Ultimate Fighting Championships 5: The Return of the Beast!

The Weigh In!

Kimo Leopoldo (235lbs) vs (215lbs) Art Jimmerson

Roland Payne (205lbs) vs (210lbs) Johnny Rhodes

The Tournament;

Amaury Bitetti (185lbs) vs (220lbs) Oleg Taktarov

Dan Severn (250lbs) vs (210lbs) Scott Morris

Ken Shamrock (225lbs) vs (225lbs) Asbel Cancio

Minoki Ichihara (178lbs) vs (263lbs) David Abbott

http://i386.photobucket.com/albums/oo302/brettney1980/WMMA/Real%20World%20MMA/ufc.gif

A few rule changes have been put in place tonight, the referee will only stop the fight if the fallen fighter is not "Intelligently defending" themselves. Referees now have the power to seperate fighters on the ground if they are inactive and finally Strikes to the groin are now considered fouls (alongside the usual Headbutting, Eye gouging and Biting).

Fight 1,

Minoki Ichihara (Karate) (2-1) vs 'Tank' Abbott (Pit Fighting) (0-0)

'Tank' is waay larger than Ichihara but going by previous UFC tounaments bigger almost never meens better so this isn't an easy win for Tank. After checking a leg kick Tank destroys Ichihara with some big punches and he callapseso he ground where the ref steps in to stop any more damage.

Winner Via TKO (Strikes) Tank Abbott in 7:42 (Decent).

Fight 2,

'The Worlds Most Dangerous Man' Ken Shamrock (Shoot Fighting) (6-2) vs Asbel Cancio (Wing Tsun Kung Fu) (0-0)

With both men weighing in at the same 225lbs it looks like a pretty even fight to the who haven't seen Shamrock before, he took Cancio down fairly easily and once on the ground it was only going to end one way.

Winner Via Submission (Armbar) Ken Shamrock in 2:27 (Great).

Fight 3,

'The Beast' Dan Severn (Wrestling) (3-0) vs Scott Morris (Ninjitsu) (3-1)

The match we've been waiting for, for 5 months ever since Dan Severn called him out after winning UFC 4. The announcers go over that for the last year+ Scott Morris has been telling everyone who will listen that if it wasn't for his long semi final match exhausting him he would of won UFC 2. Now the question will be answered ... Severn gets a couple of Takedowns to his name but struggles to finish Morris off in the first 5 minutes or so. Severn hits what is becoming his trademark something not seen by anyone else in the UFC he lifts up Morris and Slams him down. Morris again whilst down prevents the Rear Naked Choke and then with the hooks still in place Severn hits some big Strikes pounding away on his opponant.

Winner Via TKO (Strikes) Dan Severn in 10:03 (Good).

Fight 4,

Amaury Bitetti (Brazilian Jiu Jitsu) (2-1) vs 'The Russian Bear' Oleg Taktarov (Sambo) (3-0)

Taktarov is a European judo, Sambo and jiu jitsu champion, he has been living in Dallas and has not lost in ten years. The Announcers hype him as a big deal and a major threat to win the tournament. He fights in a full blue gi - we will see if that works as well for him as it did for Gracie. The announcers spend a few minutes going over Bitetti's many accomplishments in Vale Tudo and Jiu Jitsu to start. The fight went longest of the night so far.

Winner Via Submission (Triangle with Armbar) Amaury Bitetti in 16:12 (Average).

http://i386.photobucket.com/albums/oo302/brettney1980/WMMA/Real%20World%20MMA/ufc.gif

Fight 5,

Roland Payne (Kick Boxing) (1-1) vs Johnny Rhodes (Karate) (1-1)

The first of 2 non Tournament fights. Both fighters quickly got close and starting exchanging close range strikes until an Enormous Right Hand from Johnny Rhodes puts Roland Payne out before he even hits the ground.

Winner Via Knock Out (Punch) Johnny Rhodes in 1:27 (Good).

