Nice show Boltinho. Signing both Montero's is a real coup for EMLL, I'm guessing they must have been quite expensive? Still, they should bring you some good grades :)

Thanks.

Actually they werent too bad. I just thought that getting two good, young workers in who both have blood relations with my UC is too good to turn down!

And I've always wanted to hire Gino

Air Attack Weasel © vs Jonnie Perez

Xtreme Title

  • This match came as a reward for Jonnie Perez picking up back-to-back wins at Revolution & Vendetta.
  • Coming in with great momentum, Jonnie Perez caused the Xtreme Champion some problems in the early goings of this match with his unpredictability and speed.
  • However, the wheels soon came off for Jonnie Perez as he missed an attempted Plancha and went crashing to the floor outside the ring.
  • This was all the opening that Air Attack Weasel needed, and the Xtreme Champion controlled the match from this point. Bringing the match back into the ring, Air Attack Weasel was able to hit the Air Attack Ace to retain his title.

In a match that had an average crowd reaction and some decent in-ring action, Air Attack Weasel defeated Jonnie Perez in 12:09 by pinfall with an Air Attack Ace. Air Attack Weasel makes defence number 2 of his Coastal Zone Xtreme title.

Rating: D

Cliff Anderson: “Air Attack Weasel is able to end Jonnie Perez’s winning streak and retain his Xtreme Title! Jonnie put up a good fight, but just couldn’t get the job done…”

The Guru: “With his brother gone, this was Jonnie’s chance to step up and show he was worthy of taking Frankie’s spot. Unfortunately the kid just couldn’t get it done.”

Cliff Anderson: “Jonnie’s still only 23, he’ll have more chances to take that next step. Air Attack Weasel’s been in this business for over a decade, that experience was just too much tonight.”

Al Coleman w/ Willow vs Waylon Walls

  • This was Al Coleman’s first singles match of 2013, having competed in tag team action at both Revolution & Vendetta.
  • Despite this Coleman was all over Waylon Walls from the very first bell, using his submission holds to control the pace of the match.
  • Waylon Walls battled hard, but Al Coleman’s technique and experience proved too much for the rookie to handle. Battle hard as he did, Walls could do nothing to stop Coleman applying the Ankle Brace and picking up the win.

In an extremely poor match, Al Coleman defeated Waylon Walls in 10:11 by submission with an Ankle Brace.

Rating: D-

Cliff Anderson: “Waylon Walls battled hard, but Al Coleman’s superior technical skill was too much for the kid.”

The Guru: “Waylon Wall’s continues his learning curve here in the Zone. Give this young man time, and he’ll be a force here in the zone.”

Cliff Anderson: “Not tonight though. Tonight belongs to Al Coleman…”

Remmy Skye vs Californian Love Machine

  • Like Al Coleman, this match represented Californian Love Machine’s first foray into singles action this year, but CLM found himself facing a much tougher proposition than Coleman as he was up against former Coastal Zone Champion Remmy Skye.
  • This match was competed at an incredibly high pace throughout, as both men took to the air in search of victory.
  • Californian Love Machine started well, but, possibly as a result of his lack of recent singles competition, faded as the match progressed.
  • Remmy Skye really came into his own as the match wore on, nailing a number of impressive high flying moves. None more so than when he nailed the Skye Diver at the 12 minute mark to collect his third win on the bounce.

In a match that had some good action and average heat, Remmy Skye defeated California Love Machine in 12:04 by pinfall with a Skye Diver.

Rating: C-

Cliff Anderson: “Remmy Skye continues his unbeaten start to 2013!”

The Guru: “It’s been four years since Remmy last held the Coastal Zone Championship… and about as long since he’s looked as confident as this in a Coastal Zone ring.”

Cliff Anderson: “Could this run of form see Remmy return to the very pinnacle of the Zone?”

The Guru: “Only time will tell, but given his current form I wouldn’t be the one to bet against him…”

Matt Sparrow vs The American Flash

  • Last month’s Tag Team Title match saw a series communication issues cost the team of Flash Sparrow their chance at the titles. The match ended with Matt Sparrow seemingly disappointed with The American Flash’s contribution in the match.
  • This month we see the two tag partners face off in singles action. Before the action begins, Flash offered Sparrow a handshake as a mark of friendship and respect. Matt Sparrow shocks the crowd by knocking Flash’s hand away, rejecting the handshake.
  • This act of aggression from Sparrow seems to catch Flash completely off guard, and allows the veteran to take control of this match early.
  • Flash struggles to assert himself at all in this match, only able to raise a token offence throughout.
  • Sparrow on the other hand seems completely focused, intent on getting the job done. When he hits his Bird Brain Buster, the match is his.

In a match that had an average crowd reaction and some decent in-ring action, Matt Sparrow defeated The American Flash in 11:48 by pinfall with a Bird Brain Buster.

Rating: D-

Cliff Anderson: “Matt Sparrow get’s the win, but this new attitude of his… I’m not sure I approve.”

The Guru: “If it helps him get the job done, who are we to judge? I don’t think The American Flash saw it coming though.”

Cliff Anderson: “What does this mean for the team of Flash Sparrow?”

The Guru: “I think it’s fair to say that team is over Cliff. I can’t see the two co-existing again after the past couple of weeks.”

Frankie-Boy Fernandez vs KC Glenn

  • This match saw the Zone debut of KC Glenn, as he faced one-half of the Tag Team Champions Frankie-Boy Fernandez.
  • Glenn impressed many observers with his considerable talent in the ring, as he pushed Frankie-Boy to the very limit in this match.
  • The match between these two young men was contested at a ferocious pace, with neither man letting up for a second.
  • However it was the newcomer who made the first mistake, as a missed Dropkick opened the door for Fernandez to nail the Dirt Nap and pick up a hard earned victory.

In a bout that had solid in-ring action but not much in the way of heat, Frankie-Boy Fernandes defeated KC Glenn in 9:46 by pinfall with a Dirt Nap.

Rating: D

Cliff Anderson: “A hard earned win for Frankie-boy there, but what a showing from young KC Glenn!”

The Guru: “KC Glenn came in with no fear, and with that attitude you can put people under pressure... as Frankie-Boy Fernandez found tonight.”

Cliff Anderson: Tonight may not have been his night, but I think it’s fair to say that KC Glenn showed he has both the attitude and the skills to do well here in the Zone!”

The Guru:: “As did young Frankie Fernandez for that matter…”

Notorious vs Rich & Famous

  • A real case of youth vs experience here, as the raw, fresh team of Notorious faced the 3-time Coastal Zone Tag Team Champions Rich & Famous.
  • Notorious had their work cut out in this one from the very off, as they faced one of the most decorated team in the Zone’s history.
  • Notorious fought hard, but the fluid teamwork of their opponents proved too much for the youngsters to handle.
  • It came as no surprise when Jackpot Jordan hit the Cash In to collect the win for his team.

