2013 saw Eric improve tremendously improve in wrestling skill for me. He usually loses to a face main eventer each PPV, but the match grades have been progressively getting better. I'm at the beginning of 2014, and I just pushed him back up to main event status. In a few months I plan on face turning him and putting him against his dad.

What I was wondering was how you guys get the developmental workers to rise up the card. I'm not looking for advice like put them in storylines/angles with popular workers. I'm interested in specifics. For instance, after firing Big Smack Scott, I teamed Lenny Brown with Kurt Laramee as Team Pain. I also teamed Masked Patriot with a repackaged Jack Marlowe. Everyone else has pretty much just sat at the bottom of the card losing to the midcarders, gaining a pretty minimal amount of popularity.

Led by a repackaged Joe Sexy as Joseph Lust and Tagging with John Greed, Allen Became the muscle of the group Josiah Wrath. I also picked up Krissy Angelle who was repackaged as Johanna Envy.

I put them in a storyline with just themselves (not allied so whenever they were in a segment together the story would continue) and for four or five months they would be in vignettes with them doing something Dastardly; Wrath and Greed beating up some girls boyfriend so Lust could hit on her, Lust and Wrath helping Greed cheat at cards, a barroom brawl were each person can indulge in their sin, Greed, Lust and Wrath stealing something because Envy sees that some one else has one and she wants one too. With Wrath's part based on Menace and Envy on Sex Appeal the first few months of segments were actually still rated over Lust's popularity so he didn't lose any overness but everyone else gained.

The group finally graduated from Vignettes to backstage angles with other more over wrestlers. Now instead of sinning on their own, they would work to convince other wrestlers to do things their way. This allowed them to try and convince all my main event stars to do something evil and thus upped the ratings on their angles, driving up their overness and the heat of their storyline. They never really had their own feud against some one they were just their trying to convince others to do wrong.

I ended the storyline right before I actually had them start a feud and watched their momentum Skyrocket as Lust went after the North American title which was by then on Robbie Retro who was on my NBT list.

His dad owns the company and, thus far, that's been rather fruitful for him. We've already seen that nepotism has benefited him greatly (despite having a rather boring skill-set and lackluster star quality). That said, I try to keep him a strong as possible due to the fact that, I'm sure, his political power backstage would make it hard not to. Piss him off? You may piss his dad off (your employer).

I've had him work with the likes of Angry Gilmore, Christian Faith, Captain Atomic, and now Remo in 2013. The first two were designed to give him a 'ring general' to work with. Atomic was a battle over the NA Championship (one for which he eventually lost). Remo's is now part of a heated rivalry between he, Ms. Chase, Eric Eisen and Rich Money (aka The "fallout of the Establishment" storyline).

He's now in a prominent role to be somewhat of the bigger babyfaces in the SWF right now (warring with Money; as we'll see on this upcoming episode of SupremeTV).

That said, I'm still VERY leery of his in-ring skills. I could place him in a direct program with Money over the title; however, I've already been burned by a Vengeance/Frehley main event a few months back that barely pulled a decent grade. Eisen, thus far, has pulled anywhere between a C- and a B- in most matches (B- was only once).

I'm trying to keep him at the top, around the title, without ACTUALLY having him in a match for the belt (at least not now). He needs a really strong hand to work with and, while Money could provide that, I'm afraid of what the grade output would be.

All in all, I think Eric Eisen is one of those characters that people often book into the ground because they don't like him. Is he the greatest wrestler in the world? No. Greatest talker? No. Dripping with star quality? No. That said, he DOES have a very powerful tool to his character... He's an Eisen. You can have A LOT of fun with that if you play it right.

Very much agree with Mr. Eisen-verse. Despite not being the most appealing worker, EE has a fantastic advantage with his character. The SWF is SE, which is fundamentally character and storyline driven. That makes him a great asset IMO.

Its easy to get caught up on Eisen's skills. They are mediocre. He's not great in any way. And there are plenty of talents on the SWF roster who are great. Something that should be kept in mind is that with good overness (which EE has), mediocre in-ring skills can still fetch you reasonable grades. He's not going to be pulling B+ grades regularly but unless you are going to put him in a world title feud, that's not really a big issue.

In 2013, I've typically used EE in an upper midcard gatekeeper role. I typically have him win the NA title off of Gilmore, who gets revenge before moving up to the main event scene. EE can then feud with whoever needs to move up a bit. Someone like Robbie Retro, one of the Bumfhole's, etc. Even if EE won't snag fantastic match grades out of them, they are adequate and the angle grades should be okay. The character makes storylines easy enough, and you can have him in any number of possible alliances based on that. EE isn't necessarily a guy who someone has to get over to move up the card, but he can help guys move up at least a bit. Maybe that's only bumping them from LMC to MC.