Semi Finals,

Fight 6,

'The Worlds Most Dangerous Man' Ken Shamrock (Shoot Fighting) (7-2) vs David 'Tank' Abbott (Pit Fighter) (1-0)

Surprising a few people the fight went long, Tank hit some big punches almost putting Shamrock out on his feet but he soon got back in his stride and went back to trying to take the big man down. The announcers were just saying that Shamrock is rocked and really doesn't look like he has much left in the tank (excuse the pun) when Abbott misses with a left leaving himself open to a massive Uppercut from Shamrock and he proves just why he is called the Worlds Most Dangerous Man and puts his opponant out.

Winner Via Knock Out (Punch) Ken Shamrock in 18:08 (Good).

Fight 7,

Amaury Bitetti (Brazilian Jiu Jitsu) (3-1) vs 'The Beast' Dan Severn (Wrestling) (4-0)

A takedown within the first minute saw Severn works to side control then gets Bitetti to show his back and locks in the Rear Naked Choke.

Winner Via Submission (Rear Naked Choke) Dan Severn in 3:28 (Great).

http://i386.photobucket.com/albums/oo302/brettney1980/WMMA/Real%20World%20MMA/ufc.gif

Fight 8,

Kimo Leopoldo (Taekwondo) (0-1) vs Art 'One Glove' Jimmerson (Boxing) (0-1)

The fight is alot more even than those that saw both mens last fights, Art has improved alot and got rid of the stupid One Glove he has improved his ground game (from zero to even attempting a submission) Kimo didn't seem quite has prepared has he did for his fight with Royce Gracie.

Winner Via Knock Out (Punch) Kimo Leopoldo in 14:23.

Tournament Final.

Fight 9,

'The Beast' Dan Severn (Wrestling) (5-0) vs 'The Worlds Most Dangerous Man' Ken Shamrock (Shoot Fighting) (7-2)

How much does Shamrock have left in the tank? Can 'The Beast' win his second UFC Tournament in a row? Severn take the first advantag catching a weak leg kick from Shamrock and holding his leg forcing him to the ground. Both are finally stood up after spending a little over 5 minutes on the ground, Shamrock takes the second Takedown right up against the Cage wall and smothers him against it before he attempts a Guillotine Choke.

Winner Via Submission (Guillotine Choke) Ken Shamrock in 14:40 (Decent).

The last UFC event (UFC 5) was the last with the involvement of Rorion Gracie, ostensibly because the introduction of new rules had diluted Gracie's (and his family's) vision for the UFC and vale tudo fighting. MMA Columnist Steve Cofield also noted that the Gracies left the UFC just as the talent level was beginning to increase. Gracie and his partner Art Davie later sold WOW Promotions, co-promoters of the event, to WOW's partner, Semaphore Entertainment Group, who are now sole owners going into UFC 6.

UFC 6 will hold the tag line 'Clash of the Titans (named for the 'Superfight') and we are actually having to fight to get this event to go ahead with the few protesters that have been calling against our events.

UFC 6 is set to feature the first ever crowning of a Champion and not in a Tournament format. The Champion will be the winner of a special match called 'The Superfight'. The match will be a repeat of UFC 5's Tournament final in a match featuring both the last two tournament winners 'The Beast' Dan Severn vs 'The Worlds Most Dangerous Man' Ken Shamrock.

SEG are determined that the show will be the biggest yet with the Tournament, the Superfight and 4 other fights which will feature Christope Leninger (Judo) (0-0) vs David Levicki (Karate) (0-1), Harold Howard (Goju Ryo Karate) (0-1) vs Ray Wizard (Karate) (1-1), Steve Jennum (Ninjitsu) (1-1) vs Oleg Taktarov (Sambo) (3-1) and surely the Octagon will need to be reinforced for this next one Emmanuel Yarbrough (Sumo) (0-1) vs Teila Tuli (Sumo) (0-1).

Finally lets take a look at this Tournaments 8 competitors, Anthony Macias a vicious Muay Thai specialist taking part in his first MMA fight and he will face Larry Cureton a Kick Boxer known has Thunderfoot. Fight 2 will see Canadian Dave Beneteau who is a Wrestler hoping to follow in Severns footsteps and he faces in his first ever MMA fight Guy Mezger who beat Joe Son before losing to Dan Severn at UFC 4 and holds a 3-1 record. Cal Worsham is a Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do and his first MMA fight will be against fellow first timer John Matua who is from Hawaii and fights in the Hawaiian Kuialua style which will be its first representative in the UFC. The final first round fight will see Rudyard Moncayo another new style to UFC Kempo and he will face the much anticipated arrival of Bas Rutten who has already been on radio shows all over hyping up his debut in the UFC lets just hope he performs to his own expectations.

