BRIAN JACK'S WRESTLER PROFILE - TWISTED SANTA

JANUARY 18 2012

Several people have contacted me through this blog to ask my (expert) opinion on wrestlers across the world. The first wrestler in this series of profiles is an independent hardcore wrestler called Twisted Santa...let the games begin.

http://i754.photobucket.com/albums/xx181/jhdTEW/AWF%20Diary/Cards/TwistedSanta.jpg

TWISTED SANTA

BILLED FROM: THE SOUTH POLE

FINISHER: CHRISTMAS BASH (BRAINBUSTER)

SIZE: MIDDLEWEIGHT

STYLE: BRAWLER

DEBUTED: 2005

In the interests of honest, I'll happily admit I had never seen or heard of Twisted Santa before tonight. First thoughts - he's a wrestling Santa, this is not 1994. I had a quick look around the 'net for some videos and I must admit although it's a little goofy, this guy does play his role well. Basically, he's a sort of manic, evil masked Santa whose 'job' is to hand out beatings to all the bad people while the good Santa gives out presents to the good. Or something to that effect. In other words, his sack contains an array of weapons that he uses to beat his opponents senseless. It's fun, but 364 days of the year it's a little out of place. That said, seeing a man in red trousers beating Crazy Jack senseless with an enormous candy cane is a memory I'll cherish for a long time. Seriously, go find it.

In terms of mass appeal, Twisted Santa isn't ever likely to make it big. He has good charisma, is extremely consistent and is remarkably menacing for a middleweight dressed as a fairy tale. But he hasn't really got the all-round game to wrestle for any of the big four, especially under his current gimmick. I can see him wrestling in some nonsense fed like POW, or being repackaged in PWSUX, just don't expect to see him on Shockwave any time soon.

NEXT TIME...PROPHECY

Back home for the summer, got some more free time on my hands, decided to fire up TEW for the first time in months. Since I fired it up, thought to myself, "Hey, I should head back to the boards and see what's going on."

Then I see this.

You know how much I enjoy your work, jhd! Keep it up...I'll be hanging around here more often.

Just wondering, are PPVs open to predictions?

Yep. There's still one Shockwave left though, so I'll post a full prediction card after that. :)

Not sure what the prize will be, although I'm sure I'll think of something. ;):D

How about a man who wants to be part of AWF, Shaun Reed?

How about a man who wants to be part of AWF, Shaun Reed?

Still going with the Dr. Texas

Both good ideas, I'll add Reed to the list. Don't worry Midnightnick - I was intending on doing the three existing suggestions in order (i.e. Texas will come after Prophecy). I'm still intending on PMing you too by the way, just been a bit busy.:D

PWI NIGHT OF SURVIVAL RESULTS. 24/1 SHOCKWAVE PREVIEW.

JANUARY 19 2012

So, I've been asked by a number of readers to recap PWI's latest PPV, Night of Survival, that was held in Seattle last weekend. Now most of you will know why I have so far avoided Pro Wrestling Integrity, but for the sake of my fans I am willing to post the show results. Let me be clear - I did not, nor will I ever watch anything that man writes, produces or stars in. The grades are from a good buddy of mine, and he's a pretty good judge of these things.

TERRY THUNDER ON CANN'S LATE NIGHT CHAT SHOW

JANUARY 20 2012

As we have been reporting all week, last night Terry Thunder was the main guest on CANN's hit chat show
Late, Late Night with Ricky Paar
. CANN have not yet released an online video of the interview, but here are the more interesting parts of the interview...

http://i754.photobucket.com/albums/xx181/jhdTEW/AWF%20Diary/Cards/TerryThunder.jpg

ON HIS RUN IN THE WWWE

"Man, that was the best times as a wrestler, you know? We were absolutely riding high for a while there, we couldn't do no wrong. That's where the whole 'Terry Thunder' phenomenon kicked off, you know brother. But they gave me that ball and I just ran with it, and ran with it, and that really put the business back on the map. For years there had been dudes like Jackie Boulder and Robert Lee Stevens but they weren't offering what the fans were wanting. That's where Terry Thunder came in."

ON HIS REAL LIFE FEUD WITH GUY LOTHARIO

"No comment. The man's a complete *****. No comment."

