….Necromancer and Devilfish fought in a tough battle over the right to be called the ZEN Master. Using the same dark magic that got Necromancer into the championship match, Necromancer was able to come out on top and as the new ZEN Master....

...Halloween Knight has been promising a fifth extreme agent of the revolution, with vague threats levelled towards X-Calibre about how the newest agent would help destroy ZEN and rebuild the promotion in F.E.A.R's image...

...Pumpkin Jack has been a fighting ZEN Conceptual champion, fighting off talent such as Mirror Universe John Gordon, C-W-A, Pink Spider and Damian Dastardly until ZEN Way of The Thief where Guru Vishni attempted to steal the Conceptual championship belt from Pumpkin Jack. In a shocking move the belt split into seven different shards, each shard finding its way to a member of the ZEN roster. The only known holders of these shards are Pumpkin Jack, Damian Dastardly and Mirror Universe John Gordon...

...The Knights Temple burst onto the ZEN Harmony scene, almost capturing the championships from Cyanide & Massacre in July 2012. Two months after Cyanide & Massacre lost the championships, The Knights Temple scored an upset win over the duo. Both teams have been at war ever since, a war with no end in sight...

OOC Note

Hi, I'm MichiganHero and you might remember me from my still-going work in Gureisu Pro. Well, I decided that I wanted to see how far I can take my favourite CVerse promotion before overheating my brain from sheer exhaustion. :p

Shows will be posted usually at the weekend with show previews being posted on a Wednesday and a further "bump" post on a Friday. These will be similar to the Event Centres I do in Gureisu Pro but with less of the talky bits from an announcer.

My aim is to "flesh out" as many characters as possible in the ZENiverse (That is totally the fan name by the way. Thought of it all by myself [i think so anyways] :D)

I'd like to thank a few folks here for inspiration and such, so in no particular order early thanks go out to;

Eisen-Verse, the man who is the leader in characterisation in my eyes. The way he fleshes out characters is something I aim to emulate here in this lil' thing.

Phantom Stranger whose criminally under-rated Paragons Of Wrestling: Bring Me The Head of Kay Fabe is an inspiration to me in the way I think out storylines. If you haven't read it already, please go do so! :)

jhd1, Tiberious4, MJStark and everyone else who has helped with Gureisu Pro so far. Whilst it seems odd I'm thanking them here, these guys have helped me strive to work on that and I'm positive I can carry the same attitude over to ZEN.

Last but not least, John Lions who I completely stole the idea for the "Previously on ZEN" from. His work can be read here!

<p>ZEN is the bomb. I suck at booking for ZEN, but I absolutely love the characters and everyone there. I'm pretty excited to see what you do with everyone! I haven't gotten the chance to look at the 2013 ZEN, so I'm sure these predictions will be terrible</p><p> </p><p>

<em>Random pairing vs. team with name, taking my chances here</em></p><p> </p><p>

SubUrban Legend vs <strong>Massacre</strong></p><p>

<em>Massacre is probably my favorite in ZEN and I don't know why</em></p><p> </p><p>

<p>ZEN is one of those promotions that will always catch my interest, the characters are just too much fun.</p><p> </p><p>

Blue Flea & Craig Pheonix vs <strong>Warp Jump</strong></p><p>

<em>Named team over random pairing.</em></p><p> </p><p>

SubUrban Legend vs <strong>Massacre</strong></p><p>

<em>F.E.A.R´s big guy picks up the win over rookie.</em></p><p> </p><p>

Killer B vs <strong>Cyanide</strong></p><p>

<em>Not completely sure about how over Killer B is but I figure that Cyanide is more established guy from these two.</em></p><p> </p><p>

Super Zero vs <strong>C-W-A</strong></p><p>

<em>Coin flip, I go with C-W-A simply because he´s the singles guy while Zero is tag guy.</em></p><p> </p><p>

<em>This one is complete guess as I really have no idea.</em></p><p> </p><p>

Eisen-Verse, the man who is the leader in characterisation in my eyes. The way he fleshes out characters is something I aim to emulate here in this lil' thing.

