http://img842.imageshack.us/img842/5565/outlawwesrevell.jpg vs. http://img441.imageshack.us/img441/2306/brendanidol.jpg

Outlaw Wes Revell vs. Brendal Idol

Idol was slightly ahead during most of this match and while Revell did put up a good fight he did fall short into end when Idol connected with Idolizer.

WINNER: Brendal Idol by pinfall in 7:08 E

1 vs. 1 King of the Network tournament 1st round

http://img846.imageshack.us/img846/3851/maddogmortimer.jpg vs. http://img840.imageshack.us/img840/4683/antmanz.jpg

Mad Dog Mortimer vs. Ant-Man

This one was a pure brawl with no fancy moves shown as both guys seemed to be happy just hitting each other´s as hard as they could. Unfortunately for Mortimer, Ant-Man seemed to be the one who did hit harder and Antidote nets him the win and ticked to the next round.

WINNER: Ant-Man by pinfall in 5:40 E-

ANGLE:

http://img840.imageshack.us/img840/4683/antmanz.jpg

Ant-Man takes time to hype himself after the match telling that he will be gunning to the top and that he will beat up anyone who tries to come to his way. E-

2 vs. 2

http://img13.imageshack.us/img13/3696/cerberusx.jpg & http://img855.imageshack.us/img855/4003/evilspirit.jpg vs. http://img198.imageshack.us/img198/7710/kcglenn.jpg & http://img707.imageshack.us/img707/6958/remmyhoneyman.jpg

Cerberus & Evil Spirit vs. KC Glenn & Remmy Honeyman

Evil Spirit tried his mind games at the start but to no real effect as both Glenn and Honeyman where focused and didn´t bite to Spirit´s stalling games. However Cerberus did and he tagged himself in by hitting Spirit straight to the jaw, pretty much taking him out from the match. Cerberus didn´t seem to care as he did go against Glenn even going after him when Glenn wasn´t the legal man. Glenn did take quite a beating but like in their first encounter he managed to weather the storm and eventually gain a win via another flash pin.

WINNERS: KC Glenn & Remmy Honeyman by pinfall in 8:20 E+

ANGLE:

http://img13.imageshack.us/img13/3696/cerberusx.jpghttp://img855.imageshack.us/img855/4003/evilspirit.jpg

Cerberus was furious at the outcome and takes his anger out on his partner as he attacks Evil Spirit who´s still recovering from earlier punch and puts him down and out again this time via DDT. E+

http://img571.imageshack.us/img571/8885/regularjoe.jpg vs. http://img41.imageshack.us/img41/1629/benwilliamsalt3.jpg

Regular Joe vs. Cowboy Ben Williams

This was close and quite even if little uninspiring match that saw Joe taking the win after connecting with Joe and Behold.

WINNER: Regular Joe by pinfall in 7:38 E-

1 vs. 1 King of the Network tournament 1st round

http://img580.imageshack.us/img580/8796/jacobjett.jpg vs. http://img829.imageshack.us/img829/2738/joshjones.jpg

Jacob Jett vs. Josh Jones

This was a really nice match from ESE´s standards that saw Jett´s high flying offence mixed with Josh´s more ground based technical style. Josh manages to keep control of the early part by keeping Jett grounded but in the end his game plan fails and Jett manages to take the air and connects with few high risk, high reward moves that turn the match on Jett´s favor and Emergency Landing seals the match after thirteen minutes.

WINNER: Jacob Jett by pinfall in 13:01 D

Show Rating: E+

Comments: This time the main event delivered not that I´m surprised since both Jones and Jett are skilled guys. Semi-main event didn´t deliver but I didn´t expect much from it anyway and part of the bad rating is simply because match was too long for Ben. Paige did ok as road agent too so that´s fixed for now. I tried to have Ant-Man inspire his promo but that did go horrible wrong (I tried the same with DWN in last show and it worked for him). Luckily this is good spot to test this kind of things as pretty much any rating will get me forward anyway. I just hope I remember (not going to happen) what I learned for later too. As for news outside of ESE, SWF crashed back to National after rising up last month and TCW dropped to cult level.