ON THE AWESOME WRESTLING FEDERATION

"I'd been watching from the sidelines, of course. Thunderhips is a lot of fun, man, but wrestling is where I started. I think the AWF is the real continuation of what we were doing in the WWWE without some of the problems that brought that thing to a close, if you know what I mean. I think the wrestling industry is in a great place right now and the AWF, that's the place to be brother. That's the place that Terry Thunder is going to push to a whole other level, a whole other place, mack. Thunder's been given the AWF ball and he's going to run with it."

ON HIS EX-WIFE'S RECENT CLAIMS THAT THUNDER HAD AN AFFAIR WITH TURNER PAIGE'S WIFE ELEANOR

"That is totally not true, Jack. In fact, anything that my ex-wife says is complete nonsense. You know, one day she tried to hit on my man Chaperone, and when he turned her down she tried it on with the driver. That woman is insane."
[brian Jack - having been the focus of Mrs Thunder's unwanted, ah, attentions, I can confirm that she is most certainly not all there.]

ON HIS DAUGHTER'S FILM CAREER

"Jess is doing exactly what she wants, and that is to become the most famous actress ever. She's got great talents, great looks. Takes after me, of course, not her mother, fortunately. Of course I'd like to see her follow in her father's footsteps and revolutionise the wrestling industry but that's up to her. She made a great appearance on Thunderhips the other week. Did you see it? Fantastic."

ON HIS PLANS FOR THE INDUSTRY

"I've got huge plans you know, Jack.
[Why does he keep calling the poor man Jack!? His name is Ricky!]
I can't say much more than that, brother, but Terry Thunder turned the industry 360 degrees in the 70s and 80s and 90s and he's getting ready to do it again in 2010s. There's massive plans that will revolutionise the industry and all those dudes in the locker room are going to be the biggest names this business has had when things pay off Thunder style."

ON THE AWF'S UPCOMING PAY-PER-VIEW

"It's going to be the biggest night in the company's history, you know Jack. Sunday 28 January is going to be the greatest extravaganza in wrestling for years. We've got some great guys in the locker room, some fresh blood coming in and big plans going forward. Can't wait."

Okay...so we've learnt from his interview that as expected Thunder still has his ego, still thinks he single-handedly runs the industry, hates Guy Lothario and has 'huge plans' for the AWF. Really insightful there Thunder. Thunder is reportedly booked on a few more talk shows in the coming months and, as ever, when he is we'll be there to recap his least boring bits.

ERIC LOTHARIO'S LOW-DOWN OF THE AWF MAIN EVENT SCENE

JANUARY 21 2012

So, with an AWF Pay-Per-View on the horizon I got to thinkin, this new Thunder Era, who the hell should be champ given that ole Terry wants talkers who can wrestle or wrestlers who can talk, or whatever it was?

Sooooooo, here it is, the Lothario Low-Down on the Main Event scene in Thunder's AWF

*************************

http://i754.photobucket.com/albums/xx181/jhdTEW/AWF%20Diary/Cards/Towerblock.jpg

TOWERBLOCK

So, I'll be honest with you all, I genuinely like this guy! His feud with Drake Richards when he won the title for the first time at the start of 2008, I figured he'd hold it for at least a year. He was in the shape of his life, but he lost the title just five months later to, surprise surprise, Chaperone.

Poor Towerblock, guy lost his fire after that in my opinion. He put on a solid 20kg and his next run with the title two years later was just awful.

But hey, its not all bad, I reckon all that internet chatter, the 'Towerblock? Well son, if that guy doesn't go on a diet he's gonna get dragged back to the ocean by Greenpeace!' radio comment by former WWWE great Brett Massey and the joke hamper full of lard delivered to his hotel room with a card signed 'Love an kisses, The Boys' made the guy sort his shiz out.

Right now the guy is in great shape, an you know what, in the Thunder era, Towerblock could actually make it... if he stays off the donuts.

http://i754.photobucket.com/albums/xx181/jhdTEW/AWF%20Diary/Cards/TimothyHawk.jpg

TIMOTHY HAWK

OK, so I've made my feelings clear on what I reckon to Hawk's in-ring abilities, but lets go into the guy a bit.

So, he's just hooked up with my pal Chase's sister, nothing wrong with making connections I s'pose. And yeah, the guy has charm, charisma, women love him, men want to be him, yada yada yada. And he knows the game. But if you want someone who can wrestle, Tim aint it.

But compared to most of the main event he's a spring chicken, he could get better. And he
is
popular.

The guy has held the title once. For one month. So far he's been trusted as a transitional champ so that the title could be dropped to, oh, would you believe it, the current champ Chaperone!

http://i754.photobucket.com/albums/xx181/jhdTEW/AWF%20Diary/Cards/Jean-ClaudeGiroux.jpg

JEAN-CLAUDE GIROUX

The other 'young buck' in the main event scene, the guy is only 30. But rumour had it Trillion was gonna base the promotion around him and that was why he signed on the dotted line.

You ask me, the guy got conned. Yeah, he held the title for a year at the start, but then he had to wait three whole years before he got a taste of the World title again, hell, he even got dropped to the US title division for a while!

And he just keeps gettin better! But his last title run only ran five months. And he lost it to another of those boys now in the favour of ya main man Terry Thunder, Seb Curtis...

http://i754.photobucket.com/albums/xx181/jhdTEW/AWF%20Diary/Cards/SebastianCurtis.jpg

SEBASTIAN CURTIS

Let me tell you something about Seb Curtis, that guy wants to be like my Pa so much it must hurt man! Its like Seb modeled himself on him... OK, apart from the finisher... and the 'vitamins' policy... oh, and the fact that Seb is a total douche!

Ever since that 'false' steroid rumour fight he's been so far up Thunder's ass he's been chewing Terry's food for him. And you know what that means...

He just won the TV main event, I dont see VIP taking him out at the PPV, and on we'll go.

Personal feelings aside, yeah, the guy belongs up there in the Thunder Era. Personal feeling laid out on the table, the guy was a dick to my Pa, he was a dick to me in Hollywood and he was a dick to me in AWF, nuff said!

http://i754.photobucket.com/albums/xx181/jhdTEW/AWF%20Diary/Cards/DrakeRichards.jpg

DRAKE RICHARDS

Mr #1 Contender himself. Richards has won the World Title more times than anyone else in AWF history, and even held the Tag Titles with, of all people, Chaperone a couple of years ago. And here's a fact for ya folks, I had the best match of my short lived AWF career against the guy!

Drake is by far the most talented wrestler on the AWF roster and I reckon at 37 he's the best he's ever looked, the prime of his career even.

In the Thunder Era, Drake could be the shining light. Well, he could if it wasn't one of Thunder's boys already holding the strap!

http://i754.photobucket.com/albums/xx181/jhdTEW/AWF%20Diary/Cards/Chaperone.jpg

CHAPERONE

The current World Champion, and long term friend of Terry Thunder.

Now, don't get me wrong, Chaperone
is
good at what he does, and he's insanely popular. But there are a few problems with the mighty Chaperone.

Firstly, the guy is the biggest asshole I've ever met, be it in wrestling, Hollywood or just on the street. Its all about him,
his
career,
his
money,
his
promotion. As far as 'Big C' is concerned AWF would be nothing without him. I mean, come on, he screwed up taking my new finisher and got me fired cos it made
him
look like a chump!

And secondly, Chaperone is a one trick pony. You put him in there with a guy who can brawl, no problems. You put him in there with a tech head or a flyer, he's completely lost man!

End of the day, at his age Chaperone should be putting younger, more talented guys over and thinkin about his pension. But instead, I see Terry's pal holding the strap for a while to come yet. Not that great for the future of AWF. But then, Thunder & Chaperone don't care about that, they just want their last few days in the sun.

*************************

So there you have it folks, your AWF Main Event. Most of them may belong there, but remember, that don't mean they're good for business
;)

AWF SHOCKWAVE

http://i754.photobucket.com/albums/xx181/jhdTEW/AWF%20Diary/AWF_Banner.jpg

LIVE FROM THE GORSKI BALLROOM, LOS ANGELES CA (5000)

JANUARY 24 2012

LIVE REVIEW & RECAP BY BRIAN JACK

http://i754.photobucket.com/albums/xx181/jhdTEW/AWF%20Diary/Cards/Chaperone.jpghttp://i754.photobucket.com/albums/xx181/jhdTEW/AWF%20Diary/Cards/DrakeRichards.jpghttp://i754.photobucket.com/albums/xx181/jhdTEW/AWF%20Diary/Cards/TerryThunder.jpg

CHAPERONE TRIES TO GET OUT OF THE TITLE MATCH, BUT THUNDER EXERTS HIS AUTHORITY

This week’s episode of AWF Shockwave begins with…you guessed it…Chaperone. With a microphone in hand, dressed in a casual t-shirt and jeans combo, Chaperone says that he doesn’t recognise the authority of Terry Thunder (ha, considering these two are best buddies I’d be amazed if Chap didn’t get him the job!). Chaperone says that as far as he is concerned Terry Thunder has no right to book matches, and no right to order him around. For that reason, he is reluctantly withdrawing his participation in the main event of
New Year, No Limits!
Drake Richards comes out and tells Chaperone that they used to be friends, that they had their differences, but that he never knew that Chap was a coward (I did!). Chaperone’s face goes into a wonderful kaleidoscope of colours, before he gets ready to flatten Drake Richards…but wait…the man himself, the ‘AWF Representative’ Terry Thunder comes out! Thunder waves a piece of paper around, and claims that it is his contract, signed by Ezekiel Trillion, which gives him complete control over match-making, hiring and firing, for at least as long as Trillion is away on business (Hong Kong, remember). That power, Thunder says, extends to suspending wrestlers without pay, and explains that Chaperone has two choices – wrestle in the main event of this Sunday’s PPV, or face a 60 day suspension. The crowd erupt at Thunder’s display of authority, Drake Richards looks smug again, while Chaperone looks a little sick. The big man looks on in dismay and says just one word. Fine. Great start to the show - extremely entertaining and all good in terms of PPV building.

GOLD INC. vs ENEMIES OF THE STATE

*Gold Inc. may not have the experience of the Enemies of the State, but they certainly have the name value…

*…but that didn’t stop the Enemies from controlling much of the early going.

*The slick interchanges between Stone and Binx helped to isolate De Francesco, who seemed to take most of the punishment for his team.

*When traditional tactics (i.e. being the better team) looked likely to fail, Gold Inc turned to their tried and tested method of cheating to get the victory.

*With Revolver Binx fighting Theo Barkley, Marco De Francesco’s attempt to enter the ring distracted the referee and Omri Stone long enough for Owen Money to smash a roll of coins into the back of Binx's head…

*…and a Primetime Press
[Military Press Slam]
from Theo Barkley made sure this one was in the bag.

GOLD INC. win via pinfall (7:35)

That was not the most exciting tag match I’ve ever seen, but nor was it the worst. I’m a little surprised Gold Inc. didn’t get a clean victory as it has seemed as if a) they are getting a pretty decent push alongside Chaperone, and b) the Enemies seem to be too over for the tag team titles and have ended up almost in no-man’s land. Still, the manner of the defeat suggest that perhaps Thunder and co. have some plans for Stone and Binx, or at least don’t want to give them the same treatment as the rest of the division (i.e. terrible). Okay opener but I’m not particularly fired up following this match.

SILVA DOLLA vs TRAVIS STINE

*Silva Dolla has been one of the AWF’s finest in-ring performers over recent weeks…

*…and Travis Stine managed a solid victory over veteran Buddy Holland on last week’s show.

*This match was surprisingly strong considering its two participants are not the most technically minded.

*Travis Stine began by taunting his opponent, but Silva Dolla wasn’t easily distracted.

*A solid brawl between the two swayed one way and then another, but in reality Silva Dolla seemed to be the most likely of the two to get a victory.

*That assumption was proved correct in the ninth minute when Stine missed a clothesline only to walk straight into a Dolla Sign
(Punch Combo with theatrics)
.

SILVA DOLLA wins via pinfall (8:13)

I may have to reassess my views on Silva Dolla. Last week he was in an exceptional match with Derrick Rollins and this week he drags Travis Stine to a contest almost as good. All in all, another excellent performance from Dolla who has really come in to his own over the last few weeks. Stine continues to play the arrogant heel, which I’m fairly sure is his real personality, without ever showing real flair in the ring. His character and promo skills will only get him so far if he doesn’t polish his attitude or his wrestling skills. This one really should have been the opener, but it was great all the same.

TERRY THUNDER BOOKS ATONGA AGAINST A MYSTERY OPPONENT FOR THE PPV

We’re off backstage for the first time this evening and it is back to Terry Thunder’s ‘intern’ filled office once again. This time the superstar interrupting the bustle of young women is “Samoan Wrestling Machine” Atonga who completely dwarves everyone but Thunder. As the interns file out Thunder thanks Atonga for coming to see him, before explaining that he has heard that Atonga was looking for a PPV match. Thunder said that he was impressed by Atonga’s performance in last week’s main event (he lost, remember!?) so he’s going to face a mystery opponent at
New Year, No Limits
. Atonga demands to know who his opponent is, but Thunder just ignores him. My guess is one of the new signings, preferably Richie Santana Jr, but knowing Terry Thunder it’ll probably be Thunder himself! Good segment, especially as we rarely see Atonga outside of the ring. Will be interesting to see who he actually ends up facing.

w/Nikita THE CHRISTENSENS & KISS vs MILITARY DISCIPLINE & GARRETT SOUTH

*This six man tag team match progressed two feuds at the same time…

*…the US title feud between Garrett South and KISS…

*…and the Tag Team title feud that seems to be running between The Christensens and Military Discipline.

*That said, most of the match saw South and KISS kept apart, usually because South tagged out whenever KISS entered the ring.

*That meant South controlled during much of his time in the ring, and he came close to winning on a number of occasions before the pin was broken up by KISS.

*In the end, South left his partners to fend for themselves and walked off, giving KISS the opportunity to hit the Hotter Than Hell
[Overhead Belly-To-Belly Suplex]
on Corporal Punishment that sealed the win.

THE CHRISTENSENS & KISS win via pinfall (6:34)

I get the idea behind this match, and it achieved its goals without ever flirting with real quality. Then again, given the card positions of these six men it’s hardly surprising that the crowd didn’t ever really lift off. I thought South did well again, and his leaving at the end of the match worked well for both him and KISS (not so much for Corporal Punishment). I wasn’t enormously impressed with Military Discipline, to be honest. At least The Christensens have some high-flying skills to set them apart. And Nikita. Discipline just seem to be there to take falls. Without a tag title match confirmed for PPV I suspect this will be it, although I’m thinking popcorn break rather than match of the night contender.

KITTY REARDON INTERVIEWS ADRIENNE

Once again the action heads backstage to the interview area and the delightful Ms Kitty Reardon. She is interviewing Adrienne, alone for a change, about her thoughts on the feud between Wilson Hancock and Jean-Claude Giroux. As one might expect, Adrienne is siding with her ‘saviour’ Wilson Hancock while complaining about Giroux’s chauvinistic ways. The interview doesn’t last long, but it has enough substance to remind fans how important this match is to the three people involved. Plus, it’s nice to see Adrienne getting a shot at an interview of her own, without the AWF feeling the need to rely on either Hancock or Giroux as a safety net.

CORE vs HERCULEZ

*Two of the AWF’s biggest wrestlers combined in a very physical contest.

*Despite their enormous strength, both Core and Herculez struggled with any form of grappling with their opponent.

*This meant much of the bout was a punching match, and as a result swung back and forth with no clear winner in sight.

*At the six minute mark, Herculez had stunned Core with three successive right hooks, and went for a powerslam.

*He picked the masked monster up, and looking to hit a fallaway slam set him across his chest…

*…but the weight of Core was rocking even the “World’s Strongest Man”…

*…after all, barbells don’t fight back!

*As Core struggled against the impending throw, Herculez stumbled backwards, hitting the ropes at the same time Core pitched forward…

*…causing both men to fall over the top rope to the outside!

*Both men hit the floor hard, and as they struggled to their feet Referee James Jewell had no choice but to count them out.

CORE drew with HERCULEZ following a double count out (6:54)

http://i754.photobucket.com/albums/xx181/jhdTEW/AWF%20Diary/Cards/Towerblock.jpg

Following the match Towerblock appeared at the top of the ramp, microphone in hand. He applauded Herculez’ courage in challenging him to a match, and congratulated him on his attempted slam of Core. But, Towerblock warns, fighting Core is one thing, and fighting a former World champion, and the sport’s biggest, baddest and meanest man Towerblock is a whole other beast.