Thank you, MichiganHero!
:D

I appreciate the nod. The process of fleshing out characters makes a world of difference when it comes to creating a 3-D environment versus a flat booking scenario. I'm sure you'll do the same here!

I don't know the first thing about ZEN. That said, I've ALWAYS had a lot of interest in who they are. With that said, I'm going to learn about the company while watching you create your own version of such. With that said, I'm going to wait to predict until the next show. Maybe I'll have a better idea then.

It all started way back when I was a young boy, eager to take on the world. Whilst out galavanting one night, a bright light grabbed me and took me into the sky. This light took me to my mentor. He taught me everything I know about magic, about wrestling and about you Guru Vishni. You see, my mentor has been watching you since you started your nefarious ways here in ZEN. But there was a price to these teachings. I had to give up my humanity, much like your lackey has been forced to give up his own morality when you sucked him through the trans-dimensional wormhole, replacing the once honest man that stood as a protector of ZEN. Guru Vishni, I will defeat your lackey and claim his shard. SubUrban Legend speaks first.</p><p> </p><p> <strong>SUL:</strong> “I'm not confident about my match this month. I got that big enforcer dude and honestly, I don't see myself having much a chance. A win over you puts me on the map as a serious wrestler. Someone who belongs in ZEN. Come Way of The Dreamer, you'll see exactly why they call me the SubUrban Legend.”</p><p> </p><p> <strong>KB:</strong> “Cyanide is one hell of a wrestler, I've watched him wrestle live and I've watched the tapes. I was the second ever person to graduate out of this fabled dojo. Me and SubUrban beat you as a team once, now is the time for us to prove we aren't just another tag team. Cyanide, you better put your A game on because once you hit that ring it's showtime.”</p><p> </p><p> SubUrban Legend and Killer B head off screen, presumably to talk tactics for their upcoming matches. Blue Flea & Craig Pheonix VS Warp-Jump

  • Hallowarped and Toady controlled the match from the outset, making sure that neither Blue Flea or Craig Pheonix really got into the match.
  • Hallowarped nearly cost his team the match however as he flipped out and repeatedly battered Blue Flea with a series of punches and kicks.
  • Toady was on hand to pull him off, forcibly throwing Hallowarped outside and then ascending to the top rope so that he could hit the Toad Splash for the win.

In an extremely poor match, Warp-Jump defeated Blue Flea and Craig Phoenix in 6:13 when Toady defeated Blue Flea by pinfall with a Toad Splash.

Massacre VS SubUrban Legend

  • The biggest mismatch on the card, SubUrban Legend on paper looked to have no chance against F.E.A.R's enforcer.
  • In the ring however Massacre was the one who had trouble. SubUrban Legend used his speed advantage to make sure Massacre couldn't touch him.
  • This worked for a few minutes until Massacre stood still and caught Legend off of a crossbody, slamming him into the mat with great force.
  • Massacre stood tall and used his power to keep Legend on the ground. However it was Legend who grabbed the win after Massacre missed a spear and hit the corner post.
  • With Massacre dazed, SubUrban Legend rolled him up for the surprise three count before diving out of the ring to celebrate.

In a match that had an average crowd reaction but featured terrible wrestling, SubUrban Legend defeated Massacre in 8:48 by pinfall with a quick roll up.

Cyanide VS Killer B

  • A much more even match-up than the previous match as Cyanide and Killer B locked horns. Both men went hold for hold, Killer B kept Cyanide on the mat for at least a minute with some impressive chain wrestling.
  • However once both men were up on their feet Cyanide took control of the match, using a combination of lethal strikes and power moves to wear down Killer B.
  • Killer B didn't have any opportunity to get back into the match and he eventually fell to a Skull Splitter from Cyanide.

In a match that had an average crowd reaction but featured terrible wrestling, Cyanide defeated Killer B in 8:44 by pinfall with a Skull Splitter.

