside of New Jersey for the first time in his MMA career and with a step up in competition, a victory could see Villante become the next hot prospect on the Strikeforce roster.

<img src=http://img43.imageshack.us/img43/8931/lukerockhold.gif> <img src=http://img20.imageshack.us/img20/8545/jessetaylor.gif>

Originally a bout featured on the Strikeforce Challengers series where Rockhold submitted Taylor by rear naked choke in the first round and subsequently spelt the end of Taylor's run in Strikeforce. However he has since gone 4-1 in various other promotions and earned his way back onto the Strikeforce roster.

Arguably one of the hottest prospect in MMA right now, Luke Rockhold will make his main show debut at 'Strikeforce: Feijao vs. Henderson' and although the gifted AKA product wasn't all that excited about fighting Taylor again, an impressive showing live on Showtime will no doubt propel Rockhold to bigger and better things.

STRIKEFORCE: FEIJAO vs. HENDERSON

Mauro Ranallo - Hello i'm Mauro Ranallo, thank you for joining me here from the Nationwide Arena in Columbus Ohio as Strikeforce presents another big night of mixed martial arts as not one but two huge championship fights feature on the card tonight including MMA legend Dan Henderson getting another opportunity at championship glory when he takes on hard-hitting champion Rafael 'Feijao' Cavalcante, and in some people's opinions the most dominant champion in all of MMA, Cris 'Cyborg' will make her third defense of the 145-pound title against fellow Brazilian, Amanda Nunes.

And joining me for tonight's broadcast is another MMA legend, Frank Shamrock, and Frank after causing what many believed to be a pretty big upset when he knocked out 'King Mo' to win the title, Rafael 'Feijao' will once again go against an opponent that not too many people give him a chance against. Do you believe that those people are correct to right off 'Feijao' tonight or is there a danger of Henderson perhaps overlooking the champion tonight?

Frank Shamrock - Well Mauro there's probably alot of fans out there who underestimate 'Feijao' but i don't think Dan Henderson is one of them. Henderson has won multiple title's all over the world and you don't get to the level that he has by overlooking your opponents. In my opinion if 'Feijao' can keep this fight on the feet and stay away from Henderson's power then i believe he can win this fight but the question is, can he stop the olympic-level wrestling of Dan Henderson?

Mauro Ranallo - Well it will be interesting to see if that is the case but at the same time we have seen Dan Henderson many times in the past keep fights on the feet when it appeared, on paper at least, that his wrestling would give him more of an advantage so it will be interesting to see how he approaches this fight tonight.

Also joining us tonight is the first ever UFC welterweight champion, Pat Miletich, and tonight Pat as i mentioned earlier, we have two title fights on the card and in the co-main event Amanda Nunes, who blew away Julia Budd in just 14 seconds in her Strikeforce debut, will get a dream shot at the 145-pound title but in order to win that title, she has to go through the most dominant female fighter in the sport Cris 'Cyborg'.

Pat Miletich - Well Mauro i'm definitely expecting this fight to bring the fireworks tonight! As you mentioned, Nunes looked phenomenal in her Strikeforce debut and in that fight Nunes' fighting style was very reminiscent of that classic aggressive 'Chute Boxe' style of fighting so it's quite ironic that she will face an actual 'Chute Boxe' fighter in Cris 'Cyborg' tonight.

Mauro Ranallo - Alright well those two championship fights are later on in tonight's card but also featuring on the card tonight will be one of the brightest prospects on the Strikeforce roster, Luke Rockhold who will be making his big show debut as he takes on two-time All-American wrestler Jesse Taylor. Another bright prospect Strikeforce Gian Villante makes his promotional debut against Chad Griggs, who is best remembered for battering Bobby Lashley into submission in his last fight. And the former Strikeforce light heavyweight champion Gegard Mousasi makes his anticipated return to Strikeforce as he takes on veteran Mike Whitehead.

But it's now time to hand over to the maestro of the microphone, Jimmy Lennon, Jr.

