Forum problems?

Recommended Posts

In the top left corner of the forum there is a "User CP" link... click that, find "User Options" in the sidebar menu and scroll down to display options. Should be an option in there to see all pictures and stuff. Not sure why it's not set to work for you automatically but that should fix things for you. :)

Maybe it's because I have adblock and adblock plus, but I don't get that error thankfully.

That's nice, but I don't want to download this just for one internet page that has this annoying pop-up.

The world of tanks ad was annoying as hell, but this one tops everything. The only way to close the ad is to click on "ok" and then a download starts for a setup.exe from a page that is obviously a scam.

It's not an ad Arlie, it's a (fake but convincing) screen indicating that Java needs updating that automatically tries to download an EXE file on to your machine. It's full screen, and seems to work by automatically redirecting the user's browser off GDS and onto the site in question.

The malice advert is located at this url: http://69.162.111.227/uk/index.php. It just took me thirty minutes to load this thread so that I could paste the URL here.

On a side note, AdChoices is universally known within most web developmental circles to be a terrible choice for ad placement, as they have close to zero morales and don't push for many (if any) checks on who places adverts. It's why their adverts can FORCE re-directs and non-closable pop ups. I'd never recommend them to a customer, unless they don't mind their visitors getting unwanted malware and viruses (like this).

I'm also having problems with a particular ad for a One-Click Survey (don't have the url yet). When that ad comes up, everything below the ad ceases to be viewable, so if it pops up on the top bar, there's no forum and if it pops up in the bottom spot, the reply button and page change buttons go away.
