Since originally posting this thread, my life has taken some dramatic twists and turns. While I had started this thread in the hopes of giving back to the community, I now no longer have the spare time I once did to work on logos or events... at least, not for the forseeable future.

 

As soon as that changes, I will certainly be back to open up this thread for requests, but in the meantime, I will continue to make the designs I have for my own personal games available to anyone who chooses to use them.

Some great stuff there - I absolutely love the EWA ones, while the TWL ones are even better. I think I'd go and watch Stampede, High Noon, or Back in the Saddle if I saw that logo on a poster regardless who was actually wrestling on it.

I didn't create the TWL logo. That was created to the best of my knowledge by the master of logos, Kamchatka.

However, I can claim to be the designer of the DLW logo, and here is how I did it. First off, I use Paint.NET for my logos.

What I do is, first I sought out a graphic of the Dutch flag. Then I created two layers. On the top layer, I typed out and sized the letters DLW. On the bottom layer, I resized the flag graphic so that the flag colours in the background touched the letters on all of their edges. Then I used the lasso tool on the top layer to capture everything except the font. Then I switched layers and hit delete, which basically left a cut-out of the letters in the flag colours. After that, I deleted the top layer with the actual font on it, and added two layers of "Outline Object" to the bottom layer with the "flag-font." The first was a thin white outline, to help with the transition visually to the firmer, black outline which I layed in second.

I don't always get the results I like, but you never know until you try. In this case, I think it worked out alright. I'm a perfectionist with my work, so 80% of what you see up here I'm still not entirely happy with. In fact, I this is probably my fifth generation of EWA logos. Only "The War in Europe" and "Riot" have survived through all five generations, and even then I have tinkered with those ones to death.

You can really see an enormous improvement in skill level, these new ones are just fantastic (not to take anything away from the others, of course!)

 

Thanks. Yeah... the 4C ones are my most recent work. I had tried several things, but really didn't like:

 

a) the pinkish-red background for the 4C logo

b) how the logo looked wedged into the event titles

 

So I decided to take it in a complete different direction, with the faded large logo on a grey background. I think that works much better.

One thing, though: Is it just me or is the ACPW High Velocity logo a bit too "low-D" (as opposed to HD)?

 

It looks incredibly blurry if that's what you mean.

 

Great work on the rest though. Very nice work. I love the idea of having the 4C logo in the background instead of part of the actual event logo.