Predictions: This week seemed to be lot easier compered to first show with three full scores. Idol and Joe simply won because there were two most over guys from the roster and I didn´t see much reason to hurt their overness this early. Jett was another case of being too talented to lose on the first round while Mad Dog is simply classified as jobber right now while Ant-Man is basically fringe main eventer (or that´s the plan right now). Glenn picked another win over Cerberus for storyline reasons plus I wanted to give Remmy a win after good performance in January.

This week:

This month we will see the second round matches of King of the Network tournament. In our first match Jayson Van Pelt will face Evil Spirit. Can Van Pelt keep his words on proving he belong here or will Spirit´s mind games be too much for him? Too promising youngsters will face each other´s in our second match when Davis Wayne Newton and KC Glenn will face up while veteran Brendal Idol will face Ant-Man in our third match-up. The fourth and last 2nd round match sees Regular Joe and Jacob Jett clashing with each other´s in order to determinate the last man who advances to semi-finals.

http://img89.imageshack.us/img89/3930/jaysonvanpelthhj.jpg vs. http://img855.imageshack.us/img855/4003/evilspirit.jpg

Jayson Van Pelt vs. Evil Spirit

Spirit tried his usual mind games and hit-and-run tactics but though Van Pelt did get quite annoyed it didn´t help Spirit at the end as Van Pelt finally managed to connect with Axe Kick after chasing Spirit around the ring for about seven minutes.

WINNER: Jayson Van Pelt by pinfall in 7:15 E

ANGLE:

http://img89.imageshack.us/img89/3930/jaysonvanpelthhj.jpghttp://img255.imageshack.us/img255/6573/daviswaynenewton2.jpg

Davis Wayne Newton comes to the ringside after the match and mockingly congratulated Van Pelt for his victory but also tells him that he´s tournament will be over in next round when he faces the only true wrestler in ESE (Which according to Newton is Newton himself of course). Announcers note that Newton is quite arrogant and over confident considering that he isn´t even advanced to the semi-finals yet. E-

Davis Wayne Newton vs. KC Glenn

Newton might be arrogant but he does have talent to match his shout as O´Hara and Smith grudgingly admits after seeing him in ring with another A class talent on KC Glenn.

http://img13.imageshack.us/img13/3696/cerberusx.jpg

Unfortunately the great match ends via interference when Cerberus comes to ringside. That distracts Glenn long enough for Newton to take advantage and hit him Fisherman´s Suplex thus earning his place on third round.

WINNER: Davis Wayne Newton by pinfall in 11:48 D+

ANGLE:

http://img13.imageshack.us/img13/3696/cerberusx.jpghttp://img198.imageshack.us/img198/7710/kcglenn.jpg

Cerberus isn´t happy on just costing Glenn the tournament as he attacks Glenn while Newton makes a quick escape Cerberus hits Glenn down hard via DDT before leaving the ring. E+

http://img441.imageshack.us/img441/2306/brendanidol.jpg vs. http://img840.imageshack.us/img840/4683/antmanz.jpg

Brendal Idol vs. Ant-Man

Ant-Man seems to have pretty simple gameplan, attack, attack and then attack some more. It does work on the early going as Idol is too busy dodging attacks to launch any of his own but after a short while he gets better into the match and eventually manages to take the air and get the win via Idolizer.

WINNER: Brendal Idol by pinfall in 8:08 E

1 vs. 1 King of the Network tournament 2nd round

http://img571.imageshack.us/img571/8885/regularjoe.jpg vs. http://img580.imageshack.us/img580/8796/jacobjett.jpg

Regular Joe vs. Jacob Jett

This was pretty similar match than what Jett had with Joe´s tag partner Jones in the first round and the outcome is the same too with Jett picking the win via Emergency Landing after hard fought battle.