I was inspired by E-V's diary to give SWF a try and I'm using Christian Faith as my user mostly because he's in a similar position as Undertaker but I wanted him to be more active. I'm focusing on taking a similar approach as E-V by focusing the show around the upper midcard and above with the rest being secondary characters until I figure out a good plan for them. I'm still running the default storylines as I'm only on February and International thanks to bringing down the angle ratio which makes up for sometimes lack luster main event.

Angry Gilmore© vs The Eisen Empire (Eric, Enforcer Roberts, Spencer Spade)

Roberts and Spade are basically keeping Eric safe from Gilmore as he continues taunting him.

Jack Bruce vs Brandon James with Emma Chase (James and Chase have bad chemistry:()

Brandon vs Bruce has been a killer storyline with Jack retaining his popularity and James gaining thanks to his beatdowns. Emma is promo gold.

Faith vs Vengeance

Just something to give both of them to do. I don't have big plans for Vengeance at the moment but he has pulled some good grades against Faith o the feud will continue.

Remo vs Rich vs Steve©

Rich and Remo beat up Frehley then Remo beats up Rich because Remo don't need friends and Remo smah everyone. My version of Rich Money is influenced by a combination of James Casey's and CM Punk. I'll probably have Remo turn face against Rich Money and have Steve move against Brandon James or Vengeance.

Lobster Warrior and Valiant vs Rogue and Paul Huntingdon

Lobster is just there to match up against Paul. I really want to make them both Main Eventers and I plan on giving them a truly violent final match at Supreme challenge and have Roge go missing for a month of two and return as Wrath of God and maybe fight Vengeance or Faith. My b-plot is for Valiant to destroy Paul a few weeks before fighting Rogue in order to send a messade. Paul would go missing a month to recover and return with the Triple H looking pic and feud with Valiant.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

What I'm here for is some advice on setting up my B-Show. It's SWF Revolution and is going to be based more around the younger roster with a few exceptions. It might have similar characteristics to Underground but I want to build it up in a manner similar to NXT. The problem is finalizing my roster. I have two or so weeks until the show starts and I would like to see what you guys would suggest for storylines, wrestlers, managers, and whatever it is you can help me with. Now to give some idea on how I have it set up now.

Do you guys recommend picking up Jay Chord? I'm towards the end of 2013 and, and his popularity is at 67. I've already taken Rocky Golden, Wolf Hawkins, and several upper midcarders from TCW, and when Joey Minnesota's contract is up in a few months, I plan on taking him, too.

My thinking is that he has a better chance of standing out at TCW, and I can always pick him up in a few years when he has hit main event level. I know how good he can get, but I'm worried he would have a difficult time standing out on a large SWF roster. I also know he can have issues backstage, which worries me. I'm curious how much success people have had building him up, and whether you think he was worth the trouble.

If you have a chance to get Jay, go for it. He's that great of a talent and could be a top-notch long-term main events for you. Sure, he'll great himself in trouble but so did HBK. Think about if the WWF didn't run with him due to such.

Do you guys ever have issues keeping Eric Eisen happy? It's every game for me. He had BIG morale issues for a while, which led to him purposefully underperforming in some matches. His matches had still been great, though, so I made him a main eventer, and I think that's what dropped him to simply having morale issues.

 • 3 weeks later...
I experimented alot with TEW 2005 when it became freeware but never played with the Cornellverse at all. So I decided to go ahead and get TEW 2013 and try the Cornellverse out. I love the SWF product and everything about it, but can't seem to keep it going(in terms of sticking with it and not abandoning it like I have 3 times already).

My curiosity overcame my laziness, so I did the math. I may have messed up, but here is (I think) a list of the top 5 youngest:

1. Corporal Doom: 21 years, 1 month

2. Sean McFly: 21 years, 10 months

3. Steve Frehley: 22 years, 2 months

That would be an interesting challenge, take a fresh dojo recruit and try to push him up to the top as fast as possible before giving him his first title run.

Naturally the kid needs good pop, else it's cheating <img alt=":p" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

I am sure some people here can do it with ease.

Have him squash jobbers, angles with main eventers and he should rise quickly.

Thank you for your help guys. I thought, if Frehley was the youngest, there would be a note of it on his profile. It seemed as though he COULD be given how young he was but it's good to know that the other two made it quicker.

I agree. It'd be a great challenge to take a really young recruit and push him to the moon (straight to the belt).

Hmmm... If that chance comes along... I may have to take that challenge up. <img alt=":)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />
