The fans are cheering Bischoff for saving WCW and he waits for those cheers to die down before he starts talking. Bischoff says that it feels damn good to be back on Monday Nitro but, as always, he is there to take care of some business. First and foremost, Bischoff announces that the Insiders will receive their tag team title shot against The Natural Born Thrillers at the upcoming Great American Bash pay per view, which the crowd cheers for. Bischoff then moves on to the situation regarding the World Title. Bischoff says that he heard what Ric Flair said last week, but he also heard the exchange between Scott Steiner and Sting and, quite frankly, Bischoff was finding himself agreeing with what Sting said. However...in this case he was willing to make one single exception but only certain terms were agreed to by Ric Flair. Bischoff says that he is willing to give Ric Flair a shot at the WCW World Heavyweight Championship at the Great American Bash HOWEVER the stipulation would be that if Ric Flair fails to defeat Booker T at the pay per view then Flair will never again be eligible to compete for the WCW World Title. In a decent match that unfortunately had little crowd interest it was The Cat who picked up the victory after hitting one of his lethal kicks to the head of Disco Inferno. Ernest Miller defeated Disco Inferno at 6.02 by Pinfall. The Cat advances to the US Title tournament. A replay is shown of the attack and the announcers talk about this hatred that Steiner and Animal seems to have for the young upstart team of Air Raid, noting that they had to cheat to beat them last week on Nitro and apparently they are done with Air Raid. Flair then turns his attention to Booker T and tells him to kiss that World Title belt goodbye because come the Great American Bash that title is going home with the Nature Boy! Booker stares Flair down for a long moment and then simply says "I don't think so" before walking off and leaving Flair somewhat flustered. Mike Sanders defeated Jim Duggan by pinfall at 6.02. Sanders advances to the US Title Tournament. In the end it was the Insiders who picked up the win when "Big Sexy" Kevin Nash hit the Jackknife Powerbomb on Shawn Stasiak and picked up the win. The Insiders defeated Mark Jindrak and Shawn Stasiak at 7.44 when Nash pinned Stasiak. In the end it was Flair who picked up the win when he sucessfully locked in the figure four leglock and after fighting it for a while Rhodes had no choice but to tap out. Ric Flair defeated Dustin Rhodes at 9.02 by submission with the figure four leglock. Much as expected this was a great match with an awesome crowd that was completely into the action. The finish of the match came when "The Chosen One" Jeff Jarrett suddenly ran down to the ring carrying his trusted guitar with him. Double J slid into the ring and, without hesitation, shattered the guitar over the head of "Big Poppa Pump" prompting the referee to immediately call for the bell. Jarrett quickly escaped from the ring again as the announcers speculated if Jarrett had lost his mind, making an enemy out of both Scott Steiner and Sting with his actions here tonight. Scott Steiner defeated Sting at 12.36 by DQ following interference by Jeff Jarrett. Additional Roster Cuts Made

We can now confirm that four more people have been released from World Championship Wrestling, adding to the already large number of cuts that has taken place since Eric Bischoff bought the company. The following people have been released from their contracts with World Championship Wrestling as of today:

Cash (Kid Kash)

Chris Harris

James Storm

Lash LeRoux

Reports indicate that these cuts were made because management still felt that the roster was too big for WCW in it's current state. No word yet on whether or not yet more cuts are coming but we will keep you updated.

So, he is going to reward Jarrett as well as punish him for his actions. Bischoff then announcers that Jeff Jarrett will face Sting and Scott Steiner in a three way match at Bash at the Beach with a shot at the WCW World Heavyweight Title on the line. In the end Chavo Guerrero won by pinfall in a match that was not very well received at all. Chavo Guerrero defeated Elix Skipper, Evan Karagias, Shannon Moore, Kaz Hayashi and Yun Yang by pinning Karagias at 5.37. Monday Nitro Preview

With just one show left before WCW's first pay per view since the returning to television, WCW owner Eric Bischoff has announced that the final edition of Monday Nitro before the Bash At The Beach pay per view will feature a "pick your poison" event in which both Booker T and Ric Flair will be allowed to handpick an opponent for each other as we continue the march toward Bash At The Beach. Who will Booker T and Ric Flair choose as each other's opponent? And who will gain the psychological upper hand just mere days before their huge clash at Bash At The Beach?

This weeks edition of Monday Nitro will also feature the entire first round of the US Title tournament. All eight competitors have earned their way into the tournament, but in order to win it, and the US Title, three more matches will have to be won. Which four men will advance to the semi finals? And which four men will see their dream of becoming US Champion destroyed?

Over the past three weeks we have seen heated rivalries unfold between The Insiders and The Natural Born Thrillers, Sting, Jeff Jarrett and Scott Steiner, and Air Raid and Rick Steiner and Road Warrior Animal, but what will happen this week?