Good match, if a little odd in its ending. I get that they want to keep Core and Herculez strong (pardon the pun), but why they had to have a double count out and not DQ I’m not sure. Great promo from Towerblock which just goes to show how underrated his entertainment skills are. A good mic worker he might be, but I won’t be expecting a classic in-ring display from him or Herculez at the PPV!

JEAN-CLAUDE GIROUX vs BUDDY HOLLAND

*Despite the enormous difference in push levels, both Jean-Claude Giroux and Buddy Holland are very strong wrestlers.

*Jean-Claude Giroux is, of course, the better all-rounder as well as being a lot younger and that gave him an immediate advantage over the veteran.

*Holland fought well, especially given his recent one-sided defeats…

*…but Giroux was just too strong and a Playboy Press
[Pop-Up followed by a European Uppercut]
just after the six minute mark finished this bout off.

JEAN-CLAUDE GIROUX wins via pinfall (6:11)

Well that made a change. Buddy Holland is a jobber, plain and simple, but this match proved exactly why he is still used in the AWF today. As strong a match as we’ve seen all night and a more than acceptable semi-main (even if I like a little more competition in my matches), and both are polar opposites in card position. In giving Giroux one final boost before his PPV match with Wilson Hancock this match certainly did the trick, while giving Buddy Holland a bit of positive exposure for a change. Personally, I would have preferred the use of a younger, up-and-coming star but given the quality of the match I can’t complain too much.

TIMOTHY HAWK vs SEBASTIAN CURTIS

*Once again the Shockwave main event was a contest fought by two of the company’s biggest stars in a match that could easily headline a PPV (and has).

*Heading into his match with Theo Barkley, Hawk was looking for a resounding win but Sebastian Curtis has always proved to be one of his toughest opponents.

*Curtis was also looking for a pre-PPV win, as he looked towards his match with Vincent I Parker.

*With both men keeping half an eye on this Sunday’s event the match began slowly, but soon enough it picked up the pace as finishers were dodged and near-pinfalls recorded.

*Seb Curtis hit an immaculate Sebsplex
[Fisherman's Suplex]
after he reversed Hawk’s attempted standing suplex, but Hawk managed to kick out after two.

*Curtis too kicked out of a finisher as the first Justice Slam
[Full Nelson Slam]
around the ten minute mark.

*Although he managed to survive the pin attempt, the move definitely took its toll on Curtis, and after a belly-to-belly suplex was reversed by Hawk, Curtis was open for the final attack…

*…which Hawk gladly took advantage of, hitting his second Justice Slam
[Full Nelson Slam]
for the victory.

TIMOTHY HAWK wins via pinfall (12:17)

Fantastic match between two strong competitors. Hawk is often mocked for his limited move set, but when Sebastian Curtis is in the ring you are pretty much guaranteed a classic. While clearly this result gives Hawk the advantage going into his PPV match with Barkley (which realistically he has always had), the effect on Sebastian Curtis will be interesting. Has he lost in order to give VIP a win at PPV, or will he simply bounce back with a victory. Excellent main event, and one match I’m sure we’ll see more than once this year.
GRADE: B

The show ends, as expected, with a hype video for Sunday night’s PPV AWF
New Year, No Limits
. The video hypes the matches involving Wilson Hancock, Jean-Claude Giroux, Timothy Hawk, Theo Barkley, Sebastian Curtis, VIP, Chaperone and Drake Richards and does a pretty good job of it too. Not too much to say – partly because it was so short and partly because we’ll be linking to the hype video later on today – but it did the job. See you all on Sunday!

BRIAN JACK'S OVERALL THOUGHTS

Another very good show, and a fantastic way to lead in to the PPV. The matches on the card were of a much higher quality throughout than last week (which was very hit and miss), which definitely helped the show heading into the main event. Lots of feud building, which was to be expected, and some strong promo work meant that this was a show with very few low points outside of the six man tag and, if I'm being harsh (which I always am) the opener. I didn't think I'd say this four weeks ago, but I'm looking forward to
New Year, No Limits
. Well, a little bit at least.
;)
See you Sunday!

The final segment of last night's show was a hype video for this Sunday's PPV,
New Year, No Limits
. As promised during the live review, the video has now been released online and can be seen below...

NEW YEAR, NO LIMITS PPV PROMO

[The scene starts with a closeup of a hand spinning a globe. The spinning becomes faster and faster as the AWF's usual voice over artist begins to speak...]

For 335 days of the year the Earth spins...

...for 335 days of the year, the Earth is little but a blue marble in the darkness of space...

[suddenly the hand stops the globe from spinning...]

...but for 1 day in January the World stops turning...

...for one day among 336 the focus of a planet turns towards the squared circle...

[The camera begins to pan upwards, slowly revealing the man spinning the globe...]

...because for one day in January...

[...to be none other...]

...the first month of the New Year...

[...than AWF World Champion Chaperone!]

...one man holds the World in his hands...

[As the camera pans back Chaperone rips the globe from its axis...]

...and that man decrees that for one night...

[...and begins to push the poles together...]

...there shall be No Limits!

[...completely crushing the Earth in his hands!]

AWF New Year, No Limits, watch on U-Demand 28 January 2012!

As I mentioned during the live recap, the video also hyped the main matches of the event. We'll be bringing you the full card for
New Year, No Limits
as soon as my sources within the AWF can confirm the running order of the show.

Until then,

NEW YEAR, NO LIMITS CARD REVEALED. ERIC LOTHARIO IN FIRST LWA SHOW.

JANUARY 26 2012

As promised my inside source within the AWF has provided me with the scheduled running order for this Sunday's Awesome Wrestling Federation PPV
New Year, No Limits
. The running order can be found below (heels first)...

AWF NEW YEAR, NO LIMITS

Atonga vs ????

Military Discipline vs Enemies of the State

AWF United States Title Match/Falls Count Anywhere:
Garrett South © vs KISS

Marco De Francesco vs Silva Dolla

Jean-Claude Giroux vs Wilson Hancock

Towerblock vs Herculez

Sebastian Curtis vs Vincent I Parker

Theo Barkley vs Timothy Hawk

AWF World Title Match:
Chaperone © vs Drake Richards

Interestingly there is no AWF Tag Team title match on the schedule. My contact tells me that the belt is currently set to be defended in the pre-show. Please feel free to let me know who you think might win each match in the comments section.

I'd also like to bring to people's attention that last night my friend and fellow blogger Eric Lothario debuted in Puerto Rico's Legacy Wrestling Alliance. More information about Eric's latest project, which sees him working alongside Chase Paige - son of the former WWWE owner Turner Paige - can be found in the link below.

Don't forget to tune in this Sunday for the first AWF PPV of the Terry Thunder era!

Just a quick question - I will probably have a prediction prize for the person(s) with the most correct answers but I'm not sure on the prize itself. Would people like a full body render of one of the jhdVerse characters? Any other suggestions? Feel free to post them alongside any predictions.

The show itself might be up on Sunday, but it definitely won't be up before then as I haven't even started writing it yet! :p

ERIC EXPLAINS.... HIS AWF PREDICTIONS

JANUARY 27 2012

My man Bri has released the card for New Year, No Limits. And he's asked who people reckon will win. So here it is, the predictions of a man in the know

PRE-SHOW

AWF TAG TEAM TITLES MATCH

The Christensens
vs Graves & Hollywood

Pure guesswork on my part here for the pre-show cos its just a rumour there will even be a match. Something about Graves & Hollywood, I reckon they'd make a decent team it the long run, but obviously the champs ain't gonna drop the straps on a pre-show

MAIN SHOW

Garrett South © vs
KISS

Yes, seriously. Thunder may be all talk about wrestling, but KISS has shades of Prophecy in there, I could see Thunder wanting to groom him for the big leagues

Jean-Claude Giroux
vs Wilson Hancock

Kinda torn on this one. Hancock's put a good effort into the feud, but Giroux deserves the push.

http://i754.photobucket.com/albums/xx181/jhdTEW/AWF%20Diary/Cards/Towerblock.jpghttp://i754.photobucket.com/albums/xx181/jhdTEW/AWF%20Diary/Cards/VS.jpghttp://i754.photobucket.com/albums/xx181/jhdTEW/AWF%20Diary/Cards/Herculez.jpg

Towerblock

Towerblock. All the way. The guy is gold right now!

Sebastian Curtis
vs Vincent I Parker

Maybe one day Vinnie, but not yet, cos Thunder's little meat-puppet ain't gonna lose

http://i754.photobucket.com/albums/xx181/jhdTEW/AWF%20Diary/Cards/TheoBarkley.jpghttp://i754.photobucket.com/albums/xx181/jhdTEW/AWF%20Diary/Cards/VS.jpghttp://i754.photobucket.com/albums/xx181/jhdTEW/AWF%20Diary/Cards/TimothyHawk.jpg

Theo Barkley vs
Timothy Hawk

I may have made my feelings clear on Timbo, but I don't think even Thunder would put someone over Hawk on PPV, why destroy what he's got going right now?

AWF World Title Match

Chaperone ©
vs Drake Richards

I want Drake to win, but we surely all know the score by now, right? You're one of Thunder's boys, you get a free ride, end of.

Atonga vs ????

Quick check on possible signing (assuming you didn´t break any promotion pacts) told me that there´s no one popular enough to warrant going over Atonga.

Military Discipline vs Enemies of the State

I´m not big fan of Enemies because their backstage attitude but I still see them going over Discipline who are basically jobber team.

AWF United States Title Match/Falls Count Anywhere: Garrett South © vs KISS

KISS would pretty much be the first guy out if I take control thanks to he´s backstage attitude and medicore skills (though he is entertaining) so no surprise that I have South retain. That said I could see KISS taking the title considering that there is lot more heels than faces in AWF´s starting roster.

Marco De Francesco vs Silva Dolla

Silva Dolla looks like a guy that I would push to main event scene. So is De Francesco but there´s more to choose from on heel side thus Dolla gets the win.

Jean-Claude Giroux vs Wilson Hancock

The overness difference from the start is just too big for me to go other way so I say that Giroux gets a cheap win via cheating.

Towerblock vs Herculez

Really tough one here and I´m not really sure what to expect... Actually I go with a draw by double count out.

Sebastian Curtis vs Vincent I Parker

Another tough one but I rate Curtis as being slighly ahead thanks to his win in that triple thread match little while ago so I give this one to VIP.

Theo Barkley vs Timothy Hawk

Don´t see Barkley going over Hawk no-matter what so Hawk picks up the victory.

AWF World Title Match: Chaperone © vs Drake Richards

The diary is just starting so I would give this one to champ as I feel that it´s too early for a title change.

AWF NEW YEAR, NO LIMITS

PreShow:

Christensens vs Slip and Slide

I figure you aren't going to have the champions lose on the pre-show, and slip and slide are sensible choices to lose.

Funnily enough In my POW game I noticed that the computer AWF put together Travis Stine and Leroy Winters as "The Mayhem Express" which strikes me as a pretty awesome team. They also seem to have split the Christensens since Bryce Christiansen is the current United States Champion after defeating his brother Jonah for the title.

Atonga vs ????

There are two people I could see winning in the mystery spot: Terry Thunder and Prophecy, but I don't see either of them opening the show here.

Military Discipline vs Enemies of the State

Enemies of the State are your best tag team.

AWF United States Title Match/Falls Count Anywhere: Garrett South © vs KISS

I don't particularly like KISS.

Marco De Francesco vs Silva Dolla

Silva Dolla is a borderline main eventer, and I see him winning this.

Jean-Claude Giroux vs Wilson Hancock

Giroux was actually released by the AWF in my POW game, but that's the AI for you.

Towerblock vs Herculez

Could go either way, but Towerblock is bigger and badder.

Sebastian Curtis vs Vincent I Parker

I could see you booking an upset here, but Sebastian Curtis is really good.

Theo Barkley vs Timothy Hawk

Theo Barkley kind of sucks. When I was looking at his stats I noticed that his in ring skills are roughly on par with the wrestler just above him in the characters list: The Visitor. Think about that.

AWF World Title Match: Chaperone © vs Drake Richards

I know you said lots of people drop the title to Richards early in their AWF games, but I see you going somewhere different with this diary.

Really enjoying this diary and the mod. AWF is a lot of fun especially to play. I just had the thought that it would be cool if one of our artistically inclined community members created logos for AWF events and the TV show. I'd certainly put them to good use.