In an extremely poor match, Rich And Famous defeated Notorious in 9:35 when Jackpot Jordan defeated Carlos Barrera by pinfall with a Cash In.

Rating: E+

Cliff Anderson: “And Rich & Famous are back to doing what they do best: winning tag matches… as they pick up, what is surprisingly, their first win of 2013!”

The Guru: “You know they have their eye on, what would be, record setting fourth Coastal Zone Tag Team Titles… and wins like this can only help them on the road to that goal.”

Donnie J w/ Britney Hollywood vs Amazing Fire Fly

  • Amazing Fire Fly’s tough introduction to life in the Zone continues here, as the young luchador finds himself facing another former Coastal Zone Champion.
  • Once again the raw speed of Amazing Fire Fly is an amazing spectacle to behold, however the veteran instincts of Donnie J eventually bring the young luchador under control.
  • Experience pays for Donnie J here, as he is able to put his younger opponent away in quick time following a Death On Miami Beach.

In a match that had an average crowd reaction and some decent in-ring action, Donnie J defeated Amazing Fire Fly in 5:42 by pinfall with a Death On Miami Beach.

Rating: D+

Cliff Anderson: “Donnie J continues his resurgence in 2013. That’s his third win on the bounce!”

The Guru: “Is it time to start calling this a comeback? And if so, does this lead to Donnie picking up a fourth Coastal Zone Championship?”

Cliff Anderson: “That’s not a question I can answer, but I can say that if I was Mikey James I would be paying very close attention to Donnie J.”

Marc Speed vs Fox Mask

  • Following his failed title challenge at Vendetta, this match represented a chance for Fox Mask to regain some lost momentum. For Marc Speed, this represented an opportunity to establish himself as a true threat in singles competition here in the Zone. A victory over the six-time Coastal Zone Champion, and Zone legend, would insert Marc Speed right into the Coastal Zone Title picture.
  • The first five minutes of this match are frantic, with the action moving back and forth as both men desperately try to gain control.
  • To the surprise of many of the Zone faithful, it is actually Marc Speed who is able to take control of the match. Using his submission maneuvers to slow the pace and stifle Fox Mask’s offence.
  • This tactic serves Marc Speed well, as Fox Mask struggles to break free of the submission holds and continues to be worn down.
  • However, around the fifteen minute mark, Fox Mask is finally able to break free, much to the delight of the Zone faithful.
  • The pace of the match instantly rises, with Fox Mask flying around the ring. Fox Mask stays on top, and is eventually able to set Speed up for the Fox Hunter to earn a hard fought win.

In a bout that had a good crowd and good action, Fox Mask defeated Marc Speed in 19:48 by pinfall with a Fox Hunter.

Rating: C

Cliff Anderson: “He’s done it! Just like so many times before, Fox Mask has pulled it off. What a comeback win!”

The Guru: “Marc Speed dominated that match. He had it in the bag, but still Fox Mask found a way to get the win… and THAT is why he is a six-time Coastal Zone Champion!”

Mikey James © vs Masked Cougar

Coastal Zone Championship

  • A rematch from January, where Masked Cougar pushed Mikey James to his very limit, but came up just short in his title challenge.
  • This was once again an incredibly tight match, as the two momentum swept back and forth throughout between the two competitors.
  • Mikey James caused damage with his Martial Arts kicks and throws, before Cougar was able to roar back with his ferocious speed to put the Champion on the back foot.
  • Cougar looked to have the title won, as he flew in for a Cougar’s Pounce… but Mikey James was able to duck to avoid the impact.
  • James then attempted a Scything Side Kick, but this time it was Cougar who ducked out of the way.
  • After 20 minutes of non-stop back and forth action, an exhausted Mikey James was finally able to hit the Dragon Whip, which ensured he retained his title.

In a bout that had a good crowd and good action, Mikey James defeated Masked Cougar in 20:03 by pinfall with a Dragon Whip. Mikey James makes defence number 5 of his Coastal Zone Championship title.

Rating: C+

Cliff Anderson: “What a contest! They went back and forth for over 20 minutes, and never let up for a second!”

The Guru: “This loss will hurt Cougar. He pushed Mikey James to the very edge of his ability, and even looked to have the title won at one point, but he didn’t quite finish the job. Cougar knows he’s good enough to pick up that second Coastal Zone Championship, but he will be so frustrated that he couldn’t get it done tonight.”

Cliff Anderson: “It was yet another impressive performance from young Mikey James though. We speculated that his tag partner leaving may knock his confidence, but if anything he was stronger than ever tonight!”

The Guru: “It’s going to take a hell of a performance to knock him from his perch, that’s for sure…”

Cliff Anderson: ““But who is the man to give that performance? Ladies and gentlemen thank you for joining us tonight at the Grissom Auditorium. I’ve been Cliff Anderson bringing you CZCW Uprising, along with my partner on commentary the Guru. Come party with us next month for our Spring Break Bash! Hope to see you there...”

NYCW Live in New York!

Bulldozer Brandon Smith vs. Whitehorse Whittaker

The match is a very one sided affair even with Whittaker's partner Mad Mort's desperate attempts to cheat. Smith was just to strong and after hitting his Inverted Piledriver, he proved his strength by putting Whittaker in a bear hug until the referee rang for the bell.

Winner:
Bulldozer Brandon Smith.

After the match BBS made it clear he wasn't done calling Mad Mort into the ring. He says since he was so eager to get involved in the last match, he wouldn't mind fighting Brandon right now!

Bulldozer Brandon Smith vs. Howlin' Mad Mort

With Whittaker on the outside injured this was a fair one on one match. It was however, similarly one sided. Brandon Smith showed no signs of slowing down in his second match. The only time Whittaker got up served as the end of the match as BBS ducked his attack and Mort was clobbered before falling into an Inverted Tombstone.

Winner:
Bulldozer Brandon Smith.

After the match Brandon took a microphone and said if they both want to attack him during matches, then then can face him in a handicap match at next months show!

Geoff Borne vs. Monty Trescarde

Despite his cheating Monty was shown up in this match as he got arrogant and ended up losing the match to a roll up from Borne.

Winner:

The Southern Stars © vs. The Old School Principles vs. The Ring Generals

Winner:
The Southern Stars.

Century came out and claimed that last months attack on Sammy The Shark was nothing personal and was just him making his mark, he then made a open challenge to the roster, which was answered by Whistler.

Travis Century vs. Whistler

The match went back and forth but it was eventually Century who capitalised on a tired Whistler to get the win using the same Double Arm DDT he hit The Shark with last month!

Winner:
Travis Century

We then see a video of Sammy The Shark's reaction from last months show – he spoke about the ups and downs on the night, and how he was robbed of the title only to get attacked by Travis Century – he said he will focus on getting the title back next month, but he also promised that he isn't going to let what Century did to him slide.

