USPW: We Have Faith!

Recommended Posts

<p>Not a bad first show. Be careful of those C+ show ratings they will drop you to cult within a month. </p><p> </p><p>

My only dislike was how quickly Faith won the title. To me it reeked of WCW Bash at the Beach 94 here you bring in this huge star who is ten times more known than anyone else in the company. To me Nicky Champion is still in that fragile proving ground stage even if he is a two time champion. USPW has been building this guy up for a half a decade to become the guy and the moment he becomes the guy Christian Faith comes in and beats him in their very first match. Its not bad its just to be the same exact thing as when Hogan beat Flair instead of having there be some sort of chase to show that both men are on equal ground and with it being a triple threat you can go either way and say "well Nicky was kept strong since he didn't lose" however at the same time you could have went the other way and said "well Faith is kept strong if he's not the one taking the loss in the first match". I'll be reading to see where thats going but between the way it read during the show and then you saying "no one would be expecting it" you get into dangerous Vince Russo "I'm doing things because nobody expects them" married with mid ninties WCW booking. </p><p> </p><p>

Good luck with the rest of the shows <img alt=":)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p>

However, it is interesting to me that you bring up the Hulk Hogan/Ric Flair situation as that is exactly what I had in mind. The mega star comes in and wins in his first match without a chase for the title. I will also admit that I was looking to keep Nicky strong because not only did he not get pinned, he also came into the match with burn scars on him due to the fireball attack the last week by Tyson Baine. So he was selling a bit of an injury as well. </span></p><p><span style="font-family:'CENTURY GOTHIC';"> </span></p><p><span style="font-family:'CENTURY GOTHIC';"> And I don't plan to go too far into the whole Vince Russo style of booking. <p>USPW American Wrestling Preview</p><p>

January Week 2 2013</p><p> </p><p>

Non Title Match</p><p>

<strong>Cherry Bomb</strong> vs. Melody</p><p>

Comment: I root for anyone named after a Runaways song, especially their biggest hit. Since it's non-title, Cherry can pick up the win here and set up a rematch, this time with the Women's belt on the line.</p><p> </p><p>

USPW Television Title Match</p><p>

<strong>Tribal Warrior</strong> defends vs. Krusher Karloff</p><p>

Comment: Still too early for a title change. Besides, the chance of Petr Novak interfering makes for a potential DQ.</p><p> </p><p>

Atlas vs. <strong>Chris Caulfield</strong></p><p>

Comment: Another easy win for the Hardcore American.</p><p> </p><p>

Peter Valentine vs. <strong>Darryl Devine</strong></p><p>

Comment: Devine doesn't belong in the USPW and that's the highest of compliments. I actually smell a HUGE UPSET here - Valentine usually retires quite early in the game anyway.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Jumbo Jackson</strong> vs. Freddie Datsun</p><p>

Comment: Big guy whom I didn't realize is now a Main Eventer picks up the win versus the aging American Everyman.</p><p> </p><p>

The Titans vs. <strong>Nicky Champion and James Justice</strong></p><p>

Comment: Nicky makes up for his bitter loss in the three-way title match by picking up the win in tag competition.</p><p> </p><p>

Fun Fan Signs: None for this card. Might edit this to add my own, but great idea!</p>

<p><strong>Cherry Bomb</strong> vs. Melody</p><p>

Comment: <em>none-title so I have challenger winning in order to set-up title match later on.</em></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Tribal Warrior</strong> defends vs. Krusher Karloff</p><p>

Comment: <em>Could go either way but when I doubt I go with champ.</em></p><p> </p><p>

Atlas vs. <strong>Chris Caulfield</strong></p><p>

Comment: <em>Atlas isn´t over enough to get a win here but this should help him build overness even when he loses.</em></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Peter Valentine</strong> vs. Darryl Devine</p><p>

Comment: <em>Valentine seems to be chasing Java so I guess he takes the win here since Devine is still pretty low on hte ladders.</em></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Jumbo Jackson</strong> vs. Freddie Datsun</p><p>

Comment: <em>Jumbo is more over and slighly younger too so I go with him.</em></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>The Titans</strong> vs. Nicky Champion and James Justice</p><p>

Comment: <em>Could go either way and to be honest I kind of expect Nicky to win this one in order to keep him strong. Still I go with real team over random pairing as Baine could use a win too after eating the pin in the title match.</em></p>

Comment: Cornellverse Tommy Dreamer pulls out the victory</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Peter Valentine</strong> vs. Darryl Devine</p><p>

Comment: <em>We all know Devine is better, and we all know Strong always sets a goal to keep Valentine looking good, which gets harder and harder every year.</em></p><p><em>

Cherry Bomb vs. Melody

Comment: As this is non title, I see Cherry Bomb picking up the win here to set up a title match.

USPW Television Title Match

Tribal Warrior defends vs. Krusher Karloff

Comment: I still think there's better options than Tribal Warrior to hold the T.V title but Krusher Karloff isn't one of them.

Atlas vs. Chris Caulfield

Comment: In a fed overloaded with monster heels Atlas is near the bottom of the pecking order.

Peter Valentine vs. Darryl Devine

Comment: Devine clearly likes the money and job security that comes with being in USPW, because his career has stagnated by being in the land of the giants. He has more talent in his pinky than Valentine has in his whole body but Valentine is Strong's special friend...so because of that he'll end up going over.

Jumbo Jackson vs. Freddie Datsun

Comment: Jumbo's higher up the card, plus he has a few more years left in the tank compared to his ageing opponent.

The Titans vs. Nicky Champion and James Justice

Comment: Champion may not have been pinned to lose the title, but he needs to bounce back from that loss by picking up the win here.

I'm absolutely fine with Faith winning the title in his first match. I've always imagined the USPW always going for the short term gain just to get attention and exposure. It will be interesting to see if this strategy can still be used now that are a big dog.</p>

USPW AMERICAN WRESTLING!

Wednesday Week 2 January 2013

Location: The Dust Bowl (South East)

Attendance: 14,183

Overall Rating: C+

TV Rating: 3.07

http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/USPW%202013/NickyChampion.jpg

[Welcome to the very best and most unpredictable show in professional wrestling: USPW American Wrestling. Danny Jillefski, Emily McQueen and Brock Cornish welcome everyone to the show. We have a brand new USPW World Heavyweight champion in Christian Faith. The crowd here in the South East region of the United States stand on their feet, some holding up signs such as 'Bulldozer? I just met her!' as 'Gonna Fly Now' begins to play and out from the back comes the former USPW World Heavyweight champion Nicky Champion! Nicky is looking better than he did last week physically. However, he has a certain intensity in his eyes as he enters the ring with a microphone in hand.]

Nicky Champion

"Last week, I lost something that is very important to me and to these fans. I lost the right to be called a champion. I lost the World title. One of the first things I would like to say right now is congratulations to Christian Faith. But I would like to add that you did not pin the champion. My shoulders did not stay down for a three count. Instead you pinned the third man in the ring: Tyson Baine. I have respect for you as a competitor, Christian, however, you did not beat the champion. You did not beat me. But as the former champion I have a rematch clause in my contract. I can exercise that rematch any time I want to. No, I am not going to exercise that rematch tonight. Instead, I want to face you one on one at..."

http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/USPW%202013/TysonBaine.jpg

[Fire EXPLODES from the turnbuckles, interrupting the rest of the words that would have been spoken by Nicky. The crowd turns their attention to the top of the ramp where Tyson Baine steps from the back. The boos rain in on Tyson as he just looks toward the ring and nowhere else. A plume of red smoke surrounds his feet as he stands there staring.]

Tyson Baine

"Two weeks ago, Nicky. Two weeks ago, I very nearly put you out of action permanently. That is exactly what I was attempting to do. However, you survived. You live on and that makes me angry. That makes me want to destroy you again and again. That makes me want to take from you the very things that you enjoy the most. So tonight I got permission from Commissioner Doom to make a match. I will pick a partner and you will pick a partner. If my team wins, I get your rematch for the USPW World title. If your team wins, you get the title shot live and on pay-per-view. But don't worry I am going to drag you down to the pits of Hell where you will remain permanently."

[Nicky looks a little concerned inside the ring and Tyson Baine gives a deep, dark and ominous laugh. We have our main event set for this evening. What a tag team encounter this should be!]

Match #1

http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/USPW%202013/CherryBomb.jpg vs. http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/USPW%202013/Melody.jpg

Cherry Bomb vs. Melody

[Our opening contest of the night is a one on one womens encounter as Cherry Bomb takes on the USPW Womens champion Melody. The match has some good action as both women put their best foot forward to open things up. Cherry Bomb brings Melody down with a plethora of suplexes early on. She scores a near fall with a bridging German Suplex. But it was not enough to put the champion away. Instead, Melody fights back with punches and she brings Cherry Bomb to the mat with a hair pull. The Womens champion proves why she is the holder of that title when she catches Cherry Bomb with the Melody Maker and makes the cover, hooking the leg: 1 -- 2 -- 3!]

Winner: Melody (Via Pinfall @ 6:53)

Match Rating: D+

[Melody stands up in celebration. She climbs the turnbuckles and raises the USPW Womens title belt high in the air, drawing in some cheers from the fans here at the Dust Bowl. As she turns back around toward the ring, she gets assaulted with a clothesline by Cherry Bomb! The crowd boos as Cherry shows herself to be a sore loser. Cherry sets Melody on the top turnbuckle and climbs up, preparing to strike Melody with a superplex when another woman comes running down the aisle at full speed.]

http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/USPW%202013/AliciaStrong.jpg

[Alicia Strong slides into the ring and pulls Cherry Bomb off the turnbuckles to the mat below. Alicia catches Cherry with several clotheslines, including a final one that sends Cherry Bomb over the top rope to the floor. Melody climbs off the turnbuckles and then she comes face to face with her rescuer. Danny Jillefski fills everyone in that at Stars, Stripes And Slams, Alicia Strong is going to get her chance to win the USPW Womens title when she faces Melody! The two women jaw off-microphone but do not come to blows.]

http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/USPW%202013/T-Rex_alt1.jpghttp://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/USPW%202013/Enygma.jpg

[We move from the ringside area to the backstage area, catching a fight in progress. T-Rex and Enygma are exchanging punches back and forth with the crowd in the background cheering on the masked former USPW World champion! Enygma dodges a punch and brings t-Rex to the ground with a sweep of his knee. Enygma goes for the Enygma Variation but referees and officials step in to break things up. Several of them grab Enygma, pulling him back. T-Rex stands and shoves the officials back, running at Enygma and throwing punches and kicks! Enygma fires back as the officials look to step back in and break things up. What a wild and chaotic scene!]

Match #2

http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/USPW%202013/TribalWarrior.jpg vs. http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/USPW%202013/KrusherKarloff.jpg

USPW Television Title Match

Tribal Warrior defends vs. Krusher Karloff

[Our second match is another defense of the USPW Television title as Tribal Warrior takes on one half of the Cold Warriors: Krusher Karloff. The crowd did not get into this contest at all, though. Instead, many used it to go to the concession stands or the bathroom. The Television champion proves his mettle, kicking out of a standing spinebuster and legdrop by Krusher. Tribal comes back with a samoan drop on the large cold warrior and then catches him with an avalanche in the corner. Tribal waits for Krusher to get to his feet -- Head Hunter Special! The Running Big Boot sends Krusher to the mat and Tribal makes the cover: 1 -- 2 -- 3!]

Winner: Tribal Warrior (Via Pinfall @ 6:12; Tribal Warrior retains the USPW Television title)

Match Rating: E+

[As Tribal Warrior celebrates his victory inside the ring, we transition to the backstage locker room area. The crowd boos in the background as it becomes obvious that we are in the locker room of the Sneer Corporation. The Towers Of Power are sitting with each other, T-Rex and Jumbo Jackson seem to be discussing something, while Shane Sneer is standing with Atlas. We focus in on the conversation between Shane Sneer and Atlas.]

