A hard-hitting affair opened up SmackDown, and neither man pulled any punches with their bruising styles. This one was a stiff contest and both wrestlers looked good coming out of it. After a failed attempt at the Alabama Slam, Holly got caught with a Powerbomb and then a Clothesline From Hell for a Bradshaw victory.

JBL's in-ring work has already improved since his gimmick change.

up, he looks for another Powerbomb, but US Champion
John Cena
hits the ring! The Doctor of Thuganomics slides under the ropes and is in Bradshaw's face in the blink of an eye, hurling punches and knocking the dastardly villain away from his fallen foe! Cena throws wild punches and clotheslines JBL over the top rope! Bradshaw retreats to the back, holding his eye, which has swollen to an enormous size. The US Champ stands tall in this one, as SmackDown heads to a commercial break.

Continuing to impress after their challenge for the WWE Tag Team titles, Paul London and Brian Kendrick matched up with fellow cruiserweights in this one. In a fast paced matchup that saw Nunzio nearly take the victory with the Sicilian Slice, Paul London hit a 450 Splash on the Italian for the win.

Round 1; TV Title Tournament

These two put on a decent athletic competition, with Jordan trying to wear down the smaller Kidman. Every chance they got, Porter and Burke would harass Torrie Wilson or Kidman to cause a distraction, but Kidman put that to an end by hitting a springboard Shooting Star Press to the two on the outside! Kidman got back into the ring at the seven count. Jordan pounced immediately and looked for the Blackout, but the music of Rey Mysterio hit! After tossing Kidman aside and looking down the aisle, Jordan realized that Rey Rey actually wasn't coming out -- and turned around into a small package! Kidman picked up the win and will face Chavo Guerrero, the man who injured him a few weeks ago, in the second round of the tournament!

Handicap Match

Orchestrated by General Manager Paul Heyman, this match was a mugging and a farce from the start. Eddie gave it his all, reeling both of his opponents at different points, getting the crowd going a bit, but he was eventually put down at different points with a running big boot by Reigns and then a powerslam by Big Show to quell his second rally. Heyman's henchmen never wanted to defeat the champion, and instead found themselves disqualified after Big Show refused to let go of a vicious choke while Reigns stomped on Guerrero.

: 11:59. Reigns is gonna inherit some in-ring skills from these guys. (I wanted to have Show and Reigns win, but Guerrero wouldn't let it happen even if Big Show pinned him.)

The post-match antics were simply an extension of the match itself.
Reigns

continued to destroy the WWE Champion as
Paul Heyman
walked out to the top of the ramp, applauding. Big Show finished him off with a Chokeslam before grabbing the WWE Championship belt and laying it across the champion's fallen carcass.

is in the back again, and a voice off-screen congratulates him on what happened out there. Heyman thanks him and says that he always gets what he wants ... even if it means taking it. Pushing a clipboard forward, a man signs a SmackDown contract -- it's
Mark Jindrak!

The commentators note that he voided his RAW contract, walking out on it, and here he is on SmackDown! They hype the potential future that this man has, and are excited to welcome him to the blue brand.

No Disqualification

These rivals took their dispute to a no-disqualification matchup to conclude this week's broadcast. Their second encounter was better than their first, with pure brawling as the premise. Both men laid a beating on one another, with Steiner looking to keep the Deadman grounded and 'Taker trying to use his agility to his advantage. Steiner used a variety of chokes to hurt the Phenom, trying to cut off the air flow at every turn. As the fight spilled around to the outside, 'Taker began to use his instinct. Eventually, Steiner found himself hit with a Last Ride through the Spanish announce table! Tossing Steiner into the ring, The Undertaker looked for the final "nail in the coffin," the Tombstone Piledriver. However, before he could lift up "Big Poppa Pump," a man came running out of the crowd!

It's Mark Henry! With his smarmy manager Theodore R. Long trailing behind him, "The World's Strongest Man" gets in the ring and pounds down on The Undertaker! He hits the World's Strongest Slam on the Deadman, and with the referee powerless to take action, Henry pulls Scott Steiner's arm over the Deadman's chest, Charles Robinson had no choice but to count three!

: 12:25. Steiner was getting tired, and honestly didn't look so great in the ring when he was fresh.

The crowd took to them early, as Val started the match taking on Grenier. The two traded blows and went back and forth, with Val connecting with a Russian legsweep. Venis and Goldust looked to teach the youngsters a thing or two, and Goldust ended up facing off with Robert Conway. The Golden One looked good until he was caught with a DDT by Conway. <br id=""><br id="">The anti-Americans took over from there a bit, isolating Goldust. They went for the Au Revoir, but Venis broke it up. This allowed Goldust to recover and hit a reverse DDT to Conway. He went for the cover, but Conway kicked out at two! Goldust crawled over to the corner to make the hot tag to Venis, and Grenier was tagged in on the other end. Val landed a series of strikes and hit a half nelson slam! Conway tried to interfere as Val went for the Money Shot, but found himself being charged by Goldust! Conway pulled down the top rope, sending the Golden One to the floor, and pulled Grenier out of the way of Val’s finisher. Van Dam started the match with a series of quick pinfall attempts, but to no avail. He had Nitro reeling early, hitting him with a shuffling side kick to the face. Nitro went outside the ring to talk to Melina, and Van Dam faked a running plancha, making Nitro slip and fall to the ground in anticipation! RVD did his classic “R V D” finger points and Nitro was enraged. He got back in the ring and the two grappled, with Nitro pulling hair and gaining the advantage. Nitro worked on the legs of RVD, wisely trying to keep him grounded.</span><br id=""><br id=""><span style="font-family: calibri,arial,sans-serif; color: #d3d3d3;">After a few minutes of rest holds, the two fantastic athletes got back at it. Nitro hit a couple of European uppercuts, but Van Dam blocked one and dropkicked Nitro in the knee. RVD hit a monkey flip after a series of strikes, and then blocked a kick into a step-over spinning heel kick! Melina helped Nitro move out of the way of Rolling Thunder, and Nitro was back on the offensive. He picked up Van Dam, who hit another roundhouse kick to take control! A couple of minutes later, Van Dam went for the split-legged moonsault, but Nitro rolled out of the way! Immediately, Johnny went up and hit a <em id="">corkscrew</em> split-legged moonsault! Impressed, the crowd “wow”ed him, but RVD was able to kick out at two. Nitro was sick of it and wanted to go for his finisher, but then noticed a man in the crowd – it was Jeff Hardy!
