Supreme Wrestling Federation: Under Pressure

Recommended Posts

http://i754.photobucket.com/albums/xx181/jhdTEW/SWF%20Diary/Logos%20and%20Belts/SWFUnderPressure.jpg

December 11th 2009 was one of the few days upon which the fate of the entire American wrestling industry was balanced. Like the 1980 Supreme Challenge, the events that day would effect the business in untold ways.

That cold night in 2009 was of course, the night of Christmas Clash '09 - the stage for the final chapter in the much lauded 'Jack Bruce: Man Under Pressure' storyline. Having been the target of backstage attacks and mysterious taunts for almost nine months, SWF World Champion Jack Bruce had finally decided Rich Money was the culprit. The two fought the most brutal match in years, with Bruce victorious only after Money couldn't answer the ten count. But as Money was being stretchered out of the arena, Bruce's worst nightmares came true when Eric Eisen appeared for the first time in months and revealed that it was in fact he that had masterminded the 'Long Island Angel's' months of hell.

Apart from being a critical and commercial success, Christmas Clash will be remembered for one vital point. A few lines above this one I described the main event as 'the most brutal match in years' – it was the most brutal match 12 years and 10 months, to be exact. The most brutal match since Tommy Cornell and Nemesis fought to a standstill on an episode of Supreme Assault TV recorded in February 1997. The fallout of such extreme violence was the immediate firing of Nemesis and Tommy Cornell's subsequent departure for J.K. Stalling's Hollyweird Grappling Company. And as we all know, Tommy Cornell soon became the biggest name in professional wrestling; Richard Eisen couldn't make the same mistake twice.

Could he?

Unfortunately he could. With sponsors calling for someone's head, Richard made the decision that would have enormous repercussions. He blamed Jack Bruce. He stopped short of firing the 'Long Island Angel,' but instead informed him that he wouldn't receive a rematch at When Hell Freezes Over and that he would undergo a gimmick change. But whilst Rich Money's character morphed from ****y rich man to fan favourite loner, Jack Bruce was moving from wrestling icon to a selfish, despised diva. He would also be pinned cleanly by Runaway Train on the first Supreme TV of 2010. Bruce was not happy. Why was he being blamed for being the protagonist in the most successful storyline in years? Especially when neither Money nor Eric Eisen were being punished.

But where Eisen really fell down, was his belief that Bruce would accept the punishment and carry on with his job; after all Richard Eisen had made Jack Bruce a star. Sure, Bruce let himself be pinned by Runaway Train, but Eisen hadn't taken into account the small matter of the New Yorker's contract having only one month remaining. Bruce refused to re-sign with the Supreme Wrestling Federation. The roster were up in arms. In their eyes their biggest name had been pushed out of the door, what would stop Eisen from firing any one of them? The answer came three days after Bruce had left the Supreme Wrestling Federation Headquarters for good...

"That's not...it can't be..."

-Kyle Rhodes

"GOOD LORD KYLE, IT IS! Jack Bruce has finally returned to TCW!"

-Jason Azaria

Jack Bruce stepped out from behind the curtain in front of 10,000 unsuspecting TCW fans on the third TCW Presents of 2010. Thanks to the huge interest in social media, the internet dirt sheets and the cryptic message Bruce had left on his website, at twenty minutes past nine SWF viewing figures dropped sharply as every wrestling fan in the country switched over to GNN Total Sports.

By the end of the night the SWF roster had their answer. Richard Eisen wouldn't be firing anyone else – he couldn't afford to. The war that Eisen had started, in one special moment swung in TCW's favour.

TV Viewing Figures for Tuesday January 16th 2010:

SWF Supreme TV...6.25

TCW Presents Total Wrestling...6.28

The numbers never lie. For the first time in years, the Supreme Wrestling Federation was a promotion Under Pressure...

What's the big idea?

As you have gathered by now, Jack Bruce has left the SWF and headed for TCW. The SWF's promotion has also headed towards a more PG-rated product than before, largely to appease Eisen's bigger sponsors. Before the game started the Risque product level was taken down to medium and Bruce was given a two year written deal with TCW.

In terms of an 'aim', this New Generation vision for the SWF will see a bigger reliance on younger, or at least untested wrestlers as Eisen hopes to build a younger, fresher, but more importantly more loyal, main event. That doesn't mean that I won't sign anyone over a certain age, nor does it mean that I won't be hiring anyone from TCW or USPW, but it does mean that these types of signings will be limited and only where I can find a reasonable role for said worker to fulfill.