WINNER: Jacob Jett by pinfall in 9:56 D

Show Rating: E+

Comments: I knew I was wasting a great match on undercard when I did put Glenn and DWN against each other´s but what I didn´t know is that they had good chemistry with each other´s. If both guys stay with me then there will certainly be a feud between them at some point. Jett and Joe impressed too while Idol and Ant-Man did fall little bit short. Jacob Jett somehow gained tons of overness during this month as he´s suddenly jumped from F- to E- in USA. Not sure what happened there since he only works for 4C and me. The overness jump is also kind of a double edged weapon as though it´s obviously useful to me and will likely net better ratings there is now a real danger that Jett won´t re-sign with me if I´m still local at the end of the year.

Just popped in to say in really enjoying this. Easy to follow, nice and simple but with enough detail to keep interest. Looking forward to seeing your feuds gather speed.

Agreed - this is one of my favourite 2013 diaries so far. That's partly down to me liking the smaller feds and new start-ups more than the 'big' feds anyway, but it's also because this is a really good format and well-written. Keep up the good work, Zergon!

Thanks guys, I try not to bore you later on. :D It´s nice to finally get the first two rounds of the tournamnet out of my way as though I like tournaments, it did limit my booking options somewhat. Also big thanks for everyone who took time to read/predict in this round. I don´t remember to say it often enough but your feedback really helps me keep going with my diaries. :)

Predictions:TakerNGN74 and Tiberious4 managed to get full score from a round that I would dare to say was one of the hardest ones in this first contest. Overall Idol got the win because he was most over guy from the start, DWN and Jett are simply so talented that I didn´t dare to leave them out espesially since the last three tournament matches will be my next three main events too. Glenn simply didn´t make it because I wanted to run a storyline between him and Cerberus and because of this Glenn needed a quick exit from the tournament itself. Evil Spirit has that double negative backstage presense to worry about and because of that (plus the fact that he doesn´t speak english) I didn´t want to push him past second round. And besides I needed another face and I have high trust on Van Pelt who is one of the main eventers in ACPW and who thus has shown that he can handle a spot at the top of the card.

This week:

April 2013

Sunday week 2

Dark Matches:

1 vs. 1

Davis Wayne Newton vs. Mad Dog Mortimer

WINNER: Davis Wayne Newton by pinfall in 8:01 E+

Attendance: 16

ANGLE:

http://img580.imageshack.us/img580/8796/jacobjett.jpghttp://img441.imageshack.us/img441/2306/brendanidol.jpg

Show starts with Jacob Jett coming into ring and telling that he is going to big league where he belongs and so this will be his final night in ESE. He also states that before he leave he is going to drop Brendal Idol from the King of the Network tournament because failure like Idol doesn´t deserve to be champion even in backwater promotion like ESE. This draws Idol from the back who states that people are sure glad to see Jett go and that Idol will give nice going away present for Jett and kick him out of the promotion by beating him in the ring tonight. E+

2 vs. 2

http://img836.imageshack.us/img836/267/zacharyinc.jpg & http://img855.imageshack.us/img855/4003/evilspirit.jpg vs. http://img89.imageshack.us/img89/3930/jaysonvanpelthhj.jpg & http://img198.imageshack.us/img198/7710/kcglenn.jpg

Zachary Inc & Evil Spirit vs. Jayson Van Pelt & KC Glenn

Spirit again tries he´s usual stalling tactics but that was cut short when Van Pelt charged over the top rope to hit Spirit down while he was outside of the ring. Glenn and Van Pelt seemed to work well together and made short work on their opponents. Glenn eventually got the pin when he hit Zachary via Tune Up The Sunshine Band.

WINNERS: Jayson Van Pelt & KC Glenn by pinfall in 6:26 E+

1 vs. 1

http://img163.imageshack.us/img163/2516/paranoiay.jpg vs. http://img13.imageshack.us/img13/3696/cerberusx.jpg

Paranoia vs. Cerberus

Paranoia was simply out powered here and though he managed to have some offence on his own, there was little question about the eventual winner. Still Paranoia showed heart and it took Cerberus around five minutes to finally get Paranoia down for good.