Will the numbers game once again work to the Natural Born Thrillers advantage? Or will The Insiders once again manage to turn the tables on their rivals?

Sting, Jeff Jarrett and Scott Steiner will do battle at Bash At The Beach with the winner becoming the number one contender to the WCW World Title, but Scott Steiner is already hell-bent on getting his revenge on Jeff Jarrett after Jarrett attacked Steiner with a guitar two weeks ago. Will Jeff Jarrett once again escape the clutches of Big Poppa Pump? Or will Steiner get his hands on Jarrett and, if so, will Double J even make it to Bash At The Beach? And just how does the Stinger fit into the equation?

Rick Steiner and Road Warrior Animal believes that they should be the focus of the tag team division, but the young upstart team of Air Raid has proven to be a thorn in the veteran's side. Will this rivalry escalate even further? And will Eric Bischoff officially book the match that quite a few people want to see; Road Warrior Animal and Rick Steiner vs. Air Raid?

We have just received word that Rey Misterio Jr. has suffered an injury following the brutal attack by Chavo Guerrero Jr. on Monday Nitro. While the full extent of the injury is still unknown, word is that Rey Misterio is not expected to be back in the ring anytime soon.

Booker eventually found his footing, however, and fought his way back into the match in what then became an even, back and forth match that the fans absolutely loved. The finish came when Booker T looked to have the match won as he was setting Steiner up for the Bookend but Ric Flair suddenly jumped up on the apron of the ring, causing Booker T to make the mistake of taking his eyes off Steiner and go after Flair instead. Flair jumped down from the ring again and taunted Booker who, after a moment, turned back to face Steiner again only to walk right into a Steiner Flatliner which was promptly followed by the one...two...three! World Championship Wrestling To Implement Drug Screening

Following the tragic news of Macho Man Randy Savage's death following a drug overdose, WCW owner Eric Bischoff has announced that, starting at Bash At The Beach, WCW will start doing drug tests in order to combat the use of drugs in professional wrestling.

I think it's obvious that something needs to be done Bischoff said, and I think that as the owner of WCW it is certainly my responsibility to do everything I can to help ensure that this kind of thing never happens again.

The first official drug screening will take place at Bash At The Beach and one will be held after every single show after that.