C-W-A VS Super Zero

  • Super Zero was his usual emotionless self as he headed out. C-W-A offered him a handshake when he entered the ring. Super Zero naively accepted the handshake and felt the effects of a joybuzzer shocking him.
  • C-W-A looked more aggressive than usual in the ring, stomping and punching away at Super Zero with reckless abandon and with evil laughter behind every move.
  • Super Zero nearly silenced C-W-A with a kick to the throat that came almost out of instinct. C-W-A seemed incredibly angry at this, grabbing the masked warrior and planting him with the Clown Killer Deluxe for the pinfall victory.

In a match that had an average crowd reaction but featured terrible wrestling, C-W-A defeated Super Zero in 9:15 by pinfall.

Damien Dastardly w/ Guru Vishni VS Pink Spider VS Shaolin VS Vertigo

  • Shaolin attempted to bow to each man in the match, getting as far as Vertigo before Damian Dastardly ran across the ring and attempted to roll the ninja warrior up for the win.
  • The attempt was broken up by both Pink Spider and Vertigo who teamed up to throw the young man out of the ring.
  • The alliance between Pink Spider and Vertigo was short-lived however as they both turned on each other, colliding with each other in mid-air as they attempted to clothesline the other man.
  • Shaolin noticed this and tried for a pinfall however Guru Vishni, Damian Dastardly and Steven Yale were engaged in a conversation about referee ethics.
  • Shaolin marched over and spun Dastardly around, who poked Shaolin in the only visible part of his face (his eyes) before going for the most Dastardly and Cunning move in ZEN. Vertigo had other thoughts about this, breaking the move up.
  • In Shaolin's blind rage though, he turned around and delivered the Death Touch to both Vertigo and Damian Dastardly. Pink Spider – who was outside of the ring admiring himself in a handheld mirror – rolled into the ring and threw Shaolin out. Covering the clearly dead form of Damian Dastardly, the win was academic.

In a bout that had solid in-ring action but not much in the way of heat, Pink Spider defeated Damian Dastardly, Vertigo and Shaolin in 8:37 when Pink Spider defeated Damian Dastardly by pinfall.

Guru Vishni called out for Mirror Universe John Gordon to come out to the ringside to help Damian from the ring. Mirror Universe John Gordon came out, looking more agitated than usual and demanding that he be given Damian's shard. After Damian was seated uncomfortably in an empty seat in the front row, Vishni began to address the matter at hand – that of the upcoming Conceptual championship match between Mirror Universe John Gordon and Pumpkin Jack.

GV: “7 shards of meaning unknown. I have two in my possession. One orange in colour and the other green. You, Pumpkin Jack, you also have one. I have not yet concluded my research but something is telling me I need your shard to resolve this in my favour. That is why my “lackey” will be destroying you tonight. Once I have your shard then I shall seek out the other 4 shards. When all of this is done, I will have unlimited power. Pumpkin Jack, please do not get in the way of Enlightenment. If you do, I do not take the blame for what shall happen to you in both the spiritual world and in the real world. You have been warned”

Mirror Universe John Gordon VS Pumpkin Jack

  • Pumpkin Jack was fired up by Guru Vishni's words and took it straight to the man from the mirror universe.
  • Gordon was unable to cope with the offence, every time he looked to have a chance he would make a bee-line for Pumpkin Jack's shard – the only pure and unchanged shard left of the ZEN Conceptual championship.
  • Jack used this to his advantage and played matador with it, waving it in front of John Gordon's face and waiting for him to charge before moving at the last minute. This unbelievably happened four times, Gordon going into each corner of the ring before realising what was going on.
  • Taking the opportunity he had to finish the match, Pumpkin Jack snuck up behind John Gordon as he was recovering from the last ringpost smash and got him into position for the Orange Bowl. John Gordon came crashing down and three seconds later, Pumpkin Jack was in possession of two shards of the ZEN Conceptual Championship.

In a match that had an average crowd reaction and some decent in-ring action, Pumpkin Jack defeated Mirror Universe John Gordon in 8:35 by pinfall with an Orange Bowl. Pumpkin Jack gains Mirror Universe John Gordon's shard.