Andrew Harper vs. The New York Doll

While usually a heel The New York Doll displayed more babyface antics in the match and Harper was the one bending the rules – it came out as

Winner:
The New York Doll

Honest Frank then came out and celebrated becoming the champion last month. He says he will beat Sammy The Shark and then move onto other challengers and become the best champion ever. Sammy then interrupted Frank telling him to hold his horses as he hasn't won yet, and if he didn't cheat last month he wouldn't have the belt in the first place.

Black Hat Bailey vs. Steve Flash

A back and forth match which Bailey dominated in large using underhanded tactics throughout. Steve did attempt a comeback but it was in vain as Bailey's persistent rule bending paid off as he won the match.

Winner:
Black Hat Bailey

Honest Frank © vs. Sammy The Shark

The match was very even and went back and forth but it was the distraction from Travis Century that gave the win to Honest Frank. He hit a Frank-N-Hurter on Sammy The Shark for the victory

Winner:
Honest Frank

After the match Larry Vessey came out and said that next month we'll see another title rematch, but this time it will be in a cage. He then got in his face and hold him he had a very special something for Travis Century next month.

This was pretty even fight between former Puerto Rican champion Messiah and Kirk Jameson as Jameson was able to counter Messiah´s strenght advantage with his better technical skills and greater speed. The Puerto Rican Boys (Kid San Juan & Island Boy Apollo) vs. The 937lb Express (King Kong Kennedy & Ox Mastadon)

Puerto Rican Boys had a good game plan in this one as they used their speed advantage to stay away from Kennedy and Ox at the beginning and then started to hit hard when the bigger men started to tire out. Kid San Juan collected the win by pinning Kennedy after he connected with Moonsault Press.

WINNERS: The Puerto Rican Boys by pinfall in 5:45 E+

Titan /w. Carl Bach vs. Bradford Peverell

Titan keeps control for the early parts of this one thanks to his strenght advantage but eventually Bradford gets better into the game and after that the fortune turns to favor Peverell and at the end it´s Titan who is left to look the arena lights after Drean Left Hook.

WINNER: Bradford Peverell by pinfall in 6:47 D-

http://img607.imageshack.us/img607/9370/kidtoma.jpg vs. http://img210.imageshack.us/img210/6108/puertoricanpower.jpg

Kid Toma vs. Puerto Rican Power

Toma used his intense and flashy offence to stay on control for the early part and Power seemed to have little bit of a hard time to get used on his opponent´s style. Still Power is canny veteran and eventually he managed to get better grasp on his opponent and that lead to him picking a win at the end via SanJuan Rush.

WINNER: Puerto Rican Power by pinfall in 14:25 C-

ANGLE:

Power doesn´t get any time to celebrate as Akima Brave attacks him from behind right after the match. Power is unable to defend himself properly after the tough match and so he is beaten down by Akima and Toma who soon joined his partner. C-

http://img405.imageshack.us/img405/7121/akimabrave.jpg vs. http://img689.imageshack.us/img689/1571/billyrussell.jpg

Akima Brave vs. Billy Russell

Technical wrestling versus intense brawling was the name of the game here and both guys gave their all in the ring with almost 14 minutes of non-stop action. Russell manages to make another successful defense in the end when he finally managed to keep Brave down for a three count via Grounded Knee Flurry.

WINNER: Billy Russell by pinfall in 13:58 C-

ANGLE:

http://img689.imageshack.us/img689/1571/billyrussell.jpghttp://img542.imageshack.us/img542/7938/hellsbouncer.jpg

Hell´s Bouncer makes his presence felt right after the match by attacking and destroying tired Russell. It seems that things between Bouncer and Russell are still unfinished despite Russell´s win over Bouncer last month. C+

Trying out a new style here.

IPW Unbreakable 3

Held at The Simmons Center in South West USA

Attendance: 207

The show opens up with a pretty random 6 man match with Malili Umaga facing off against new signings Antonio Del Veccio and Mimic, IPW regulars Moroi and Chucky Dorrance and the hated Eric Sandretti. Umaga gets the win after destroying the 5 other men in the match and pinning Sandretti. Nemesis shows up and legitimately fires Sandretti for "Helping the enemy". (D-)

Ray Snow and Fiasco Fierce are up next. The crowd predictably is vocal towards Fierce and it almost looks as though Fierce has given up. Snow takes the surprising win with a Koiso Clutch (Gedo Clutch). (E)

A new face to IPW shows up in Sanchez Villano with his new sidekick K2 (K-Squared using a gangsta/rapper gimmick). Villano declared it hunting season and called any two people to come out. Surprisingly Brimstone and Stanley Axis answered the call, even more surprisingly Brimstone and Axis showed an excellent level of chemistry between them. K2 and Villano still won though. (E)

Anslem Briggs was out on hype duty, saying that Alan Parent and Sky King would turn The American Cobras into The American Losers. (F+)

And he was right as Parent & King tore The American Cobras to shreds, finishing the match after Alan Parent locked on the dreaded Dragon Sleeper to Storm Spillane. The crowd still hate Parent. (E)

Deadly Deadshot defended his IPW Californian Championship in a dreadful match with E-Soteric. The crowd hate Soteric and were only happy to see Deadshot kick him in the skull for the win. (E-)

Fro Sure made a triumphant return back to IPW as he defeated Sayeed X in a hard fought match. Some portions of the crowd were calling for Sure's head as he was one of the men Brother Grimm took to GSW. Others were happy for a return to decent wrestling. (D)

Panda Mask II and El Mitico Jr. were the surprise MOTN as they raised the roof of The Simmons Center with a stunning display of athleticism and lucha libre offence. Panda Mask got the win but both men were applauded by the IPW faithful. (D+)

Findlay O'Farraday made his debut in IPW by getting into an absolute war with Hell Monkey. Both men battered each other with punches, kicks, chairshots and other weapons and eventually the referee had to call for a double KO as neither man could answer a 10 count. (D)

Teddy Powell and Dazzling Dave Diamond were in the main event in what was the second best match of the night. Powell displayed even more arrogance than usual as he picked apart DDD. Dave Diamond made a short comeback but it wasn't enough to stop Powell from retaining and a Motion Censor roundhouse kick was a mere explanation point in this match. (D)

Steven Parker made his way out and challenged Teddy Powell to a match next month. Powell smirked and told him to bring it on. Parker smirked at this news. All the audience smirked. (D-)

Final Show Rating: D

(Nemesis and Gil Thomas won't be smirking at the end of the month "Regional Battle" reports)

I really like the idea of this thread, and the promotions chosen are really interesting. Makes me wish someone would take on a lucha ThunderVerse diary though :D

Keep up the good work everyone!

From The Mind Of The Guru

http://i757.photobucket.com/albums/xx212/Cverse_Rerender/jhd1/TheGuru.jpg

March proved to be an important month, both for CZCW and the wider wrestling world. The shock news of the month was TCW’s surprise fall from National to Cult, leaving the SWF as the only National+ promotion operating in the USA. We can only hope either TCW or USPW step up to try and fight the monopoly at the top of the industry...