WINNER: Cerberus by pinfall in 5:11 F+

ANGLE:

http://img13.imageshack.us/img13/3696/cerberusx.jpg

After the match, Cerberus declares that Glenn has made him look like a fool twice but now he will pay for that and that the last month´s beat down was just a preview. He also warns Glenn to check his testament because he might need it soon. F

2 vs. 2

http://img571.imageshack.us/img571/8885/regularjoe.jpg & http://img829.imageshack.us/img829/2738/joshjones.jpg vs. http://img41.imageshack.us/img41/1629/benwilliamsalt3.jpg & http://img842.imageshack.us/img842/5565/outlawwesrevell.jpg

Blue Collars (Regular Joe & Josh Jones) vs. Modern Day Outlaws (Cowboy Ben Williams & Outlaw Wes Revell)

Nice even tag match between the two real teams in ESE. Eventually this close match was decided by Regular Joe who pins Revell after Joe and Behold.

WINNERS: Blue Collars by pinfall in 8:02 E

ANGLE:

http://img707.imageshack.us/img707/6958/remmyhoneyman.jpghttp://img834.imageshack.us/img834/673/rogerrogers.jpg

Honeyman comes to the ring and tells everyone that he aims to become a big player in ESE and because of that he has hired a manager for himself. Remmy then introduces his new manager, Roger Rogers who declares that he sees great potential on Remmy but reminds him that the road to the top is long and rocky one. F

1 vs. 1

http://img840.imageshack.us/img840/4683/antmanz.jpg vs. http://img707.imageshack.us/img707/6958/remmyhoneyman.jpg /w. http://img834.imageshack.us/img834/673/rogerrogers.jpg

Ant-Man vs. Remmy Honeyman /w. Roger Rogers

Ant-Man´s game plan seemed to be the same than last month, meaning that it was all-out attack again. However, while that might not be particularly classy strategy, it is an effective one when used right and while Remmy did put-up a good fight he eventually succumbs to Ant-Man´s relentless attacks.

WINNER: Ant-Man by pinfall in 10:05 E+

ANGLE:

http://img840.imageshack.us/img840/4683/antmanz.jpghttp://img571.imageshack.us/img571/8885/regularjoe.jpg

After the match Ant-Man takes time to address the audience telling them that he will gun to the top and that Idol only got a fluke win last month. Ant-Man then challenges anyone from the backstage to fight against him next month so that he can prove his superiority. Regular Joe answers his challenge though he does suggest a tag team match instead of singles one. Ant-Man mocks Joe of being too scared to fight him one-on-one but accepts the tag challenge, declaring that beating two guys is twice as much fun as beating one guy. E

1 vs. 1 King of the Network tournament semi-finals

http://img441.imageshack.us/img441/2306/brendanidol.jpg vs. http://img580.imageshack.us/img580/8796/jacobjett.jpg

Brendal Idol vs. Jacob Jett

This was one of those fast-phased matches with lots of fly-high action. The match was a close one too but eventually is Idol who gets the win via Idolized thus sending Jett out of ESE with a loss in his back.

WINNER: Brendal Idol by pinfall in 13:07 D

Show Rating: E+

Comments: I had to fix my plans a little bit since Jett is leaving after signing written deal with CGC (guess I didn´t need to worry him leaving after this year :p) as originally I planned to run Van Pelt vs. Newton here and put Idol vs. Jett in my next show. Not much to say about the ratings, some angles sucked hard but that was to be expected. Overall most of the matches did score well for this level but there wasn´t any real surprises. Rogers and Honeyman had good chemistry with each other´s and that was a nice bonus. Two relationships have formed in ESE this month. Firstly Ben Williams and Regular Joe are now good friends which will likely help both guys in the long run. Brendal Idol and Reese Paige have also started dating which is a good thing as long as there won´t be any messy breakups. Both of these will help my backstage rating a little bit and since it´s currently in 68% I take any help I can get. Evil Spirit seems to have decided to combat against my backstage rating as much as possible since he made a mean spirited prank on O´Hara. I let him off with just stern warning but he didn´t help his case with that since I´m already considering dropping him because his bad attitude. Then again with Jett gone Spirit is most likely to take his spot as one of the top heels…

