The League, Season Six (Game Thread)

Recommended Posts

<p>Well, in the area where Thor and Bao got the Match of the Season, it is to be expected.</p><p>

Looks like Thor underperformed... he has only a C- in the Match Rating...<img alt=":p" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p>

<p>Trust me... only a few people would have guessed that...</p><p> </p><p>

But once we get to Week 10... I will beat Phoenix... while he is at 10-0...</p><p> </p><p>

Oooh... cool.. a cage! Time to savagely beat III... that's Sam's natural habit. Just like Skabb. I'm not afraid to savagely destroy III into a medical DQ... then beat him up some more that he loses by DQ... Just expect more Season 5 Postseason Max Skabb... Stabbing him... MWAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHA!<img alt=":p" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p>

Excluding the Mavericks aggbot twitter page, mainly cause Sam is a Mavericks fan... Why do I have another follower? Weird?<img alt="" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/confused.png.d4a8e6b6eab0c67698b911fb041c0ed1.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p>

Oh, speaking about twitter...</p><p> </p><p>

...and he STILL won the match :D

[Lance Storm]That was a good display of safe chair shots, though. No unprotected head hits.[/Lance Storm]

Of course he won the match. He had two hours to recover from the beatdown.:p :p :p:D :D

Blarg... can't believe Scott Stevens won a match! And worse, I can't believe Nuclear lost a match! Nooooooooooooooooooes!! :p

@Survive_The_Sting! @LeagueToriM I didn't bring this upon myself b****. When you're the best in the world like I am you can show of your accomplishments. #Champ #BestinWorld

@Survive_The_Sting! @LeagueToriM I don't blame Mason Hardt I blame you. I was increasing the brand name of LPW by appearing on tv each week with the world title around my waist. But you wanted to make it personal and tell Hardt some lie saying I lost the championship to @Frankiebeatsthespread.

@Survive_The_Sting! @LeagueToriM Now you have stolen my property and over the course of this season unworthy jobbers such as @GloriousRequiem get a shot a my prestigious LPW World title without me defending it. What kind of bulls*** is that!?!?!?!?

@Survive_The_Sting! @LeagueToriM I owe you a thousand dollars? I'll tell you what, how about you drop by the hotel later and beg while on your knees for it. Why your down there you can to some other things as well. ;-)

@Survive_The_Sting! @LeagueToriM If you won't take that offer I'm sure @III will be willing to pony up a grand for your "services." :-)

@Survive_The_Sting! @III You think you can protect @LeagueToriM from me???? LOL. Looks like the old Pizza Mask humor is still there.

@Survive_The_Sting! @LeagueToriM You trying to sound tough by telling @III I won't be laying my hands on you again. You like it when I lay my hands on you, you've told me that I have some magic fingers and that I have the golden touch.

Predictions</p></div><p></p><p></p><p>

Psycho Sam: <strong>MY</strong> picks are here...</p><p>

<strong>Bao vs. Carlisle</strong>: Both Bao and Carlisle are at a 1-2 record... Bao's popularity is one factor, but with Carlisle winning against Triumph, that's another factor. Close match.</p><p>

<strong>Winner: Bao</strong></p><p>

<strong>The Phoenix vs. Nuclear Templeton</strong>: Even though Nuclear lost in a close match...HOW THE **** DID HE LOSE TO SCOTT ****ING STEVENS!!!. Phoenix wins... </p><p>

<strong>Winner: Phoenix</strong></p><p><strong>

Scott vs. Nolan</strong>: Unfortunately... I have to go with the King of Stink, Scott Stevens... due to his win being more of an upset than Nolan</p><p>

<strong>Winner: Stevens</strong></p><p>

<strong>Thor vs Eidenhoek:</strong> I virtually see no chance of Eidenhoek...winning.</p><p>

<strong>Winner: Thor</strong></p><p>

<strong>Sam vs. III</strong>: Personally... I don't care if I win. I want to send a message to Scott Stevens...</p><p>