Back in the Zone, we took the decision to move our shows from the beginning of the month to the very end of the month. With both Mikey James & KC Glenn on tour in Japan for the next few months, this move will prove more accommodating to their busy schedules. This should allow us full use of our Champion throughout the tour. In order to advertise this change of dates to our fans, we’ve decided to run a special edition of ‘Coast to Coast’, so that they can get used to the new date before the new schedule begins from April. Donnie J helped improve the morale in the locker room, which helped with the transition, by adopting Frankie-Boy Fernandez as his second protégé... meaning he is now mentoring both Going Coastal boys... I should make a match out of that ...

Saturday Week 4 March 2013

In front of a crowd of 2,000 (Grissom Auditorium)

Air Attack Weasel vs KC Glenn

Xtreme Title

  • This ‘special’ edition of the Coastal Zone starts off as usual with an Xtreme Title defence, which sees new youngster KC Glenn receive a title shot in only his second appearance in the Zone.
  • Glenn fought hard, but his youthful exuberance wasn’t enough to put away his experienced opponent.
  • Air Attack Weasel took control of the match after a frantic opening couple of minutes, and was able to hit Plop Goes The Weasel to pick up the win in quick time.

In a match that had some good action but not much in the way of heat, Air Attack Weasel defeated KC Glenn in 6:12 by pinfall with a Plop Goes The Weasel. Air Attack Weasel makes defence number 3 of his Coastal Zone Xtreme title.

Rating: D+

Cliff Anderson: “An impressive victory for the Xtreme Champion tonight. Young KC Glenn fought hard, but the experience of Weasel was just too much for him.”

The Guru: “I think this match came too soon for KC, give him a few months and I think this match would be a lot more competitive.”

Cliff Anderson: “Speaking of competitive matches, next up we have a special tag team showcase match! Current Tag Team Champions Going Coastal are in non-title action against the old zone favourites Zone Out!”

The Guru: “While Zone Out may not have held the Tag Titles here in the Zone, they have been involved in some classic matches over the years. Skye and Fox Mask are both former Coastal Zone Champions... Going Coastal may be on a roll, but this is going to be one hell of a test for the Champions.”

Zone Out vs Going Coastal

  • This was really a case of two fan favourite teams clashing, and both teams showed great respect for their opponents throughout.
  • In the early goings, Going Coastal utilised good teamwork and frequent tags in order to stay competitive.
  • However as the match progressed, the class and experience of Fox Mask and Remmy Skye came to the fore, and the Zone veterans began to take control of the match.
  • Going Coastal continued to offer resistance to their more experienced opponents, but it became increasingly desperate as the Champions struggled to impose themselves.
  • After nearly 14 minutes of back and forth action, it was Remmy Skye who was able to hit the Skye Diver and pick up the victory for Zone Out.

In a bout that had solid in-ring action and average heat, Zone Out defeated Going Coastal in 13:38 when Remmy Skye defeated California Love Machine by pinfall with a Skye Diver.

Rating: D

Cliff Anderson: “The experience of Fox Mask and Remmy Skye comes through, and Going Coastal are handed their first loss of 2013.”

The Guru: “Going Coastal have proved to be a hugely successful team here in the Coastal Zone, but tonight shows they still have a way to go until they can be considered ‘greats’. However they’re a young team, so don’t bet against them getting there!”

Cliff Anderson: “With teams like Rich & Famous and the Shoot Club both after their fourth Coastal Zone Tag Team Titles, Going Coastal will have to put this loss to the back of their mind and get back to winning ways.”

http://i241.photobucket.com/albums/ff5/bennyd81/RTG/CZCW/MattSparrow_zpsdf0a468e.jpghttp://www2.picturepush.com/photo/a/6229145/1024/CZCW/VS.jpghttp://i241.photobucket.com/albums/ff5/bennyd81/RTG/CZCW/WaylonWalls_zps0b9e865d.jpg

Matt Sparrow vs Waylon Walls

  • Matt Sparrow is once again in singles action, as his tag team with The American Flash seems all but over.
  • Waylon Walls seems intent on turning this one into a straight up brawl, but Matt Sparrow used his veteran instincts to maintain some distance between the two competitors.
  • Walls battles hard, but can’t quite match up to Matt Sparrow as the veteran nail the Bird Brain Buster to pick up his second win on the bounce.

In an extremely poor match, Matt Sparrow defeated Waylon Walls in 9:45 by pinfall with a Bird Brain Buster.

Rating: E+

Cliff Anderson: “Another win for Matt Sparrow, and his return to singles action seems to be off to a good start.”

The Guru: “He tried to step up to help The American Flash when Insane Machine left, but sometimes these things just don’t work out. You just have to cut your losses, and move on.”

Cliff Anderson: “Speaking of The American Flash, he’s in action next in our Zone Future showcase tag match!”

http://i241.photobucket.com/albums/ff5/bennyd81/RTG/CZCW/CarlosBarrera_zps2013cdae.jpghttp://i241.photobucket.com/albums/ff5/bennyd81/RTG/CZCW/MiguelRivera_zps77fc7384.jpghttp://www2.picturepush.com/photo/a/6229145/1024/CZCW/VS.jpghttp://i241.photobucket.com/albums/ff5/bennyd81/RTG/CZCW/TheAmericanFlash_zpsbdac3558.jpghttp://i241.photobucket.com/albums/ff5/bennyd81/RTG/CZCW/JonniePerez_zps4006f4f0.jpg

Notorious vs The American Flash & Jonnie Perez

  • Following the split of Flash Sparrow, The American Flash has found himself a new tag partner for this match in Jonnie Perez.
  • On commentary, they play up a ‘lost mentor’ connection between Flash & Perez. Flash’s struggles since the departure of mentor Insane Machine are well documented, while Jonnie’s older brother Frankie Perez recently left CZCW to join the SWF.
  • While Notorious have failed to pick up a victory in the Zone in 2013, there has been a notable improvement in their performances. This trend continued in this match, as they overwhelmed their smaller opponents at the start of this match.
  • Notorious looked to have this match in hand, as they wore down The American Flash in their corner... but they hadn’t reckoned for Jonnie Perez.
  • The American Flash was able to squirm free from Carlos Barrera, and made the hot tag to Jonnie Perez. Perez came flying into the ring with a Springboard Clothesline, before stopping the onrushing Rivera with a Dropkick.
  • Notorious rolled to the outside to try to regroup, but Perez didn’t give them a second as he flew over the top rope and nailed both of the Notorious boys with a Plancha to the outside.
  • Rolling Barrera back into the ring, Perez is able to hit his impressive Triple-Jump Tornado DDT to pick up the win for his team.

In an extremely poor match, The American Flash and Jonnie Perez defeated Notorious in 8:16 when Jonnie Perez defeated Carlos Barrera by pinfall with a Triple-Jump Tornado DDT.

Rating: E+

Cliff Anderson: “What a performance from Jonnie Perez! I thought Notorious had that one in the bag, but Perez completely turned the momentum of that match on his head.”

The Guru: “Jonnie Perez has the ability to do that. You can’t prepare for his high-risk, daredevil style. Unfortunately it’s a style that backfires on Jonnie as often as it comes off. However it came off tonight and there was nothing Notorious could do to stop him.”

http://i757.photobucket.com/albums/xx212/Cverse_Rerender/Kamchatka/MaskedCougar_kam5.jpghttp://www2.picturepush.com/photo/a/6229145/1024/CZCW/VS.jpghttp://i241.photobucket.com/albums/ff5/bennyd81/RTG/CZCW/AmazingFireFly_zps0c527205.jpg

Masked Cougar vs Amazing Fire Fly

  • Amazing Fire Fly’s baptism of fire continues, as he faces his third former Coastal Zone Champion on the bounce. This time he faces fellow luchador Masked Cougar.
  • This match is contested at an incredible pace, with both men flying around the ring at unbelievable speeds.
  • The pace of this match doesn’t drop for a second from start to finish, as the two competitors trade moves back and forth. However, Cougar is able to nail his Cougar Pounce just after the eight minute mark to collect the win.

In a match that had an average crowd reaction and some decent in-ring action, Masked Cougar defeated Amazing Fire Fly in 8:10 by pinfall with a Cougar Pounce.

Rating: D+

Cliff Anderson: “Fire Fly impresses again, but once again comes up short against a former Coastal Zone Champion.”

The Guru: “It’s been a real baptism of fire for Fire Fly, maybe when he is paired up with one of the other younger guys he will get that all important first win?”

Cliff Anderson: “Next up are two teams who are no strangers to wins here in the Zone. The two most decorated Tag Teams in Coastal Zone history are in action next, in a rivalry that dates back years.”

The Guru: “We’ve seen this match many times before, many times for the Coastal Zone Tag Team Titles. These two teams are looked in a race to become the very first four time Coastal Zone Tag Champions, and you have to think this match will go some way to deciding which of these teams will succeed.”

Cliff Anderson: “Going Coastal will be watching this one intently, as it won’t be long until one, or both, of these teams is challenging for tag team gold once again.”

Rich & Famous vs Shoot Club w/ Willow

  • This is a match that has been seen in the Zone many times before, as the two most decorated tag teams in the company’s history face off once again to try and claim the spot as the premier tag team on the roster.
  • Both teams utilise great teamwork throughout the match, with frequent tags and double team moves.
  • The match goes back and forth for ten minutes, until Jake Idol begins to make the most of his size advantage and begins to overpower Marc Speed in the ring.
  • Idol brawls with Speed, landing some heavy strikes which leave ‘Speedball’ reeling. However a stray right hand from Idol proves to be his undoing, as Marc Speed is able to get hold of and roll into a Cross Armbreaker.
  • Idol struggles briefly, but eventually has no choice but to tap out.

In a match that had an average crowd reaction and some decent in-ring action, Shoot Club defeated Rich And Famous in 11:52 when Marc Speed defeated Jackpot Jordan by submission with a Cross Armbreaker.

Rating: C-

Cliff Anderson: “These two teams once again show why they have been so successful here in the Zone, but it’s the Shoot Club who take it this one.”

The Guru: “Does that victory move the Shoot Club to number one contenders for Going Coastal’s Tag Team Titles?”

Cliff Anderson: “I don’t think this win necessarily gives Shoot Club that position, but it will certainly move them closer that that shot at their fourth set of tag titles...”

The Guru: “Speaking of moving closer to a title, next up Donnie J returns to the Main Event for the first time in six months. After a difficult period, Donnie has started 2013 on fire. However, Mikey James has started the year with a bang as well. Can ‘The Dragon’ retain, or will Donnie J claim his fourth Coastal Zone Championship.”

http://i757.photobucket.com/albums/xx212/Cverse_Rerender/J%20Silver/MikeyJames-1.jpghttp://www2.picturepush.com/photo/a/6229145/1024/CZCW/VS.jpghttp://i757.photobucket.com/albums/xx212/Cverse_Rerender/jtlant/DonnieJ_alt.jpgw/http://i757.photobucket.com/albums/xx212/Cverse_Rerender/J%20Silver/BritneyHollywood_alt.jpg

Mikey James vs Donnie J w/ Britney Hollywood

  • Donnie J’s climb back to the Main Event was played up on commentary throughout this match, as well as his history as a three time Coastal Zone Champion.
  • Mikey James started the match strongly, using his patented Martial Arts strikes and kicks to keep his more experienced opponent at bay.
  • However Donnie was able to weather the early storm, and eventually he was able to use his experience to turn the match back in his favour.
  • Now it was like watching the Donnie J of old, as he flew around the ring. This seemed to catch Mikey James completely off guard, as Donnie’s recent style has relied less on high-flying and more on his technical skills.
  • With Mikey struggling to control the high flying Donnie, there were a number of near falls for the challenger. None closer than a Frog Splash from the top rope, that Mikey James kicked out off at 2.9999.
  • Donnie kept on top, although he did begin to slow down slightly as the match wore on. This allowed Mikey back into the match a little, but by and large Donnie stayed on top.
  • At the twenty minute mark, with the champion down, Donnie went to the top rope again, looking to put this one away with another Frog Splash. Donnie went for the move, but Mikey James showed incredible agility to pop up and nail the flying Donnie J with a Scything Side Kick.
  • The challenger was out, and Mikey James collapsed into the cover to retain his title.

In a bout that had a good crowd and good action, Mikey James defeated Donnie J in 20:29 by pinfall with a Scything Side Kick. Mikey James makes defence number 6 of his Coastal Zone Championship title.

Rating: C+

Cliff Anderson: “What incredible agility from Mikey James, and he survives with his title by the skin of his teeth!”

The Guru: “On tonight’s performance I think it’s fair to say that Donnie J is back to his best though. I don’t think that will be the last time we see these two face off for the title.”

Cliff Anderson: “I’m not going to disagree with you there, but for now Mikey James’ reign as Coastal Zone Champion continues. Can he keep it going at ‘Spring Break Bash’? Join us and find out!”

Puerto Rican Power & Carlos Gonzalez vs. The Samoan Wildboyz (Akima Brave & Kid Toma)

Gonzalez put-up a good showing in this one but it did looks like he was a little bit outmatched at times. Still Carlos showed lots of guts in this one and with assistance of Puerto Rican Power they managed to keep the experienced Wildbiyz at bay for most of the match. However eventually it was Brave´s & Toma´s tag experience that proved vital as Akima manages to pin Gonzalez while Toma kept PRP busy.

WINNERS: The Samoan Wildboyz by pinfall in 14:21 D

This one was a close match but in the end it´s Peverell who picks up the victory after he connects with Dream Left Hook.

