In June of 2002, Jeff and Jerry Jarrett formed Total Nonstop Action Wrestling and with the backing of the National Wrestling Alliance began promoting weekly pay-per-views every Wednesday night. Over the past two years, NWA:TNA has filled the void within the world of professional wrestling and has positioned itself as the second biggest promotion in the United States. The promotion is on the rise having recently confirmed a new national television deal with Fox Sports Net to air Impact! every Friday afternoon from June 2004.

I'm using Jeff Jarrett as my user character; but I'm not planning any 'backstage' posts; just the on-screen shows are planned for this diary. This is being done with a converted version of my A-Data 2004 mod for TEW2010; no I have no plans of releasing this for TEW2013 - I just don't have the time. Idolized is working on a 2004 mod of his own; go play that instead - I'll be posting the first pay-per-view preview up next.

Total Nonstop Action returns to pay-per-view with the first-ever King of the Mountain match as Ron Killings makes his first defence of the NWA World Heavyweight Championship against former champion AJ Styles; Jeff Jarrett, Raven and Chris Harris. The five men have an intertwined history with each other and the NWA Championship – but all roads lead to tonight and the King of the Mountain match. Elsewhere, TNA X-Division Champion Frankie Kazarian defends against The Amazing Red; who had to go through the Best of 3 Series against Sonjay Dutt to earn his shot. NWA World Tag Team Champions Kid Kash and Dallas defend their titles against Dusty Rhodes and James Storm. After leading Team NWA to the World X Cup last week Jerry Lynn teams with Team Mexico’s Heavy Metal to take on Team Canada’s Petey Williams and Bobby Roode. While, Monty Brown clashes with former X-Division champion Sonny Siaki.

Goldy tells Watts to get out of her sight as she has business to attend to with Russo; Watts leaves but not before he threatens Goldy again. Jarrett claims that he is already the King of the TNA Mountain and the match tonight is his match. Raven attacks Jarrett from behind and screams that the NWA Title is his destiny; tonight that destiny is fulfilled – quote the Raven, nevermore. Tonight, all roads collide and we find out who is the King of the Mountain. Konnan and BG James tell the Truth that they have his back but can’t be out there during the match as Russo has declared that anyone who interferes will be fired on the spot. Harris catches Raven with a big Spear and makes the cover to become the second man eligible. </li><li>In the penalty box, Raven and Jarrett have words and ultimately decide to work together. </li><li>Harris goes to hang the belt himself, but Truth knocks him off the ladder and lands an Axe kick to send him into the box. Jarrett re-enters the match and goes after Killings whilst Harris and Raven brawl inside the confines of the penalty box. </li><li>Their brawl eventually hits the ring, where Raven lands a DDT and sends Harris quickly back to the box. Killings goes after Raven, but the distraction allows Jarrett to land the Stroke and means that all five men are now eligible to win. </li><li>Russo refuses to hand the belt to Jarrett; allowing AJ to roll Jarrett up with a school boy to send him back to the box. </li><li>Raven sends Styles crashing face first into the side of the penalty box; while Harris is back out of the box and trying to hang the title. The Truth protects his reign by pushing the ladder and sending the Wildcat crashing into a table at ringside. </li><li>Jarrett returns to the contest with his guitar in hand; he swings at the Champion – but connects with the head of Raven instead. Jarrett gets an Axe Kick for his troubles and the Truth is left all alone with the title in hand. Week 1 June 2004 Predictions

My plans for the Prediction's contest are to have one contest spanning every two months of game-time; so that's means 8 PPVs and 8 Impacts. The winner will be the person with the highest accuracy percentage over these 16 shows (but they can only qualify if they've predicted on a minimum of 4 shows). The winner will get to choose one current TNA star who they feel deserves a better push. (Obviously it will be relative; don't expect Shark Boy to become World Champion if you pick him)

I'd just like to say thanks for the comments so far; they're all appreciated. I've simmed the first 3 weeks and so far there have some interesting twists with regards to some unexpected people leaving for the WWE - and a very annoying injury. But more on those in the coming weeks; as I mentioned there will be very limited backstage postings - but it will be obvious on-screen when someone is leaving and/or injured, etc.

The next PPV preview will be up soon; any thoughts or comments on the style of posting (ie. PPV Preview / PPV Results + Impact Preview / Impact Results + Xplosion) is this a good fit? any other comments/thoughts are welcomed..

After the explosive debut of TNA Impact last week we will see the new World Tag Team Champions America’s Most Wanted defend their titles against the challenge of the young team The Naturals. Also, after they made their presence felt on Friday Jeff Jarrett’s Elite Guard will take on the 3 Live Kru of NWA Champion Ron Killings, BG James and Konnan. After the controversial finish to the X-Division four-way we will have an official decision on the Number One Contender whilst Sonjay Dutt takes on Chris Sabin. Elsewhere, Team Canada continues their efforts against Jerry Lynn – who teams with Hector Garza and The Amazing Red. After the New York Connection attacked Sonny Siaki one week ago, they must face the Samoan and his unlikely partner Pat Kenney in tag team action.

All this and more; only on pay-per-view this Wednesday night!

I think the style you're using is working quite well. I do have one question, though: are you planning to stick with the weekly PPVs long-term in addition to the TV show? I have not used a weekly PPV schedule since EWR (back when TNA still ran the weekly PPVs in reality), but I do seem to remember that it wasn't a good idea to do both back then. Is it different now?

I've not done much testing to see whether it's a good idea or not if I'm honest..

However, I do plan on keeping with the PPV's alongside Impact for the time being. I'm torn between doing a similar phasing out as TNA did in reality; so ending the weekly schedule in September and building towards Victory Road in November.. Or keeping the schedule more long term until I can legitimately get a better TV deal for Impact (as FSN is pants)..

If I do go to the monthly PPV route I shall probably go the ECW route and have 6 events per year as I dont feel like I can build a 3-hour PPV card every month with just Impact (as Xplosion is only seen in the South East so it's not really any use at all)

The big positive of the weekly PPV is that I can spread big matches out over the weeks.. so I can have an X-Title match headline one week and an NWA Title match the next..

It's probably going to be one of those things that I wait to make a decision on and see how things unfold as I get a few months into this thing..

A Play of the day for Storm and the Angel’s Wings for Harris leave the Champions out – and Triple X firmly back in the title picture. Kazarian keeps the pressure on the challenger, but Styles has plenty of fight left in him as the pair go to war. </li><li> Kazarian gets a near fall early on with the Wave of the Future; but AJ manages to just about kick out after two. </li><li> The momentum shifts back and forth, with AJ then coming close with a Styles Clash but being unsuccessful in his hopes of a three count. </li><li> Styles puts Kazarian down and heads up to the top rope in an effort to repeat his earlier victory; he launches off the top rope with the Spiral Tap – but eats the canvas as the Champion rolls to safety. </li><li> Kazarian looks to take advantage but the Wave of the Future is reversed and AJ lands the Styles Clash from out of nowhere. He makes the cover; but Frankie manages to hang on to his title again as he slides his shoulder up just before the three, </li><li> Styles heads up to the top rope again; but Frankie follows him. They battle on the top rope; with the Future eventually getting the edge – hitting a scary looking Flux Capacitor from the top rope. Kazarian crawls to the cover but Styles kicks out again. </li><li> The pair slug it out again until Michael Shane runs down to the ring; he climbs onto the apron but is quickly met by a Pele kick from AJ.