<strong>Winner: Sam</strong></p><p>

<strong>Moore vs. Stanton</strong>: Benjamin T. Stanton wins.</p><p>

<strong>Winner: Triumph</strong></p><p>

<strong>Lightning vs. Diamond</strong>: Slight upset... banking this on popularity and on experience</p><p>

<strong>Winner: Diamond</strong></p><p><strong>

MAIN EVENT: Triumph vs. Imoka</strong>: Triumph is looking for revenge... he'll find it tonight.</p><p>

<strong>Winner: Triumph</strong></p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><p>__________________________________________________</p><p> </p><p>

Superstar In Review: III/Pizza Mask 3</p></div><p></p><p></p><p>

Psycho Sam: This week, we take a look at III</p><p>

<em>III: Career Record: 17-18 ,1 Match of The Night</em></p><p><em>

Best Season: Season 5</em></p><p><em>

Worst Season: Season 4</em></p><p><em>

Pros: Can fly decently, Wins with Seriousness</em></p><p><em>

Cons: Unexciting, with only 1 MOTN, not powerful</em></p><p> </p><p>

Psycho Sam: III's debut was in <strong>Season 4</strong>, but as a guy with a good children's gimmick... a wrestler that hands out pizzas. The season had III coming in with a a <strong>5-9</strong> record. </p><p>

<strong>Season 5</strong> was slightly better for Pizza Mask, with the first signs of a gimmick change into III. Entering the tournament with an <strong>9-9</strong> record , he lost to Imoka after Scott Stevens threw a ****ING PIZZA at his face.</p><p>

This season will prove to be the best one he had. Why? He won over Stevens. With a 3-0 record, one of only 2 men to hold the record, I look to break that record.[/center]</p><p>

Season Six, Week Four

Niigata, Japan

June 5, 2012

<object width="400" height="25"><embed src="

THE LEAGUE: SEASON SIX, WEEK FOUR

The Niigata City Athletic Stadium is beyond full, as 20,913 fans have packed the arena in anticipation of tonight's event. There is a brief pyro display before the camera cuts to ringside and...a plexiglass cube alongside the announce desk?

Bob Sinclair: Hello again, everyone, and welcome to week four of The League! I'm Bob Sinclair, joined at the commentary desk by Tori Montgomery and...Frankie, what the hell is that thing?

Frankie Garnett: Well, with this stupid 24/7 rule that Tori threw at me last week, I haven't left the hotel room since arriving last Wednesday morning. In order to keep me safe to do my job, I had this built so I can watch the matches without being ambushed.

Tori Montgomery: Way to ruin the stip, Frankie.

Bob Sinclair: Nonetheless, in actual League action, we have a cage match on tap, six standard matches, and we're opening tonight with our first specialty match of the season. Let's head to the ring to get the night underway!

FIRST BLOOD MATCH: Ly Quang Bao (1-2, 13%) vs. Ian Carlisle (1-2, 5%)

Linkin Park's "What I've Done" blares through the arena as the upset specialist of The League steps into the arena, a look of determination on his face. A moment later, he sprints towards the ring, sliding in under the bottom rope and heading to a corner to appeal to the fans, mentally preparing himself for his next battle.

Amelia Williams: Our opening contest of the night is a First Blood match! Introducing first, from Blackpool, England, weighing 222 pounds...Ian Carlisle!

Bob Sinclair: This will be the first meeting between the two, but Carlisle's coming in at a decided disadvantage.

Tori Montgomery: That hasn't stopped the youngster before, Bob. Carlisle isn't the League's upset specialist for a reason!

Frankie Garnett: Oh, there's a reason, Tori. It's because he can't wrestle!

Psykosonik's "Panik Kontrol" echoes throughout the arena as our next participant emerges, nearly hidden amidst the red spotlights. As the beat continues, he calmly walks down the aisle, leaping onto the apron and somersaulting over the top rope, coming to a halt in the middle of the ring and looking ready to fight as the song fades.

Amelia Williams: His opponent, from Bien Hoa, Vietnam, weighing 177 pounds...Ly Quang Bao!

