There were many small regional promotions that sprang up in the mid twentieth century, but there is little recorded information prior to the founding of OLLIE in 1955. OLLIE quickly established itself as the biggest promotion in Mexican History. Through superior bankroll and the emergence of starts like El Patron OLLIE dominated the market and became the sole promotion in Mexico. This was a golden period for the company as their monopoly allowed them to assemble an<img style="float: right; margin: 15px; border: 2px solid black;" title="El Patron" src="http://i1253.photobucket.com/albums/hh584/Tiberious4/MPWF/ElPatron_alt.jpg" alt="El Patron in wrestling gear." height="100" width="100"> all star roster of Lucha Greats.<br><br>OLLIE continued it's success throughout the 60s and early 70s as it became ever more popular and profitable. Part of the reason for OLLIE's financial success was that their management kept a tight budget and kept salaries low. In 1975 the contracts of four of their top wrestlers were coming up for renewal. El Barbaro, Mephisto, Fantasma, and El Aguila Amerciana were all national stars, behind only El Patron in terms of popularity, but despite the huge gates they were bringing in they were refused raises they had been promised. In addition to heavy fines, all of the promotions contracts were declared null and void.<br><br>The sudden shock of every wrestler in Mexico being a free agent threatened to cause Lucha Libre to fall into Chaos. Realizing how catastrophic this could be, the owners of OLLIE, SOTBPW, and MPWF met to find a solution to this problem and agreed to hold a national draft with all the wrestlers in Mexico being eligible. This event was known as "The Day of Change" as the event drew widespread attention across all forms of media. This turned out to be a boon for the wrestling industry in Mexico as attendance rose dramatically in the monfs following the draft. The draft also benifited MPWF as they were able to retain most of their prior stars such as Electrico, Magnifico, and Spanish Superfly while bringing in top talent like Soul Taker, El Bandido, and Mayan Idol.<br><br>MPWF have continued it's resurgence over the last five years as it's fanbase had grown as a result of it's quality wrestling, characters, and entertainment for all ages. Wait, Energia is a rudo? What the hell? He's totally a technico! WHY HOMBRE WHY?! Anyway, Ultimate's not a good wrestler, and the other side is solid, I believe. I hope Verde bounces back from this, because he's got the entertainment to be one of the frontmen of the company.

Thanks for the compliment! Your NYCW diary basically taught me about how to properly use booking notes, so I appreciate you taking the time to compliment.

Your probably right about the coloring on the blue. The background was initially darker so I needed a lighter font to stand out. I should probably mention that I used Crayon's FictionPlus website for my introduction.

Taker's one of my favorite Mexican workers, so that's an easy bid. Is Bandolero you? I don't recall that name.

For some reason I had it in my name that El Bandido's name was Bandelero, but I can understand why you'd think it's a new character since I'm using an alt for him. I've fixed that mistake now.

I have to say I'm a fan of Energia. I didn't realize until recently that pretty much all of my favorite Mexican C-Verse characters worked for MPWF. That's the main reason I wanted to do a diary on them.

Not much point with reasons so early on, but I'm definitely looking forward to this. Does this signal the end to POW and/or RLL? Would be a shame to see such efforts gone.

Your certainly right about that; I'm hoping I can be an exception to the rule. I had already set the Angles down to 80% since that gives me more flexibility.

I've been in a bit of a creative rut for the past couple weeks. It's not that I haven't had the time to update, it's just that I haven't really had the inclination and I figure that if my heart isn't in it then I shouldn't be doing it.

I've been playing my own personal road to glory game in the C-verse, and when I was looking around the database I noticed how awesome MPWF was. They a roster with great talent, fun characters, and a product that mixes good in ring action with entertainment and a healthy dose of comedy. Eventually I gave in to my urge to start a diary for them.

Unfortunately I think this will probably be the end of the RLL diary. I feel bad ending it before it really gets started, especially with MJStark making awesome title belts for me, but I'm just not really sure where I was going story wise with it.

I don't think this is the end for my POW diary. I'd hate to have it fizzle out right after winning Mod diary of the Month. I do have some ideas for where I want to go with the story, but I think I need somewhat of a break from the diary, so I'd consider it on Hiatus rather than Retired.

Hijo del Relampago was the first to his feet, but as he pulled his challenger up, Snap Dragon rammed him into the ring post. Snap Dragon rammed Relampago into the post for a second time before hitting a series of brutal knees to the champion sandwhiching him against the steel post. However as Snap Dragon continued his vicious assault he failed to notice the referee reaching a twenty count and being forced to call an end to the match.</span><br id=""><br id=""><span style="font-family: terminal,monaco;"><strong id=""><span style="color: rgb(128, 0, 0);">Hijo del Relampago and Snap Dragon draw via double count out in 8:16.</span></strong></span><br id=""><br id=""><span style="font-family: terminal,monaco;">Snap Dragon looked furious as the bell rang and he realised what had happened. The referee began counting to three, but at the last second Mario Heroic broke the pin and nailed Magnifico with the Hero Attack! El Bandido then nailed Heroic with the Hijack Suplex, but in turn was nailed with the Electric Shock! Electrico climbed to the top rope, but was cut off by Soul Taker who caught him in midair with the Lifeforce drain! <br id=""><br id="">Electrico struggled, but was growing limp as Soul Taker mercilessly squeezed the life out of him. However Soul Taker was so intent on Electrico that he failed to notice the big Mayan Idol back on his feet as the Campeon de Herencia de Mundo nailed him with the Aztec Lariat! Magnifico snuck up from behind with the Magnifico Cradle! One, Two - No Mayan Idol rolls through and leaps into the air and absolutely crushes Magnifico with a chest smashing Super Senton! Midnightnick, Jaded, and Tigerkinney got the most correct with the 3 correct predictions each. I knew the draw between Snap Dragon and Hijo del Relampago was going to throw people off, but I was surprised how many people went with HMA in the handicap match; I guess people love underdogs.

Overall this show was more of a getting used to booking MPWF. I didn't get an especially great rating overall, but not every TV show is going to be a homerun. Putting my six most over stars in a six man tag match was a bit of a mistake grade wise since it's a popularity based fed and it meant none of the other matches were going to get great grades, but I wanted to get everyone on the card and I felt it was a good way to get storyline going.

The semi-main event between Chess Maniac and Spanish Superfly suffered from unforeseen bad chemistry, which is unfortunate because I had expected it to do at least as well as the title match I had opening the show. Bad chemistry is always an annoyance, but it's just something you have to live with.

It would be nice to see someone like Inky The Squid Boy or Acid tear the place down. As for foreign workers I do have something in mind. I've signed working agreements with CZCW, WLW, and ZEN, and am thinking of having a world lucha tournament with teams from each promotion. The idea is based in part on the TNA World X Cup they did back in 2008.

The two competitors began brawling on the outside, but eventually the action made it's way back into the ring and the referee was able to ring the bell to signify the official beginning of the match.<br id=""><br id="">The action was hot from the get go with both of the competitors not hesitating to go for their big moves early in an effort to put away their opponent.