Shane Sneer

"Tonight you need to get the job done for the Sneer Corporation, Atlas. Do you hear me? I want Chris Caulfield to be taken out from existence. Chris Caulfield is a hardcore schmuck and doesn't even deserve to be in the same ring with you. Tonight you're going to prove that. Gentlemen, you all know what you need to do tonight so get to it."

[The Sneer Corporation seem to nod at the plans made by Shane Sneer. Each of them move and shuffle out of the locker room as Shane Sneer waits until the end, standing with Atlas and then walking toward the door beside him. His match with Chris Caulfield is next!]

Match #3

http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/USPW%202013/Atlas.jpg w/ http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/USPW%202013/ShaneSneer.jpg vs. http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/USPW%202013/ChrisCaulfield_alt1.jpg

Atlas vs. Chris Caulfield

[Our third match of the evening and it is a solid brawl as most people would expect, though the match is rather short, lasting less than four minutes in total ring time. Chants of 'USA, USA' can be heard throughout the contest as these two men just slugged it out in the ring and out of the ring. Chris catches Atlas with a Hardcore American Clothesline that sends both of them to the floor. Shane Sneer tries to interfere but the referee stops him before he can. Back inside the ring, Atlas goes for a press slam but Chris wiggles his way free, landing behind his large opponent. Chris grabs Atlas from behind -- Danger Drop! Atlas is laid out and when Chris Caulfield makes the cover, the three count is academic.]

Winner: Chris Caulfield (Via Pinfall @ 3:32)

Match Rating: D+

http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/USPW%202013/ChristianFaith.jpg

[Following the ring clearing, the lights dim slightly and the focus is on a single headlight at the top of the ramp. After a few moments, the roaring of a motorcycle engine can be heard and down the ramp comes the brand new USPW World champion Christian Faith! He circles the ring once and then parks the motorcycle by the ramp. He shuts off the engine and slides to his feet and quickly into the ring. He raises the USPW World title belt from his waist to above his head. The crowd roars their approval for the new USPW World champion! Christian has a microphone.]

Christian Faith

"Last week, I told everyone that I would not be leaving the ring without the USPW World title. Tonight I can say that I am not a liar. Tonight I can say that I am the USPW World champion! USPW wrestling fans, let me hear it!"

[The chants ring out of 'We Have Faith' just as they did last week. The crowd is going absolutely nuts for the new champion.]

Christian Faith

"It has been many years since I held a prestigious World title. I am honored to say that this USPW ring is MY ring now. This is my yard and I am the big dog that runs this yard. Nicky Champion wants a rematch? I will take him on. Tyson Baine wants a match with me? I'm good with that too. I will be a fighting champion. I will prove myself inside this very ring."

http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/USPW%202013/SamStrong.jpg

[The crowd is surprised when 'Real American' begins to play and out comes the USPW Owner Sam Strong! The crowd stands and begins to chant 'Strong, Strong, Strong' as the owner walks right down toward the ring, giving little fanfare, which is odd for him. Christian smiles as he looks toward Sam. The owner steps into the ring and looks across toward Christian Faith.]

Sam Strong

"First of all, Christian, congratulations on winning the World title. That's quite an accomplishment. But you're right. You will prove yourself here in USPW, brother. I can guarantee you that. I am going to make you prove yourself. The next two weeks right here on American Wrestling you are going to defend that World title, brother. Your opponents are going to be wrestlers that I choose. Your opponents are going to be wrestlers who still have youth on their sides. They are going to be wrestlers who may even be more than half your age, dude."

Christian Faith

"That's fine, Sam. I have Faith. So do all these USPW Faithmakers in the crowd."

Sam Strong

"I'm not finished, brother. At Stars, Stripes And Slams, you WILL be facing either Nicky Champion or Tyson Baine. That was already stated. But to ensure that there is a clear winner, there is going to be a special guest referee. That guest referee will be none other than yours truly, brother!"

Christian Faith

"The best man will win, Sam. Thank you."

[The two men shake hands and then go eye to eye for a moment. It almost looks like they may come to blows. However, Christian just steps back and exits the ring. Will Christian Faith even make it to Stars, Stripes And Slams with the title?]

Match #4

http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/USPW%202013/PeterValentine.jpg vs. http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/USPW%202013/DarrylDevine.jpg w/ http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/USPW%202013/Seduction.jpg

Peter Valentine vs. Darryl Devine

[Another extremely short match this evening. Darryl Devine did his usual mic'ed up entrance and then he had to come face to face with Peter Valentine. Peter does a lot of showboating to the crowd during this match. He catches Darryl with a running knee lift and then poses right in front of Seduction. He points toward a sign in the crowd, nodding his head in agreeance: 'Hire More Valentines!' Peter picks Darryl up and lands a front slam for a two count. Peter goes to pick Darryl up again and Darryl rolls him into a small package for a two count. This gets Peter to really focus on the match and he scores with a Heart Breaker. He makes the cover, placing his feet on the ropes for extra leverage: 1 -- 2 -- 3!]

Winner: Peter Valentine (Via Pinfall @ 4:43)

Match Rating: D-

http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/USPW%202013/Java.jpg

[The crowd boos at the way that Peter Valentine wins the match but someone comes running down to the ring looking for revenge from last week. That someone is the USPW National champion Java! Java enters the ring and begins pelting Peter Valentine with punches! Java kicks him in the gut and tucks him in between his legs -- Power Bomb! Peter Valentine is power bombed in the center of the ring! Java steps back and looks angry, waiting for Peter to get back up. Java hits his own head a few times, perhaps preparing for the Greetings From The Island! Instead of standing, though, Peter rolls out of the ring and exits through the crowd as Java remains standing inside the ring.]

http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/USPW%202013/DCRayne.jpghttp://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/USPW%202013/EddieHoward.jpghttp://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/USPW%202013/KrusherKarloff.jpghttp://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/USPW%202013/PetrNovak.jpg

[For the first time this year we move backstage to find the USPW World Tag Team champions, Natural Storm, standing in front of the infamous USPW soda machine. DC Rayne slips a dollar into the machine and looks to make the selection when he gets bumped from behind by his partner Eddie Howard. DC turns to yell at whoever bumped him and catches a closed fist from Petr Novak! The element of surprise is in the corner of The Cold Warriors as they attack the champs, sending both members of the champions down to the floor. Novak rams DC's head into the soda machine and a soda pops out. Krusher Karloff grabs the soda and smashes the can against the head of Eddie Howard. A small bit of blood drips down the forehead of Eddie from the can shot. The Cold Warriors are definitely making a statement here as they walk away.]

Match #5

http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/USPW%202013/JumboJackson.jpg w/ http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/USPW%202013/ShaneSneer.jpg vs. http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/USPW%202013/FreddieDatsun.jpg

Jumbo Jackson vs. Freddie Datsun

[Our semi main event features two men who both need a win here at the beginning of 2013. Shane Sneer does not look happy after Atlas lost earlier tonight so he seems to be telling Jumbo Jackson to make a statement in this match. The match is pure back and forth wrestling with neither man holding back and near falls aplenty. Jumbo holds the advantage throughout the middle part of the match, hitting Freddie with moves like an atomic drop, short-arm clothesline and a powerslam for a two count. The crowd gets behind Freddie, though, powering him up for a comeback. He avoids a big boot and peppers Jumbo with rights and lefts and then a discus clothesline to bring the former Jumbo Shrimp to the mat. Freddie goes for a Boston Crab but Jumbo uses his power to push Freddie away. Freddie lands hard in the corner. Jumbo stands and charges -- Jumbo Avalanche! Freddie staggers and drops to the mat with Jumbo making the cover: 1 -- 2 -- 3!]

Winner: Jumbo Jackson (Via Pinfall @ 8:57)

Match Rating: C-

[We move backstage one more time. This time we are in the locker room of the former USPW World champion Nicky Champion. He is seated on a bench with a towel over his head, covering the recovering burn marks on his skin. The door swings open and enter Alicia Strong. Nicky looks up at her and gives a shy smile.]

Nicky Champion

"Hey Alicia. Did you find me a partner?"

Alicia Strong

"Yeah, I did. He's got a bone to pick with T-Rex. So he was eager to jump at the chance to be your partner. He'll meet you out at the ring."

Nicky Champion

"Thanks."

[Nicky stands and grabs the towel, sliding it off his face. Though he does look better physically, he's still not one hundred percent recovered from the burn mark that Tyson Baine gave him. He offers a smile toward Alicia as he walks to the door. The two stand face to face for a moment, looking as though they may finally kiss.]

Alicia Strong

"Good luck tonight."

Nicky Champion

"Thanks."

[Alicia seems to be leaning in to initiate the kiss but Nicky doesn't seem to realize it. Instead, he moves right on past her and out the door. Alicia's eyes follow him as he walks away and she can be heard releasing an audible sigh as we head to the ring.]

Match #6

http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/USPW%202013/TysonBaine.jpghttp://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/USPW%202013/T-Rex_alt1.jpg w/ http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/USPW%202013/ShaneSneer.jpg vs. http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/USPW%202013/NickyChampion.jpghttp://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/USPW%202013/Liberty.jpg

The Titans vs. Nicky Champion and James Justice

[The partner that Alicia Strong mentioned is none other than the Dude himself James Justice! The crowd goes absolutely nuts at seeing James Justice teaming up with Nicky Champion here tonight to go against The Titans. Nicky and James start things off strong against both Titans, eventually sending them both out of the ring and scrambling to regroup with Shane Sneer. Nicky and James show some quick, good tags early on as they look to wear down their opponents. The momentum, though, swings when Nicky goes for an elbow drop on Tyson Baine and Tyson moves out of the way. Tyson makes the quick tag to the Jurassic Power and T-Rex begins a domination of Nicky Champion. The former USPW World champion is kept within the corner of The Titans for several long minutes as they make quick tags in and out, keeping a fresh man in at all times. Several near falls and near submissions are made during these minutes. Tyson hooks Nicky in a bear hug, looking for that submission victory. But the crowd seems to give Nicky Champion a lot of fire and vigor! Nicky begins throwing punches to the skull of Tyson Baine. A fifth punch breaks the hold but a double clothesline sends both men to the mat. They each crawl toward their corners. Nicky gets there first and tags in James Justice! In comes T-Rex!]

[The crowd goes wild as James throws punches to both T-Rex and Tyson Baine! A Justice Big Left Hand sends Tyson to the mat! There's one for T-Rex! Nicky Champion enters the ring and we have a four person brawl! The brawl lasts only for about a minute when Nicky is sent out of the ring. Tyson and T-Rex double team James Justice, bringing him to the mat with a spiked power bomb. A cover is made by T-Rex: 1 -- 2 -- Shoulder Up! Somehow James Justice still had the strength to get that shoulder off the mat but just barely! T-Rex yanks James up by the hair and sends him to the ropes -- reversed! James catches T-Rex with a powerslam! He drops to his knees and crawls toward the corner -- tag to Nicky Champion! Nicky runs over and punches Tyson Baine off the apron! He turns his attention to T-Rex -- clothesline -- ducked! Nicky turns back -- Hawkeye Hammer! He connects with the Hawkeye Hammer on T-Rex! Nicky Champion makes the cover: 1 -- 2 -- 3!]

Winners: Nicky Champion and James Justice (Via Pinfall @ 10:43)

Match Rating: C

[it will be Nicky Champion and Christian Faith at Stars, Stripes And Slams! What a huge victory for the former champion! Outside the ring, Tyson Baine has grabbed James Justice -- ribs first into the steel guardrail! James cries out in pain! Nicky exits the ring to help his friend but gets caught by The Demon From The Deep. Tyson picks up Nicky in a bear hug and rams him back-first into the ring post and then the ring apron! He tosses Nicky Champion back into the ring and joins him. He moves to a corner -- is he gearing up for another fireball?? The lights dim and the sound of a motorcycle engine fills the air.]

http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/USPW%202013/ChristianFaith.jpg

[it's Christian Faith! The USPW World champion drives down the ramp to the ring and flies into the ring from the motorcycle! He catches Tyson Baine with a clothesline! Another one! Inverted Atomic Drop from Christian Faith! A Faith Hammer for good measure! He sends Tyson Baine to the ropes -- Leaping Side Suplex! What power shown by the USPW World champion! T-Rex is already outside the ring with Shane Sneer. Christian rolls Tyson Baine out there with T-Rex and then turns and comes face to face with his top challenger. The two men stare each other down with Nicky making a 'belt' motion at his waist. Christian smirks and the show ends with the two men staring at each other.]

I haven't done a lot of responding the last few days so I thought I'd get some conversation going in here.

Fun Fan Signs: None for this card. Might edit this to add my own, but great idea!

The Fun Fan Signs are something that I started doing a long while back. They are a fun way to get some reader interaction and see some great creativity from people. We've even had people do their predictions as in-game 'fans' of USPW. For example, Tigerkinney had a father/son redneck duo that was fun to read. :)

Comment: We all know Devine is better, and we all know Strong always sets a goal to keep Valentine looking good, which gets harder and harder every year.

Just as an aside here, I am working with Owner Goals off for the present. But I do want to make things as realistic as possible, thus the win for Sam Strong's best friend.

Redwood making trouble this early ? That's what too convenient, I call foul play ! ;)

I'm absolutely fine with Faith winning the title in his first match. I've always imagined the USPW always going for the short term gain just to get attention and exposure. It will be interesting to see if this strategy can still be used now that are a big dog.

It was definitely a lucky break with Redwood making trouble early on. He now has a dislike relationship with both my user character (Christian Faith) and Corporal Doom, the man he argued with. But maybe Christian set up the fight a little bit. I'll never tell. ;)

And I agree about the short-term gain. As I've stated in a backstage post, a lot of wrestlers have come in to USPW and won the big belt within a couple of months of their arrival. But what happens now? You'll have to tune in and find out. :)

Peter Valentine vs. Darryl Devine

Comment: Devine is awful, Valentine rocks.

Fun Fan Signs: Hire More Valentines!

I knew you would appreciate the Peter Valentine win and his storyline with Java over the USPW National title. Peter's biggest fan right here. :)

Non Title Match

Cherry Bomb vs. Melody

Comment: Usually I'd go with Cherry but I can see you going with Melody vs Gorgon as your first feud. She is conspicuously absent so far.

Gorgon has been absent so far but I do have future plans for her. What those plans are and where they begin? Well, tune in and find out.

Thank you to everyone who made their predictions! I read them all and the comments and the fan signs. :) They really do make my day and make my writing all that much easier. It is a reason that I love these GDS boards so much! I love the instant fan and reader interaction.

Aw, darn it. Devine failed to pull off the killer upset. But seeing that you've got owner goals on, I guess I know better now when to predict an upset. Awesome show, though! :D

What I have planned for Devine next week, I think, is going to be fun to write out. I will say that. And I am playing with Owner Goals off, not on. ;) But I'm glad you enjoyed the show. Out of the first two shows have you (or anyone else) gotten any favorite characters that I've written out?

Oops, my bad. Eyesight failing me again. :o Anyway, I'd say I'm enjoying the three-way feud for the World Heavyweight title the most.

Am glad you're enjoying the three way feud for the World Heavyweight title. It has been a lot of fun to write so far.

Alright, now, let me let everyone know where I am right now with this diary. I was going by the expectation that for Christmas I would be receiving TEW 13 from one of my loved ones. Unfortunately, this did not come to pass. So right now I am trapped within the one month limbo of TEW 13's trial version until I can get some money to pay for the new edition. This, of course, has taken some of the wind out of my sails to say the least. But it happens. So this diary can be considered under hiatus until I get the actual full game.