What to Expect...

Presentation wise, this diary will go back to the look of Battle for Prime Time, but with a few improvements. Shows will be slightly longer than my USPW diary, being more in line with that of the few TNA shows I managed to complete.

Some of the best feedback I received about Battle for Prime Time was that it managed to capture the 'feeling' of USPW and that is also my hope with Under Pressure.

This diary will live in a sort of Twilight Zone between Bigpapa42's Generation Supreme and Dark Days diaries. Some ideas, nicknames, catchphrases and match types will be borrowed, with permission, from these iconic portrayals of the SWF. You may also see some similarities in backstories and 'historic' notes, most noticeably the previous winners of the King of the Squared Circle tournament, and Jerry Eisen's position as Acting General Manager. There may also be references to other diaries, including my own, most likely when referencing a new signing's past achievements.

The diary will follow the calendar system I employed in TNA 2010: An Immortal iMPACT! For those not familiar with the diary, each day is assigned a date, so rather than Tuesday Week 2 February, the same day would be written as February 9th.

Can I join in?

I will try and answer any and all questions you have throughout the course of the diary and like the two writers I am about to thank, I will endeavour to respond to as many comments as possible. As with most diaries on the GDS boards predictions are both welcome and encouraged. A prediction competition will run for three months in-game at the end of which the individual with the most correct predictions will be given a prize which will be decided nearer the time.

CREDITS

Massive thanks to Kamchatka for the awesome new SWF logo. This diary will also include renders by the likes of Self, jtlant, Sebsplex, ewanite and LoNdOn so thanks also goes to them for their hard work. On the writing side, TheLeviticalLawKid3, PeterHilton, Bigpapa42 and 20LEgend all deserve credit for the fantastic help they have provided in their articles and the show TLLK3 and Peter's have made their own, AFTERMATH!

As with BfPT I have done a number of alts that have, so far, not been released. When they debut in the show they will be posted shortly afterwards in full size should anyone wish to use them.

I'd also like to put in writing my thanks to angeldelayette, BigPapa42, Eisen-Verse and PeterHilton for their encouragement in getting this diary off the ground.

And of course, all the reader whose comments keep me coming back :D

SHOW INDEX

http://i754.photobucket.com/albums/xx181/jhdTEW/SWF%20Diary/Logos%20and%20Belts/SWF_jhd5.jpg

As with all of my diaries, I will try and keep this index up-to-date with links to the latest shows. I have always found that prediction cards offer an interesting insight into prior events, and sometimes even the reasons for upcoming matches. For that reason I will also include a link to these posts under the Preview link.

This is awesome! *clap clap CLAP CLAP CLAP* This is awesome! *clap clap CLAP CLAP CLAP*

Forget Jack Bruce...the new gen of SWF is a whole lot better.

PM me and let me know if there is any way I can add to this dynasty like I did for your TNA one.

Thanks for the comments so far everyone.

Can't wait!

When did Eric Eisen win the title in this story?

Eric Eisen still won the title at Christmas Clash, but instead of the three-way storyline that begins the game, Bruce was taken out and it became a feud between Money and Eisen only. The diary starts in February but I'll be doing a recap of January tonight, and I'll be adding some more information to the second post too.

This will certainly be a great project, my friend. I, actually, just re-read your USPW dynasty a few days ago as I was itching for something to read. That said, I'm really excited to see where this goes. I have no doubt that you'll do a great job; you've got a reader in me.</p><p> </p><p>

<div style="text-align:center;"><span>http://i754.photobucket.com/albums/xx181/jhdTEW/SWF%20Diary/Logos%20and%20Belts/SWFUnderPressure.jpg</span><p><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> </span></p><p><span style="font-family:Tahoma;">

</span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"><strong>THE STORY SO FAR - JANUARY</strong></span></p></div><p></p><p></p><p><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> </span></p><p><span style="font-family:Tahoma;">