Quick Picks;

The Superfight.

'The Beast' Dan Severn vs 'The Worlds Most Dangerous Man' Ken Shamrock

Tournament;

1, Anthony Macias (Muay Thai) (0-0) vs Larry Cureton (Kick Boxing) (0-0)

3, Cal Worsham (Tae Kwon Do) (0-0) vs John Matua (Kuialua) (0-0)

4, Rudyard Moncayo (Kempo) (0-0) vs Bas Rutten (Hybrid Fighting) (5-1)

LOL @ one glove.. I mean he didn't wanna break his hand MAN!! LOL

I've been watching some of the early UFC fights to get an idea of these fighters and that is easily the funniest thing i've ever seen.

Just realised i missed a fight off the Quick Picks, sorry Acidburned you were quicker than i could spot my mistake. :o

I was reading the preview post and as I was reading I was thinking about my picks and I thought about picking Taktarov but never noticed it wasn't on the quick picks lol.

About the older fights and fighters I was reading about Jon Hess on wiki and he sounds like a complete idiot. These diaries are great for bringing back memories of the old UFC and in some cases brilliant for finding new stuff out.

Ultimate Fighting Championships 6: Clash of the Titans!

http://i386.photobucket.com/albums/oo302/brettney1980/WMMA/Real%20World%20MMA/ufc.gif

Fight 1 (Prelim),

Emmanuel 'Manny' Yarbrough (Sumo) (0-1) vs Teila Tuli (Sumo) (0-1)

Over 1,000lbs of fighters are in the Octagon for this fight, the two men circled for awhile before 'Manny' charged and recieved 'alot' of punches to his head at first it didn't really faze him until a heavy handed fight finished his night and he went down shaking the ground has he landed ...

Winner Via Knock Out (Punch) Teila Tuli in 3:48 (Good)

Fight 2 (Prelim),

Harold Howard (Goju Ryo Karate) (0-1) vs Ray Wizard (Karate) (1-1)

Another same Style fight this time we see Harold Howards Goju Ryo Karate versus Ray Wizards style of 'Classic' Karate. Wizard dodges some wild swings from Howard before hitting a huge close right hand putting his opponant out.

Winner Via Knock Out (Punch) Ray Wizard in 12:24.

http://i386.photobucket.com/albums/oo302/brettney1980/WMMA/Real%20World%20MMA/ufc.gif

Fight 3,

Rudyard Moncayo (Kempo) (0-0) vs Bas Rutten (Hybrid Fighting) (5-1)

Bas Rutten explains in his hype video that he has fought 6 fights already in Japan and he discribes himself has the first master of many styles to enter the Ultimate Fightins Championships. Dont blink or you'll miss Bas Rutten force his opponant backwards from the start and send him into the cage with punch after punch after punch before he eventually finds himself on the floor and the ref has to step in.

Winner Via TKO (Strikes) Bas Rutten in 1:47 (Good).

Fight 4,

Cal Worsham (Tae Kwon Do) (0-0) vs John Matua (Kuialua) (0-0)

Matua is a big guy he stands 6'2 but is 400lbs he dwarfs his opponant. Matua catches/blocks most of Worshams punches before unleashing a barrage of strikes himself knocking his opponant down and dropping with him continuing to pound away until the referee steps in.

Winner Via TKO (Strikes) John Matua in 6:34 (Great).

Fight 5,

Dave Beneteau (Wrestling) (0-0) vs 'The Sandman' Guy Mezger (Kick Boxing) (2-1)

Guy Mezger 'accidently' kicks Beneteau in the groin and the ref uses his power to check on him and he agrees to continue the fight, the fight that is a long drawn out one going along time before they go to the ground and the ref again uses his new power and seperates them on the floor and gets them back on their feet. Dave Beneteau hits a big right hand and knocks Mezger down and he keeps up the pressure hitting punch after punch finding a second wind from somewhere.