----------------------------------------------------------

(7-1) Luke Rockhold vs. Jesse Taylor (17-6)

ROUND 1

Round 1 of this rematch begins and an early exchange from both fighters ends with them falling into a clinch which Rockhold manages to take control of as he lifts Taylor up and plants him straight back down to the mat as Rockhold ends up in his guard. After a few small strikes, Rockhold looks to pass, and manages to get to side control then locks Taylor in an armbar and it's in deep! but Taylor gets his arm free right when it looked like he was about to tap but he still has over half the round left to survive on the ground with Rockhold, who submitted him in the first round of there last fight, but this time he may look to take a different path to victory as Rockhold fires powerful shots to the face of Taylor and all he can do is cover up which prompts the referee to step in and end this contest.

OFFICIAL DECISION

Jimmy Lennon, Jr. - Ladies and gentleman we have the time of 3:09 in round number 1, our referee in charge stops the contest due to strikes, he is the winner by way of technical knockout, LUKE ROCKHOLD!

*In his post-fight interview with Mauro Ranallo, Jesse Taylor apologized to the fans and to his opponent for his performance after he mentioned that he was ill in the lead-up to the fight.*

----------------------------------------------------------

Jimmy Lennon, Jr. - Alright fans here we go as Strikeforce and Showtime present 3 five minute rounds in a special heavyweight attraction.

Introducing to you first on my left, fighting out of the blue corner, with a background in Boxing and Jiu-Jitsu, he has a record of 9 wins and 1 defeat with all of his wins coming by way of stoppage. From Tucson, Arizona please welcome CHAD 'THE GRAVEDIGGER' GRIGGS!

And his opponent across the cage, fighting out of the red corner, with a multi-sport background in Boxing, Kickboxing and Muay Thai, his record stands at 7 wins and 1 lose with 5 of his wins coming by way of knockout and 2 by submission. Introducing the talented prospect from Bellmore, New York, GIAN VILLANTE!

<img src=http://img511.imageshack.us/img511/1576/chadgriggs.gif> <img src=http://img810.imageshack.us/img810/5388/gianvillante.gif>

(9-1) Chad Griggs vs. Gian Villante (7-1)

ROUND 1

Round 1 is underway and it's a slow start as the first minute goes by with both men commiting to there strikes but neither can land anything which results in Villante changing levels as he shoots in on Griggs but he spawls well and instead pulls Villante into a clinch then puts him up against the cage and works to gain underhooks which he gets and it allows him to sweep the legs of his opponent and Villante has to pull guard. Griggs looks like he just wants to smother his opponent on the ground but Villante stays active and throws up his legs looking for a triangle but Griggs manages to avoid it and that seems to dishearting his opponent as Griggs controls him on the ground for over a minute before Villante uses his legs to push Griggs back then scrambles back to his feet but the round is over.

ROUND 2

Round 2 begins with Villante looking to be aggressive as he strikes with a body kick then looks to land a flurry of punches but Griggs slips out of the way and then covers up as a couple of big right hands come his way and Griggs is doing a good job of blocking everything Villante throws at him but he's not doing much offensively as we pass the halfway mark of the round and Griggs once again shows good head movement to avoid a wild right hook but does take a follow-up right hand to the gloves then Villante connects with a series of jabs as the time runs down on a difficult round for the judges as Villante was the aggressor but landed almost nothing on a defensive-minded Griggs.

ROUND 3

Final round begins with Villante again coming forward and lands a vicious kick to the leg then follows it up with a kick to the body and a takedown attempt but Griggs sees it coming and gets out of the way then uses his footwork to back out of range as Villante was looking to come inside. Griggs again takes a vicious kick to the leg and they could start to take there toll if Griggs doesn't start checking them. With just one minute left of this fight, Villante looks to take it to the ground but Griggs again steps away to avoid it as the fight comes to an end.

OFFICIAL DECISION

Jimmy Lennon, Jr. - Ladies and gentleman after 3 rounds of action we have a unanimous decision, here are the score totals. All three judges at ringside score the contest 29-28 in favor of the winner, GIAN VILLANTE!

----------------------------------------------------------

Jimmy Lennon, Jr. - Alright fans here we go as Strikeforce and Showtime present 3 five minute rounds in a light heavyweight special attraction.

Introducing to you first, fighting out of the blue corner, with a multi-sport background in Boxing, Kickboxing and Judo, he has an impressive record of 30 win with just 3 losses and 1 draw. From Leiden, Holland by way of Tehran, Iran please welcome the multiple time world champion, introducing, GEGARD MOUSASI!

And his opponent across the cage, fighting out of the red corner, with a background in Wrestling, he has a record of 25 win and 7 losses with 6 knockouts and 13 submissions to his credit. From Salt Lake City, Utah, please welcome the mixed martial arts veteran, MIKE WHITEHEAD!

<img src=http://img8.imageshack.us/img8/3871/gegardmousasi.gif> <img src=http://img262.imageshack.us/img262/4677/mikewhitehead.gif>

(30-3-1) Gegard Mousasi vs. Mike Whitehead (25-7)

ROUND 1

Round 1 is underway and it's Mousasi who presses forward, landing a body kick then follows up with a combination to the body then a nice right uppercut. Another quick combination followed by a big right hook lands on Whitehead as he barely manages to cover up but Mousasi lets him off the hook as he instead decides to take the fight to the ground and Whitehead is getting smothered on the bottom as we pass the halfway point of the round. Mousasi throws some mean looking strikes from the guard but Whitehead isn't troubled by them and he manages to find an opening to impressively scramble back to his feet but he doesn't last long there as Mousasi comes forward and plants him on his back again just as the round comes to an end.

ROUND 2

Round 2 begins with Whitehead taking a kick to the ribs then to the thigh before Mousasi once again tests his takedown defense which doesn't hold up and Whitehead has no choice but to pull guard. This time Mousasi isn't contend to stay in guard, instead immediately looking to pass, and does get to side control then to mount without any resistance from his opponent whatsoever. From the mount Mousasi looks to lock up an armbar but Whitehead does a great job of defending it by stacking Mousasi then gains side control himself before looking to mount his opponent but he can't manage it as Mousasi keeps him in side control before the referee decides he has seen enough and decides to stand them up from side control! Whitehead is not happy! and rightfully so as it could potentially cost him the round as he gets taking down almost immediately by Mousasi as the round ends.

ROUND 3

Final round is underway with Whitehead looking to land several strikes on his opponent but Mousasi is moving out of range well before shooting in for the takedown and gets it! The DREAM light heavyweight champion is looking tired as he is simply contend to hold Whitehead in position before Whitehead tries to scramble back to his feet but he's too slow and ends up getting caught in side control then gets his back taking by Mousasi with just a minute left in this contest. Gegard Mousasi shows impressive jiu-jitsu skills to secure an armbar from back control and it's in deep as Whitehead has no choice but to tap.

OFFICIAL DECISION

Jimmy Lennon, Jr. - Ladies and gentleman we have the time of 4:53 in round number 3, an armbar ends this contest as the fighter taps out, he is the winner by way of submission, GEGARD MOUSASI!

----------------------------------------------------------

Jimmy Lennon, Jr. - Alright fans here we go as Strikeforce and Showtime present 5 five minute rounds for the Strikeforce women's middleweight championship of the world.

Introducing to you first on my left, fighting out of the blue corner, trained in the discipline of Muay Thai, her record stands at 6 win and 1 lose with all of her wins coming by way of knockout. From Salvador, Brazil please welcome the hard-hitting challenger, AMANDA NUNES!

And her opponent across the cage, fighting out of the red corner, a fighter trained in Muay Thai and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, with a record including 10 win and just 1 defeat with 8 of her win coming by way of knockout. From Curitiba, Brazil, please welcome the Strikeforce women's middleweight champion of the world, CRISTIANE 'CYBORG' SANTOS!