The turn of the year saw Eric Eisen celebrate more than most. His victory over Jack Bruce at Christmas Clash meant he had become the most hated World Champion in SWF history, giving him great momentum in his feud with Rich Money. Money's new 'Lone Wolf' character went down well amongst fans who saw him as their best chance to rid Eisen of the World title. Eric Eisen, as World Champion, took it upon himself to instruct Acting General Manager, and his own brother, Jerry Eisen in the ways of match making - usually with dire consequences for Rich Money. The two met at </span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"><em>When Hell Freezes Over</em></span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> and, perhaps unsurprisingly, it would be Eric Eisen being declared victorious at the end of the match. Once again Eric had done his best to screw Money out of the title, having had 'Hard Cash' placed in a handicap match against Marat Khoklov and Enforcer Roberts two nights before on Supreme TV.</span></p><p><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> </span></p><p><span style="font-family:Tahoma;">

Marat Khoklov was also enjoying his own personal battle with 'The Eternal' Christian Faith. The gigantic Russian had tormented Faith for weeks and although at </span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"><em>Hell Freezes Over</em></span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> he lost by disqualification, the beating he dealt the legend with a steel chair was enough to keep the 'Soviet Science Experiment' happy.</span></p><p><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> </span></p><p><span style="font-family:Tahoma;">

In the North American title scene Brandon James and his manager Emma Chase both had to deal with contender Joe Sexy. James' managed to avoid confrontation with the ladies man, but Emma couldn't seem to escape him. Sexy's persistence would be his downfall at </span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"><em>When Hell Freezes Over</em></span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> when he caught a low-blow from Chase to hand James' the victory.</span></p><p><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> </span></p><p><span style="font-family:Tahoma;">

The biggest tag team story of January was, of course, the formation of sXe, the Straight Edge pair Angry Gilmore and Squeeky McClean. The pair quickly challenged the World Tag Team Champions Giedroyc & Valiant to a match at </span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"><em>Nothing to Lose</em></span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;">. Giedroyc & Valiant accepted, having defeated The Amazing Bumfhole's in a ladder match at </span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"><em>When Hell Freezes Over.</em></span></p><p><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> </span></p><p><span style="font-family:Tahoma;">

Bruce's shocking departure left a sizeable hole at the top of the roster and many set about trying to fill it. John Greed was one such individual, attaching himself to Vengeance, even though 'The Reaper' appeared to want nothing to do with him. The deceptively intelligent Texan claimed that he held the key to Vengeance's success and that should he join Greed's 'Brotherhood' then a World title would surely follow for the big man. Greed also claimed to know the individual behind a series of mystery attacks that had become standard fare on Supreme TV. The victims of one such beating were Shady K and Knuckles, better known as Death Row; neither have been seen since.</span></p><p><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> </span></p><p><span style="font-family:Tahoma;">

Elsewhere, Frederique Antonio Garcia continued his formidable losing streak, handing victories to the likes of Lobster Warrior, Jungle Lord and Captain Atomic. And finally, Acting GM Jerry Eisen announced that February would see the return of the Shooting Star title, setting up an eight-man tournament for the vacant belt.</span></p><p><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> </span></p><p><span style="font-family:Tahoma;">

</span></p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"><strong>THE STORY SO FAR - FEBRUARY WEEKS 1 & 2</strong></span></p></div><p></p><p></p><p><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> </span></p><p><span style="font-family:Tahoma;">

On February's first Supreme TV, Jerry Eisen announced that the eight men competing in the Shooting Star tournament would be; Gregory Black, Jungle Lord, Robbie Retro, Brett Biggz, Paul Huntingdon, Akima Brave, Kid Toma and Marc DuBois. After one round, Marc DuBois, Gregory Black, Paul Huntingdon and Jungle Lord remain.</span></p><p><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> </span></p><p><span style="font-family:Tahoma;">

After a successful January, Eric Eisen confirmed the employment of Enforcer Roberts and Marat Khoklov to his 'staff.' The group would become known as The Corporation, and together would make the lives of Christian Faith and Rich Money intolerable. Backstage attacks, in-ring taunts and mid-match distractions ensured that neither Faith, nor Money, forgot just who was in charge in the SWF.</span></p><p><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> </span></p><p><span style="font-family:Tahoma;">

The battle for Emma Chase and the North American title continued, with Joe Sexy demanding a shot at the title, and Emma Chase's managerial contract, at </span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"><em>Nothing to Lose</em></span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;">. James' agreed, but only on the condition that should Sexy lose, he wouldn't recieve a shot while James remained champ. Emma Chase would once again decide the match, distracting the referee while 'Big Money' drove the title belt into Sexy's face.</span></p><p><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> </span></p><p><span style="font-family:Tahoma;">