Hellbent on making the youngsters pay, Steiner and Animal dominated the early parts of this match with a slow paced, hard hitting offense that kept the high-flyers grounded. But as over-confidence began to set in for the veterans, Air Raid, backed by the support of the fans as well as the words of encouragement from Angel at ringside, began to make their comeback, putting the veterans on the defensive with a high-paced, lightning quick offense. The finish came somewhat out of nowhere when Air Styles came up with a surprise rollup on Animal which was just enough to get the three count and the win. This would prove to be a smart strategy for the challenger who got into the champions head and an over-eager Helms began to make mistakes and, following a failed arial attack from Helms, Chavo rolled him up from behind and, using the ropes for leverage, Guerrero got the three count and the win. Chavo Guerrero Jr. defeated Shane Helms at 7.47 by pinfall while using the ropes for leverage. Morrus eventually fought his way back into the match but every time Morrus tried to establish his dominance, the Thrillers used their strength in numbers to their advantage as Stacy distracted the referee while Stasiak interfered in the match on Sanders' behalf. In the end poetic justice would rule the day, however, as Shawn Stasiak accidentally hit Mike Sanders when he went to hit Hugh Morrus and Sanders, dazed from the impact, walked straight into a Hugh Morrus powerbomb which earned him a three count. Hugh Morrus defeated Mike Sanders at 9.13 by pinfall with a powerbomb. Hugh Morrus advances to the US Title tournament finals. This allowed the Thrillers to put themselves firmly in control and it was all about survival for the Insiders. The turning point in the match came when the referee saw Mark Jindrak attacking DDP outside the ring and, rather than DQ the champions--which would have seen them retain the titles--the referee instead decided to eject all Thriller members from ringside with the obvious exception of the Tag Team Champions themselves. This lead to a much more even match but, perhaps somewhat surprisingly, it still seemed as if O'Haire and Palumbo had the upper hand more often than not. The finish came when the match broke down into chaos with O'Haire beating down DDP outside the ring and Palumbo putting the boots to Nash inside the ring. Then, while the referee was busy trying to break up the fight between DDP and Sean O'Haire outside the ring, someone suddenly jumped the security barricade. Mike Tenay: Somebody just jumped the barricade! I think it was... With Nash down on his knees and Palumbo standing above him, Scott Hall quickly slides into the ring and low-blows Palumbo from behind. Palumbo doubles over from the impact--and the pain--and that sets him up perfectly for Nash who gets back to his feet and delivers a devastating Jackknife Powerbomb while Scott Hall quickly leaves the ring and disappears back into the crowd. Nash then gets the referee's attention and covers Palumbo for the one, two, three. The Insiders defeated The Natural Born Thrillers at 11.28 by pinfall when Nash got the pin on Palumbo following a Jackknife Powerbomb. The Insiders wins the WCW Tag Team Championships. Mike Tenay: Diamond Dallas Page is clearly confused here. He has no idea what Scott Hall did and, knowing Page, I don't think he will be happy winning the titles this way. Tony Schiavone: I think you're absolutely right, Mike. DDP never saw Scot Hall's interference. Dusty Rhodes: But Kevin Nash sure did. Mike Tenay: Kevin Nash doesn't care how he wins as long as he wins, but Diamond Dallas Page is different. He is all about honor and respect and this is not the way Diamond Dallas Page wants to get things done. While Nash is still celebrating in the ring, DDP can be seen asking Nash what the hell happened but Nash doesn't seem too interested in answering that question. Scott Steiner has been hot on the heels of Jeff Jarrett ever since Double J took Steiner out with a guitar shot several weeks ago and Steiner went right after Double J to start this match, hitting Jarrett with several high impact moves that eliminated Jarrett from the equation for the time being. The next several minutes was a one on one match between Steiner and Sting, and it was a very even one at that as both men took turns at being in control. Jarrett eventually rejoined the match after Sting scored a nearfall on Steiner and from there momentum switched back and forth between all three men repeatedly. The finish came when Sting had been taken out by a vicious chair shot from Jeff Jarrett and it came down to Double J and Scott Steiner. Steiner eventually managed to get Jarrett locked into the Steiner Recliner and after fighting it off or a while, Jarrett tapped out. Scott Steiner defeated Jeff Jarrett and Sting at 14.58 by submission when Jarrett tapped out to the Steiner Recliner. Scott Steiner becomes the number one contender to the WCW World Title. Booker T has fallen victim to the Figure Four Leglock two weeks in a row and it's hard to imagine that his legs are 100% for this match. Tony Schiavone: Not to mention that Booker T actually lost to Scott Steiner last Monday night on Nitro. Dusty Rhodes: Ric Flair had something to do with that. Mike Tenay: He did, but even so it has been a rough couple of weeks for the champion. The high stakes, hotly anticipated main event of the night between the WCW World Champion, Booker T, and the challenger, Ric Flair, did not disappoint. The fans were into the match from the start and never lost interest. Flair took control early on by working on the damaged legs of Booker T, and he was relentless in keeping up the pressure. Booker T slowly but surely managed to work his way back into the match but it seemed as if "The Dirtiest Player In The Game" always managed to cut Booker's momentum off before it truly go going. That changed midway through the match, however, and Booker T dominated the next several minutes but he only scored a couple of near-falls and suddenly Booker found himself locked in the Figure Four Leglock once again. Booker struggled bravely against it and eventually managed to make it to the ropes, much to Flair's frustration as Flair claimed that Booker T had given up, though the referee sternly informed him that wasn't the case. The finish finally came when both men found themselves down and out on the floor of the ring, both completely exhausted from the grueling match. Both men struggled to get to their feet and did so at the same time. Flair charged at a seemingly dazed Booker T but, out of nowhere, Booker grabbed Flair, hit the Bookend and managed to drape an arm across Flair's chest... One... Two... Three!!! Booker T defeated Ric Flair at 17.25 by pinfall with the Bookend. Booker T retains the WCW World Championship. The Insiders defeated The Natural Born Thrillers to capture the WCW Tag Team Championships when Kevin Nash pinned Chuck Palumbo following interference by Scott Hall. Hugh Morrus defeated Mike Sanders by pinfall following botched interference by Shawn Stasiak. to advance to the US Title tournament finals. Chavo Guerrero Jr. defeated Shane Helms by pinfall while using the ropes for leverage to capture the WCW Cruiserweight Championship. Air Raid defeated Road Warrior Animal and Rick Steiner by pinfall when Air Styles pinned Animal following a quick rollup. Lance Storm defeated Fit Finlay by submission to advance to the US Title tournament finals.

Wow, how did you possibly get Hall signed? Can't say I saw that one coming. I foresee the NBT blowing up again after the way their night went. Too bad about Flair though. Time decline, I'm guessing?

A great show overall. But yes, Flair's segments really disappointed. If it isn't decline, it has to be a stat problem. Gotta check it. But anyway, i'm hooked.

No time decline for Flair as of yet. There's been a few segments I thought would do better than they did (just recently booked the first Nitro after Bash At The Beach and there's a real head-scratcher of a segment rating on that show as well) so I'm thinking that I need to take better care when booking the segments and deciding what to rate them on. Flair should be gold on the mic.

As for Scott Hall, he's the one bit of cheating I did when I started this game up as I gave him a WCW contract through the editor. Always been a huge Scott Hall fan so I really wanted him on my roster <img alt="" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />
