SWF: Where Men Become LEGENDS

Recommended Posts

E-V My Brother,

I first read your post last night but was unable to get on to make a comment until now. So I've had a lot of time to think about exactly what I was going to say and whether this should go to a pm or be posted here on the board. You and I have had a long-standing friendship and we have gone through a lot together here on the board. We have both talked about looking to find our voice, to find exactly what we needed to do here to get a diary to last past a year. You have definitely found that voice here with your favorite promotion in SWF.

I know without a shadow of a doubt that you have been looking to make an epic, a novel with the Supreme Wrestling Federation. It is something that, as you said, has stuck with you since your beginnings here in the forum. I can say that you have done that. You have, in my eyes, done what you've set out to do. Your title says that SWF is where Men Become LEGENDS. That is what you have done here on this board. You have gone from a man, from a regular diary writer to a Hall of Famer to a LEGEND. I am very proud of you my friend, my brother from another mother. Whether you write one more show, two more shows or zero more shows, your name will always live as a LEGEND here on these diary forums. You have earned it.

On paper, a great pay-off to most of the on-going storylines you had, and it's a shame we won't see them pan out in full. Eric Eisen saving the SWF would've been amazing story-wise, though a cynical smark would argue that there are more deserving wrestlers then Eisen when it comes to being the man. Meanwhile, that Gilmore vs Money match you had planned down the pipeline could've potentially gotten a A* rating in-game considering the popularity levels you'd built them both up to. An A* rating from me too, since Gilmore would've finally gotten the world title his talents deserve, and I'm not even peeved about him being a transitional champion because he would still go gown as SWF's first ever Triple Crown champion.

So you were pushing Valiant all along! SWERVE! I'd like to point out that in my opinion, he needed more than just the one victory over Des Davids for it to feel like he had won the feud and moved on to bigger things, both figuratively and literally. Such a shame that we were only 3 months away from seeing Khoklov actually lose.

Randy Bumfhole was turning heel? DOUBLE SWERVE! Though I should've seen it coming based on his surname :p. What happens to Hannah after the heel turn though?

For that matter, what became of Bruce vs Frehley after Frehley got hold of the mask? And what about the Underground storylines, who beats Hammer for the belt, and does Matthew Keith eventually beat the old guard of Roberts and Train? Which of the lower-card workers were you planning on pushing up the card? So many questions...

Unfortunately I've never quite found the time to sit through this and read more than a handful of the shows - not because they're not enjoyable, but simply because I don't always find it easy to read so much text on a screen in one sitting. That said, the level of shows that I have read has been absolutely fantastic, and this is your best work yet (and that's saying something). Certainly, if you had to pick a diary to bow out on then this would be something you could proudly looking back on as a fitting finale.

Even if you don't run another diary, I hope you'll stick around. I'm not the only one to have benefitted from your insight and support, and I'm sure I'll not be the last!

<p>You have no idea how much joy your responses bring me. As I was talking to another friend on the boards here, it’s great to know that my creative outlet meant something to others and not just me. Without your support/feedback/comments, it would have been me and the computer; that’s it. While I still would have found a sense of fun in the writing process, it certainly would not have lasted this long. </p><p> </p><p> I’ve made a lot of great friends on here & hope to still interact with them as we go forward. I can’t imagine not doing so.</p><p> </p><p> For those who feel there could be a chance at an SWF return, I’m sorry but that’s not my vision for the future. This project, as amazing as it was for me, has come to its true end. While I could see myself writing a lessened results-layout in another project down the road (much like my underground shows but for everything), I simply could not employ that sort of writing style to a project that already started with so much depth. It would feel like I was cheapening it and I can’t do that. </p><p> </p><p> I must admit, there’s always the chance of a more simple dynasty; however, as I’ve said before, I’d have to become comfortable with writing shows that aren’t as robust as what I have now. I don’t know if I could really do that? If I don’t think it’s something I could do then I know this was my last project. If for some reason it DOES seem realistic, then there could be another one down the road. That said, I wouldn’t expect it. My life as a teacher will be a consuming endeavor (one that I freely accept and look forward to). My mental bandwidth will be better served (at great depth) there & not in something that, frankly, doesn’t “pay the bills”. Ha. Honestly, If I could make money off of writing these things, make a career of it, possibly book real companies then there would be a challenge there (as it’d be hard NOT to). That said, that’s not possible and I’m quite happy, if not insanely excited, to start my life as an educator. </p><p> </p><p> Now, onto some Underground thoughts… </p><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="34928" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><strong>[The man to beat Hammer for the Underground Championship]</strong></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> It was always going to be Tank. I actually had Hammer break Tank’s streak, with Huntingdon’s help, in which to add more fuel to the fire down the road. After that loss, Tank was going to go back on another win streak; this time beating bigger names than before. In the end, he would beat Hammer for the belt and become the new Underground Champion.</div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><strong>[Emma’s Faction vs. King Swoop]</strong></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> I’ve been wanting to turn King Swoop heel for awhile now; however, was unable to as his last turn was too recent. The plan was to have King turn & verbally attack Emma Extreme; saying that HE’s more Underground than she will EVER be (being the voice of the ‘company’). King would align with Hammer, Paul Huntingdon, and most likely would add someone like Kurt Laramee to the fold as well (wasn’t sold on if he would join them or not though). From there, Emma would find a number of allies of her own as Hardcore Havok, Tank, and Matthew Keith (plus an ally of Keith’s to be addressed further down the page) in which to combat the growing heel group. It wouldn’t be for “control of the company”; no stips would be put up. In this vein, King Swoop would feel like he already OWNS the place anyways; citing his voice, likeness, and personality fits the show better than Emma’s. In the end though, Emma’s team would win out. From there, Swoop would most likely step away from the commentary desk at that point and either A) function as a manager to raise up his overness some more OR B) turn him into a full-fledged wrestler at that time.</div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><strong>[Matthew Keith overcomes the Old Guard w/ help from his brother]</strong></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> I JUST signed Greg Keith to the SWF and was planning on having Matthew go over the “Old Guard” with help from his brother. While Matthew would eventually get his singles win over Enforcer Roberts (as that’s necessary), it would also string along a few tag team matches between the two sides (pulling Runaway Train back into the ring).</div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><strong>[Kill Switch goes to SupremeTV]</strong></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> Despite being the defining figure in Underground, I was planning on having Kill Switch become a member of the SupremeTV roster by the end of the year. I didn’t have any insane plans for the guy; however, was looking into working a storyline with John Greed (opposite one another). There was a chance that it could be the other-end though; having Kill Switch turn heel and form with Greed. That said, it would have taken some heavy-lifting storyline wise to then have Switch stand alongside Carnage (the guy who destroyed him).</div></div></div></blockquote>

<p>This is terrible news to start the day... and after reading the short stories that were coming up, I know we were missing out on a lot of stuff!</p><p> </p><p>

I understand the decision though, writing such massive shows takes a lot out of a man. </p><p> </p><p>

I'm left with a few questions which I hope get answered:</p><p> </p><p>

Just like overthetop2 I was wondering about the aftermath of Frehley and Bruce, after he has gotten Vengeance's mask.</p><p> </p><p>

I'd also like to know the reasoning behind taking Khoklov off the screen and 'back to Russia'</p>

<p>I'm not entirely sure if I have ever posted in this thread, but I will say that I ALWAYS read it.</p><p> </p><p>

In my mind, when I think of the phrase "TEW Dynasty," I think of "Where Men Become LEGENDS."</p><p> </p><p>

You, sir, have truly become a legend. Congratulations and best of luck on the next stage of your life.</p><p> </p><p>

Now can someone please PDF this thing? <img alt=";)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/wink.png.686f06e511ee1fbf6bdc7d82f6831e53.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p>

<p>Seriously guys, thank you <strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">so</span></strong> much for your kind words. <img alt=":)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /> I'm humbled by your responses. </p><p> </p><p>

<strong>SIDE NOTE:</strong> I had to bring it up. Since leaving the SWF, they did not renew SupremeTV (and that's not my fault; all computer). So, right now, the SWF ONLY has Underground (and most of the big names don't show up there because they don't work B-shows). Pretty crazy.</p><p> </p><p>

Also, the November PPV had Sean Martyn challenge Rich Money for the SWF World Heavyweight Championship. He lost though.</p>

<p><span style="color:#4B0082;">I'm fashionably late to the party as usual, but I'll chime in to say how enjoyable your SWF has been. The quality has been top notch both in the writing and in the classy, game changing idesign of the graphics. The twists and turns in the story were alot of fun to follow. You were even nice enough to answer my silly questions.</span><img alt=":)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p><span style="color:#4B0082;"> </span></p><p><span style="color:#4B0082;">

Well done!</span></p>

We talked about how the event could be a yearly occurrence where the NA Champion gets a shot at the WHC. I really loved the concept and how it was a unique approach. Sadly, we couldn't see it happen.</p><p> </p><p> My plan was to have Atomic push Money to the brink but ultimately lose due to interference from Jay Chord. This would setup a NA title match between the two in December (where Jay would win the NA belt).</p>