As Guru Vishni and his charges – Damian slung over John Gordon's shoulder – Pumpkin Jack was examining his newly acquired shard. He wasn't examining it for long as C-W-A rushed into the ring and began assaulting the Mythical Pumpkin Master. The attack was swift and brutal with C-W-A almost having super strength. On his way out, the audience got a flash at what may have given the clown his strength. It was another shard of the ZEN Conceptual Championship, this time the shard was a bright red in colour.

ZEN MASTER CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH

http://i1342.photobucket.com/albums/o765/Wrestlesaurus_X/ZEN%20-%20Art%20of%20Wrestling/Necromancer.jpghttp://i1342.photobucket.com/albums/o765/Wrestlesaurus_X/ZEN%20-%20Art%20of%20Wrestling/vs.jpghttp://i1342.photobucket.com/albums/o765/Wrestlesaurus_X/ZEN%20-%20Art%20of%20Wrestling/Devilfish.jpg

Necromancer © VS Devilfish

  • Devilfish came out to a huge crowd reaction, the ZEN Universe firmly behind the Master of Mischief. Necromancer came out to the opposite reaction which he seemed to enjoy.
  • In the early goings of the match both men were apprehensive about attacking, each man trying to look for weak points in the other.
  • Eventually Devilfish started off with a beautiful hurricanrana that sent Necromancer reeling on the ropes.
  • Devilfish followed this up with a dropkick that sent the ZEN Master to the outside. A follow-up suicide dive was blocked by Necromancer however as he clubbed the flying fish in the head as he got through the ropes.
  • Necromancer almost had the Death Scream performed, Devilfish reversing at the last minute to keep his hopes of being the ZEN Master again alive.
  • With Devilfish on the offensive again Necromancer reached into his bag of tricks, chanting something in Latin that made Devilfish stop in this tracks. Swaggering over to the stunned serpent of the sea, Necromancer clearly thought he had the match won.
  • That was until Devilfish rolled him up in a small package, evidently taking lessons from Pumpkin Jack to ward off Necromancer's spells.
  • Whilst being able to ward off his spells was good, nothing could prepare Devilfish for the horrors that occurred next. With Necromancer looking scared, Devilfish approached him, eager to knock him down to size. Playing to the crowd Devilfish never seen Necromancer grab a large box until it was too late.
  • Placing the box on Devilfish's head, Necromancer actively planned on suffocating Devilfish by trapping his head in a box with no holes. Devilfish struggled with the box eventually freeing himself whilst looking rather pleased with himself for doing so, turning around to Necromancer to taunt the evil druid of F.E.A.R...
  • ...only to be met with a boot to the gut and the Death Scream from Necromancer.

In a bout that had a good crowd and some decent in-ring action, Necromancer defeated Devilfish in 14:26 by submission with a Death Scream. Necromancer makes defence number 3 of his ZEN Master title.

Halloween Knight made his way to the ring, congratulating Necromancer on an evil job well done. Hushing the crowd that was baying for his goblin blood, Halloween Knight began to speak into the microphone he magically conjured up.

Without further ado, please give it up for the newest member of F.E.A.R and my partner. Hailing all the way from Parts Unknown Hotel on Bled Isle, he is the most feared creature north of the equator, he is Dragon Mantis!”

X-War © VS Ultimate F.E.A.R.

  • The brawl inside the ring raged on for a good few minutes with neither team giving any ground up. Man O' War knocked Halloween Knight to the outside, Dragon Mantis following this up with a dive on top of Man O' War.
  • Not wanting to be outdone, X-Calibre took the skies as well, wiping out both members of F.E.A.R and his own partner.
  • Dragon Mantis was the first man to his feet out of the melee and dragged Man O' War into the ring with him. The next minute and a half was uncomfortable to watch as Man O' War was attacked from every direction, Dragon Mantis never relented with his attacks.
  • It was only when X-Calibre hit a perfect springboard dropkick that Dragon Mantis stopped his attacks but by this time, it looked like it was a handicap match with the two agents of F.E.A.R against X-Calibre.
  • X-Calibre fought as hard as he could but eventually he fell to the numbers game. Dragon Mantis dropped him with a vicious looking Brainbuster before rolling out of the ring – lucha tags being allowed in ZEN.
  • This allowed Halloween Knight to apply the Pumpkin Patch to X-Calibre and it wasn't long before the master of the springboard attacks tapped out.

In a bout that had a good crowd and some decent in-ring action, Halloween Knight and Dragon Mantis defeated X-War in 14:03 when Halloween Knight defeated X-Calibre by submission with a Pumpkin Patch. Halloween Knight and Dragon Mantis win the ZEN Harmony titles.

So, em. Yeah. This ain't Sunday is it. A bit ambitious from me there. :p

Basically what happened is my uncle died unexpectedly and that pretty much killed any motivation I had to write. I got my "mojo" back earlier on this week for my TEW stuff so ZEN lives on!

Predictions Results

Boltinho - 7/8

Jingo - 7/8

kanegan - 6/8

Midnightnick - 6/8

Zergon - 6/8

Huntman - 5/8

CageRage - 4/8

TheEffect - 4/8

Tiberious4 - 4/8

Nice set of results with no perfect scores. I'd be worried if I was super predictable with the first show but I'd also be worried if everyone got the results wrong. ¬_¬

Boltinho and Jingo take an early lead but with 11 events left everything can change.

Prediction Prize

The number one predictor POINTS WISE will be able to select a worker for me to hire and give them a storyline! I reserve the right to nix any storylines (only if they interfere with storylines I have planned which right now sits at one long term one.)

Post Show Thoughts

1) I love ZEN's characters. I find them easy to write spots for - Devilfish's near death experience & Shaolin's Death Touch are two examples.

2) Credit to kamchatka for the Dragon Mantis picture and to codey for the idea for the vs picture which I shamelessly stole from his wonderful From The Ashes of the Mid Atlantic dynasty. Go check it out, it's relatively new but well worth the read.

ZEN Special Report

http://i1342.photobucket.com/albums/o765/Wrestlesaurus_X/ZEN%20-%20Art%20of%20Wrestling/ZEN2.jpg

Plenty of pretty girls in bikinis and men in expensive suits are busy hustling and bustling around Palm Beach International Airport, a strange mix of tourists, overtanned locals and businessmen. One man in particular stands out amongst the crowd, particularly due to his choice of headgear. Seeing the camera he walks over and begins to speak.

"America wasn't ready for a revolution. I tried to teach them the ways of puroresu but all they wanted were frauds and cheats. Typical American wrestling. I grew up watching puroresu. I've spent years making it my own style, my own weapon in the war against "entertainers". Florida Bay International Pro Wrestling? They are nothing now. So I've looked around. Got my eyes on one place in particular."

An announcement comes over the airport tannoy system announcing that flight 26514 to Auckland, New Zealand was ready to be checked in. The man departs to check in.

The ZEN feed rejoins the man in the departures lounge of the airport, a spacious area with plenty of places for drinks, coffee and pre-flight nerves to kick in.

He begins to speak once more.

"ZEN. The new internet favourites, a place where man, fish, clown, goblin or ninja can thrive. They are the kind of people I fight against. After Florida turned its back on me, I decided to take my campaign to new places. ZEN, be warned. At Way of The Scholar, I'm issuing a challenge to any one of your so-called wrestlers to meet a true expert in the ring.

Suppose I should tell you who I am first. My name is Alan Parent and I'm taking Team Puroresu international."

http://i1342.photobucket.com/albums/o765/Wrestlesaurus_X/ZEN%20-%20Art%20of%20Wrestling/AlanParent.jpg

The man now identified as the leader of Team Puroresu walks away with a confident swagger, the swagger of a man who believes he can truly make a change in professional wrestling.

OOC: I did some editor movement after seeing a website article about how Alan Parent was being talked about on radio about being a future superstar. I decided I wanted him in ZEN with the character Charismatic Enigma started to flesh out in his amazing Operation Lullaby dynasty which has sadly now ended. I couldn't let #TeamPuroresu die and so it's moved to New Zealand. :p

Also, I'm glad the one star (and possibly one-armed) bandit likes my work. :p