Guys Leaving:

Jacob Jett

Age: 26

Heel, Big League Star

Record: 3 – 0 – 1

Well it didn´t take long for Jett to leave me as CGC came calling and signed him to written deal. Jett leaving will make a big hole on my heel side (I really should have taken this into account when deciding who is heel and who is face) but then again you always take this kind of risk when you sign top talent. Shame, especially since it was Canadian company that signed him meaning that he wouldn´t likely gain much overness in USA during his stay in CGC (which would have been helpful later on if he is let go and I could re-sign him). Also because it´s too early to turn anyone and I don´t have anyone I could sign on wrestler pool yet, I just have to do with those heels that I have right now (Not that it’s a bad thing really, having to use guys who aren´t ideal for their position is one of the main reasons I choose these restrictions; I just like to whine once on the while for no real reason :p). At least I don´t need to re-think my storylines much since Jett actually wasn´t in any of them at the moment (I had one planned for him at the start of the next year though). I will definitely look to bring him back at some point if he´s available but right now I have to do without him.

Predictions: Tiberious4 got another full score (3rd time on the row) on this round and with that the takes the lead on the prediction contest. The round itself seemed to be quite hard likely partly because it´s still early and so there´s no clear pecking order yet. Idol obviously won because Jett was leaving, that said I had planned Idol to win this round even if Jett would have stayed. Ant-Man is one of the top heels and he´s even more important now that Jett left. Remmy, though solid guy is pretty low on pecking order simply because I have plenty of faces that I trust (if you would ask who my top 8 guys are there would be only two heels on that list) and as a result Remmy is going to collect more losses that he really deserves to until I can fix the balance via new signings or/and turns. As for the two tag teams Blue Collars are simply higher on my pecking order right now as they are considered midcarders while Modern Day Outlaws are basically jobbers. And with things still in early state I need to establish top guys first so Outlaws are another guys who won´t be seeing many wins right now. Cerberus has storyline going and he´s monster heel routine means that he has to get wins once in a while and Paranoia isn´t going to be anything else than a jobber. Glenn and Van Pelt were simply higher on pecking order than Spirit & Zachary so they picked up win too in order to solify their position near the top of the card.

This round:

Tiberious4 5/5

Occasional_Z 4/5

BHK1978 3/5

TakerNGN74 2/5

Jingo 1/5

Overall:

Tiberious4 14/14

BHK1978 11/18

Jaded 9/13

Jingo 9/18

Occasional_Z 7/9

TakerNGN74 6/9

BYU 14 2/4

This month´s main event will be the second semi-finals match as Jayson Van Pelt and Dawis Wayne Newton will determinate who will be facing Brendal Idol with the King of the Network title on the line. Regular Joe and Ant-Man will be clashing in tag action after their war of words last month. Joe teams up with his regular partner Josh Jones while Ant-Man will have Outlaw Wes Revell in his corner. Cerberus, who threathened to beat KC Glenn last month will be facing Brendal Idol. Considering how Cerberus respended to loss against Glenn this is far from ideal match for Idol to get ready on the finals of King of the Network tournament. Speaking of Glenn he will also be in singles action this month as he faces Cowboy Ben Williams. Mad Dog Mortimer versus Evil Spirit rounds out this month´s card.

Predictions:

1 vs. 1

KC Glenn vs. Cowboy Ben Williams

1 vs. 1

Mad Dog Mortimer vs. Evil Spirit

Cerberus vs. Brendal Idol

2 vs. 2

Ant-Man & Outlaw Wes Revell vs. Blue Collars (Regular Joe & Josh Jones)