<img src=http://img200.imageshack.us/img200/8748/criscyborg.gif> <img src=http://img511.imageshack.us/img511/5805/amandanunes.gif>

(10-1) Cristiane Santos © vs. Amanda Nunes (6-1)

*A video package airs before the fight, highlighting Cris Cyborg's dominance in recent fights as it looks like Strikeforce are putting alot of hype around there champion for this fight*

ROUND 1

We shall see if Cyborg can live up to that hype as round 1 of this championship fight gets underway and immediately both fighters come toe-to-toe in the center of the cage but amazingly none of the strikes land as Nunes decides to back away and she's showing good movement to avoid some vicious leg kicks from her opponent and the dangerous intentions behind those kicks are enough for Nunes to look to close the distance and clinch with Cyborg but she's kept at bay with a jab however that doesn't stop Nunes trying again and this time she's rocked by a solid right hook from the champion but she still continues to come into the pocket looking to clinch and this time she is wobbled by another big right from Cyborg and this really isn't a good strategy from the challenger! She is still in the fight though and does look for a big right hand of her own but it doesn't land and she is forced to take a big right kick to the lead leg as the round comes to a close! Nunes does very well to survive!

ROUND 2

Bell sounds for round number 2 and Nunes comes inside with a nice jab then immediately gets back to the outside but she may have annoyed the champion, who looks to close the distance but she can't land anything as they end up in a tight clinch and it's Cyborg who lands the better shots inside but they soon break apart from the clinch but Nunes is still content in coming inside but she's kept at bay by Cyborg's strikes then has to get out of the way of a huge right hook which she does as the round ends and so far this fight isn't turning out to be the war that Strikeforce expected it to be!

ROUND 3

Round number 3 gets underway and there's no lack of commitment from these fighters as they both come into the center of the cage looking to strike but neither can find there range and this time it's Cyborg who wants to clinch but Nunes avoids and Cyborg looks tired! The challenger again looks like she wants to stand in the pocket and strike but rather uncharacteristically Cyborg isn't having any of it and backs out of range so Nunes tries a different tactic and goes for a superman punch but she gets countered as Cyborg lands a vicious leg kick but that ambitious superman punch, although not finding it's target, does get Nunes in close and this time Cyborg is happy to throw down as she unloads with a flurry of rights and lefts but they all miss and the persistance of Nunes pays off big time as she thunders a big right hand straight down the throat of the champion, and Cyborg is down! Nunes is pounding away looking to finish and Cyborg is in serious trouble here as the referee decides he has seen enough and stops the fight!!!

The 5/1 underdog has stunned the seemingly unbeatable champion but it's not without controversy as the fans are booing the hell out of that stoppage and Cyborg herself is furious as she believes that the fight was stopped early but nonetheless we have a new champion as the curse of Strikeforce well and truly strikes again!

OFFICIAL DECISION

Jimmy Lennon, Jr. - Ladies and gentleman we have the time of 3:04 in round number 3, our referee in charge stops the contest due to strikes, she is the winner by way of technical knockout and the new Strikeforce women's middleweight champion of the world, AMANDA NUNES!

<img src=http://img717.imageshack.us/img717/8904/rafaelcavalcante.gif> <img src=http://img651.imageshack.us/img651/8023/danhenderson.gif>

(10-2) Rafael Cavalcante vs. Dan Henderson (26-8)

ROUND 1

The main event of the evening for the Strikeforce light heavyweight title is underway and it's the challenger that is immediately on the defensive as he has to avoid several strikes and a takedown from the champion, which he does and Henderson pulls Feijao into a clinch and he uses his wrestling to pin him against the cage before using underhooks to trip Feijao to the ground. Henderson passes to half guard before he has to block a sweep attempt from his opponent then tries to pass to side control but Feijao keeps him at half guard as the round comes to a close and that little stalemate on the ground did not impress the fans at all!

