[Effverse: NRFPT] Am I ready for Prime Time?

<p>May 1984</p><p> </p><p>

- WotW tour ends and Guillermo Caballero, Corey Crash and Guillermo Roman left the company.</p><p> </p><p>

- Kobo Kondo & Akinori Chikamatsu win the vacant UBBP National Tag Team titles. The titles were vacated since one half of the former tag champions Blais Savard left the company after his touring contract ended.</p><p> </p><p>

- WotW starts to gear up for their next tour and as usual that means touring contract. Here are the guys who get signed this time:</p><p> </p><p>

</p><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">o David Navarro, Age: 21, Style: Luchador, Size: Middleweight. Navarro was just signed by GLLM in last month and this is his second tour with WotW.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

o Samuel Gibson, Age: 24, Style: Entertainer, Size: Middleweight. Gibson seems to be one of those go-to guys for Japanese promotions as this is his 4th tour total (2 with WotW and 1 with UBBP before this one). Gibson also currently works in SW where he is doing rather well, being an upper midcard guy currently.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

o David Marcos, Age: 19, Style: Regular Wrestler, Size: Lightweight. Marcos has been in one UBBP tour before this one.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

o Edwin Keith, Age: 22, Style: Regular Wrestler, Size: Heavyweight. Keith, like everyone else signed so far, has previous touring experience as he was in WotW tour between August 1983 and November 1983.</div><p></p><p> </p><p>

- VPN signs Corey Crash to bolster their roster. Age: 24, Style: Regular Wrestler, Size: Lightweight.</p><p> </p><p>

- CSW let Sara Tonen go. Tonen had a record of 3 wins, 1 draw and 10 losses during her stay and have had only 8 matches in the company after 1981.</p><p> </p><p>

- Orchid is also leaving from CSW. Orchid had a record of 2 wins 1 draw and 9 losses during her 4 years stay so she have been used pretty sparingly.</p><p> </p><p>

- CSW continues to clean their women division as Jackie Flash is also let go. Flash had a record of 4 wins, 1 draw and 7 losses so like Tonen and Orchid she haven´t been used much. Still I wonder how AI plans to replace them with no American based women workers in the marked (other than Rose, Savage and Faye who all already work in CSW).</p><p> </p><p>

- Jerry DeVille walks out from OPW making it a second company he has left in his 4 years career. DeVille had record of 13 wins and 23 losses during his stay. He had been working with OPW since January 1981.</p><p> </p><p>

- Chauncey Tremblay ends Karlis Poirier´s TPro Heavyweight title run after 5 successful defenses.</p><p> </p><p>

- Deverel David and Leone Martin win TPro National Tag Team titles from Talon Nadeau and Blais Savard who only managed 1 successful defense before dropping the belt.</p><p> </p><p>

- Charlie Lane is let go by CSW as well. Lane has been working with the company ever since July 1980 and had record of 3 wins and 11 losses during his time there.</p><p> </p><p>

- Karlis Poirier and Raul York won GCW Tag Team titles from Special Edition (Garlan Roberts & Sauville Caron) who had 10 successful title defenses during their reign that started in September 1982. This is second time that York holds GCW tag belts as he was the initial champion alongside Loyal Caron but that team is broken by now as Caron has been risen to main event ranks and is current GCW Canadian Champion.</p><p> </p><p>

- Quint Bertrand did become new CFW Heavyweight champion last night when he defeated Carl Cooper for the title. Cooper had 12 successful defenses before dropping the belt.</p><p> </p><p>

- OPW signs Nelson Maverick to bolster their roster. Age: 30, Style: Regular Wrestler, Size: Middleweight. Nelson Maverick works in CSW as well and had been working in OPW (and TPW where he was cut in February 1982) before between January 1981 and January 1983. Despite working long time in all three biggest American companies he has never hold a single title belt to this date.</p><p> </p><p>

- Micah Stark and Paris Young won the vacant CSW Tag Team titles that have been vacant ever since June 1983. Maybe they will be the first team in CSW´s history that manages to have at least one successful defense before dropping the belts.</p>

<p>June 1984</p><p> </p><p>

- Robert Brooks founds All Out Wrestling (Size: local, area: Central British Isles, Key feature: none, Heavy: Traditional, Pure). If AOW manages to survive to small size, I would expect them to eventually take the top UK promotion spot from ECW. Brooks also works in ECW so will be interesting to see if this hurts his ECW career.</p><p> </p><p>

- TPW signs pair of graduates to fill their roster. Adrian Jo, Age: 21, Style: Cruiserweight, Size: Lightweight and Walter Ryland, Age: 17, Style: Cruiserweight, Size: Middleweight are the new signees.</p><p> </p><p>

- Christopher Stiller was cut from TPW´s roster to make way for new graduates. Stiller was in TPW for less than a year (joined in October 1983) and had a record of 5 wins and 20 losses.</p><p> </p><p>

- AOW hold their first show and rise to small size immediately. </p><p> </p><p>

- Adam Jones becomes first AOW Global (their main belt) champ.</p><p> </p><p>

- Billy Cooper is the new AOW National champion.</p><p> </p><p>

- Foxy Faye starts her third run as CSW Womens champ as she defeats Scarlett Rose for the title. Rose had 6 successful defenses before dropping the belt.</p><p> </p><p>

- Minnie Savage starts her first title run as she won the TPW Women´s belt from Orchid. Orchid had 12 successful defenses before dropping the belt.</p><p> </p><p>

- Nelson Maverick, who just signed a contract with OPW gets some bad news as he´s not going to get another contract from CSW. Maverick had been in CSW since July 1982 and had a record of 3 wins and 5 losses (only eight matches in two years?).</p><p> </p><p>

- Yumako Ekiguchi becomes the new GCW Womens champion (lots of women titles changing hands this month). Former champion Adalicia Garner had 9 successful defenses before dropping the belt.</p><p> </p><p>

- CSW signs Jim Hall to contract. Age: 23, Style: Brawler, Size: Big Heavyweight. Hall haven´t have much success in USA so far but he is part of SW´s roster. He has also been touring with WotW twice back in 1981 and 1982.</p><p> </p><p>

- OPW takes advantage of recent cuts in CSW´s women division as both Orchid (Age: 24, Style: Regular Wrestler, Size: Small) and Jackie Flash (Age: 33, Style: Entertainer, Size: Small) are signed to contract by OPW (third girl that was cut, Sara Tonen, was already in their roster).</p><p> </p><p>

- CSW continues to bolster their roster after recent cuts, this time Floyd Lauzon was signed to contract. Age: 23, Style: Regular Wrestler, Size: Middleweight. Lauzon is former TPW (June 1980 to October 1980) and OPW (January 1981 to November 1983) star, though I´m not sure if star is a right world to describe a guy with career record of 7 wins and 31 losses.</p><p> </p><p>

- Moore Correira loses his SW #1 Contender title after 3 successful defenses. The new champion is Roy Hackney.</p><p> </p><p>

Here is AOW´s starting roster:</p><p> </p><p>

- Adam Jones, Age: 24, Style: Regular Wrestler, Size: Middleweight. Jones is main event guy in ECW and has the same role in AOW. He´s one of the very few guys in UK that have managed to climb on F overness in ECW´s home area.</p><p> </p><p>

- Billy Cooper, Age: 19, Style: Regular Wrestler, Size: Middleweight. Cooper debuted in December 1982 and this is his first job opportunity.</p><p> </p><p>

- Brendon Race, Age: 21, Style: Regular Wrestler, Size: Light Heavyweight. Much like Cooper, this is Race´s first job after his debuted in October 1982.</p><p> </p><p>

- Cecil King, Age: 20, Style: Entertainer, Size: Middleweight. King is still in his rookie year and this is his first chance in “big” promotion.</p><p> </p><p>

- Clyde Stanley, Age: 23, Style: Brawler, Size: Lightweight. Stanley spend two years in ECW but was released in 1983 and looks to get his career back on track in AOW.</p><p> </p><p>

- Edgar Lyttle, Age: 20, Style: Regular Wrestler, Size: Middleweight. Another guy who has his first job in AOW, Lyttle has been in the game world since June 1982 and is one of those guys who can now work anywhere in the world.</p><p> </p><p>

- Francis Alvares, Age: 20, Style: Regular Wrestler, Size: Middleweight. Another first timer who hopes to get his career going.</p><p> </p><p>

- Frank Ward, Age: 23, Style: Regular Wrestler, Size: Middleweight. Ward has been working in ECW since September 1982 and is currently considered as upper midcard guy for them and is their current Rising Star champion too.</p><p> </p><p>

- Howard Cummo, Age: 20, Style: Brawler, Size: Super Heavyweight. Cummo is another one of those guys who gets their first job opportunity here.</p><p> </p><p>

- Jeff Burnett, Age: 21, Style: Regular Wrestler, Size: Heavyweight. Debuted in April 1983 and is another guy who haven´t worked anywhere so far.</p><p> </p><p>

- Jesse Luger, Age: 23, Style: Brawler, Size: Lightweight. It´s hard to call 23 years old guy as a veteran but really, in UK standards Luger is a veteran as he has worked in ECW since July 1981. Luger is a midcard guy in ECW and former Rising Star champion and with average ratings everywhere he looks like a career midcard guy at this point.</p><p> </p><p>

- Leon Monk, Age: 22, Style: Cruiserweight, Size: Lightweight. Another familiar guy from ECW, Monk has been there since December 1981 and is considered as upper midcard guy currently. </p><p> </p><p>

- Robert Brooks, Age: 21, Style: Regular Wrestler, Size: Super Heavyweight. Owner of AOW and bit of a backstage politician so expect him to be at top in AOW. He´s also holds a upper midcard position in ECW where he has been working since September 1981 and have had quite a success lately as he´s their current Number #1 Contender and Tag Team champion.</p><p> </p><p>

- Scott Swick, Age: 25, Style: Regular Wrestler, Size: Middleweight. You might remember Swick from my GWE run as he was there for a year before I let him walk. He has been working in ECW ever since they debuted in July 1981 but other than his 1 month ECW British Champion reign back in 1981 he haven´t had any success there either and is currently considered as opener.</p><p> </p><p>

- Ted Turnbull, Age: 18, Style: Regular Wrestler, Size: Light Heavyweight. Rookie who gets his first opportunity here.</p><p> </p><p>

- Turner Esch, Age: 23, Style: Technician, Size: Lightweight. Certainly familiar name to anyone who followed my GWE run as Esch is two times (and current) GWE Championship belt holder and their biggest star (by the way AI have managed to raise his overness in Scandinavia to E+ in just few months) ever since the company was founded back in February 1982. Esch also worked in ECW between July 1981 and March 1982 but left after argument with Battle Axe. I expect hom to be one of the main stars in AOW too but only time will tell if that will actually happen.</p><p> </p><p>

Non-Wrestlers:</p><p> </p><p>

- Brad Griffin, Age: 38, Road Agent</p><p>

- Carl Bagwell, Age: 24, Referee</p><p>

- Jared Crockett, Age: 21, Colour Commentator</p><p>

- Lisa Brendon, Age: 38, Road Agent</p><p>

- Luis Lopez: Age: 22, Announcer</p><p>

- Massimo Costa, Age: 23, Colour Commentator</p><p> </p><p>

So, pretty interesting starting roster with lots of untested rookies coupled with few of the bigger names from AOW. There were also few familiar names from my GWE run, mainly Turner Esch but also two of the guys who I ended up kicking out in Scott Swick and colour commentator Massimo Costa. AOW holds shows in same area than ECW and I expect that to help ECW as well since guys like Adam Jones, Jesse Luger and Leon Monk are more likely to get some overness from their AOW runs than in ECW. Wouldn´t be surprised if ECW eventually starts hiring lots of AOW talent just to get some guys who have above F- overness in their home area.</p>

<p>July 1984</p><p> </p><p>

- Shinsuke wins UBBP Universal title belt from Sadakuno Okamura. Okamura had 12 successful defenses before dropping the belt.</p><p> </p><p>

- VPW signs rookie Paul Bailey to p.p.a deal. Age: 18, Style: Brawler, Size: Middleweight.</p><p> </p><p>

- Fernando Calvo become the new Campeón Mundia de Completo GLLM champion after defeating Juan Blanco. Blanco had 15 successful defenses setting a new record for most successful defenses with GLLM main belt. Previous record was 11 successful defenses shared by Rafael Ramirez and Juan Blanco (both are two times title holders by the way).</p><p> </p><p>

- Karlis Poirier becomes new TPro Television champ after defeating owner Jim Carter for the title. Carter had 7 successful defenses before dropping the belt. Poirier is former TPro Heavyweight champion (their main belt) too so looks like AI is having lots of faith on him even if he have dropped from main event status to upper midcard.</p><p> </p><p>

- CSW signs Dean Vechio to contract. Age: 21, Style: Entertainer, Size: Heavyweight. Vechio also works in TPW and unlike other computer generated guys he has managed to gain a little bit of overness as he has F overness in 6 of the 11 areas in USA (not much, I know, but it´s better than nothing and TPW has been horrible at gaining overness for their stars).</p><p> </p><p>

- Shocking news today as 21 years old Kosaku Shiga informs that he´s retiring from active wrestling and becomes a road agent because of an injury. This is huge loss for Japanese wrestling scene as Shiga was one of the most popular stars in both UBBP and WotW and was 11th at the power 500 just last year.</p><p> </p><p>

- Akahito Aizawa becomes two times WotW #1 Contender champion when he defeated another two times champion Tadayuki Ichisada. Ichisada had 6 successful defenses before dropping the belt.</p>

<p>August 1984</p><p> </p><p>

- WotW ends their current tour and so Edwin Keith, David Marcos, Samuel Gibson and David Navarro are all out from the promotion.</p><p> </p><p>

- UBBP tour also ends and with that, Arnold Fraser, Leonardo Marcos and Tommy Regal leave the company.</p><p> </p><p>

- TPW signs Titan Factory graduate Charlie Robinson to contract. Age: 19, Style: Technician, Size: Lightweight.</p><p> </p><p>

- And the most important news of the day, which is that Leone Martin (Canadian wrestler who currently works in TPro) opened Port City Wrestling Federation (PCWF). Size: Small, Location: Puerto Rico, Key Feature; Modern. I immediately send my job application there, now I just have to hope that I get the booker position there.</p><p> </p><p>

- TPW fire Eddie Savage from their roster. Savage didn´t spend too much time in the company as he was signed in December 1983 and had a record of 5 wins and 14 losses during his stay.</p><p> </p><p>

- Wotw starts their usual signing phase for next tour, here´s everyone who got signed this time:</p><p> </p><p>

</p><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">o Federico Morales, Age: 21, Style: Luchador, Size: Middleweight. This is second WotW tour for Morales who also currently works in GLLM.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

o Jose Slater, Age: 24, Style: Regular Wrestler, Size: Middleweight. Slater worked in TPW for a short while in 1980 and 1981 but after that he´s only jobs have been two previous tours in WotW.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

o Ron Davis, Age: 22, Style: Regular Wrestler, Size: Middleweight. Davis is also starting to become a regular guy in tours as this is his third. Davis also works in VPW.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

o Clinton Horn, Age: 21, Style: Regular Wrestler, Size: Middleweight. This is Horn´s second tour in WotW.</div><p></p><p> </p><p>

- UBBP also signed guys for their next tour, here´s the usual rundown about who got signed:</p><p> </p><p>

</p><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">o Corey Crash, Age: 24, Style: Regular Wrestler, Size: Lightweight. You all know Crash by now, he has been in multiple tours in Japan and works for both GWE and VPW as well.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

o Edwin Keith, Age: 22, Style: Regular Wrestler, Size: Heavyweight. Keith haven´t found job opportunities in USA yet but he has been in two WotW tours before this one and has been doing pretty well in there.</div><p></p><p> </p><p>

- VPW hired rookie Andrew Huey to bolster their roster. Age: 18, Style: Technician, Size: Lightweight.</p><p> </p><p>

- I did get the head booker position in PCWF which means that my next post will be roster post. I did cancel their first event as it was set to next night even though there is exactly two guys on the whole roster (me and owner Leone Martin). We will hold the first even at Sunday week 4. </p><p> </p><p>

- VPW continues to bolster their roster, this time with Timothy Petterson, Age: 19, Style: Regular Wrestler, Size: Middleweight.</p><p> </p><p>

- GCW bolsters their women division by signing rookie Lise Dubé to contract. Age: 20, Style: Regular Wrestler, Size: Small.</p><p> </p><p>

- Hector Castillo dies in car accident. Castillo was 21 years old Mexican wrestler who had been working with GLLM since April 1982. He was current GLLM Wrestling Spirit champion when he died.</p><p> </p><p>

- Jesse Batch wins VPW Top Contender title from Maurice Valentine who had 4 successful defenses before dropping the belt.</p><p> </p><p>

- GLLM are having contract negations period and they seem to be letting few guys go (might have missed few as I was pretty anxious to see if guys were signing the contract offers I send them). Namely Marcos Reyes and Diego Herrera seem to be on their way out. Both guys have worked for GLLM since October 1980, Reyes was a midcard guy with record of 19 wins and 35 losses, while Herrera was Opener with record of 16 wins and 32 losses. Neither man didn´t win any titles during their four year stay.</p><p> </p><p>

- NLE signs rookie wrestler Olaf Johansson to contract. Age: 20, Style: Regular Wrestler, Size: Middleweight.</p><p> </p><p>

- Shigetaka Akaike stormed his way out from UBBP. Sometimes I wonder if these incidents are completely random as there seem to be certain guys who just quit multiple times in few years and Akaike seems to be one of them (Nathan Tanner is another guy who I remember quitting in two different companies already) as this is second time he leaves a promotion on bad terms (the first being WotW back in March 1981). Akaike had a record of 70 wins, 3 draws and 76 losses during his UBBP career that started in August 1982. Akaike still works in FFA so at least he still has a job. </p><p> </p><p>

- Eugenio Herrera started his fourth reign as GLLM Wrestling Spirit champion when he won the title that was vacated after former champion Hector Castillo died in a car accident earlier this month. As a side note, 4 title reigns would be much more impressive record if it wouldn´t be a low level title as it just basically tells me that Herrera has never got past the curtain jerker role in GLLM.</p>

<p></p><div style="text-align:center;"><p>I have always been fascinated about how other people build their rosters so I figured I try something different this time and walk you through with the whole thinking process instead of just the end result. For those not caring about this stuff, you can find the final roster in my next post. So first of all, when I got the booker position there was just one guy on the roster and that´s Leone Martin, 22 years old Canadian wrestler who also works in TPro (and is one half of their current tag champs). Martin has strong In-ring and Physical skills (scouting level is just 1 though so that could mean pretty much anything) and is good backstage presence. He´s average match rating in TPro have been E- in 9 matches and he currently has F overness in their home area which is good enough for midcard position in TPro. Certainly not a bad guy to start with and while I don´t plan to have him in my main event scene he looks like useful midcard guy. Even better is that he´s already in a tag team with Deverel David and those two have strong friendship too so that makes the first addition to my roster pretty much no-brainer.</p><p> </p><p>

So Deverel David becomes the first man who I approached, he´s another good backstage presence and has strong in-ring and performance skills. He has also showed that he could collect some overness as he also works in TPro and and he´s current overness in Ontario (TPro home area) is F+ which is good enough for a main event position. David´s average match rating for his career is E- (9 matches in TPro plus 24 in CFW where he worked for two years) which is not bad considering that CFW haven´t exactly been a rating machine so far. Also David has tag team going with Martin and while they are still new team (F- experience), I figure they should gain experience faster than any random combination of guys I put together assuming that AI continues to pair the two of them together (with David being main event level player that might not happen). David can only play heel and since Martin is stronger heel than face too, I will set those two as heel tag team, and pencil them as midcard guys for now. David gets a three years offer since I see him and Martin being a backbone to my tag division.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

Next before we get into the real deal, let’s handle the boring part, which to me is hiring the non-wrestlers. I basically only have three real rules for those guys/girls. 1) You have to be half decent in our job, 2) You cannot be bad backstage influence and 3) you are preferably unemployed in order to avoid scheduling conflicts. There are two announcers that fill those criteria´s, Derek Kim who just debuted and Joe Erikson who has been in the game world since July 1980 but haven´t found a job so far. Kim would be good backstage presence while Erikson is antisocial (no other bad threats though so he´s not negative influence) but Erikson has strong announcing skills while Kim is only average so Erikson wins out and gets three years contract offer. Next would be colour commentator, there are only four available guys in total and all of them already work somewhere so the unemployed rule don´t count here. Howard Weidt works in three different companies while Curtiss Dubé works in two (and is bad backstage influence if I remember right as he was my colour guy back in GCW) so I cut them from the list leaving Arnold Hernandez and Raynard DuBois (who both work in TPro) as my options. Hernandez seems to be better backstage presence (humble, optimistic vs. DuBoises selfish, antisocial) so he gets the spot and the three year offer. For referee, we again got two guys who are unemployed and Roy Barnes wins out again because of him being better backstage guy than Beale Durand. So another three year offer goes to Barnes direction. Then a road agent and this is going to be a bit harder as only options are Big Rig (works in OPW and SW and is OPW´s head booker) and recently retired Kosagu Shiga (works in WotW and UBBP). With Shiga being extremely egoistic and only speaking Japanese, Big Rig seems like better option. However, not only is he head booker of OPW, but he also have four negative relationships with Battle Axe, Nathan Tanner, Floyd Layzon and Jerry DeVille. I don´t care about Tanner or Layzon and Battle Axe already works in TPW and ECW and is bit unlikely to sign a contract with me because of that but Jerry DeVille is one of those guys who I planned to sign. At the end, I decided to just bite the bullet and sign Big Rig anyway as he´s better option from the two and I can still sign DeVille if I really want to, though I probably skip him because of this. So another three year offers goes to Big Rigs way and we are finally done with the non-wrestlers part (I´m unlikely to sign any managers since there are just two available ones and they both already work in two companies.)</p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

So now it´s time to start looking about the main event guys. I filtered to just show every male wrestler (I will check females later on since we do have a women division too) that has the overness as regional or better. This gives me 24 guys who unsurprisingly all are the guys who were in the starting database. The plan is to pick six of these guys to help be my main event players though I´m not sure if anyone working for TPW and one other company is willing to sign a contract with me (which include most of those 24 guys). I did cut AJ Allstot, Bisho Black, Daniel Bone, Herc Ulysses, Jay Synn, Mauler McGregor and Shinsuke on the list based on the fact that they have above D- overness in USA and thus unlikely to sign with small promotion like PCWF. I also did cut Andre Oliver (Bad backstage presence and I just generally don´t like him), Battle Axe (bad relationship with Big Rig) and Reto Anderhub (already working in three companies including TPW so unlikely to sign with me) from the list. This left the following guys as possible main eventers: Big Brobatos, Big Ray Dubya, Blood Redd, Douglas Bryson, El Espíritu II, GLEE, Hugh Jass, Nelson Maverick, Puppet Master, Sean Maverick, Self, SKREEM, VooDude and Wrestle Man. I first turned my eyes to guy who I would want to be my top face, namely El Espíritu II (mainly because I liked Suarez a lot in the original EffVerse). He only works in TPW right now so he should be willing to sign with another company as well and while his skills don´t seem to be that great I believe he has enough skills and overness to be a decent main event guy for me. Next, I gave offer to Blood Redd since I want to make a heel group based on more or less scary looking guys (think Ministry of Darkness) and I believe that Blood Redd could be a fine leader for that group. Both guys were willing to listen my offers so I send both of them two years offers. I also send offer to SKREEM just because he´s my favorite guy in the database alongside GLEE and he´s unemployed so I want to give him a job. He has ring rust and likely won´t be that great in-ring but I´m going to give him a shot. If Blood Redd signs then SKREEM will be his second in command, otherwise SKREEM will likely take the leadership on that group unless I can think of some better option. SKREEM was willing to sign with just 460$ per show (Redd and Espíritu demanded over 1000$ per show) so I gave him a three years offer as I believe the asked payment is below marked prize for a guy who has E- overness around USA. </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

I decided to advance on next day after this one (I want to see if Blood Redd accepts the offer or not before I go any further and also I just remembered that I haven´t got any owner goals yet.) Sure enough one of the owner goals denied me from signing anyone over 42 which eliminated Puppet Master, Big Ray Dubya and Hugh Jass from my possible signings list. Not a big deal as I wasn´t planning on signing them anyway. Other owner goals that affect hiring where that I cannot fall below 9th in company rankings (meaning that I have to hire enough solid guys to get good enough ratings to stay competitive) and that I cannot hire Psychopaths or MMA Crossover guys.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

Everyone who I had send contract offers accepted them so now it´s time to set up the rest of the roster. I usually divide my roster to three categories, main event guys, midcard guys and jobbers and here´s what I currently have:</p><p> </p><p>