Bob Sinclair: Bao needs some momentum to get his season back on track; this is the kind of match he needs to win.

Tori Montgomery: Keep in mind as well, guys, that First Blood matches take an awful lot out of the participants, and the abuse they suffer tonight could haunt them for the next few weeks.

Frankie Garnett: So basically, win quick so you don't tank your season. Makes sense, I suppose.

Amelia Williams: Here is your winner, at a time of eighteen minutes and ten seconds...Ian Carlisle!

Tori Montgomery: Just as Bob mentioned earlier, that low dropkick caught Bao on the nose!

Frankie Garnett: Oh, please, kid got lucky.

Bob Sinclair: How is this match lucky, Frankie? It's not like he won the LPW Championship or something!

Frankie Garnett: ...I hate you.

The Phoenix (3-0, 14%) vs. Nuclear Templeton (2-1, 17%)

Billy Idol's "Shock to the System" hits the speakers, bringing the crowd to their feet in ovation as one of the League's more recognizable faces emerges from backstage and across the green-tinted stage. Behind him, shouting final words of wisdom at him as he strides to the ring, is his manager, who seems unfazed by the surroundings. As they reach the bottom of the ramp, Nuclear grabs the Tag Team Title belt off his shoulder and raises his arms in the air, causing twin mushroom clouds to explode on the entrance stage before he slides into the ring, ready to go.

Amelia Williams: This bout is scheduled for one fall! Introducing first, accompanied to the ring by Coach Robert Greene, from Atlantic City, New Jersey, weighing 278 pounds, he is one-half of the reigning Tag Team Turmoil champions...Nuclear Templeton!

Bob Sinclair: Here's a match that a lot of people were looking forward to once the schedule came out last month.

Tori Montgomery: It's certainly not the first time the reigning TTT champs have faced each other, but tonight it feels like it could be a barnburner!

Frankie Garnett: Oh, shut up and go support your loverboy, already.

Tori Montgomery: ....

Within Temptation's "Stand My Ground" hits the arena speakers as the reigning League Champion emerges from the back, through a wall of flame pyro. His face gives no emotions away as he walks to the ring, stopping at the ring steps to lay his title belts on the top step. A moment later, he slams both fists into the second-highest step before looking up the heavens with a cry of "For the Fallen" coming from his lips. With no further ado, he grabs his belts and steps between the ropes, ready to go to war once again. At ringside, Tori drops her headset to the table and walks towards his corner, her mental transition from color commentator to manager complete.

Amelia Williams: His opponent, joined at ringside by Tori Montgomery, from the End of Nowhere, weighing 337 pounds, he is the other half of the reigning Tag Team Turmoil champions and the defending League Champion...this is The Phoenix!

Bob Sinclair: The odds are not in Nuclear's favor tonight. Including the playoffs, Phoenix is 4-2 all-time against Templeton in singles competition.

Frankie Garnett: So in other words, Nuke's due for a win. I like it!

Scott Stevens (1-2, 16%) vs. Tarik Nolan (1-2, 16%)

The lights in the arena go pitch black, as red lasers and spotlights light up the area. The video screen lights up and flashes across the screen, "Nothing survives my sting!" The crowd starts booing as Dave Mustaine's voice echoes throughout the arena, "I am the Scorpion, whoa!" The jeering intensifies as a mash-up of "I Stand Alone" and "Amazing" hits the speakers, drawing out the former Legacy Pro Wrestling champion. Walking down the aisle, he talks trash the entire way while raising a fist at a few of the more vocal bashers. As he finally gets to the ring, he climbs the nearest turnbuckle and stares down the aisleway, an icy glare and the throat slash gesture his only actions as he drops to the mat.

Amelia Williams: This match is scheduled for one fall! Introducing first, from Houston, Texas, weighing 256 pounds...Her Goddess Selket's favorite Arachnid, The King of Sting, The Venomous One and Only...he is "The Scorpion" Scott Stevens!

Frankie Garnett: And also the man who should still be the LPW champion, if not for some interfering nitwit at the announce desk!

Tori Montgomery: Controversy equals ratings, Frankie! I want us to go out on a high note!

Bob Sinclair: She...does have a point there, Frankie.

"Regulate" hits the speakers, immediately drawing the ire of the crowd as a large figure stands in the entryway, backlit by a clear spotlight. Pyro explodes on the stage, causing the light to shut off as the figure finally emerges onto the stage proper. Laughing at the boos hurled in his direction, he takes his time walking to the ring and subsequently entering it for his next match.

Amelia Williams: His opponent, from Shreveport, Louisiana, weighing 292 pounds...Tarik Nolan!

Tori Montgomery: Another tough test for Stevens here; he has yet to defeat Nolan in a singles match.

Frankie Garnett: Oh, come on! Who's making the schedule, some fat guy living in a basement?

Bob Sinclair: Well, actually....

Thor Hammerskald (3-0, 24%) vs. Eidenhoek Gaiaspade (0-3, 9%)

Disturbed's "Indestructible" hits the arena as The League's resident monk emerges from the back, looking surprisingly at ease despite the hard beat of the song. Jumping onto the apron from the floor, he steps between the ropes and calmly walks to the far corner of the ring, waiting for the bell to get the match underway.

Amelia Williams: This bout is scheduled for one fall! Introducing first, from the Island of Tria, weighing 205 pounds...Eidenhoek Gaiaspade!

Tori Montgomery: Another tough test for Gaius, who is 1-3 lifetime against his opponent tonight.

Frankie Garnett: Do you have a life, Tori? How do you get this stuff?

Tori Montgomery: It's called an iPad with a League Database.

Bob Sinclair: Wait, what happened to your netbook?

Tori Montgomery: Stevens last week.

Bob Sinclair: That would explain it.

Anthrax's "Blood" hits the speakers, to a decent ovation he emerges from backstage, looking every bit the part of a Viking warrior as he strides to the ring with a determined look on his face...and scattering some of the fans away from the entrance ramp as he turns to glare at them. Making sure the fans are sufficiently cowed, he climbs the steps and enters the ring, his eyes never leaving the middle of the ring as he takes off his entrance gear.

Amelia Williams: His opponent, from Oslo, Norway, weighing 310 pounds...Thor Hammerskald!

Bob Sinclair: So, Tori, has Thor expressed any interest in Frankie's LPW title?

Frankie Garnett: Hey!

Tori Montgomery: Not as of yet, Bob. Give it time. He probably just wants Frankie to worry first.

Frankie Garnett: ....

CAGE MATCH: Psycho Sam (2-1, 24%) vs. III (3-0, 10%)

A rather non-descript rock theme plays as the League's newest member emerges from the back, striding towards the ring with the look of a cold-blooded psychopath on his face. Behind him, his chosen manager seems to be overwhelmed by the thousands of people in attendance as he tries to shrink into his robe of many rocks and stay on his client's heels as best he can.

Amelia Williams: This is a Steel Cage match, where the only way to win is to escape the cage! Introducing first, being accompanied by The Rock, from the Island of Alcatraz, weighing 296 pounds...Psycho Sam!

Bob Sinclair: This cage may be to Sam's benefit; he has to feel at home given his history.

Tori Montgomery: No kidding, Bob. I think the EMT's need to be ready to get down here in a hurry for this one.

Frankie Garnett: This guy's crazy enough to where I won't even argue with you on that!

"Reaping Stone" by Iced Earth starts to play, the somber melody of the intro a far cry from what we're used from the man now known as III. As soon as Jon Schaffer's guitar kicks up III emerges from the curtains, in a long flowing robe in the pattern of a star chart. He takes his time getting to the ring, where he steps into the cage and between the ropes, then stands on the second turnbuckle as he slides his robe off, revealing his tights, black pleather with a white III on the left leg, and a Celtic armor belt with the words "Cosmic Destiny" written on the front. He takes off the belt as well before handing his entrance gear to a ring crew member and stretches out a bit.

Amelia Williams: His opponent, from The Third Altar of the Third Tier of the Third Pyramid, weighing 199 pounds...III!

Bob Sinclair: It's not been a good night for undefeated wrestlers so far.

Tori Montgomery: Indeed. The two other wrestlers to enter tonight at 3-0 have fallen by the wayside; III has to be thinking about that here before the bell rings.

Could this be the end?

He is getting closer!

He is almost there!

He hits the floor!

Amelia Williams: Here is your winner, at a time of eight minutes and thirty seconds...Psycho Sam!

Bob Sinclair: Sam snuck a handful of rocks into the cage, and used them to take out III with a patently illegal move!

Frankie Garnett: Illegal? In the cage? Does not compute!

Tori Montgomery: Nonetheless, one has to wonder if anyone can truly stop this psychotic wrestler from wreaking havoc over the rest of the League!

Sebastian Moore (0-3, 12%) vs. Benjamin T. Stanton, Jr. (1-2, 23%)

It is to Muse's "Assassin" that he emerges, an arrogant smirk crossing his face as he soaks in the jeers of the crowd. Looking up at the spotlight for a moment, his smirk seems to get even bigger as he walks down the ramp, ignoring the catcalls of the crowd as he ascends the steps, wipes his feet on the apron, and steps through the ropes, looking more at ease than the casual fan may think.

Amelia Williams: This bout is scheduled for one fall! Introducing first, from Manchester, England, weighing 237 pounds...Sebastian Moore!

Bob Sinclair: Moore is now the last League member to be winless this season, and his best chance at a win so far may be tonight, as remote as it may be.

Tori Montgomery: Moore is the heavy underdog in this bout, despite this being the first meeting between the two competitors.

Frankie Garnett: You can't make up for ineptness, Tori. Just ask Phoenix!

Tori Montgomery: Oh, I will when he makes you tap like a baby for that title you're sporting.

Frankie Garnett: I really wish you'd stop saying that....

"Here Comes the Money" hits the speakers, as one of last season's surprises emerges from the back, with a beautiful woman hanging off his left arm. A cocky grin plastered on his face, he arrogantly walks to the ring, turning up his nose at those in the audience that he deems to be beneath one such as himself. Arriving at ringside, his manager gives him a kiss for good luck before he slides in under the bottom rope and stands in the nearest corner, facing the center of the ring.

Amelia Williams: His opponent, accompanied to the ring by Missy Callistra, from Providence, Rhode Island, weighing 224 pounds...Benjamin T. Stanton, Jr.!

Bob Sinclair: This is a huge opportunity for Stanton. With Phoenix losing earlier tonight, Stanton could use a win to narrow the gap in his pairing.

Tori Montgomery: He may need all the help he can get; Phoenix is determined to repeat this season.

Frankie Garnett: Repeat trips to the buffet, you mean....

Jack Lightning (2-1, 14%) vs. Diamond (1-2, 22%)

Metallica's "Ride the Lightning" hits the speakers as the first Canadian to enter The League emerges from the back, looking surprisingly at ease as he steps onto the ring apron and leaps over the top rope. Climbing onto the turnbuckles, he raises an arm in the air and drinks in the cheers of the crowd before dropping back to the mat and preparing for his match.

Amelia Williams: This bout is scheduled for one fall! Introducing first, from London, Ontario, weighing 233 pounds...Jack Lightning!

Bob Sinclair: Lightning's had a good start to the season, but he's got a challenge tonight.

Frankie Garnett: Lemme guess, Tori, here's where you have your pointless stat of the match, right?

Tori Montgomery: Not pointless, Frankie. Lightning has yet to beat his opponent tonight in two prior attempts.

"Don't Cha" hits the arena to a mixed reaction as The League's lone female member emerges from backstage. There is a confident smirk on her face as she talks trash with some of the louder fans before sprinting into the ring by diving under the bottom rope. As she stands, she proceeds to the corner nearest the announce table, hands thrown in the air as the soaks in the crowd reaction while her manager stands outside, also applauding her client.

Amelia Williams: His opponent, accompanied to the ring by Jayde, from Aberdeen, Scotland, weighing 137 pounds...Diamond!