Early in the month, Christian Faith agreed to meet Marat Khoklov in a No Disqualification match at </span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"><em>Nothing to Lose</em></span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;">. In one of the most surprising results of 2010 Marat Khoklov pinned a less-than-energetic Faith cleanly in the centre of the ring to gain victory.</span></p><p><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> </span></p><p><span style="font-family:Tahoma;">

Having made the challenge in January, sXe were more than ready for Giedroyc & Valiant come </span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"><em>Nothing To Lose</em></span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;">. A fantastic tag team match provided a spectacle for the audience but left them stunned when Gilmore pinned Valiant ten minutes into the match. The now former tag team champions where beside themselves, as were their managers Dawn and Hannah who began blaming everyone under the sun. Gilmore & McClean, on the other hand, were convinced that their straight edge lifestyle had guided them to victory - something they will no doubt be keen to emphasise in the weeks to come.</span></p><p><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> </span></p><p><span style="font-family:Tahoma;">

Steve Frehley and Vengeance had been feuding throughout the back end of 2009 and through most of January. The two would finally agree to end their rivalry in a Casket match at </span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"><em>Nothing to Lose</em></span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;">. After a back and forth encounter, Frehley looked within minutes of victory before John Greed came charging in, hitting 'The Destroyer' with a </span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"><em>Crash Diet</em></span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;">, before helping Vengeance to throw him into the casket. The two then horrified the audience, pushing the casket off the stage.</span></p><p><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> </span></p><p><span style="font-family:Tahoma;">

In the main event of </span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"><em>Nothing To Lose </em></span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;">Rich Money once again met Eric Eisen for the World title. This time, however, things were much more even and Money almost had the match won on several occassions. Eventually though, 'Hard Cash' would be robbed by Enforcer Roberts who pushed Money's foot off the ropes during what would prove to be the winning pin. Money was incensed but The Corporation were more than happy to take the victory and run. Quickly.</span></p><p><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"> </span></p><p><span style="font-family:Tahoma;">

The SWF also announced in February that they had agreed a new contract with C.A.N.N., extending Supreme TV from 90 minutes to 2 hours. The Supreme TV after </span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;"><em>Nothing To Lose</em></span><span style="font-family:Tahoma;">, our next show, will be the first of these 120 minute episodes.</span></p>

Great rundown, still don't get out some writers can do such a good piece of writing in a summary, its hard to get across what you want to say I know I've tried but it was really well done, a couple of months in is always best as I'm so used to the default CV by now. I still can't wait, especially with Greed's push by association!

<p>Good to see you back in the diary writing game, I remember your short-lived USPW one being excellent and this looks like it will be up to the same standards at the very least. </p><p> </p><p>

<strong>The Samoan Wildboyz</strong> vs The Biggz Boyz</p><p> </p><p>

<em>Biggz just have that air of 'jobber' about them, a high flying pair who were cool and innovative when they first arrived on the scene but now look 'old hat'.</em> </p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Randy Bumfhole</strong> vs Frederique Antonio Garcia</p><p> </p><p>

<em>Frederique's been on the losing streak, and I see no reason why it won't continue here.</em></p><p> </p><p>

Paul Huntingdon vs <strong>Gregory Black </strong><span style="font-size:8px;"><strong>(</strong></span><span style="font-size:8px;">Shooting Star Tournament Semi-Final)</span></p><p> </p><p>

<em>Black will get past Huntingdon, where he will meet Huntingdon's Tag partner in the final</em> </p><p> </p><p>

Jungle Lord vs <strong>Runaway Train</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<em>Runaway Train did get the win over Jack Bruce, but that was less about giving Train one last run at the top and more about Eisen being a c0ck and thinking he could get away with depushing Jack Bruce, and expecting some loyalty in return </em><img alt=":p" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><em> On the other hand Jungle Lord should be kept looking strong for his Shooting Star semi final with Marc Du Bois...however I'm still stumping for Train after all this, because despite Train heading downward, losing to a former World Champion should carry no shame for Jungle Lord...even if in reality that former World Champion really sucks.</em> </p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Remo </strong>vs Lobster Warrior</p><p> </p><p>

<em>Remo's a bad-ass, losing to a man in a comedy Lobster suit won't do much for his bad-assery.</em></p>