Winner Via TKO (Strikes) Dave Beneteau in 27:06 (Decent).

Fight 6,

Anthony Macias (Muay Thai) (0-0) vs Larry 'Thunderfoot' Cureton (Kick Boxing) (0-0)

A straight lef and a few seconds later a couple of huge right hands finish off any hope Macias had he callapses against the cage wall and the reff soon has to step in and seperate the two.

Winner Via TKO (Strikes) Larry Cureton in 1:39 (Good).

http://i386.photobucket.com/albums/oo302/brettney1980/WMMA/Real%20World%20MMA/ufc.gif

Fight 7,

Christope Leninger (Judo) (0-0) vs David Levicki (Karate) (0-1)

After multiple attempts Leninger finally gets Levicky down and he is seemingly out of breath after doing so, after a few Submission attempts the ground fighting goes stale and the referee is forced to stand the two men back up where Leninger goes right back to the game of trying to take Levicki down ... Deja vu. Leninger (when they are back on the ground) shows us how not to perform a Guillotine, he then shows us how you dont lock in an Arm Triangle (very educational) ... Untile they are stood up again .. Rinse and repeat back on the ground but this time we get the Triangle Choke and its good!

Winner Via Submission (Triangle Choke) Christophe Leninger in 23:05 (Good).

http://i386.photobucket.com/albums/oo302/brettney1980/WMMA/Real%20World%20MMA/ufc.gif

Semi-Finals,

Fight 8,

John Matua (Kuialua) (1-0) vs Bas Rutten (Hybrid Fighting) (6-1)

WOw, wow, wow Bas Rutten treats us to a move he's already won in Japan with (so the commentators say, we only have their word for it) he feints low which sets up a brutal Flying Knee which sends Matua crashing to the ground and he is hurt.

Winner Via Knock Out (Flying Knee) Bas Rutten in 1:47 (Good).

Fight 9,

Larry 'Thunderfoot' Cureton (Kick Boxing) (1-0) vs Dave Beneteau (Wrestling) (1-0)

There is a massive 26:27 difference in times these two have spent in the Octagon, Beneteau manges a strong right hand but he just doesn't have enough left in the tank to finish Cureton off who just cant seem to finish off Beneteau and we have a stalemate that goes the full 30 minutes.

Winner Via Judges Decision Dave Beneteau (Poor).

http://i386.photobucket.com/albums/oo302/brettney1980/WMMA/Real%20World%20MMA/ufc.gif

Fight 10,

Steve Jennum (Ninjitsu) (1-1) vs Oleg Taktarov (Sambo) (3-1)

Taktarov peforms much better than he did last time out and takes Jennum down easily and locks in an Armbar.

Winner Via Submission (Armbar) Oleg Taktarov in 2:12 (Great).

http://i386.photobucket.com/albums/oo302/brettney1980/WMMA/Real%20World%20MMA/ufc.gif

Fight 11,

Dave Beneteau (Wrestling) (2-0) vs Bas Rutten (Hybrid Fighting) (6-1)

The commentators again go over the difference in times that these two have spent in the Octagon with Dave Beneteau logging in at 57:06 compared to the 3:54 that Bas Ruttens been in it is pointed out thet Beneteau's vit was longer than Bas Ruttens two fights and that must go massively in his favour. We get out second groin hit of the night (for those that keep score of those things) when Bas Rutten hits some stinging hard kicks to the right leg of Dave Beneteau when he accidently hits one in his groin. A push kick to the stomach is all it took to sprawl the gassed Beneteau out on the floor Rutten goes to pound on him but the ref steps in immediately.

Fight 12 - The Superfight!

'The Beast' Dan Severn vs 'The Worlds Most Dangerous Man' Ken Shamrock

The big one, the Superbowl of the UFC, who will become the first ever Ultimate Fighting Championship 'Superfight' Champion!? Four months after a Guillotine Choke ended Dan Severns attempt at succesfully defending the Tournament crown and in the process won Ken Shamrock his first Tournament win these two men will go at it for a second time. Shamrock tries to take down Severn but his sprawl is to good and 'The Worlds most Dangerous Man' finds himself face first into the mat before being on the recieving end of Severn dropping his Knee on him twice, before Severn stays on his knees and hits some short knees to the side of the head but both men eventually get back up (Shamrock has one tough head). THe fight goes up against the cage and both men have attempts at Submissions but its Shamrocks second attempt at an Arm submission that does it.