WINNER: Bradford Peverell by pinfall in 7:09 D-

2 vs. 2

http://img708.imageshack.us/img708/9616/kingkongkennedy.jpg & http://img703.imageshack.us/img703/2090/oxkreviazuk.jpg vs. http://img849.imageshack.us/img849/8702/lepermessiah.jpg & http://img210.imageshack.us/img210/4807/titang.jpg /w. http://img710.imageshack.us/img710/2816/carlbatch.jpg

The 937lb Express (King Kong Kennedy & Ox Mastadon) vs. The Suffering (Leper Messiah & Titan) /w. Carl Bach

This one certainly wasn´t the most exiting match ever seen but it did serve it´s purpose that was mainly to demonstrate the power of new monster heel team of Messiah and Titan. The match ends with Messiah pinning Kennedy after The Prophecy.

WINNER: The Suffering by pinfall in 4:37 E

ANGLE:

http://img849.imageshack.us/img849/8702/lepermessiah.jpghttp://img708.imageshack.us/img708/9616/kingkongkennedy.jpg

Messiah wasn´t done with Kennedy as he completely destroys Kennedy by hitting him with The Prophecy twice more, while Titan made short work of Ox in the meantime. D-

1 vs. 1

http://img607.imageshack.us/img607/9370/kidtoma.jpg vs. http://img717.imageshack.us/img717/5030/matthocking.jpg

Kid Toma vs. Matt Hocking

This was mainly a showcase for Kid Toma though Hocking did get enough offence for this to be called a match instead of squash. Still Toma wasn´t really in any danger to lose and ends the match via Long Range Headbutt.

WINNER: Kid Toma by pinfall in 5:34 D

2 vs. 2 for the Tag Team titles

The Puerto Rican Boys (Kid San Juan & Island Boy Apollo) vs. Sweet N Sour (The Sensational Singh & Kirk Jameson) /w. Maryam Vega

Former tag champs did put-up a good showing but at the end of the day they weren´t able to get their belts back as Singh pinned Kid San Juan after Cal-Cutter to ensure first successful title defense for Sweet N Sour.

WINNERS: Sweet N Sour by pinfall in 5:34 D

ANGLE:

Sweet N Sour doesn´t get any time to celebrate their victory as The Suffering charge in the ring and beat the champions down. E

1 vs. 1 for Peoples Champion belt

http://img856.imageshack.us/img856/9270/fcwpeoples.jpg

http://img11.imageshack.us/img11/6029/rudyvelasquez.jpg vs. http://img842.imageshack.us/img842/1924/carlosgonzalez.jpg

Rudy Velasquez vs. Carlos Gonzalez

Carloz did make a case for himself here but despite getting close he eventually didn´t manage to capture Peoples title.

http://img607.imageshack.us/img607/9370/kidtoma.jpg

The main reason for that was Kid Toma who distracted Carlos on deciding moment allowing Velasquez to connect with Street Cutter.

WINNER: Rudy Velasquez by pinfall in 8:09 E+

2 vs. 2

http://img689.imageshack.us/img689/1571/billyrussell.jpg & http://img210.imageshack.us/img210/6108/puertoricanpower.jpg vs. http://img542.imageshack.us/img542/7938/hellsbouncer.jpg & http://img405.imageshack.us/img405/7121/akimabrave.jpg

Billy Russell & Puerto Rican Power vs. Hell´s Bouncer & Akima Brave

Hell´s Bouncer and Brave were able to isolate Puerto Rican Power for most of this match and managed to wear him down, while keeping each other´s fresh via quick tags. However eventually Power did manage to tag Russell in and soon after that things get out of control with all four guys brawling in and outside the ring which eventually forced referee to call double DQ when he couldn´t restore order.

Paperwork, paperwork and then little more paperwork. To be honest at times I hope that I would still be just another wrestler instead of owner. But I guess I can only blame myself about being an owner, eh?

Regardless, the reason why I had to do all this paperwork this time was because I decided that we need some new blood in our ranks and thus I hired a couple of new guys to help bolster the ranks.

http://img201.imageshack.us/img201/7500/ashcampbell.jpghttp://img546.imageshack.us/img546/565/nelsoncallum.jpg

First addition was the team of Ash Campbell and Nelson Callum. I wanted another face tag team to our midcard because other than Sweet N Sour there weren´t any teams who I felt could go toe-to-toe with likes of The Suffering and Latino Kings. Oh, The Puerto Rican Boys are decent but they still more of a jobber team than a real threat despite their recent title run. Both Callum and Campbell are also talented guys who could one day get a singles push too and they add nice depth on our midcard in case that one or more of our guys are stolen again.

http://img833.imageshack.us/img833/4198/fumihiroota.jpg

However the bigger signing is Fumihiro Ota who is added as top level heel since even with recent addition of Brave and Toma I still felt that we could use another solid hand there after Stranger left to SWF.

Of course there is only that many spots in the roster and as a result I made a hard decision to not re-sign King Kong Kennedy who´s contract will be up next month. Kennedy had a decent team going with Ox but with additions of Silent Rage, Callum & Cambell, The Suffering and Paratroopers (and Samoan Wildboyz too though they are here to help main event scene not tag division) to our tag division, I felt that I could afford to break The 937lb Express. To be honest they have fallen into jobber role in last few years and their big size just doesn´t make them good jobbers in my opinion. Also with the addition of The Suffering we have another menacing tag team who was above them in the ranks. All of this meant that Kennedy became expendable and so next show will be his last in FCW.

Saturday Week 4 April 2013

In front of a crowd of 2,000 (Grissom Auditorium)

Cliff Anderson: “Hello Ladies & Gentleman and welcome to CZCW Spring Break Bash! My name is Cliff Anderson and I’m joined at ringside, as always, by The Guru.”

The Guru: “Spring Break has always been an event for the young, and tonight is no different as two of the Zone’s brightest young stars face off in tonight’s Main Event for the Coastal Zone Championship!”

Cliff Anderson: “That’s right and what a Main Event it promises to be, as ‘The Dragon’ Mikey James faces off against ‘Speedball’ Marc Speed!”

The Guru: “But before all of that, we kick of tonight’s celebration with an Xtreme Title match!”

Air Attack Weasel vs Amazing Fire Fly

Xtreme Title

  • Amazing Fire Fly wasn’t facing a former Coastal Zone Champion this month, but things didn’t get any easier for the young luchador as he faced Xtreme Champion Air Attack Weasel.
  • Fire Fly started brightly, using his incredible speed and agility to fly around the ring, with Weasel struggling to keep up.
  • However, the Xtreme Champion’s experience allowed him to weather the early storm and eventually turn momentum in his favour with a step-up Enzuigiri.
  • From here Fire Fly struggled to work his way back into the match, as Weasel stayed on top of him and didn’t give him room to breathe.
  • An Air Attack Ace proved enough to pick up the win, as Air Attack Weasel made the 4th defence of his Xtreme Title.

In a bout that had solid in-ring action but not much in the way of heat, Air Attack Weasel defeated Amazing Fire Fly in 8:24 by pinfall with an Air Attack Ace. Air Attack Weasel makes defence number 4 of his Coastal Zone Xtreme title.