Main event </p><p>

<span style="color:#0000FF;">El Espíritu II </span> </p><p>

<span style="color:#FF0000;">Blood Redd </span> </p><p>

<span style="color:#FF0000;">SKREEM </span> </p><p> </p><p>

Midcard </p><p>

<span style="color:#FF0000;">Leone Martin </span> </p><p>

<span style="color:#FF0000;">Deverel David </span> </p><p> </p><p>

jobbers </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

I basically want to have 16 guys, 8 faces and 8 heels on my starting roster plus 6 women. I would like to have 6 main event level guys and 4 to 6 jobbers with rest of the guys being midcard guys. First let´s fill the three main event spots that are left. The guys that compete for those spots are Big Brobatos, Douglas Bryson, GLEE, Nelson Maverick, Sean Maverick, Self, VooDude and Wrestle Man plus Flying Claw and Running Boot who I forgot from the earlier list. Of those guys I decided that I want Douglas Bryson to be another top heel while Wrestle Man would take the second top face spot. Between those two, El Espíritu II and Blood Redd I should have strong top 4 to help me gain the ratings that I need. I then added VooDude on the mix as my number three face. Bryson and VooDude got two year deals while Wrestle Man got three because he was willing to for little less than 1000$ per show and I thought it was a bargain for a guy who has been ranked top 16 in power 500 in last three years. So that settles the top guys, next I decided to look for two guys who I know would be able to gain good ratings and who would thus be my next superstars (hopefully). I learned heavily in my GCW days for that as I chose Leo Orton and Karl Cooper on those roles. Leo Orton will be teamed up with Wrestle Man as pair of superheroes while Cooper will join Blood Redd and SKREEM in my heel table and will team up with SKREEM. Hopefully being with my top guys would be enough to see their overness rise quickly in order to give me a little bit insurance in case of war or scheduling clash. Both guys get three year contracts since I plan to invest them for long term. Next in the agenda is another midcard face tag team but unfortunately after checking trought active tag teams in American and Canadian companies, I didn´t find a good one so I have to build it from scratch. There´s not much limits on this one other than they should be decent enough for me to invest them as midcard guys and they can´t be bad backstage influence. I decided to limit my search to just Americans too mainly because we are American based company after all and I already have trio of Canadians plus SKREEM in my roster (and will have few more foreigners for my women division). At the end I decided to offer a year contracts to Bruce Cronin and Edwin Keith. Cronin is untested guy as he haven´t been in any companies so far but I really like his alt and he seems to have decent stats. Keith has been in few tours and has done well there so I figured he might be decent addition as well. I only gave them a year contracts as I´m not invested them just yet and want to have a way out in case they have bad tag chemistry or if they don´t produce. That leaves with just four spots left and those spots will go to jobbers, two faces and two heels. All of the jobber guys will get 1 year deals and some of them might well be replaced after the first year. My policy on picking jobbers is that he cannot be too talented (because then I would want to push them) but other than that I didn´t have much preference. Preferably they wouldn´t be bad backstage influence, though I don´t really mind it too much as if they cause troubles, it would just be easier for me to get rid of them (see Scott Swick in GWE or George Hudson in GCW). I decided to pick unemployed guys only, because… well I actually don´t really have much reasoning for that other than that I´m lazy and filtering by unemployment gave me less guys I had to get through with. Also it´s nice to give them some work and see if they can impress and take advantage on the opportunity (just like Pavlos Antzas did in GWE). My first pick was Jack Quarry, rookie who just debuted this month. His good backstage guy and average everywhere, which as you might know by now is my favorite type of jobber, he´s strong at playing face so he takes one of the face spots. My second choice was TPW reject (there´s plenty of those so not a big thing) Leonard Quarry who have been in TPW between December 1982 and April 1984. He´s average everywhere expect performance and heel skills which are strong so he will take a heel jobber spot (that strong performance might see him getting pushed if he performs well from the start though). Third choice is Ronald Butler, who has weak Physical skills but good entertainment skills. He´s strong as face and weak as heel so that settles his aligment. He´s egoistical and selfish too so basically he isn´t good for much but that´s why I signed him as I always like to have someone who I don´t mind jobbing to everyone. Look for Butler to lose every match he is in and he´s the most likely candidate to leave after the year. The last man is Bobby Lawler who is basically heel version of Ronald Butler in the way that he´s expected to lose a lot. He´s average everywhere and is egoistical and selfish so no push expected but he is a protégé of Douglas Bryson so that´s another positive backstage bonus for me. Lawler has been in one WotW tour but has been otherwise out of work during his three year career. So that leaves the final roster looking like this:</p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

Main Event </p><p>

<span style="color:#0000FF;">El Espíritu II </span> </p><p>

<span style="color:#0000FF;">Wrestle Man </span> </p><p>

<span style="color:#0000FF;">VooDude </span> </p><p>

<span style="color:#FF0000;">Blood Redd</span></p><p>

<span style="color:#FF0000;">Douglas Bryson </span></p><p>

<span style="color:#FF0000;">SKREEM</span></p><p> </p><p>

Midcard</p><p>

<span style="color:#0000FF;">Leo Orton</span> </p><p>

<span style="color:#0000FF;">Edwin Keith </span> </p><p>

<span style="color:#0000FF;">Bruce Cronin</span> </p><p>

<span style="color:#FF0000;">Karl Cooper </span></p><p>

<span style="color:#FF0000;">Leone Martin</span></p><p>

<span style="color:#FF0000;">Deverel David</span></p><p> </p><p>

jobbers</p><p>

<span style="color:#0000FF;">Jack Quarry </span> </p><p>

<span style="color:#0000FF;">Ronald Butler</span> </p><p>

<span style="color:#FF0000;">Leonard Quarry</span></p><p>

<span style="color:#FF0000;">Bobby Lawler</span></p><p> </p><p>

I´m pretty happy about how that turned out so far but we will see if things go as well as I hope. I will be adding more guys bit later but I like to start with smaller roster as it gives me time to establish top guys properly and also lets me see better, where I might need help. Oh, but there is still women division to take care of before this is over. There is 21 choices for 6 open spots so for the first time, I actually have some choices to make. I decided to only take two from the original database girls to give others change to shine as well. My first pick is Orchid for two reasons. A) she´s my favorite girl in the original database and B) She´s currently dating Blood Redd which nullifies Orchid´s bad backstage presence and adds another member for Blood´s stable (not to mention it made Blood happy). Sara Tonen is the other girl I decided to hire, she will be the top babyface to go against Orchid. Both girls got two year contracts. Then, just like with guys I wanted to hire pair of girls who currently have no overness in Puerto Rico but who I know can product good ratings. Just like with Orton and Cooper, I did go with two girls who have proven themselves under my booking before, namely Alicia Moreno and Madalene Demers. Admittedly, Demers is a bid of a risk since she´s owner of CSW but she´s talented and I need that talent. Since Demers has weak face skills Moreno will be the face while Demers will be the heel. I also plan to add Moreno to the superhero group of Orton and Wrestle Man to further help both her and Orton. Both these girls got three years contracts since I´m banking on them being at top of my women division once they gain bid of overness. Now all that is left is to choose the two lucky jobbers for women division and they are Lupe Vasquez and another familiar face, Gloria Gutierrez. My main reasoning for picking them is that they are 2 of the 3 girls that are currently unemployed and since the third one had strong in-ring & physical skill I decided to save her for possibly later use. Also, I know from my GWE experience that Gutierrez and Moreno are able to get decent ratings together even with their bad chemistry (they had E+ match average rating there in 12 matches, though that also counts matches with more than two girls). Just like with men´s division, I likely add at least two more girls once I get things running but this do for now. So that was it, bit of a long post but hopefully it proved interesting to read. I did go pretty heavily on established talent that I knew would perform well (ok so in other mods they would be rookies but here they are about as established as you can get) in this one but I wanted to have good starting roster and I believe that I got one. If things go well I can always add few projects later on. </p></div><p></p><p></p>

Port City Wrestling Federetion

Owner: Leone Martin

Size: Small

ranking: 9th

Location: Puerto Rico

Owner Goals:

1. PCWF must not fall below small size. Importance Critical, Expires: 1 year, 11 months, 3 weeks.

Should be an easy goal with the roster I have assembled.

2. PCWF must not fall below 9th in company ranking, Importance Critical, Expires: 1 year, 11 months, 3 weeks.

Sigh, I just hate this goal. Oh well, at least I have better shot at this than with GWE but this will likely be another failed goal because there are lots of new promotions coming in next two years.

3. Can´t Hire any wrestlers classified as MMA Crossovers, Importance: Average, Expires: 1 year, 11 month, 3 weeks.

There´s still zero MMA Crossover guys so couldn´t fail this one even if I would try.

4. You can´t hire any wrestlers over the age of 42. Importance: Average, Expires: 2 year, 7 month, 3 weeks.

Bit annoying since it stops me hiring some of the guys from original database (currently only Puppet Master, Hugh Jass and Reto Anderhub) and there are some others who will soon join them as AJ Allstot, Battle Axe, Big Ray Dubya, Mauler McGregor and Sean Maverick area all between 41 and 42 years old. Luckily most of my favorites are younger guys so not that big deal, Puppet Master, or Battle Axe might have been good signing and Allstot and McGregor would have been useful to have once I grown to Regional but I should still do well without any of these guys.

5. Can´t Hire any wrestlers classified as Psychopaths, Importance: Average, Expires: 1 year, 1 month, 3 weeks.

Not a big deal either, there are nine wrestlers in the world that fit under here and five of them I could sign (including one familiar face in Constanza Carrasco) but really, I won´t miss anyone from those five.

So again, not really that bad goals excluding that second one, the no-one over 42 limits my options a bit but I have always liked to work with limited options anyway.

Roster:

NOTE: the pushes showed here are the ones game currently assigns for them, not the ones I plan them to have.

Main event:

http://img198.imageshack.us/img198/9331/xvf5.jpg

Blood Redd

Age: 29

Style: Regular Wrestler

Size: Lightweight

Heel, Vampiric

Blood Redd might not be that great guy stat wise, at least not when you compare him in CornellVerse guys but in this verse, I strongly believe that he´s one of the better guys despite having mostly D´s and few C´s on skill ratings. Realistically, I think I can´t expect better than D- ratings from him unless he has good opponent but that´s still decent enough and I´m happy as hiving Redd as one of my main guys. I would have wanted to give him slightly different gimmick (cult leader or something similar) but he either couldn´t play those or they had too high subtlety, risk or difficulty. Anyway, Redd will basically lead my heel stable consisting on him, SKREEM, Orchid and Karl Cooper.

http://img843.imageshack.us/img843/8290/2691.jpg

Douglas Bryson

Age: 29

Style: Technician

Size: Middleweight

Heel, Dual-Sport superstar

Bryson is guy who has great technical abilities and is average in most other categories and in EffVerse that makes him a top guy at least until the computer generated guys had got some seasoning. I´m hoping that Bryson and Redd could carry the things on the heel side until I get some overness to computer generated guys.

http://img823.imageshack.us/img823/7880/rsm6.jpg

Nova (El Espíritu II)

Age: 33

Style: Luchador

Size: Small

Face, Fan Favorite

I decided to use Nova alter ego on El Espíritu, mainly because it´s easier to write but also because I feel it fits better on American market. I´m hoping Nova to be another top guy for me and hopefully I can get decent ratings from him during early years.

Upper Midcard:

http://img690.imageshack.us/img690/6865/3mjx.jpg

Nightmare (SKREEM)

Age: 28

Style: Brawler

Size: Middleweight

Heel, Acolyte

You would think SKREEM has enough alter egos already but I really liked that black mask and felt that the name El Espiritu Negro was better fit in Mexico than in USA (just like El Espíritu II/Nova) and thus decided to rename him. Nightmare will basically play the role of number two guy in Blood Redd´s stable and is overall, my number three heel. Nightmare is sure to have some ring rust since he´s last match is from January 1982 and I generally won´t expect much from him rating wise but I hope he makes decent main event gatekeeper since that´s basically the spot I plan him to have.

http://img801.imageshack.us/img801/5351/z8hy.jpg

VooDude

Age: 36

Style: Entertainer

Size: Middleweight

Face, Cartoon Joker

VooDude will play the number three face spot on my roster which basically makes him as fringe main event guy. He seems to be decent as far as in-ring skills go so I expect him to put up good ratings at least with my main event guys and hopefully also with the more talented undercard guys.

http://img854.imageshack.us/img854/2595/d0fl.jpg

Johnny Justice (Wrestle Man)

Age: 29

Style: Regular Wrestler

Size: Lightweight

Face, Comic Book Hero

I will use the Johnny Justice alter ego for Wrestle Man and he will be the leader of my superhero stable (including him, Leo Orton and Alicia Moreno) who will oppose Redd´s stable. Johnny has been in two match of the year matches during his career but I obviously can´t expect that kind of results here. However, I expect solid performance from him as well as my other three main guys (Bruson, Redd and Nova).

Midcard:

http://img32.imageshack.us/img32/857/8i0e.jpg

Bobby Lawler

Age: 22

Style: Regular Wrestler

Size: Light Heavyweight

Face, Adventurer

Lawler is another guy with ring rust on him as he´s only work in his three year career so far has come with WotW tour between February and May 1982. To be honest, I don´t really expect anything from him, he´s going to be a jobber and is unlikely to get any better position from the roster despite being Bryson´s protege.

http://img221.imageshack.us/img221/3972/cvmjfpmaskedm029.jpg

Edwin Keith

Age: 22

Style: Regular Wrestler

Size: Heavyweight

Face, Armed Forces

Keith has shown some promise in WotW and UBBP tours before this and actually has E overness in Shikoku (WotW home area) while his average match rating has been D- so far in his career (28 matches, all in Japan). I don´t expect him to get that kind of results here but I hope he´s manages to get ratings between E- to E+ (any more would be expecting too much) consistently and thus be a solid midcard presence and hopefully one of the backbones of my tag division.

http://img10.imageshack.us/img10/9320/t0f4.jpg

Leonard Quarry

Age: 22

Style: Regular Wrestler

Size: Heavyweight

Heel, Biker

Quarry is penciled as a jobber but he´s the one who I could see being higher on the card (mainly because he has strong performance skills with everything else being average) so I keep a close eye on him early on. Quarry might have bit of ring rust too as he was let go by TPW back in April 1984 after working there little over a year.

http://img30.imageshack.us/img30/831/dg5c.jpg

Leone Martin

Age: 22

Style: Regular Wrestler

Size: Lightweight

Heel, Underworld

The boss man himself, and a guy who should become one of the backbones in my tag division. He has strong on both in-ring and performance as well as physical ratings so he looks promising and he has had a bit of success in TPro anad is their current tag champ as well. Overall, as far as boss goes, I´m pretty happy that he´s my boss as he´s not only solid in the ring but is a good backstage presence as well.

http://img716.imageshack.us/img716/6505/6jjb.jpg

Ronald Butler

Age: 20

Style: Technician

Size: Lightweight

Heel, Fan´s Own

Butler wins the award of most likely guy to be cut from the roster as he has very little going on mainly thanks to weak Physical abilities and weak heel skills. Still, I need few guys like him on my roster to do the jobs and that´s what Butler has signed to do. Only time will tell if he one day manages to show me that I´m wrong about him (much like Quint Bertrand has done) but I really don´t see him doing well. As an interesting fact, Butler is one of the just four active wrestlers in my roster who haven´t worked anywhere before. The other three are Bruce Cronin, Jack Quarry and Lupe Vasquez.

Lower Midcard:

http://img407.imageshack.us/img407/8968/rofu.jpg

Bruce Cronin

Age: 21

Style: Entertainer

Size: Heavyweight

Face, Armed Forces

Cronin is still untested rookie but I hope he will be good enough to hold a midcard tag spot with Edwin Keith as I plan them to be one of the backbones of the tag division.

http://img694.imageshack.us/img694/1740/0qkd.jpg

Jack Barrett (Jack Quarry)

Age: 20

Style: Regular Wrestler

Size: Lightweight

Face, Man On A Mission

I´m usually not one to change people’s names but I did change Jack´s last name to avoid having two Quarry´s in the roster. Barrett is a rookie who just debuted this month so I´m not expecting much from him but frankly, he´s only here to put others over anyway so it´s not like he will get much change to show his skills either.

http://img855.imageshack.us/img855/4212/cvmjfpmaskedm004.jpg

Ifrit (Karl Cooper)

Age: 25

Style: Entertainer

Size: Middleweight

Heel, Acolyte

First of the five persons who are familiar from my earlier runs with GCW/GWE and another guy who had his name changed to fit him better into the group he will be put. Ifrit will be the low man of Blood´s stable for now but I still plan to keep him fairly strong as he´s going to be one of the two guys who I hope to push into main event scene (or at least close to it) during my run here. One thing I noted about Cooper is that he´s now egoistical and antisocial. Not sure if he´s always had been or if it´s product of the fact that he´s main event guy in both GCW and CFW and probably the second best/most over Canadian worker after Bishop Black. Either way, it pays to pay attention on whatever he becomes bad backstage influence in the future (he isn´t currently).

Openers:

http://img96.imageshack.us/img96/9149/xfyx.jpg

Deverel David

Age: 23

Style: Brawler

Size: Middleweight

Heel, Thief

David is another half of the tag team with owner Leone Martin and also he´s good friend so he should have pretty secured job at least as long as I´m in charge. Hopefully David manages to fill his spot as midcard tag specialist, but at least his work in TPro has shown some promise as does his personality and stats.

http://img199.imageshack.us/img199/1618/cvmjfpmaskedm015.jpg

Blue Avenger (Leo Orton)

Age: 22

Style: Brawler

Size: Lightweight

Face, Sidekick

Yet another name change as Orton will be part of the hero squad let by Johnny Justice. Avenger is the second guy who I plan to push close to main event scene alongside Ifrit. Those two has worked well in GCW and I see no reason why they wouldn´t work well here too.