Winner Via Submission (Arm Triangle) Ken Shamrock in 12:24 (Decent).

FoTN: John Matue vs Cal Worsham

KOoTN: Teila Tuli

SoTN: Ken Shamrock

Critical Success: Good

Ultimate Fighting Championships 7: Last Chance Saloon!

http://i386.photobucket.com/albums/oo302/brettney1980/WMMA/Real%20World%20MMA/Ufc7.gif

Anyone that went to the show would of seen the protesters lead by Senator McCain outside the venue, they even tried to get the event cancelled calling the sport amoungst other things "Human C0ckfighting" but just hours before the show was set to start SEG won the battle and the ULtimate Fighting Championships would continue ... For this show at least.

http://i386.photobucket.com/albums/oo302/brettney1980/WMMA/Real%20World%20MMA/ufc.gif

Fight 1,

Jason Delucia (Kung Fu) (1-1) vs Asbel Cancio (Wing Tsun Kung Fu) (0-1)

Asbel gives up around 35lbs in this battle of the different forms of Kun Fu. Alot of strikes are thrown in this fight and the back and forth nature could make this the best UFC fight we've ever seen, A big right cross from Asbel Cancio puts Delucia down and he is out. I think we will be seeing that Knock Out for some time to come.

Winner Via Knock Out (Punch) Asbel Cancio in 9:14 (Fantastic).

Fight 2,

'Nasty' Zane Fraser (Karate) (0-1) vs Robert Lucarelli (Brawler) (0-1)

Two men with quite the unflattering records are back, and Frasier is a much bigger fighter than Lucarelli and we know how that usually fares ... A big punch from Zane Frasier lands on target and Lucarelli is down leaving Frasier to pound on him until the ref stops the fight.

Winner Via TKO (Strikes) Zane Frasier in 1:55 (Good).

Fight 3,

Patrick Smith (Tae Kwon Do) (0-2) vs Art 'One Glove' Jimmerson (Boxing) (0-2)

Smith actually shows abit of ground game this time and the announcers go over that some of the fighters are now learning to fight like this tobe more than a one trick pony because of how easy some of the Strikers have been beaten by Grapplers. Pat Smith actually takes down 'One Glove' twice but after inaction the first time he uses a Guillotine the second time to make his opponant tap.

Winner Via Submission (Guillotine) Pat Smith in 2:25 (Great).

End of Prelims.

http://i386.photobucket.com/albums/oo302/brettney1980/WMMA/Real%20World%20MMA/ufc.gif

Ultimate Fighting Championship Tournament Starts.

Fight 4,

Gerard Gordeau (Karate) (3-2) vs Amaury Bitetti (Brazilian Jiu Jitsu) (3-2)

Gordeau stands 8 inches taller than Bitetti adn has a 6 inch reach advantage, will this be significant!? Yes and no. Bitetti spends over 20 minutes trying to take down Gordeau who prevented the takedowns each and every time in the 22nd minute when Bitetti was rather lucky in putting the Dutchman on the floor and his better ground game did the rest.

Winner Via Submission (Americana) Amaury Bitetti in 26:03 (Average).

Fight 5,

'King of the Streets' Marco Ruas (Ruas Vale Tudo) (0-0-1) vs Onassis Parungao (Tong Kong Kung Fu) (0-0)

To say that Ruas is a lean is an understatement, as the guy looks exactly like what you would think an athlete should look like. Some brutal Knees to the stomach and head whilst in a Muay Thai style clinch looked like they would end Parungaos night but he battled on and backed away from Takedown attempt from Ruas numerous times. Again Ruas used the Muay Thai clinch and rocked his opponant with Knee strikes enough to take him down and soon the Rear Naked Choke is in good.

Winner Via Submission (Rear Naked Choke) Marco Ruas in 21:32 (Average).

We've had two very long fights so far if we have a short one in the next two someone is going to be going into the semis with a massive advantage.

