Hope everyone is enjoying the New Year! Just wanted to pop in and say that the next show will be up sometime between tomorrow and Thursday.

Also, I noticed that only a couple of you guys were answering the USPWInteractive questions. Do you guys just not like the questions I had this week or do you guys just not like them in general?

Thumbs up. Will be following this.

I really enjoyed that first show, foolinc! Very easy to read, and easy to digest which is something I really look out for in a diary at the moment. I'll be reading :)

Thanks for the complement! I can't wait to disappoint you! ;)

My only thought would be that these 2 particular questions are rather vague. The answers could be literally anything. Perhaps a more focused question would get more results. Not necessarily multiple choice, but "Who on the roster...?" or "What stipulation will be chosen for...".

I love the concept on adding questions beyond match winners though. Particularly in a promotion that isn't just about matches.

I like the questions... I just don't have a good answer for them :(

Thanks for the feedback. I guess the questions this week was too vague, especially considering it's the second show.

As far as show goes, I kind of double booked myself tonight and as such won't be able to post the show up until tomorrow (might be Saturday morning depending on the time zone ;)). I really should have known better than to announce the time of the posting of a show before I was close to the proofing stage. My life is a lot busier than it used to be! :)

Now it's time to get back to work, the kind you get paid for.

I just realised that I haven't posted in here at all yet, had meant to post but some how I haven't. D'oh! Obviously I can't post actual predictions, so I'm just gonna say that I've enjoyed things so far and that I'm gonna post some silliness instead. :p

#USPWInteractive: What is Sam Strong's major announcement? He's coming out of the closet and Alicia is adopted!

#USPWInteractive: What is Shane Sneer's major announcement? He's Alicia's real dad! :p

Freddie Datsun & Jack Griffith vs. The Towers of Power

In a match that had some good action but not much in the way of heat, The Towers Of Power defeated Freddie Datsun and Jack Griffith in 9:32 when Mick Muscles defeated Jack Griffith by pinfall with a Bulldozer Powerbomb. During the match we also had Giant Redwood run in and attack Datsun.

Rating: C

Match Notes: While not being the man he used to be, Jack Griffith didn’t look out of place in this match and held his own against Mick and Danny and was able to get the crowd somewhat invested in the match. We also saw the continuation of the feud between Redwood and Datsun when Redwood took Freddie out of the match by throwing him into one of the turnbuckles.

Backstage Segment

After the opening tag team match, we are taken to the back where we find Tyson Baine and T-Rex. Baine is front and center hold a microphone in one hand and the USPW World title in the other, while the ever menacing T-Rex is standing up against the wall looking annoyed that he's forced to be there.

Baine, looking at the title, tells us that his path of destruction will start at the top of USPW, Nicky Champion. Baine tells Nicky that he should consider himself lucky as he will only have to feel the pain of his own destruction, while the world will have to watch their white knight in shining armor crumble before their eyes.

Jumbo Jackson vs. Running Wolf

In an extremely short match, Jumbo Jackson defeated Running Wolf in 5:24 by pinfall with a Jumbo Avalanche.

Raing: D

Match Notes: After coming up short last week, Jumbo Jackson took his anger out on the young heavyweight, finishing Wolf with not one, but two Jumbo Avalanches.

In-Ring Segment

After the Jackson/Wolf contest the USPW crew sets up the ring with carpet and a podium. Once the area is set up Sam Strong makes his way to the ring, joining Shane Sneer who remained at ringside while the ring was set up.

Shane Sneer starts off the segment with the announcement that he's looking to expand the Sneer Corporation, starting off with the biggest free agent in the history of wrestling: Bruce The Giant. After the announcement, Shane Sneer chooses to comment on Chris Caulfield's challenge last week. Shane says if Chris wants the honor of facing Bruce that he will have to prove it by facing the wrestler of his choosing.

With his announcement made, Shane Sneer leaves the ring as Sam Strong takes his spot behind the podium. Strong says that his announcement is very similar to Sneer's. Much like the Sneer Corporation, USPW will be expanding its recruiting efforts and tells everyone in the USPW Nation to look for some new faces in the upcoming weeks. Sam finishes the segment by unveiling what he calls the "core of USPW’s Manifest Destiny", the re-birth of Southern Championship Class Wrestling, a promotion that will work to develop the wrestlers of today and tomorrow!

