1983 War To Settle The Score Mod Hype Thread

Recommended Posts

Damn it I thought I had fix that problem with the last upload. Are you using the Beta or the most recent version?

I have tweaked Wrestler stats to match up more closely to the Cornellverse stats using the Beta version. However, I am using the most recent version data for the companies themselves. I will make the changes to the Japanese economy, wrestling industry, and trends and give it a go. Kudos for your hard work. I can't wait to finally dive into this.

Let me know if it doesn't work. Thank you for the compliment.

Looking forward to trying this. First thing I noticed is that Jimmy Snuka has the wrong pic assigned. Thanks for all of your effort.

Which version are you using? I just checked the one I have it should D.O.T.T. picture of him. I hope you enjoy it and have fun with it. Anymore problems please tell me and I will see if I can fix them.:)

1983 was arguably one of the greatest years of all time in pro rassling because of the veteran/youngster mix. Lots of guys were still in their primes, and others were rising stars. Unlike today, the rising stars had the veterans to learn from by working with them a lot.

Regarding my Pacific Northwest game- I gotta love (and hate) the bad backstage scene because of Billy Jack Haynes and Col DeBeers. Really have to manage that and fire guys when they act up. (Where's the fire button?? lol Just when there's an incident it seems. Gimmicks are frustrating as usual in this game.

Very glad money is not an issue in this version of TEW. Was tired of going bankrupt after a few months in TEW2010 playing historical mods. Been scoring D+ to C+ and making money after a few months. Meeting all of Don Owen's goals. Was able to hire Killer Kowalski as my A Psychology Road agent after my old one died.

Playing around with this mod last night and today. Booking it as close to real life as possible. WWF and MACW interestingly I am getting better grades than the computer does booking shows. Already somehow booked two rated 99 matches. Plus on one game as watcher saw Ric Flair and Roddy Piper have a five star match and the game actually show it which was the first time I have ever seen the game do that.

I always thought I was making a mistake with the game. Because JCP didn't run any shows outside of the Mid-Atlantic region. Checking on website I have came across realizing I wasn't making a mistake but, the game was actually doing what JCP did and the WWF did back in 1983. Now have to work on narratives so can get some things fixed.

Just saying. Reason there is no Cult companies because at this time there was no company at Cult status. Georgia Championship Wrestling is the closest to be a Cult company hence why they become one of the first companies to hit Cult.

Fix all the problems you found but computer went haywired so and lost all the data. So I am little pissed before I try to fix it again. Also lost my two save games. Ken Shamrock I moved him to 1986 because he was going to be younger and have more time to grow.

Written contracts was unheard of for Professional Wrestling at the time the game starts. In 1984 most of the WWF guys were on Exclusive contracts but not written. It wasn't until The Midnight Express nearly jumped with the belts in 1986 that Crockett decided to give his guys written contracts. Hence why Tully and Arn was able to jump when they did in 1988.

Exclusive PPA or PPA is the only contract people should have from 1984 to at least and even maybe all the way to when Hogan jumped to WCW in 1994. Only the game allows to sign people to Written at Cult hence why everyone is at Regional when the Mod starts.

Vince in 1984 out spent people by the time 1990's came around he mellowed out on the spending spree. Because the industry was in downward spiral for a few years. Plus the WWF was the biggest dog in the yard by that time. Everybody wanted to work for the WWF. Hence why many of the top wrestlers jumped at the chance to work for them. There is reason why they say Sting is the biggest name in wrestling history to never work for Vince or WWF because minus Abdullah the Butcher he is the biggest draw to never work for them.

Yes for people that don't realize it Abdullah the Butcher did put asses in the seat as did Kamala who helped carry WCCW in the earlier part of the 1980's. Up in Canada Dino Bravo was a bigger draw than Hulk Hogan. Don't believe me look it up. When Bravo and Hogan was on the same card the crowds in Canada popped louder for Bravo even though he was a bad guy.

been playing 2.1 and I noticed a couple problems.

#1 Owen Hart is a far better technician and has better psychology than Bret. I edited my game to give Owen low 70s technician skills and moved Bret's Mat Skills to 85. I then lowered Owen's Psychology to 63 and increased Bret's to 75. Seems a bit more accurate to me.

#2 Jim Cornette is some sort of god. 100 mic, charisma, announcing, star quality and 97 psychology and 90 respect his rookie year?

Plus he had been around the business already for four or five years by the time Memphis started using him. Respect I checked and lowered it from 75 to 30. Lowered Mic, Charisma, Psychology.

Lowered all of Owen's stats to 60's. What happened with Owen is I had him debuting a few years later originally but , found out his debut match was when he was 16 years old. So I moved his debut to 1983 forgetting to change his stats and this is the reason why I am taking my time on the 1985 mod. So these errors are caught before release. Thank you for catching it and reporting the errors any more please tell me.