Fight 6,

David 'Tank' Abbott (Pit Fighting) (1-1) vs Andy 'The Hammer' Anderson (Tae Kwon Do) (2-0)

Andy Anderson is only 5'6 but that isn't even the most telling stat, that goes to Tank Abbott having an 81" reach whilst Andersons is only 65" .. Tank counters an early left jab with huge rights and Anderson callapses against the Cage falling to thr ground almost in slow motion whilst Tank continues to throw punches leaving the ref no option but to to step in and stop the fight.

Winner Via TKO (Strikes) 'Tank' Abbott in 0:56 (Good).

Fight 7,

Alberta Cerra Leon (Boxing) (2-0) vs 'Freek' Hamaker (Sambo) (3-2)

The Freek is back against the undeafeted Mexican Boxer Alberta Cerra Leon. Freek takes down his opponant fairly quickly and attempt a couple of half hearted Submissions then tries to pound away before settling fopr an Armbar .. And it works, in what was an amazing fight.

Winner Via Submission (Armbar) 'Freek' Hamaker in 5:19 (Fantastic).

Semi-Finals,

Fight 8,

'King of the Streets' Marco Ruas (Ruas Vale Tudo) (1-0-1) vs Amaury Bitetti (Brazilian Jiu Jitsu) (4-2)

In a fight where Ruas proved to be just that much better at Takedowns than Bitetti and finally getting a Submission hold to stick he picked up the win.

Winner Via Submission (Rear Naked Choke) Marco Ruas in 14:31 (Poor).

Fight 9,

'Freek' Hamaker (Sambo) (4-2) vs David 'Tank' Abbott (Pit Fighting) (2-1)

Quick movement from Hamaker saw him constantly moving out of range of Tanks big Fists so much so that he only hit one punch. Freek after two unsuccessful attempts managed to take Tank down third time lucky and soon the surprise of the round say him make Tank tap.

Winner Via Submission (Arm Triangle) 'Freek' Hamaker in 3:50 (Decent).

Fight 10,

'The Sandman' Guy Mezger (Kick Boxing) (2-2) vs Kimo Leopoldo (Tae Kwon Do) (1-1)

Now this fight was billed has 'The Grudge match' i'm no fighter but i don't know how much of a grudge it is to be fighting the man who beat your trainer fair and square!? But anyway, even though Kimo is big it's Guy Mezger who apparently has the better Reach at 79" to Kimos 72" Kimo half stumbles and Mezger catches him with his Right and puts him down showing good killer instinct Guy Mezger uses this golden oppurtunity and rains down punches and Kimo is in big trouble .. The ref jumps in and stops the fight and Kimo is not happy, infact he's down right furious with the decision, he's complaining that it was an early stoppage ... and he does have a point!

Winner Via TKO (Strikes) Guy Mezger in 4:15 (Great).

Tournament Final.

'Freek' Hamaker (Sambo) (5-2) vs 'King of the Streets' Marco Ruas (Ruas Vale Tudo) (2-0-1)

I've got to say the advantage looks to be with 'Freek' here after his fights didn't go half as long as Ruas' infact they went 1/4 to be precise. Ruas manages to take Hamaker down and they scramble on the ground Ruas grabs 'Freeks' arm but fails to lock in the Arm Triangle Ruas takes Hamakers back has he rolled and throws some Strikes and the ref steps in.

Winner Via TKO (Strikes) Marco Ruas in 4:46 (Good).

Ultimate Fighting Championships: The Ultimate Ultimate 1995!

http://i386.photobucket.com/albums/oo302/brettney1980/WMMA/Real%20World%20MMA/UU95.jpg

The Weigh in.

Bas Rutten (205lbs) vs (185lbs) Renzo Gracie

Gerard Gordeau (216lbs) vs (210lbs) Marco Ruas

'Freek' Hamaker (185lbs) vs (250lbs) Dave Beneteau

Kevin Rosier (265lbs) vs (250lbs) Dan Severn

UFC: Ultimate Ultimate!

The event would feature all the previous tournament champions - with the notable exception of Royce Gracie - along with several notable challengers who had made impressive showings even in defeat. A big addition to tonights fights are Octogonside judges, who will score the fights based on aggressiveness, effective striking and ground techniques in the event of a draw.

Fight 1.