Women Division:

http://img40.imageshack.us/img40/5694/vo8d.jpg

Gloria Gutierrez

Age: 25

Style: Luchador

Size: Small

Heel, Thief

One of the three familiar faces in my women division, Gutierrez showed decent enough skill back in GWE that I wanted to bring her here too despite the fact that she cannot play face and has bad chemistry with Moreno (they still had good matches together, which actually is one of the main reasons why I signed her). Don´t pay much attention to her gimmick, there simply wasn´t much to choose from (pretty common problem with some of the computer generated guys/girls) and thief was one of the less ridiculous ones that was left. Gutierrez will basically have the jobber heel role in my six women division so she´s a bit unlikely to become a big star in here but you never know, she might surprise me and I do plan to bring at least two additional women pretty soon and that might rise Gutierrez´s stock since she has already proven to me that she is decent worker.

http://img209.imageshack.us/img209/9650/cvfpwhitefemale015.jpg

Lupe Vazquez

Age: 19

Style: Luchador

Size: Small

Face, Blue Collar

Vazquez is yet another Mexican female who is now working everywhere in the world because there are no job opportunities in Mexico. She would actually be better heel than a face but I needed another face so Vazquez got that spot instead. She´s basically the face jobber so don´t expect her to gain many wins during her stay.

http://img42.imageshack.us/img42/3158/cvmjfpblackfemale002.jpg

Madalene Demers

Age: 23

Style: Technician

Size: Small

Heel, Big League Star

Demers is another familiar face who has proven herself earlier, this time from my GCW run and I expect her to be one of my leading girls alongside Moreno, Tonen and Orchid. She is owner of CSW and that might cause some problems if relations becomes hostile between the two companies but other than that, I don´t see why she wouldn´t do well in here since she has already had some success in both CSW and GCW.

http://img266.imageshack.us/img266/3885/tk4f.jpg

Orchid

Age: 24

Style: Regular Wrestler

Size: Small

Heel, Acolyte

Orchid is my favorite girl from the five that are in the database when the game starts and frankly that´s the main reason why she is here (alongside the fact that she´s dating Blood Redd). Despite her starting overness, I don´t expect Orchid to be much good in-ring simply because her stats are pretty bad (the fact that Moreno and Gutierrez were ahead of her in power 500 last year is another example of why I don´t have much faith on her) but I hope that her good entertainment skills and starting overness still help other women to gain bit overness at the start. Also, I hope that including Orchid on the group Blood Redd runs would help her stay relevant and hopefully build her overness too since from my top four girls, I believe she´s the one that needs the overness most.

http://img534.imageshack.us/img534/8816/t298.jpg

Sara Tonen

Age: 24

Style: Regular Wrestler

Size: Very Small

Face, Fan Favorite

If Orchid is my favorite girl from original database, Tonen is the one who I believe is the best overall so it´s no surprise I chose her as one of the leading girls on my division. Her overness combined with her in-ring skills pretty much makes her the main star of the division at least on the early going.

http://img844.imageshack.us/img844/9395/g0x6.jpg

Silver Star (Alicia Moreno)

Age: 22

Style: Technician

Size: Small

Face, Comic Book Hero

Last of the wrestlers who got a name change in PCWF, Silver Star is obviously familiar to everyone who followed my run in GWE were she was my best women division member. With Demers and Tonen in the roster, Silver Star don´t have to carry the whole roster this time around and I expect good things on my women division mostly because of those three.

Non-wrestlers:

http://img96.imageshack.us/img96/3430/26id.jpg

Arnold Hernandez

Age: 21

Colour Commentator

Not much to say about him (or any other non-wrestler that I signed) so I just say that he´s expected to be the colour commentator and unless I got notes saying that he isn´t good enough, you can expect him to stay in PCWF as long as I stay in the company.

http://img853.imageshack.us/img853/6671/bguy.jpg

Big Rig

Age: 56

Road Agent

Rig already works in OPW and SW and that causes bit of a problem but there isn´t much road agents available to me so until someone decides to retire from active competition, he´s pretty much the default choice for PCWF.

http://img690.imageshack.us/img690/6161/3bgq.jpg

Joe Erikson

Age: 23

Announcer

Much of the same that I said about Hernandez fits here too so barring some kind of negative note, Erikson is going to be the main announcer for a long time.

http://img266.imageshack.us/img266/637/ws5f.jpg

Roy Barnes

Age: 21

Referee

Same goes for Barnes that goes my announcing pair, if he does he´s job well I have no reason to look for a replacement.

Tag Teams:

Dangerous By Design (Nightmare & Ifrit)

Hero Squad (Johnny Justice & Blue Avenger)

Team Explosion (Bruce Cronin & Edwin Keith)

The Enemy State (Deverel David & Leone Martin)

Stables:

Cult of Blood (Blood Redd, Orchid, Nightmare & Ifrit)

Hero Squad (Johnny Justice, Blue Avenger & Silver Star)

NOTE: Some of you might had noticed this already but I actually messed up setting my roster (nothing new there, maybe one day I actually get things right for once) as I made Lawler as a face and Butler as a heel (with Fan´s Own gimmick, too, what on earth was I thinking there?????? The guy has weak heel skills too so that was a totally idiotic move on my part) despite putting them the other way in my original roster breakdown. Oh well, they were unimportant jobbers anyway but still kind of embarrassing writing a long post about how I build my roster and then failing to follow it… :o Yep, guess we all know by now why I suck so much in this game. :p

Show Rating: D</p><p> </p><p>

Comments: Pretty happy with the first show overall. Main event delivered just as I expected and the women showed that once again I can trust them to give me good ratings. Only slight disappointment was VooDude vs. Leone Martin, but perhaps I was expecting bit too much from them considering that Martin has zero overness in this area. The main goal here was to give as many guys as possible a decent momentum and that worked well with only three persons having less than D- momentum. Orchid decided to make a good first impression by starting a fight with Demers on the very first show. I gave her a stern warning and she said she understood. I sure hope so since I just gave the title to her and I don´t want to piss Redd of by firing his girlfriend. Deverel David was working with injury so I decided to play safe and leave him out, I also decided to leave some of the lesser talents of the card as I felt that putting them against each other´s would just give them bad momentum (as happened with Barrett and Quarry) and hoped that I put them against more talented guys on next card they would get better momentum, which in turn should help them a bit in the future.</p><p>

Comments: Not nearly as great show as the first one and this rating actually wasn´t even enough to rise our popularity. That said, I didn´t really expect this to do that well as the top guys where mostly facing lesser talents and I knew Nightmare still had ring rust so putting him in the main event was a risk in the first place. On backstage news, Blood Redd got into fight with Bobby Lawler, I gave him fatherly approach and he seemed to get a message but it´s still pretty annoying to have to deal with negative backstage insistent in first two shows especially since Orchid is the only negative influence and the rating is actually pretty high (67%). Also, Edwin Keith was working elsewhere tonight so he was unavailable while Deverel David is still injured so I decided to not to use him once again. </p><p>

<p>September 1984</p><p> </p><p>

- WotW suffers a big blow as Yoshi MG storms out from their show after getting into argument with owner/head booker Tom Esch. Yoshi MG was 13th in last power 500 with two WotW Heavyweight title runs under his belt and he was second high profile loss for WotW during a short time since Kosaku Shiga had to quit his active career just few months earlier. For some other company losses of two such a high profile guys would be devastating but WotW is one of those companies who actually can build stars so I doubt it affects them much in the long run. Yoshi MG is unemployed at the moment and it will be interesting to see which promotion decides to take advantage now that he´s runs in FFA and WotW have ended. Perhaps which ever company opens next in Japan gets a top star on him?</p><p> </p><p>

- Shigemori Shibaguchi ends Hiroji Irie´s WotW heavyweight title run after 14 defenses.</p><p> </p><p>

- Blood Redd wins TPW United States title for a second time. Former champion El Espíritu II managed to have 11 successful defenses before dropping the belt. As a side note, TPW seems to be somewhat high on Redd as he´s also their tag champ with Douglas Bryson as Team Thunder. Nice to know that my top guys are doing well in TPW too even if they aren´t main event level guys.</p><p> </p><p>

- Johnny Hill walks away from ECW after getting into argument with Battle Axe. As much as I liked Hill on my GWE run (and he´s doing well there too being main event guy currently) I must admit that for ECW he was hardly a big loss as he´s record of 7 wins and 28 losses would tell.</p><p> </p><p>

- GLLM signs Gregorio Carrasco in order to fill a hole on their roster caused when Marcos Reyes and Diego Herrera were let go. Age: 21, Style: Luchador, Size: Lightweight. Carrasco debuted in August 1982 but haven´t found much work outside of one touring experience in WotW back in 1983.</p><p> </p><p>

- GLLM also signs another new name on Guillermo Capallero, Age: 20, Style: Luchador, Size: Lightweight. Caballero has also been in one WotW tour prior his current job and he made quite a good impression in that tour having average match rating of D- and getting quite over (E+) in Shikoku area in just two months despite having a record of 2 wins 1 draw and 14 losses.</p><p> </p><p>

- Yet another new name signed by GLLM is Martin Cortes, Age: 21, Style: Luchador, Size: Lightweight. This is Corteses first opportunity to show his skills. </p><p> </p><p>

- Loyal Caron becomes new CFW Top Contender champion when he defeated Garlan Roberts for the title. Roberts had 13 successful defenses before dropping the belt.</p><p> </p><p>

- And GLLM continues to hire new faces as rookie Salvador Crespo joins the roster. Age: 20, Style: Luchador, Size: Lightweight. </p><p> </p><p>

- Samuel Gibson becomes the new SW International champion after he defeated Flying Claw. Flying Claw had just 4 successful defenses before dropping the belt.</p><p> </p><p>

- Blood Redd and GLEE are on bad terms now, making it unlikely for me to sign GLEE despite him being one of my favorite guys in the database alongside his usual tag partner SKREEM (Nightmare). Oh well, I was unlikely to bring him in anyway as he already had bad blood with VooDude and I already have put Nightmare in a tag team with Ifrit (Karl Cooper) but it´s still a shame.</p>

Comments: Mediocre show and unfortunately one that didn´t raise our overness. It seems like I really need to hit the jackpot to get any more overness that we already have but the good news are that I´m not losing any either and once some of those computer generated guys manage to get some popularity I hopefully have larger cast to choose for the main event. Blood Redd provoked Nova for the argument and I gave him slap on the wrist as a result. This is second time on a row that Redd gets into trouble so guess he´s a bit of a hothead. Hopefully he learned his lesson but frankly I´m doubting it. Edwin Keith was again working elsewhere while David was still working with injury but I decided to debut him anyway since he had worked with TPro in this month too.

Roster Moves:

I decided to expand my roster a little bit by adding another face and heel jobber to form a tag teams with Leonard Quarry and Jack Barrett (since those two are the two jobbers who I currently expect to keep after this year). I also decided to expand my women division with another two names (mainly planning to use the new faces as jobbers) as with just six girls, I book all the possible match combinations way too quickly.

http://img11.imageshack.us/img11/307/m5o3.jpg

Lise Dubé

Age: 20

Style: Regular Wrestler

Size: Small

Face, Old School Face

I rather quickly decided that Dubé should be one of the two girls that I hire mainly because she´s one that I haven´t worked with before. Dubé is newcomer to the industry as she debuted in August 1984 and though she was signed by GCW in same month, she haven´t yet had a single match during her career. Dubé has strong Physical, face and heel skills and is average at In-ring & Performance as well as on microphone.

http://img18.imageshack.us/img18/6864/28ij.jpg

Adalicia Garner

Age: 22

Style: Regular Wrestler

Size: Small

Heel, Bitch

I quickly narrowed the second girl I wanted to sign to four possible options which all are familiar for me from either GCW or GWE. Adalicia Garner, Alma Fullington, Clara Iglesias and Linette Bruce where the four candidates. As you can see I did go with Garner at the end mainly because I was looking for a jobber and thus only expect to keep her for a year and since she is bad backstage presence she is least likely to get a push under me at any circumstances and thus is more expendable than the rest of the girls who I might need later on to bring depth in the division. Garner actually have had the best match so far from these four girls as her best match is D+ rated (everyone else had D- as their best match rating) with Yumako Ekiguchi who was also available for me but who I cut based on the fact that she was already working with both GCW and FFA and because she´s one of the most likely girls I would hire when I want to bring new talent at the top of the division.

http://img21.imageshack.us/img21/560/8xul.jpg

Aaron Burkman

Age: 23

Style: Cruiserweight

Size: Lightweight

Face, Blue Collar

For guys, I decided to just go with unemployed ones (mainly because I had to check less people that way but also to give them job opportunities and change to develop). As I said, I looked guys who I could see forming tag teams with Quarry and Barrett and with Barrett, I decided to go with the easy way and choose another black guy as he´s partner. That guy proved to be Aaron Burkman who hasn´t found any jobs so far after he debuted back in June 1982. To be honest, I´m not terribly surprised at that since he is just average everywhere and has weak heel skills too so he´s nothing special but I´m mainly looking for warm body who could do jobs and he fits that role well enough.

http://img22.imageshack.us/img22/4374/dkr8.jpg

Kevin Valentine

Age: 22

Style: Regular Wrestler

Size: Middleweight

Heel, Thief

It took me sometime to figure who the other new signing will be but eventually I narrowed it down to 7 options and quick check on their personalities told me that five of them where extremely egoistic, which instantly cut them from my list. Valentine was the man who won the spot from the last two simply because he´s style was better fit with Quarry than the other candidate´s (who was Cruiserweight) so Valentine got the job. He´s average everywhere (and I really mean everywhere) and haven´t worked anywhere since debuting back in August 1982 so my expectations aren´t high but he will do for now.

October 1984

- Derek Martinez walks out from VPW after being there just 9 months. He had a record of 3 wins, 1 draw and 5 losses during his stay.

- Roberto Gurgel (22 years old wrestler) opens Level 10 Wrestling (Size: Small, Key features: Comedy and Lucha Libre, Heavy Feature: Mainstream) in New Zealand. So guess it´s pretty much this mods version of ZEN then, sadly there will be lot less masked men this time.

- Yasuko Fujimaki and Yumako Ekiguchi continue to trade the FFA Womens title as Fujimaki wins the title back from two times champion Ekiguchi and starts her own second reign. No-one else haven´t held the belt yet. Ekiguchi had 8 successful defenses before dropping the belt.

- Takauji Handa won the UBBP Television title from Akinori Chikamatsu who had 14 successful defenses before dropping the belt.

- VPN signs Kyle Paris to contract. Age: 19, Style: Spot Monkey, Size: Lightweight. This is first job opportunity for Paris.

- Octave Roy becomes new TPro Heavyweight champion when he defeated Chauncey Tremblay for the title. Tremblay had 4 successful defenses before dropping the belt.

- WotW had punch of contract negations going and let few guys go too. Tamotsu Akatsuka and Nobuyoshi Okano are the guys who won´t get new contract offers at the time being. Akatsuka is midcarder while Okano is upper midcard guy. Akatsuka had 112 wins, 6 draws and 100 losses during his stay while Okano´s win/loss record stands at 121 wins, 6 draws and 86 losses. Both guys have D- overness in WotW´s home area (almost any other promotion would kill to get guys that over) and neither guy don´t work anywhere else at the moment. Okano also has a bad blood with owner/head booker Tom Esch which explains why he was cut. Okano is former WotW Tag Team champion as he held the belt between October 1982 and July 1983 alongside Kosaku Shiga, Akatsuka on the other hand never had any titles during his four year stay.

- GLLM will cut Eduardo Medina from their roster. Medina worked with them since December 1980 but he failed to rise from the opener spot and had a record of 5 wins, 1 draw and 43 losses during his four years stint. He did hold GLLM Wrestling Spirit title between December 1981 and June 1982 defending it successfully twice during that time.

- GCW cut Harvey Burkman from their roster. Burkman had been with them since January 1981 and had a record of 13 wins and 20 losses. Burkman´s only title run with the company dates back in 1981 as he won the GCW Maple Leaf title in the very first GCW show (back when I was booking them). He held the Maple Leaf title for a whole year but lost it in January 1982 to Austin Murdock. After I left GCW at February 1982 he quickly fall from the favor (in reality he would probably had done so even if I would have stayed as booker since he was bad backstage presence guy and didn´t do as well as I first hoped he would) and never got past the midcard in AI´s control.

- L10W hold their first show getting E rating which isn´t bad for new company especially one that doesn´t have much established talent even in Australia´s low standards.

- Kyle Paris becomes the first L10W Badda Bing King (their main belt).

- Ralph Cummo is first L10W Super Cool (midcard belt) champion.

- GCW makes second cut on their roster this month as Rainger Desjardins is set to leave the company after this month. Desjardins had a record of 6 wins and 15 losses during his GCW career that started in December 1981.

- Jackie Flash becomes two times TPW Women´s champion when she defeated Minnie Savage for the title. Savage had 10 successful defenses before dropping the belt.

- Here is L10W´s starting roster:

- Alan Nevada, Age: 23, Style: Regular Wrestler, Size: Middleweight. Nevada is one of the few guys in L10W´s roster that has been in name company before as he has been touring in both WotW and UBBP.

- Allen Race, Age: 18, Style: Cruiserweight, Size: Lightweight. In case he´s age didn´t give it away already, Race is a rookie who haven´t worked anywhere so far.

- Andre Nielson, Age: 21, Style: Regular Wrestler, Size: Lightweight. You might remember him as jobber in GWE and that´s the only promotion he have worked before this.

- Andrew Steward, Age: 23, Style: Entertainer, Size: Light Heavyweight. Has been in one UBBP tour before this but otherwise has been unemployed.

- Bradley Grunge, Age: 23, Style: Regular Wrestler, Size: Lightweight.

Hasn´t worked anywhere expect Australian independence scene so far.

- Brian Cook, Age: 22, Style: Entertainer, Size: Lightweight. This is first job opportunity for Cook outside of independence scene.

- Clyde Regal, Age: 20, Style: Psychopath, Size: Middleweight. Another first time outside of independence scene.

- Derek Martinez, Age: 21, Style: Brawler, Size: Light Heavyweight. Had brief stint in VPW that ended when he walked out. Still, even that brief stint makes him one of the more experienced guys in the roster (at least if independence scene isn´t counted and I usually don´t).

- Earl Cox, Age: 23, Style: Regular Wrestler, Size: Lightweight. Another guy with just independent experience under his belt.

- Harry King, Age: 21, Style: Regular Wrestler, Size: Lightweight. Yet another guy who gets his first shot in “name” promotion.

- Jared Waterman, Age: 21, Style: Cruiserweight, Size: Lightweight. Rookie, which obviously means that he haven´t been working anywhere else.

- Kyle Paris, Age: 19, Style: Spot Monkey, Size: Lightweight. Paris works also in VPW who signed him just day before L10W did.

- Ralph Cummo, Age: 22, Style: Regular Wrestler, Size: Middleweight. Yet another first timer.

- Roberto Gurgel, Age: 22, Style: Regular Wrestler, Size: Heavyweight. Has been in wrestling world since December 1980 but haven´t attracted any attention before this. Owner.

- Roland Dahl, Age: 20, Style: Spot Monkey, Size: Lightweight, Haven´t worked anywhere but independence scene before.

- Tony Texas, Age: 21, Style: Spot Monkey, Size: Middleweight. Rookie, so another haven´t worked anywhere else guy.

- Wayne Hart, Age: 21, Style: Spot Moneky, Size: Lightweight. First job opportunity for him.

- William Windham, Age: 23, Style: Regular Wrestler, Size: Lightweight. Haven´t worked anywhere else (expect the usual independence scene, of course) before this.

Women Division

- Angela Turner, Age: 20, Style: Regular Wrestler, Size: Small

- Joy Smith, Age: 20, Style: Cruiserweight, Size: Small

- Michele Scott, Age: 18, Style: Cruiserweight, Size: Small. This is first job opportunity for all three girls.

Non Wrestlers:

- Travis Kerr, Age: 21, referee

Few notes from the roster. First of all, none of the guys who work in VPW didn´t make it on the roster with the exception of Kyle Paris and he was signed by VPW just day before so L10W must have gave him a contract offer when he was still unsigned. That isn´t just coincident so for whatever reason they didn´t want/couldn´t sign anyone who worked with VPW (they didn´t sign Alma Fullington either so maybe they just looking unemployed guys?) which else explains the lack of non-wrestlers since Kerr is the only non-wrestler in Australia who doesn’t work with VPW already. Also, how bad Harold Batch is when he didn´t get signed yet again? There was only three guys who weren´t signed by either VPW or L10W and Batch is one of them so AI must really hate him. :p

In a bout that had a good crowd and some decent in-ring action, Blood Redd defeated Douglas Bryson and Johnny Justice in 11:56 when Blood Redd defeated Johnny Justice by pinfall following interference from Nightmare. Show Rating: D-</p><p> </p><p>

Comments: Another D- show yet this time it increased our popularity (last show didn´t)? Also I found out that fans where turned off by interference finish… Yeah, good to know and all since I been doing lots of interferences in my matches so far. Guess I have to tune it down a bit then. Orchid was slightly unhappy because I didn´t let her work without a script, but I really didn´t want to tank those two segments just to make her happy.</p><p>

<p>November 1984</p><p> </p><p>

- WotW ends its current tour and Jose Slater, Federico Morales, Ron Davis and Clinton Horn left the company.</p><p> </p><p>

- Roy Beaulieu leaves CFW after payment dispute. He didn´t work with CFW for long as he just debuted there in April 1984 and his record with the company where 1 win, 1 draw and 4 losses.</p><p> </p><p>

- WotW starts gearing up for next tour, here are the guys they signed this time around:</p><p> </p><p>

</p><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">o Arnold Frazer, Age: 23, Style: Regular Wrestler, Size: Middleweight. Fraser has found a steady work (at least for now) in SW where he´s currently a midcard guy. He has also worked in WotW (twice), UBBP and TPW before so he has plenty of experience for someone who has been in the industry for only 3 years.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

o Blais Savard, Age: 21, Style: Regular Wrestler, Size: Lightweight. Savard works in TPro currently and has also been in two UBBP tours before.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

o Santiago Flores, Age: 22, Style: Regular Wrestler, Size: Lightweight. Flores debuted in February 1983 and this is the first time he founds job in name promotion with his only matches so far being 8 matches in Mexican independence scene.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

o Jesse Batch, Age: 25, Style: Regular Wrestler, Size: Middleweight. Despite being only 25, Batch could well be described as veteran (after all, the bar isn´t particularly high on that with mostly computer generated guys around) thanks to his work in GWE, VPN and WotW. This is 4th tour he has with WotW so he´s pretty much their go to guy, whenever they need to sign some decent talent for their tours. </div><p></p><p> </p><p>

- WotW also signed Yahei? Kawano to p.p.a deal. Age: 22, Style: Cruiserweight, Size: Middleweight. Kawano also works in UBBP where he´s an opener.</p><p> </p><p>

- WotW also signs Toshio Yosanu on p.p.a deal to further bolster their roster. Age: 21, Style: Japanese Junior Size: Lightweight. This is the first job opportunity for Yosanu.</p><p> </p><p>

- Mauler McGregor become the fifth man who won TPW World Heavyweight title. Former champion Terry Titan had 13 successful defenses before dropping the belt.</p><p> </p><p>

- WotW suffers another loss as ShinriKiyaru Yanagita walks out from the promotion. Yanagita had the record of 22 wins, 1 draw and 35 losses during his stay that started a year ago. He had D- overness on WotW home area at the time he left, a testament of how good they are on building overness for their guys.</p><p> </p><p>

- OPW makes a bit of cleaning on their roster letting both Charlie Lane and Brad Youngblood go. Both worked for them since the company debut back in January 1981 but they never managed to move past opener status (no surprise with most guys there being the original database guys). Lane had a record of 6 wins, 1 draw and 30 losses during his OPW career while Youngblood did only slightly better with 9 wins and 31 losses. Youngblood was OPW Nationwide champion once but he´s reign lasted only a month and he lost the title on first defense. Lane never held any titles in OPW. One interesting note is that Youngblood is one of the only two graduates that came from Dog Pound dojo (other one is Philip Alessio who you might remember from my GCW days), guess that particular dojo doesn´t draw much students (or they all suck so badly that they don´t graduate <img alt=":p" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />) but at least they are doing better than Sarumara Dojo who doesn´t have single graduate so far. </p><p> </p><p>

- CFW signs Reinger Desjardins to fill the roster spot left by Roy Beaulieu. Desjardins himself have walked out from CFW once, as he´s last stay with them (back in 1982 - 1983) ended in bad terms. Age: 23, Style: Regular Wrestler, Size: Light Heavyweight.</p><p> </p><p>

- Andre Nielson and Wayne Hart won the L10W Bro Code (floating) titles.</p><p> </p><p>

- Angela Turner became the first L10W Sweet & Sour (floating, female title) champion.</p><p> </p><p>

- GCW will let Sauville Caron walk despite him being upper midcard guy with E- overness in their home area. Guess the main reason for that is the fact that he has bad blood with owner Rolando Landry. At any rate, Caron´s 4 year run in GCW netted him a result of 25 wins and 18 losses with average match rating being E. He had one title run during his stay and that was a long one as he was tag team champion between September 1982 and May 1983 alongside his partner Garlan Roberts. </p><p> </p><p>

- Another familiar name leaves GCW a day later when Darci Cloudier walks out after payment dispute. Cloudier was one of the three girls that formed the initial women division but despite this she never got past jobber role as her record was 3 wins 2 draws and 21 losses in four years.</p><p> </p><p>

- Clara Iglesias becomes the new GWE Women´s champion after winning the belt from Dagmar Johannessen. Johannessen had 8 successful defenses before dropping the belt.</p><p> </p><p>

- Another title changed hands in GWE as well when Pavlos Antzas became the third man to carry GWE Top Contender title. Former champion Telemachus Fyssas had 9 successful defenses before dropping the belt.</p><p> </p><p>

- Edgar Lyttle becomes the latest person to walk away from a promotion when he left AOW after an argument. Lyttle lasted in the company just few months as he was signed in June 1984 and had a record of 1 win, 1 draw and 3 losses during his short AOW career.</p>

I have decided to end this diary here. Main reason is that I have so many other things to do currently that I don´t really have time to keep two diaries going and with this being the side project, it´s easier for me to drop this one than my ESE diary. Also, I have never really been happy about the quality (or lack of it) of the shows and the fact that I never paid much attention or time building the shows and storylines together didn´t help the case either. I just always felt that I should pay little more attention to make this more interesting but never quite had the time or will to actually do so.

Anyway, thanks for everyone who read/commented on this one and hopefully you at least managed to enjoy this on some level. :)