In an extremely short match, Tribal Warrior defeated Krusher Karloff in 4:33 by pinfall with a Head Hunter Special. Tribal Warrior makes defence number 4 of his USPW Television title.

Backstage Segment

With Tribal Warrior's 4th successful defense of his National title under his belt, we cut to the back where James Justice and Nicky Champion are talking about their upcoming match with The Titans. The usually laid back James Justice tells Nicky not to worry about Baine tonight because he and The Watch have his back. Champion laughs off the notion that he's worried about Tyson Baine and tells Justice that they aren't going to need Enygma and The Force to take down The Titans, though it's clear by Champion's body language that the constant actions might just be getting under his skin. The most telling sign being when Nicky instinctively looks for his championship title only grimace when he realizes that the belt is currently in the possession of Baine.

Alicia Strong vs. Cherry Bomb

Winner Qualifies for USPW Women's Title Shot

In a match that had some good action but not much in the way of heat, Alicia Strong defeated Cherry Bomb in 11:56 by pinfall with a Victory Roll.

Raing: C-

Match Notes: Alicia Strong moves on to the USPW Women's Title after a series of chain wrestling between CB and Strong. Cherry Bomb was none too pleased with the outcome as she was not only outwrestled by Alicia, but also will be left off of the card of the first PPV of 2013. Our ring announcer, Brock Cornish was none too please when Cherry Bomb took her frustrations out on him.

James Justice & Nicky Champion vs. The Titans

In a bout that featured great action and a good crowd, James Justice and Nicky Champion defeated The Titans in 17:39 when James Justice defeated T-Rex by pinfall with a Liberation Slam.

Rating: C+

Match Notes: T-Rex might not have looked like he wanted to team with Tyson Baine earlier, but once the bell rang the two worked like a well-oiled machine. The two worked on James Justice throughout much of the match, and even when the fresher Champion was able to get in the match The Titans were in control. However, during the tail end of the match, Baine and Champion brawled their way to the back leaving only James Justice and T-Rex in the ring. Without his tag team partner, T-Rex was no match for the craftier Justice and fell to a Liberation Slam.

Backstage Segment

After the referee raises Justice’s hand in the air, the feed switches to the parking lot were the brawl between Nicky Champion and Tyson Baine continues. The two throw each other into cars, poles, boxes, and anything else surrounding the arena before Baine gets the advantage by throwing gravel into Nicky’s eyes.

After a few shots to the head, Baine picks up Champion and, using a modified Hades Bomb, throws Champion off one of the loading areas through a bunch of pallets to the ground below. The camera pans back to an expressionless Baine as the screen fades to black.

Foolish Commentary

I ended up booking this show a bit on the fly and I think it shows. If I planned the show better I think I could have still gotten another B- rating by placing Strong/Bomb as the opener and reordering a couple of the angles. I also might have been able to figure out something a bit more entertaining than a hype video recap to open up the show. It’s funny that D-Lyrium (I think it was D-Lyrium) mentioned something about USPW being a promotion that needed to be played more than any other promotion to start the game and I’m complaining about booking a segment that would fit right at home will a real national promotion! And if you didn’t realize, I had more workers listed in the video than is possible. I can’t remember which guys I left off in-game, but I’m guessing it was T-Rex, The Force, and one of the Towers of Power.

Before booking the event, I didn’t know if I was going to have the main event be James & Nicky vs. The Titans or James & Nicky vs. Tyson & Jackson (tying the match to last week’s main event), but I’m glad I went with The Titans. Even though the overall card was worse, the tag team main event was good enough to be considered the top rated match of the year (err two weeks). And as an added bonus the Titans have positive tag team chemistry (if the match note wasn’t a dead give-a-way)! BTW, I LOVED that we have a Top 100. So much cooler than a Top 10!

Speaking of tag teams, I am really thinking about making them a huge priority in USPW. I wasn’t really sure how the midcard titles were going to shake out since I have so many of them, but with the Titans chemistry and a lot of solid tag teams already in the company I can’t see why they shouldn’t be a main point of the promotion. Now if I could only figure out what to do with the National and TV titles…

I wonder if anyone of my fellow owners figured out I was planning to open up a developmental territory until now? With the seven day waiting period I didn’t open the promotion till after booking this show, since I didn’t want the AI to sign anyone to a PPA contract till after I had my wrestlers “sent down” to SCCW. Though I have to think that they thought something was up when I started to sign a number of young wrestlers without much in the way of overness. They all can’t job! ;)

Speaking of young workers, I’m not sure right now if Sozen Ishinomori will be on the USPW main roster or if I am going to send him to SCCW for a bit of seasoning. Does anyone know if he’ll suffer morale problems if there are no Japanese speakers in the developmental system?

And finally, I know I’ve mentioned the fact that I’ve signed a bunch of workers a number of times, but haven’t told you who’ve I’ve signed. Well, I’m not going to be telling you right now, but don’t worry, I will be very soon. Please look out for a roster update special posts in the coming days.

And one last thing: I still plan on updating the rosters to include theme music, but since there is no easy spot to place the theme for the diary as a whole, I share it here:

. I'd explain why it's the theme but that may or may not go into spoiler territory.

Since this week’s questions were too vague I decided not to count them in the predictions. But I did love the guesses that people made especially Derek’s insane answer (though I think he might be confusing me with J Silver). Hopefully the questions for next week will be better.

USPW American Wrestling Preview

(Episode 2013.3: January 17th, 2013)

USPW Title Match Announced

After weeks of speculation, USPW management has finally announced the USPW World title match for Stars, Stripes, and Slams! as Nicky Champion defends his title against Tyson Baine. While this matchup is not at all surprising, what might be surprising is that we are told Nicky Champion was the one who requested this match. Both Champion and Baine have been given time during this week's broadcast to speak their minds, so be sure to tune in to get the full story.

Promo time isn't the only thing that these two men will be doing during USPW American Wrestling. Both men will be in action as Tyson Baine goes one-on-one with The Watch's Enygma while Nicky Champion teams up with his Camp Strong comrade, Alicia Strong, to face the Sneer Corporation's Danny Rushmore and his partner Cherry Bomb in a star-studed mixed tag exhibition.

The Man Known as Bunyan

As we heard last week, if Chris Caulfield wants to face Bruce The Giant at Stars, Stripes, and Slams! he's going to have to face a wrestler of Shane Sneer's choosing. We received word that Shane Sneer has picked that wrestler, a newcomer going by the name of John Bunyan. Not much is known about this worker, but Shane Sneer has given Chris Caulfield and the rest of the USPW Universe some hints about Mr. Bunyan:

- When asked about his style in the ring, Sneer called him "Country Strong"

- Sneer was highly impressed about his work in the independents, particularly along the American east coast.

- Finally, Shane Sneer said that he will no doubt be giving Nicky Champion fits for decades to come. While we don't know this for sure, we can safely bet that John Bunyan is somewhere in the ballpark of Nicky Champion's age.

The Eye Before the Storm

For the second week in a row, Commission Doom has declared that the Sneer Corporation and The Watch will not be meeting up in competition on USPW American Wrestling. Doom has gone on record saying that he has enough with the two groups and wants the conflict to come to an end. Word has it that while the two groups will not be competing on this week's TV, they will be facing off at Stars, Stripes, and Slams! More details to come.

USPW "Quick Hits"

- The Cold Warriors and Savage Fury finish their mini-series with a tag team match with the winner facing the USPW World Tag Team champions, Natural Storm, at Stars, Stripes, and Slams! Will Savage Fury sweep the series and go for "double gold" or will The Cold Warriors redeem their mother countries with a tag team win?

- This week we will find out who will join Alicia Strong and Gorgon as challengers for Meoldy's USPW Womens championship as Belle Bryden takes on Raven Robinson in singles competition.

- The rebirth of Southern Championship Class Wrestling is in full swing. While we don't much about the roster, we can announce that Sozen Ishinomori will be joining the promotion as a representative of the Sneer Corporation.

Thanks. When I was bringing in new talent I knew I didn't want all of the characters to keep their indy names. And "John Bunyan", and combination of American folk heroes John Smith and Paul Bunyan, just seemed like a cool name for a wrestler in USPW, heel or face. Glad someone else thought so too!