Frankie Garnett: Wait, so Diamond is 2-0 against Lightning?

Tori Montgomery: Yep.

Tori Montgomery: ....

Johnny Triumph (2-1, 17%) vs. Master Imoka (1-2, 20%)

A remixed version of "Ecstasy of Gold" hits the speakers, which is nearly drowned out in jeers as he emerges from the entryway. Instead of taking the steps closest to him, he walks around to the opposite side of the ring, drawing in more jeers as he finally climbs the steps and enters the ring, deciding to enter on his terms and his terms alone.

Amelia Williams: Ladies and gentlemen, this is our main event of the evening, scheduled for one fall! Introducing first, from Des Moines, Iowa, weighing 228 pounds...Johnny Triumph!

Bob Sinclair: Triumph remains determined to avenge his loss in the final match of last season, and his record is indicative of that.

Tori Montgomery: He's the favorite to come out of his pairing, but Gaius isn't making it easy on him.

Frankie Garnett: Are you even listening to yourself, Tori? Triumph is all but assured a spot in the playoffs!

"You're the Best" blasts from the arena speakers as The League's lone Samoan emerges from the back, staring a hole through the ring as if by doing so, he can change it to his preferred medium of a martial arts mat. As he gets to ringside, he quickly lashes out and kicks the top half of the steel steps off the bottom half, snarling as he slides into the ring and stands motionless, waiting for the bell to sound.

Amelia Williams: His opponent, from the Isle of Samoa, weighing 214 pounds...Master Imoka!

Tori Montgomery: The advantage in this series goes to Triumph, who enters tonight with a 2-1 record against Imoka.

@EveGrungeRules- @LeagueToriM I'm @III's cousin. I've been told he was admitted to the hospital to check for concussion symptoms, but he left the hospital without signing out.

@EveGrungeRules- @LeagueToriM I've tried calling his phone but it goes straight to voicemail.

@EveGrungeRules- @LeagueToriM Unfortunately he went on this season's tour alone this time around. I've called the American Embassy in Japan and they assure they're looking for him.

Yay, a big win for Nuclear over Phoenix... first person to beat the champ is the guy who some people consider the true champ. I guess Coach's training is really paying off, more of the same methinks and hopefully Nuclear won't tap out in 3 minutes ever again. :)

@Survive_The_Sting! @Psycho_Sam_BBW I'll make you tap out quicker than if you're name was Tarik Nolan.

@Survive_The_Sting! @Psycho_Sam_BBW I am the avenging sword of taste and decency while you're just some talentless curtain jerker who will feel the Scorpion's sting and realize you just got beat by the best wrestler of all time.

@Survive_The_Sting! @EveGrungeRules You want to know what happened to your cousin @III??? He is praying to whatever gods he prays to and he is thanking them because he faced @Psycho_Sam_BBW inside that steel caged instead of me because I would have messed him up worse.

@Survive_The_Sting! @EveGrungeRules That b**** @LeagueToriM is an unreliable skank. She's probably taking care of @III the only ways she knows how and that's with her "assets."

@Survive_The_Sting! @EveGrungeRules Damn right the American Embassy is looking for @III. They think he is the Zodiac killer.

Yay, a big win for Nuclear over Phoenix... first person to beat the champ is the guy who some people consider the true champ. I guess Coach's training is really paying off, more of the same methinks and hopefully Nuclear won't tap out in 3 minutes ever again. :)

True. We need more Coach Robert Greene promos. He rules. It was Champion vs Champion and since you won to become the Undisputed League Champion. However, since your only loss this season is to Scorpion doesn't that make him technically the new Undisputed League Champion????? Boggles the mind I know. :p:D

No. You lost to III, who lost to me, who lost to Imoka, who lost to Hammerskald, who lost to Eidenhoek, who lost to Triumph, who lost to Carlisle, who lost to Lightning, who lost to Diamond, who lost to Phoenix, who lost to Nuclear, so the Undisputed League Championship is confusing. Right?