Kevin Rosier (Kick Boxing) (3-2) vs 'The Beast' Dan Severn (Wrestling) (5-2)

The Beast makes fairly short work of Rosier quickly taking him down and it wasn't long before an Arm Triangle was locked in.

Winner Via Submission (Arm Triange) Dan Severn in 2:22 (Great).

Fight 2.

'Freek' Hamaker (Sambo) (5-3) vs 'Dangerous' Dave Beneteau (Wrestling) (2-1)

A first Takedown attempt from Porn Theatre owner Freek Hamaker saw Beneteau use his quickness to his advantage he looks comfortable out these unlike his opponant but Freek once again uses his aggression to be the attacker in the fight and he soon takes Beneteau down and not long after he does he locks in a good clean Arm Triangle.

Winner Via Submission (Arm Triangle) Frank Hamaker in 5:19 (Good).

Fight 3,

Gerard Gordeau (Karate) (3-3) vs 'The King of The Streets' Marco Ruas (Ruas Vale Tudo) (3-0-1)

A single leg sees Ruas take Gordeau down and he gets his back and attempts the Rear Naked Choke but Gordeau gets an arm up and in the way preventing Ruas from getting it locked in, so Ruas instead throws some big right and soon the ref just has to step in.

Winner Via TKO (Strikes) Marco Ruas in 5:14 (Decent).

Fight 4,

Bas Rutten (Hybrid Fighting) (8-1) vs Renzo Gracie (Gracie Jiu Jitsu) (4-0)

Now the big one the random drawing drew these two together and everyone in the arena is expecting a big one. Rutten takes down Renzo Gracie and a battle is on but Rutten decides to come back to his feet before a little more than 5 minutes later they are down again and once again it is Rutten that takes down Renzo but Renzo shows what he can do from the bottom (just like Royce used to) he has Ruttens arm .. But hwe pulls away and tries to go back to his feet failing and Bas Rutten is caught by the Triangle.

Winner Via Submission (Triangle with Armbar) Renzo Gracie in 12:58 (Poor).

Fight 5,

'Freek' Hamaker (Sambo) (6-3) vs 'The Beast' Dan Severn (Wrestling) (6-2)

Within the first minute Dan Severn has his opponant down, he keeps on attempting the Rear Naked Choke after Hamaker showed him his back but he soon gives up and throws elbows and jabs forcing the ref to step in.

Winner Via TKO (Strikes) Dan Severn in 4:27 (Good).

Fight 6,

Renzo Gracie (Gracie Jiu Jitsu) (5-0) vs 'The King of The Streets' Marco Ruas (Ruas Vale Tudo) (4-0-1)

Ruas just keeps on blocking Gracies takedowns letting Renzo go on the offence. Renzo Gracies tactics with Marco Ruas was to hit him with a Strike or two allowing him to cover up and then going for a Takedown but Ruas has been ready for all Renzos tactics so far. Eventually Renzo tires and Ruas has him in a clinch and forces him back into the cage, but it doesn't look like Marco Ruas has any energy left either. Eventually the ref brings them back into the center and we move into the second half of the fight. The rest of the fight sees two tired fighters half heartedly attempt takedowns.

We get our first ever Judges decisions ...

Winner Via Judges Decision Marco Ruas (Poor).

Fight 7,

'The King of The Streets' Marco Ruas (Ruas Vale Tudo) (5-0-1) vs 'The Beast' Dan Severn (Wrestling) (7-2)

Who will be the Ultimate Ultimate?? Dan Severn for the first time we've seen him goes on the defensive allowing Ruas to take control, it seems like Severn may be confident in his ability to hold on while Ruas tires himself out completely he cant have much in the tank. Soon enough The Beasts tactic proves it could be the right one and he takes Ruas down but it's Ruas who almost has a Submission locked in looking for a Triangle Choke from the bottom before Severn attempts an Arm Triangle but it is fought off. Another Sub attempt from Severn sees some big punches from Ruas and the Brazilian gains side control he doesn't look like he has enough energy to make it pay.

Winner Via Submission (Kimura) Marco Ruas in 19:19 (Decent).

The 1995 Ultimate Ultimate is "The King of the Streets" Marco Ruas!