Rating: D+

Cliff Anderson: “Amazing Fire Fly’s rough introduction to life here in the Zone continues tonight. He continues to show promise, but just can’t finish the job against some much more experienced opponents.”

The Guru: “Fire Fly has talent for sure, but facing a series of champions and former champions would be a difficult task for anyone... let alone a rookie luchador.”

Cliff Anderson: “While Fire Fly is a young talent struggling to make his mark here in the zone, Going Coastal are two young talents who are very much on their way.”

The Guru: “No doubt, the Tag Team Champions have seen off some of the most talented and decorated teams in CZCW over the past few months... and now that they are learning from Donnie J, I think they could get even better.”

Cliff Anderson: “They’ve found a great mentor in Donnie J for sure, but will this new alliance pay immediate dividends? Let’s find out, it’s Going Coastal teaming with Donnie J to face off against the team of Rich & Famous and The American Flash!”

Flash, Rich & Famous vs Donnie J & Going Coastal w/ Britney Hollywood

  • This match was made for the sole reason to show off the fact that Donnie J is now the mentor of both members of Going Coastal.
  • Much of the match is contested between the two recognised tag teams, as Going Coastal and Rich & Famous go back and forth for ten minutes.
  • Then came the hot tag to Donnie J, who hit the ring and cleans house. Donnie clears the ring until it’s just him and The American Flash left. A Death On Miami Beach later, and Donnie J has picked up the win for his team.
  • After the match, Donnie J celebrates in the ring with Britney Hollywood and his new protégés.

In a match that had an average crowd reaction and some decent in-ring action, Donnie J and Going Coastal defeated The American Flash and Rich And Famous in 11:44 when Donnie J defeated The American Flash by pinfall with a Death On Miami Beach.

Rating: D+

Cliff Anderson: “Donnie J picks up the win for his team, and this new mentor/protégé relationship between Donnie & Going Coastal looks to be paying off already!”

The Guru: “Donnie J taking two young talents under his wing can only be good for the Zone. Going Coastal can only benefit from Donnie’s years of experience.”

Cliff Anderson: “Next we have two more young talents looking to make it here in the CZCW, as Waylon Walls faces Carlos Barrera.”

http://i241.photobucket.com/albums/ff5/bennyd81/RTG/CZCW/WaylonWalls_zps0b9e865d.jpghttp://www2.picturepush.com/photo/a/6229145/1024/CZCW/VS.jpghttp://i241.photobucket.com/albums/ff5/bennyd81/RTG/CZCW/CarlosBarrera_zps2013cdae.jpg

Waylon Walls vs Carlos Barrera

  • Advertised as a ‘Zone Future’ match, this gives the fans in attendance an opportunity to hit the merch stand or take a bathroom break.
  • This match degenerates into a brawl very quickly, as the two men give their all to try and earn a first victory in 2013.
  • Carlos Barrera has been finding success in IPW recently, where he is one-half of their tag team champions as Notorious, and that may have helped him in this match. A Curb For Enthusiasm earned Barrera a rare win.

In an extremely poor match, Carlos Barrera defeated Waylon Walls in 7:49 by pinfall with a Curb Your Enthusiasm.

Rating: E-

Cliff Anderson: “Carlos Barrera with his first win of 2013. Generally known for his tag team work as part of Notorious, this will be a welcome success for the youngster.”

The Guru: “It will be interesting to see if this drives his partner, Miguel Rivera, to up his game in his match later tonight.”

http://i241.photobucket.com/albums/ff5/bennyd81/RTG/CZCW/JonniePerez_zps4006f4f0.jpghttp://www2.picturepush.com/photo/a/6229145/1024/CZCW/VS.jpghttp://i757.photobucket.com/albums/xx212/Cverse_Rerender/J%20Silver/AlColeman-1.jpgw/http://i757.photobucket.com/albums/xx212/Cverse_Rerender/J%20Silver/Willow.jpg

Jonnie Perez vs Al Coleman w/ Willow

  • This match represented a real clash of styles, as the high-flying and unpredictable Jonnie Perez faced off against the technical, submission based offense of Al Coleman.
  • Jonnie Perez caught Al Coleman off guard in the early stages with some risky, high-flying moves that put the youngster in the ascendancy.
  • However as has happened in the past, the wheels came off for Perez with a missed Senton Bomb attempt.
  • Al Coleman didn’t need a second invitation, and immediately began to work on the legs of Perez.
  • Perez struggled to get back into the match, and despite a few aborted attempts at a comeback he eventually was locked into the Ankle Brace and tapped out.

In a match that had an average crowd reaction and some decent in-ring action, Al Coleman defeated Jonnie Perez in 12:14 by submission with an Ankle Brace.

Rating: D+

Cliff Anderson: “Jonnie Perez’s inconsistency continues here tonight, and Al Coleman was able to capitalise on it.”

The Guru: “Jonnie shows glimpses of real promise, but he needs to work on taking that promise and converting it into victories.”

Cliff Anderson: “Speaking of someone who needs a victory, can Miguel Rivera emulate his tag team partners win earlier tonight as he faces young KC Glenn?”

http://i241.photobucket.com/albums/ff5/bennyd81/RTG/CZCW/MiguelRivera_zps77fc7384.jpghttp://www2.picturepush.com/photo/a/6229145/1024/CZCW/VS.jpghttp://i241.photobucket.com/albums/ff5/bennyd81/RTG/CZCW/KCGlenn_zpsdd8fb746.jpg

Miguel Rivera vs KC Glenn

  • KC Glenn tried to keep this match as a technical affair, but Miguel Rivera quickly turned it into an out and out brawl.
  • Glenn fought hard, but was quickly overwhelmed by his opponent.
  • Rivera stayed on top of Glenn for the remainder of the match, and was able to hit the Shot In The Dark to emulate his tag partner and pick up a much needed win.

In a bout that had solid in-ring action but not much in the way of heat, Miguel Rivera defeated KC Glenn in 5:33 by pinfall with a Shot In The Dark.

Rating: D

Cliff Anderson: “Miguel Rivera completes a successful night for Notorious, as he picks up an important win against young KC Glenn.”

The Guru: “While it’s a successful night for the tag team of Notorious, next we have a man who caused the break-up of a tag team only two months ago.”

Cliff Anderson: “Matt Sparrow used to be a respected veteran in the CZCW locker room, but his recent change in attitude has not gone down well with the wrestlers in the back. Fox Mask has stepped up to try and make Sparrow see the error of his ways. Can he bring him back from the brink? Let’s find out...”

http://i559.photobucket.com/albums/ss39/Kamchatka863/FoxMask_kam6.jpghttp://www2.picturepush.com/photo/a/6229145/1024/CZCW/VS.jpghttp://i241.photobucket.com/albums/ff5/bennyd81/RTG/CZCW/MattSparrow_zpsdf0a468e.jpg

Fox Mask vs Matt Sparrow

  • Fox Mask started this match well, using his patented mix of high flying and technical manoeuvres to take control of the contest.
  • It took a well placed low blow from Matt Sparrow to turn the tide of the match, and ‘The Bird Man’ was able to take control.
  • Sparrow gained a number of near falls, but just couldn’t put the Zone legend away.
  • Getting frustrated, Sparrow tried to set Fox Mask up for the Brainbuster. However, Fox Mask was able to slip out the back and hit the Fox Hunter from nowhere.