ROUND 2

Round 2 begins and Feijao comes out with a spinning roundhouse kick and it only just misses as Henderson fakes going for a double leg but Feijao isn't fooled so Henderson decides not to fake and just shoot in which he finds success with as Feijao has to pull guard and it's not long before he's put in danger as Henderson unloads with big right hands but he can't force the stoppage as instead Hendo passes to half guard but can't get any further than that as we fall into the stalemate that frustrated the fans in the first round as Henderson cannot get passed his opponents half guard but at the same time is far to strong to allow Feijao to sweep him and the round ends.

ROUND 3

Round number 3 is underway with Henderson using a couple of jabs to set up another takedown attempt which Feijao desperately tries to counter by grabbing the neck of his opponent but he can't get it and has to pull guard. Henderson again gets to half guard and unbelievably this fight goes the exact same route as the previous 2 rounds and the round ends with Henderson in half guard.

ROUND 4

We are into the championship rounds as both look to land strikes but neither do as Feijao looks to clinch but Henderson uses his jab to keep him at bay for the time being but Feijao keeps on coming and manages to lock his opponent into a muay thai clinch but a knee strike is blocked as Henderson uses his wrestling to work his way out of the position then has to defend against a Feijao takedown which he not only does, but manages to wrestle him to the floor and he passes to side control for the first time in the fight and he uses it to lock in an Americana and it's fully extended but the clock saves Feijao!

ROUND 5

Fifth and final round is underway with Feijao probably needing a stoppage of some sorts and he does come forward looking for a takedown but it's avoided however he does manage to get the muay thai clinch again, can he inflict some damage from this position? No he cannot as Henderson proves to strong as he wrestles free and both fighters seem completely exhausted, and it shows as Feijao stuffs a Henderson takedown for the first time in the fight then backs him up against the cage before taking the Olympic wrestler down but he cannot take advantage of it, instead seems like he's using it to take a breather rather than to look to force the stoppage and the fight comes to an end with Feijao on top of Dan Henderson.

OFFICIAL DECISION

Jimmy Lennon, Jr. - Ladies and gentleman after 3 rounds of action we have a unanimous decision, here are the score totals. All three judges at ringside score the contest 49-46 in favor of the winner and the new Strikeforce light heavyweight champion of the world, DAN HENDERSON!

CRUZ COMES FROM BEHIND TO KNOCKOUT TORRES

Arguably the most underrated champion in the UFC right now, Dominick Cruz once again proved the doubters wrong after coming from behind to stop the Las Vegas oddsmakers favourite, and former champion Miguel Torres with a stunning third round knockout.

From the outset it looked as if the odds were stacked rightfully in the favor of the challenger after he not only took the first round but went on to drop the champion not once but twice in the second round, but when Torres failed to finish, it seemed to give Cruz a major confidence boost, which he utilized perfectly by catching Miguel Torres coming in with a huge right hand to impressively keep hold of the UFC bantamweight championship.

Elsewhere on the card, George Sotiroupolos moved a step closer to earning a shot at the lightweight championship after he moved to 9-0 in his UFC career with an impressive submission victory over Dennis Siver.

CYBORG EARNS IMMEDIATE REMATCH FOLLOWING CONTROVERSIAL STOPPAGE

Following the referee's decision to call an abrupt halt to the Strikeforce women's 145-pound championship bout, deeming Cristiane 'Cyborg' Santos unable to intelligently defend herself, Strikeforce CEO Scott Coker today sent a press release out to the MMA media stating that the promotion would be putting together an immediate rematch.

"To begin with the rematch wasn't something we were considering because we have a few other girls in line for that spot, but you know I've had so many messages from the fans and from you guys in the media that i believe it makes sense to do this fight" Coker said during the press release.

However the rematch between Nunes and Santos won't actually be an immediate one, after Amanda Nunes' manager confirmed that the new 145-pound champion suffered a knee injury which will sideline her for at least 2 months.
