Tidal booking is the future...... maybe you should bring back the Honorbound concept as well.. X vs Fox? I can smell the ratings!

I think Cougar/Keith could be a MOTY Candidate... and I also think that the Reign of Cougar could last until 2016..

GSW is trying to spread rumors about us. Like most things they do, they failed.

PWMAX made offers to Frankie-Boy, Frantic Ali, Jonnie Perez, and Remmy Skye. All were rejected -- the advantage to having bad negotiating skills means my guys get paid more here than anywhere else, so they want to stick around. The next day they made offers to Waylon Walls, Miguel Rivera, Jackpot Jordan, and Carlos Barerra. Those offers failed as well.

November 2014, week 2

CZCW Thankskilling

Gorski Ballroom

We open with Tome defeating Ota in a good match (C ). Matt Keith comes out to announce he’s rested up and in the main event (D+). Fox and Kit get a win over the thrown-together team of Brd Peverell and Moroi (D).

I defend the Xtreme Title against Babau, and I drag a decent match out of him before retaining (C-). Frankie Perez gets a victory over Donnie J, and... wait, I booked Frankie to win? Huh. Coulda sworn I wanted Donnie to win. Ah, well. Good match (C ). We then get a break as Bret Starr and Jackpot Jordan defeat Going Coastal (D).

Your main event title matches are Warehouse Brothers retaining against Monkey-Skye in great match (C+) and then the Cougar/Keith matchup which, as I expected, adds to Cougar’s MOTY list as he retains and continues to show off for the rest of the company (B-).

Show rating: B- (!!!!!)

Tickets sold: 3,564

Opposing show: GSW There Can Be Only One (C-)

Starr is getting the entire locker room upset at him. I’ve yelled, I’ve threatened, I’ve tried to be reasonable... but the kid can perform, that’s for damn sure. So... he’s the new Acid. We’ll job him out until he decides to leave.

November 2014, week 2

CZCW MAX

Gorski Ballroom

We open the show with a Tag Title match, as The Warehouse Brothers defeat The Night Terrors in what turned out to be a good match -- but the Terrors almost seem to be getting worse (C ). Hell Monkey defeats Kit, and Kit still isn’t learning much (D).

Remmy Skye defeats Fox Mask in a good match (C ), then Brad Peverell punches his way to a victory over Donnie J (D+). Jackpot Jordan gets a surprise rollup victory over Fumihiro Ota (D), and the Perez Boys defeat CLM and Rivera, which may be the strangest thrown-together team I’ve done for a while (D+).

I retain the Xtreme Title over Bret Starr, and it’s... not as good as I was expecting from him, but I think someone told him about that “The new Acid” comment (C-). Finally, the main event is Cougar vs Toma, and while not as good as their recent efforts, it’s still a contender for the top-ten list for the year. Cougar retains, and I find myself wondering... has he peaked? (C+)

Show rating: C+

Tickets sold: 3,552

Opposing show: PWMAX Evil That Men Do (C )

We decide to make an offer to PWMAX and GSW star Mobstar. He’s been main eventing for both of them lately, so... well, why not? We can find a place for a brawler. He can fight Peverell for a while.

Matt Keith is singled out by some vets as the future of the industry. Well... duh. He’s a freakin ‘ Keith.

November 2014, week 3

CZCW Showdown at Sundown

Gorski Ballroom

We open with Donnie J going over Fumihiro Ota, and two years ago this would have been great. Now, it’s just sort of decent (C-). We introduce Mobstar with a win over Fox Mask... and now we see just why GSW and PWMAX were using him as a main eventer. He fit in perfectly and looked great (C+).

We move on to The Warehouse Brothers retaining over Starr and Jackpot, and it’s another great match (C+). Keith and Parker defeat The Night Terrors for a bit of a break (C-), and then a random six-man match sees Brad Peverell join Monkey-Skye to defeat Jonnie Perez and Wall of Waves (D). And then, our bathroom break sees Kit defeat California Love Machine (E+).

OUr sub-main has Frankie Perez defeat Kid Toma in a great match (C+), and then we have a rare non-title main event as Cougar and I square off. Yes, again, another in a long list of great matches for both of us -- if there had been a title on the line, this would have been match of the year, hands down. (C+).

Show rating: C+

Tickets sold: 3,343

Opposing show: IPW Death To All (C )

On the next Coastal Zone: You haven't even begun to see the best of the year yet, and we only have one month left!

IPW had elevated two new talents to main event; Darryl Devine and The Masked Stranger. Well, Stranger wasn’t ‘new’ to IPW, but still. We debated stealing them, but no... we’re doing fine for now.

We renew CLM’s contract. ‘cause he’s a decent jobber and I might need to try and revive his tag team if I ever lose... three or four of my current teams.

We... apparently weren’t even part of the regional battle this month. I assume that means we did good.

December 2014, week 1

CZCW Decembrawl

Gorski Ballroom

Bret Starr was playing pranks backstage and pissing people off. He’s pushing my buttons now... I tell him he’s on his last chance. I don’t fire him outright because I want to job him tonight. In fact, tonight is a ‘loaded to the gills’ show that I’m hoping really blows the crowd away ‘cause it’s December and I want to end the year right.

So, we open with a Tag Team Title match between the Warehouse Brothers and Monkey-Skye. I expect a good match with the Brothers retaining. Instead, I get an awesome match with the Brothers retaining. I pencil them into the Match Of The Year contendership list and hope my packed-solid card didn’t just get upstaged (B-).

Our next match has The Night Terrors defeat Going Coastal, and you can feel the audience deflate (D-). We try to wake them up a bit with Fox and Kit losing to Zone Future, and it works, but the crowd is still in a bad mood from that swing (C-). Brad Peverell goes over Fumihiro Ota, and the audience doesn’t care (D-). This isn’t going nearly as well as I’d hoped...

Hollywood Bret Starr jobs to Kid Toma, and the crowd struggles to defeat apathy (C-). Donnie J and Jackpot Jordan defeat Notorious, and I’m fairly sure at this point I’ve lost the crowd (D).

I defend the Xtreme Title against Mobstar, and in an effort to take advantage of his early momentum, I pass the title on to him after a fairly good match (C ). Finally, the main event: Masked Cougar vs Frankie Perez. The crowd wakes up for this one, and their on their feet at the end of it... especially when we crown a new champion in P-Dawg (B-).

Show rating: C+

Tickets sold: 3,690

Opposing show: GSW Goin’ Crazy (C-)

Well, that got much better at the end. And now that I don’t have the Xtreme title, I’m free to interject myself into bigger affairs.

On the next Coastal Zone: Time to shake things up a bit! With two new singles champions, will we also have new tag champions? With two shows left, will we end the year on a high note? And not only will we remember to book cage matches for Christmas Cage Chaos, we'll invent a whole new gimmick match!

December 2014, week 4

CZCW Christmas Cage Chaos

Gorski Ballroom

Gotta remember to book cage matches this time... Annnd Frankie’s working elsewhere tonight. Huh. Somehow, I forgot to check for that.

Short show tonight... but I think it’ll be a good one. We’re inventing a new match.

We open with Mobstar defending the Xtreme Title in a cage match against the visiting Mean Jean Cattley. It’s not what we were hoping for, and Mobstar may have been one of those ‘Does really well in his first match’ types (C-). We follow it with CLM defeating Bret Starr (D+), The Night Terrors defeating Fox and Kit (D+), and Jackpot Jordan defeats Jonnie Perez (D-).

… wow, I hope my main events are good enough to fix this show.

We do a six-man match for the #1 Contendership between me, Donnie, Ota, Cougar, Peverell, and Toma. We do well, the crowd is a bit bored by now, but we manage to wake them up with a good match that names Peverell as our new #1 Contender (C ). And for our main event, it’s out new match: It’s a Caged Ladder Match. I know, it needs a better name. It’s a ladder match with a cage around the ring, so you can ignore the ladder and climb the cage to try and get the belt. Belts, in this case. It’s a tag title match between The Warehouse Brothers, Monkey-Skye, and Zone Future. It’s a Zone classic; a new, unique gimmick and three teams willing to take advantage of that uniqueness. In the end, Keith and Skye are fighting on the ladder as Ali and Fro climb the cage; Ali does a huge missile dropkick knocking down the ladder, and Fro leaps for the belts, managing to detatch them before falling to win (B-).

Well. That turned around at the end there, didn’t it? Good.

Decembet 2014, Week 4

CZCW Year In Review

Gorski Ballroom

We open with six-man action as Fox, Kit, and Cougar defeat Donnie, Jackpot, and Toma (C-). Notorious defeats Going Coastal (D), and then Mobstar retains the Xtreme Title over Bret Starr, who... basicly refused to go anywhere near the ladder, ropes, or turnbuckles (D+).

We pick things up a bit with Steve Parker defeating Hell Monkey (C+), myself beating Remmy Skye (C-), and and the Warehouse Brothers losing the Tag Team Titles to the Night Terrors (C ).

Yes, they don’t work well as a team, and we just gave them the belts. I want to use Ali and Fro as singles guys next year.

Matt Keith defeats Fumihiro Ota in a good match (C ), and we finish the night with P-Dawg vs Peverell, and these two justify my faith in putting this match as the last one of the year, as it’s awesome and leaves the crowd feeling good. Frankie retains, Peverell looks good, and I’m thinking P-Dawg vs Ali and P-Dawg vs Fro will both be fun matches (B-).

So, we end 2014 with a fresh champion, several midcarders ready to do singles matches, Bret Starr being a pain in the ass, and me trying to juggle people’s momentum enough to have more than one legitimate challenger at a time...

… ANOTHER ONE??? ELITE Pro Wrestling has opened in the Southwest and begun making offers to some of our guys. Y’know... if we’re at war with IPW and GSW, we sure as hell aren’t going to let our guys work for a company that cameos them in pornos.

Why not? We have three wars going, why not one more? It’s not like they’re at our size or not. And they immediately try to tempt away half the roster, failing with all of them. Now, to book the first show of the ye--

What do you mean, Matthew Keith is leaving tomorrow??? … WLW made him a written offer? Well. Dammit all to hell, then. At least I still have Parker.

… maybe I should consider not pissing off Bret Starr so much... we may need him.

.. and the day after he leaves us, Matt Keith breaks his nose. No, I didn’t pay off his opponent...

January 2015, week 2

CZCW Revolution

Gorski Ballroom

We open with an Xtreme Title match as Mobstar defends against Fro Sure. We expect a good match from these two given their history in the warehouse circuit, and they prove usright, putting on a good match that sees Mobstar retain (C ). After that, the rag-tag team of Steven Parker and Remmy Skye defeat Going Coastal because... well... we had nothing else for them to do tonight (D+).

Frantic Ali gets a win over Fumihiro Ota (C ). Fro Sure complains, asking why he didn’t get the push. I tell him to wait and have faith. We get a Tag Title defense as The Night Terrors defeats Fox and Kit when the superheroes have some communication issues (C ). The two argue afterwards, and Fox reaches for Kit’s mask, but Kit stops him and then walks away (D+).

I team up with Bret Starr to defeat Brad Peverell and Jackpot Jordan (D+). One of these teams shows great chemistry, the other shows horrible chemistry. Hint: It’s impossible for me to hve bad chemistry with someone. For a bathroom break, Jonnie Perez beats Waylon Walls (E-).

Your sub-main has Masked Cougar defeating Hell Monkey (What, you thought I’d start jobbing him?) (C ), and then the CZCW Title Triple Threat pits P-Dawg vs Donnie J vs Kid Toma. We finish our first show off right, yet another slam-bang match with P-Dawg retaining and showing he can be every bit as good as Masked Cougar (B-).

Show rating: C+

Tickets sold: 3,667

Opposing show: PWMAX Exil Wound (C )

Another C? Screw it. I make an offer to Air Attack Weasel. I’d rather he put on D+s for us than Cs for them.

January 2015, week 2, still

CZCW Trauma Center

Gorski Ballroom

As is becoming tradition, Mobstar opens the shop defending the Xtreme Title, this time agaisnt Brad Peverell. It’s yet another good match, and yet another successful defense, but we’re starting to see what the competition saw in Mobstar here. (C ). We follow it with a triangle tag match, the team of Jackpot and Starr facing Notorious and Going Coastal. If you can’t guess who wins, you haven’t been paying attention (D-).

We get a tag match as apparently-former partners colide; Kit teams with Fumihiro Ota to face Fox Mask and a Zone-welcomed Ait Attack Weasel. However, Weasel’s attempt to pull off a Loose Cannon gimmick flopped amazingly bad, and the match suffered for it, despite Fox and Weasel winning (D+). We follow with another tag match, The Warehouse Brothers defeating Cougar and Toma (C ) and then a Tag Title match, The Night Terrors retaining over Monkey-Skye... and damn, I think I mis-scheduled this into the ‘bathroom break’ spot. Too bad, because it’s a hell of a match (B-).

Yeap, I did. I’d hate to be the guy to follow that ma... what, I’m following that match? Oh, crap. Me and Donnie J try to top that, but hey, I can’t work miracles when I’m working with a guy like Donnie. I do my best, but hey, even with me winning, we can’t get the crowd back (C-). And for your main event, it’s P-Dawg vs Steven Parker, and they manage to draw the crowd back in. Frankie gets the victory, but to be able to pull off a match of the quality we’ve been expecting from him after all that was impressive (B-)

Show rating: C+

Tickets sold: 3,740

Opposing show: GSW Pushing The Limits (D+), ELITE Retribution (D-)

After that show, I’m starting to run into some morale issue backstage. I shrug and tell everyone, “Look. I’ve been in charge two years now. I’ve multiplied our finances by a factor of five. I was going to wait until Welcome to the Coastal Zone... but everyone gets a cut now.” -That- is how you get loyalty in this business... you buy it.

On the next Coastal Zone: ... no idea. Seriously. I'm out of simmed shows. There might not be a post tomorrow unless I get a chance to play tonight. Um... we have an idea for a new concept match, I finally have enough popularity that I qualify as an upper-carder, and with his tag team dissolved, will Fox Mask make a run for the CZCW Title? ... okay, the answer to that one is 'probably not'...

GSW is bringing in... Puerto Rican Power. Um... okay? That’s the best they could do?

January 2015, week 4

CZCW Resolute

Gorski Ballroom

So, between Pee-Wee running a video game tournament, The Guru doing impressions, CLM bringing in booze, and a series of great shows, we’ve achieved a Perfectly Harmonious backstage atmosphere... even despite Bret Starr.

We open with a tag team match as Brad Peverell and Steven Parker face Masked Cougar and Hell Monkey. I figured it would be a decent enough match to open the show... and instead, they put on a now-Zone-typical “Setting the bar waaaaaaay too high” match, with Cougar and Monkey winning (B-).

Someone -has- to follow that, so... The Night Terrors retain the Tag Titles over Notorious. It’s... well, it had to follow -that-. (D-).

After that, Frantic Ali defeats Air Attack Weasel (C-) and Fro Sure takes out CLM (D). Then, a triple-threat contenders match between Fox Mask, Donnie J, and Fumihiro Ota ends with Ota getting the victory and the title shot (C ).

After that, we get an Xtreme defense as Mobstar faces Kit. Kit sucks without a partner. The match sucks. (D). Then we get a random tag match between Hollywood and Jackpot taking on Wall of Waves, and you’d -think- Hollywood and Jackpo tcould actually carry them to a half-decent match... but if you thought that, you’d be wrong (E+).

The match is so bad that me vs Kid Toma, again, is far sub-par; I win, but the crowd is still recovering from that piece of crap match. (D+). Finally, our main event is Frankie Perez defending the CZCW Title against Remmy Skye; turns out these two have no chemistry and the match is the worst main event we’ve had in a long time. Perez retains, but Skye is definatel goin back to the tag ranks (C ).

Show rating: C-

Tickets sold: 3,868

Opposing shows: IPW Defiance (C-)

We were bound to have a bad show eventually. Or maybe I shouldn't try playing the game after midnight.

Okay, I wasn't able to get anything simmed last night, and tonight is looking iffy too, due to having to prepare for a multiple-days-with-below-zero-highs shopping trip.

So, we're doing some rare reader participation.

I need three contenders to face Masked Cougar in a four-way new-gimmick-match match. What contendership matches do you want me to hold?

Masked Cougar vs... Waylon Walls, Kit and Air Attack Weasel. (Walls may be swapped for some other animal named wrestler if required... but not Fox Mask.)

More semi-realistically...

Cougar vs... Toma, Hello Monkey (which would a great new mask and gimmick for him) and Frantic Ali.

Yeah, like that's ever gonna happen with Citizen X in charge so on a more serious note... Steven Parker vs. Donnie J is my suggestion.

Btw, what happened to Mikey James? Is he still on the roster? I don't remember seeing him on the show for a while now...

December 2013's writeup says he got hired by TCW. His last match with us was losing in a six-man match.

And it's been decided, our contendership matches will be Fro Sure vs Hell Monkey, Steven Parker vs Donnie J, and Citizen X vs Fox Mask.

... and we'll steal that three-man-team idea for some other time.

<p>And now, an interview with Citizen X that appeared on TEW.com.</p><p> </p><p>

<em>(Screw you, I haven't had a chance to play, so I'm out of simmed shows. I'm working on it.)</em></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>So, it's been two years since your hostile takeover of CZCW. How do--</strong></p><p> </p><p>

"Two years, one month. And I wouldn't call it a hostile takeover. More like a legal carjacking."</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Fair enough. How do you think things have gone?</strong></p><p> </p><p>

"We're making huge strides in regaining our former popularity. Financially, we've never been stronger. From the roster standpoint, we've brought in some fresh young talent that can hold their own with our veterans. And despite the level of competition here, we're still far and away the best promotion to watch. So I'd say things have gone according to plan."</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Let's start with that thought -- competition. GSW, IPW, PWMAX, ELITE, some would say AAA. How has the competition changed the Coastal Zone?</strong></p><p> </p><p>

"Well, when I first came back, we weren't worried about most of those. My main focus was on IPW and GSW. Two fairly worthless promotions... I don't mean to sound racist, but urban hardcore brawling is such a throwback of an idea. The fans deserve better than that. So I decided to give them a place where they could see hardcore brawling... but without the 'urban' trappings. With some comedy instead of 'gangsta'. With some high-flying instead of threats of gunplay. And looking at our ticket sales, I'd say we made our point."</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Some fans of the 'Warehouse Style' accuse you of poaching their top talent.</strong></p><p> </p><p>

"That's ********. Nobody in this buisness 'poaches' anybody. There's only two reasons you stop working for a company: They don't want you, or you don't want them. Look at Frantic Ali and Fro Sure. They could have stayed in the warehouse district, maybe been champions there, for a long time. But they didn't want to be there. So they're here now. Nice run as tag team champions, and now they're primed for bigger things. And one day, if SWF or TCW comes for them and makes them an offer, I won't say some bullcrap like 'Oh, they got poached'. I'll say 'They do not want to be here anymore'."</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>And that applies to everyone on your roster? There've been rumors--</strong></p><p> </p><p>

"Look, everyone on the roster is on the roster, get it? If they don't want to be here, they can leave. If I don't want them here, they get told to leave. Everyone on the roster right now is someone I want here and someone who wants to be here. I don't coddle people. I don't baby them. I expect them to do their damn jobs. And in return, I pay well. People get paid to do things they don't want to do all the time; they're called real jobs."</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Switching tracks now, some say that the Coastal Zone is stagnating creatively. You've introduced one new concept match in the last two years, and that instantly criticized as "They just put a cage around a ladder match."</strong></p><p> </p><p>

"******* Internet Smarks. Yeah, it was just a cage around a ladder match. But you saw some spots you'd never seen before, right? Just because it's not a custom-made wrought-iron fence with hidden trapdoors and water cannons filled with baby oil doesn't mean it's not new and exciting. They'll probably complain about the new one we've got coming up, too. I'm calling it a Spoiler Match. Four man elimination match with a twist. If you're pinned or submitted, you're still in the match; you just can't win. Last man not pinned or submitted wins. So if you lose, you can still be a spoiler for the other guys in the math. I think we'll see some interesting alliances form over the course of it."</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Any other future plans you want to give us a peek at?</strong></p><p> </p><p>

"Sure. I've been feeling nostalgic, so I'm thinking of bringing back the Triangle Tournament. Three three-way matches, with the winners facing to see who wins the tournament. Heck, maybe even three-way matches to fill those first three matches. We haven't used a lot of the talent our alliance partners have available for us to borrow; we may use some more in the future. Someone new for the younger guys to learn from."</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Wel, thank yo--</strong></p><p> </p><p>

"Oh, and maybe a new belt. Just, you know, kicking that around still."</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>I see. Thank you for your time, Citizen X.</strong></p>

A moment of silence, please, for the legendary George DeColt, dead at the age of 71.

Kit has been with us for almost two years now. he’s not learning enough to be used as a singles guy, and he’s old enough that by the time he does learn how to be a singles guy, he’ll need two artificial hips. Sorry to say, he’s gone. I consider letting Walls and Waves go, but they’re dirt-cheap and if I ever get around to trying to push Notorious, I’ll need a jobber team.

February 2015, week 1

CZCW Vendetta

Your opening match is the first Spoiler Contendership match, between Fro Sure and Hell Monkey. It is, as expected, a very good match; not a great one, but very good, and hopefully winning this will stop Fro Sure from bitching about how I’m using him. I know what I said in that interview, but let’s face it... I don’t want a reputation (C+). Going Coastal defeats Wall of Waves in a poor match to remind people of how bad we can suck if we try (E+), and then our second Spoiler Contendership match sees me defeat Fox Mask. What, you thought I wouldn’t dare? (C ).

And in our final Spoiler Contendership match, Donnie J and Steven Parker go almost twenty minutes before Donnie gets the hard-fought win (C+). Kid Toma defeats Fumihiro Ota (C-), and then Hollywood Bret Star defeats Miguel Rivera (D-). Air Attack Weasel and Frantic Ali meet again, this time with Weasel going over (C-), Brad Peverell wipes the mat with Jonnie Perez (D), and Jackpot Jordan beats up Carlos Barerra (D-).

Masked Cougar gets a win over last week’s challenge Remmy Skye (C+), and then our main event is an Every Champion match, as P-Dawg and Mobstar team to defeat the Night Terrors in a good matchup (C+).