In a match that had an average crowd reaction and some decent in-ring action, Fox Mask defeated Matt Sparrow in 16:42 by pinfall with a Fox Hunter.

Rating: D-

Cliff Anderson: “Sparrow took every shortcut in the book, but still couldn’t get past Fox Mask.”

The Guru:: “This match represented a huge opportunity for Matt Sparrow, but as always Fox Mask came through.”

Cliff Anderson: “While on the subject of opportunities, next up we have a number one contenders match for the Coastal Zone Championship. The winner will receive a title shot next month at ‘Welcome To The Coastal Zone’ in a Ladder match!”

The Guru: “An opportunity to be part of the title match at the biggest show of the year here in the Zone, and in a ladder match at that. A huge opportunity for Remmy Skye, if he can get the win here tonight he’ll be in his element at ‘Welcome To The Coastal Zone’.”

Cliff Anderson: “If Remmy Skye can win tonight, you’d have to make ‘The King Of The Ladder Match’ the favourite going into ‘Welcome To The Coastal Zone’.”

Remmy Skye vs Masked Cougar

#1 Contenders Match

  • This match was contested at an incredibly high pace throughout, with neither man backing off for an instant.
  • The action went back and forth throughout the match, with both men gaining a series of near falls but neither able to put their opponent away.
  • A missed Dropkick from Cougar allowed Skye to take control, and a Front Suplex sent Cougar crashing to the mat.
  • Heading to the top rope, Skye went for the Skye Diver... but ate nothing but canvas as Cougar rolled out of the way.
  • Stunned, Skye staggered back to his feet... as Cougar floored him with an I am Cougar, Hear Me Roar! Cougar collapsed into the cover and picked up a hard fought victory to be name number one contender.

In a bout that had a good crowd and good action, Masked Cougar defeated Remmy Skye in 18:09 by pinfall with an I am Cougar, Hear Me Roar.

Rating: C

Cliff Anderson: “Masked Cougar is the number one contender! He’ll receive another chance to win a second Coastal Zone Championship at Welcome To The Coastal Zone!”

The Guru: “I thought Skye had it sewn up when he went for the Skye Diver, but it wasn’t to be. Skye will be bitterly disappointed, as the Main Event at ‘Welcome To The Coastal Zone’ would have been right up his street.”

Cliff Anderson: “But who will Masked Cougar face next month? Will he renew his rivalry with Mikey James, or will Marc Speed be able to win his very first Coastal Zone Championship here tonight?”

The Guru: “This opportunity has been a long time coming for Marc Speed. ‘Speedball’ has long been touted as a potential Coastal Zone Champion, and tonight is his first chance to see if he has what it takes. Will he step up? Let’s find out...”

Mikey James vs Marc Speed

Coastal Zone Championship

  • While this may have been Marc Speed’s first shot at the Coastal Zone Championship, you would never have guessed so as he went toe to toe with Mikey James throughout the match.
  • Mikey James used his patented Martial Arts style to try and combat the submission based attack used by Marc Speed.
  • Speed started the match strongly, as he was able to avoid a Scything Side Kick from Mikey James and reverse the move into an Ankle Brace (a move borrowed from tag partner Al Coleman).
  • Speed stayed on top of the champion using a series of submission holds to completely take the momentum away from Mikey James.
  • James eventually broke free of Speed’s clutches, and was able to land a series of strikes that put Speed on his heels.
  • However another missed Scything Side Kick was reversed into a Deadly Heel Hook by Marc Speed, to put ‘The Dragon’ in real trouble. Speed had the hold locked in for well over a minute before Mikey James was finally able to break the hold, but the damage may already have been done.
  • Speed stayed on top of Mikey James, earning a number of near falls with a variety of Suplexes. However the champion continued to kick out just before the three.
  • Speed kept the pressure on Mikey James, but the champion was able to slip out the back of another Suplex attempt. Speed looked to turn and continue his assault on ‘The Dragon’, but James was finally able to land a Scything Side Kick at the third attempt, this one coming out of the blue. James collapsed into the cover, and picked up a hard fought victory.

In a bout that had a good crowd and good action, Mikey James defeated Marc Speed in 19:53 by pinfall with a Scything Side Kick. Mikey James makes defence number 7 of his Coastal Zone Championship title.

Cliff Anderson: “Mikey James holds on to his title, but Marc Speed pushed him all the way tonight...”

The Guru: “Mikey James may have come through tonight, but he can add Marc Speed to the ever growing list of threats to his Coastal Zone Championship.”

Cliff Anderson: “Marc Speed has certainly elevated himself into that category with his performance here tonight, and the future of the Zone looks to be in good hands with these two men.”

The Guru: “If the future of the Zone is more matches like tonight’s Main Event, then count me in!”

Cliff Anderson: “That concludes our Spring Break Bash, we hope you enjoyed the show. Be sure to join us next month for the biggest show to hit the Zone all year, as we will welcome you all to the Coastal Zone, with Mikey James and Masked Cougar already confirmed for the Main Event. You don’t want to miss it...”

Fumihiro Ota vs. Kirk Jameson

Ota makes a good first impression but Jameson doesn´t need to be shamed on his performance either as he manages to keep things close.

That is until Titan comes to ringside to distract Jameson which allows Ota to hit him with Ninja Strike and score a pinfall victory in his debut match.

Samoan Wildboyz come into ring next and they are hyping the two singles matches that they have against PRP and Gonzalez telling fans that they will show why they will be the dominant force in FCW. PRP and Gonzalez are drawn to the ringside and back-and-forth argument starts between the four guys. However officials manage to stop them before any physical contact is made. D+

Hell´s Bouncer vs. Kashmir Singh

This match was pretty similar from the last one as Singh tries his all but despite coming close he eventually falls victim of Bouncer´s power game and one Damnation Drop later is all over.

WINNER: Hell´s Bouncer by pinfall in 10:09 D+

ANGLE:

http://img542.imageshack.us/img542/7938/hellsbouncer.jpg

Bouncer takes time to cut promo about Russell after the end of his match telling fans that Russell is coward who hides behind supposed injury (he actually is working through an injury, and though he can compete it will affect his matches as I found out last month) instead of facing Bouncer in-ring. C-

Akima Brave vs. Puerto Rican Power

Close match between two of FCW top guys but there was a lack of chemistry here that stopped this match being as good as it could have been. PRP eventually used his power and experience to pick-up the victory after a hard fought fight.

WINNER: Puerto Rican Power by pinfall in 13:32 D-
