im sorry but quite simply Undertaker returning on RAW PPV is the only way in my opinion No way out of texas is were he should have returned

First things first - a big thank you to everyone who posted feedback above; it's greatly appreciatted. Also, a massive thanks to Beejus for the DOTM nominations and then another big thanks to everyone who voted for this diary - it's an honour to be nominated. Brian Christopher still has the LH title -_-</div></blockquote> Souled Out did indeed suck; but it's a little disheartening that WCW can give everyone a Public Enemy break-up match and Glacier vs Lodi and still get the same overall rating as the Royal Rumble... oh well.. Glad you enjoyed the Rumble - a lot of effort went into making it feel authentic and I do love booking Rumbles.. Michaels vs. Undertaker, I like how you had everything happen similarly to real life, because honestly I'm not sure if there could have been a more effective way to go about it. This was the time when Kane had so much promise, and continually jobbing to Taker as well as other poor booking decisions led him down a road where he never achieved his full potential as a character in my opinion. Considering it's fresh in my mind, I would say Owen attacking Austin and setting up that match at No Way Out of Texas. Just the theoretical possibility of Owen actually having a chance to headline WrestleMania makes me happy, even if there's a zero percent chance of it happening. Hoping his potential gets realized as well. What was your least favourite moment of the month, and why? Other than Brian Christopher being the LH Champ, TAKA not beating Christopher. <img alt=":p" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></div></blockquote> the build to Undertaker vs Kane and to a lesser extent Austin vs HBK in real life was really good so it's difficult to deviate and still book something to be proud of so that's why I still had a very similar Casket Match (albeit without Los Boricuas) - hopefully the long term plans I have for Kane keep his character strong as his continual jobbing to 'Taker did leave him a bit 'toothless'.. in Owen's mind he won the Rumble match and there is zero chance that he won't be headlining WrestleMania XIV. What I think would've been better is that someone else had taken the victory and Austin would've kept pestering them, attacking them constantly and whatnot until the winner put their title shot on the line. Since if the winner put the title shot on the line there wouldn't have been nout for Vince to say at that point. I know these kinds of things happen in wrestling all the time but I'm still bothered by them every time <img alt=":p" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /> What was your favourite moment of the month, and why? How you've booked Owen Hart. Everyone who says Owen didn't have ME potential is wrong, he is the most underrated wrestler of the Attitude Era. Dude had way better mic skills, charisma and star aura than he is ever given credit for. You've firmly established him as one of the top heels of Raw is War and it looks like a future World title is in store for him. <img alt=":)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /> What was your least favourite moment of the month, and why? Brian "Bullcrap" Christopher. Enough said.</div></blockquote> I see your point with Austin but this is wrestling so things dont always have to make sense. In kayfabe terms Austin was not supposed to be in the match; Vince had kept him out of the building but the sneaky Rattlesnake took out an unsuspecting Savio and forced his way into the match - what was Vince supposed to do; stop the show mid-match? head out there himself. His hands were tied and then when Austin ended up winning he had no choice - he couldnt void the match - this is the Royal Rumble! But in forcing Austin into a steel cage with Owen Hart he has the chance to save his Wrestlemania.. As for Undertaker returning - its the Undertaker; he cant be stopped. I agree that maybe the night after was a little too soon; but I've got plans for Taker at NWOOT so I had to bring him back when I did.. Please! Stop! Let me go! Undertaker begins to unload but the fight back is promptly brought to a halt as Kane enters the fray and a two-on-one assault ensues. With Undertaker reluctant to fight back the Big Red Machine is able to dominate and he ultimately drops the Phenom with a huge Chokeslam. With Undertaker down on the canvas Bundy hits the ropes and lands a massive splash in the centre of the ring. Bearer calls Kane and Bundy off and the three men stand tall over a fallen Phenom whilst Bearer announces that Undertaker and Bundy will square off at No Way Out of Texas in 13 days. The consequences of any physical confrontation will be the immediate termination of the aggressor. Austin flips the bird to Owen who can do nothing but watch as Stone Cold takes a few beers and has a celebratory drink. Hawk dominates early but once Gunn gets in control the after effects of last week’s Spike Piledriver are clear to see. Gunn puts a beating on Hawk but is unable to put him away – until a distraction by the Road Dogg on the outside allows Gunn to clobber Hawk with a title belt to steal the victory. However, that was not to be as Billy Gunn looked to repay the favour as he slide into the ring and clobbered Animal with a title belt much the way he had Hawk earlier – but unfortunately for the Champions the referee caught this shot and signalled for the immediate disqualification. Winner: Animal by Disqualification after a shot to the face with a title belt by Billy Gunn at 5:16 Rating: 47</div> </div> After the bell sounds the Outlaws put a beating on Animal before Hawk attempts to make the save. Unfortunately for Hawk the effects of both the Piledriver and the title shot to the face leave him groggy and he is easily dispatched by the Champions. In a scene very similar to last week the Outlaws end their assault by dropping Animal with a nasty Spike Piledriver in the centre of the ring. Michaels attempted to stop him but the threat that the Mastodon may turn his sights on HBK meant that the WWF Champion simply backed out of the ring. Once everything was set up in the ring, the WWF Owner Vince McMahon made his way to the ring with a broad smile plastered across his face and a thick contract in his hand. After thanking the fans and welcoming them to the contract signing, Vince made the introductions for the two competitors – Owen Hart and Steve Austin. Owen made his way with a very business-minded approach – he wanted to get the contract signed and sealed so that he could focus on the Cage match itself. Austin however was his usual Stone Cold self – walking down to the ring with a beer in hand intent on raising hell. Austin offered Owen a beer before they took their seats but he was not at all receptive – Stone Cold shrugged and pushed the beer into Owen’s chest; covering him. McMahon had to quickly get things under control and went through the specifics of the contract. The pair would face each other inside a Steel Cage at No Way Out of Texas on February 15th – with the stipulation being that the winner would be guaranteed a shot at the WWF World Heavyweight Championship in the main event of WrestleMania XIV. The minor details made reference to the fact that neither man could touch each other in an aggressive manner until the Cage was secured around the ring on Sunday night – a secondary point mentioned that Steve Austin could not lay his hands on the WWF Owner either or face an immediate dismissal. Owen quickly signed on the dotted line and demanded that Austin follow suit; and much to everyone’s surprise – including McMahon’s – Stone Cold signed without comment. Austin gave Owen and Vince a wry smile before turning and heading out of the ring. Vince was thoroughly confused and demanded to know what the hell Austin was playing at as he went through the curtain. After a few moments of Vince quizzing Owen – and Owen having no idea what the hell Austin was up to – the glass shattered for a second time. This time however, Austin reappeared behind the wheel of a beer truck – which he drove all the way up to the ring apron. “Hold on one second Austin; what the hell do you think you’re doing driving that god damn truck out here? Have you lost your mind?” Without returning comment to Vince; Stone Cold walks around to the back of truck; he unhooks a pipe and calmly walks towards the ring. Vince gulps and looks worryingly at Owen – but before either man can make a move Austin turns the pump on and douses the ring with beer. The force of the beer takes Vince straight off of his feet but Owen somehow stands strong despite being covered from head to toe. “You pair of assholes looked like you needed a stiff drink – so here’s one from your good friend Stone Cold. Owen – make sure you sober up before Sunday – cause I don’t want to drag your drunken ass around this ring. Now; if you think Steve Austin should sit down and drink a cold one of his own – gimme a hell yeah?!” The crowd respond with a huge resounding “Hell Yeah” of their own – as Austin takes a big drink and covers himself in beer. Lots of people seem to be going for Mero as the new member of Camp Cornette. I'd be interested in knowing whether that's a case of something that's happened to suggest it or everyone thinks he would just fit?

As a clue; the new member is already a member of the roster and we've seen him in the diary so far..

Other than that a couple of notes from me regarding the go home Raw..

Really happy with how the main event turned out - got my hopes up high that we would beat WCW and then the contract signing flopped because Owen messed up without a script.. I was hoping that angle was going to pull a high-80s maybe low-90s rating to drag the overall show into the mid-80s but it wasn't to be..

I'm looking forward to NWOOT - will hope to have it posted next week.. My process is to book a show in excel; write everything up in word and then book in TEW.. I'm putting the final touches together in excel at the moment but I'll hopefully get a lot done over the weekend..

Mero just seems to fit. He's someone who's been getting "screwed by the man" (i.e. his storyline with Sable having been that he feels he's the bigger star than her) and if you're going for a midcard stable, then he's a midcard stalwart that would do good with being a weasel heel with backup. He also doesn't seem to be doing much at present time, so you could slot him into CC in order to give him something to do, whether it be joining in on whatever other feud is going on with them, or having a run for the tag belts.

The World’s Most Dangerous Man had clearly not forgotten his run-ins with DX just a few months ago as he tried has hardest to beat on Triple H at each and every opportunity. Once Shamrock finally caught up with the Champion he hit Helmsley with an onslaught of stiff shots and suplex’s. After a planting Triple H with a huge Belly-to-Belly Suplex in the centre of the ring Shamrock snapped and entered the zone. He grabs hold of Helmsley ankle, flips him over and locks in the Ankle Lock. Helmsley screams in pain and struggles – grabbing and clawing at anything he could find. Triple H finally grabbed hold of the referee’s leg – unable to break Shamrock’s grip he desperately nailed the referee with a low blow. With the Ankle Lock still locked on Helmsley is forced to tap out but not before the downed official called for the disqualification. After beating on the Phenom for several minutes; Bundy sends the Undertaker crashing into the corner – he charges but misses a huge Avalanche Splash. Undertaker lifts the dazed Bundy up onto his shoulder and drops him face first onto the top turnbuckle – Taker hits the ropes and lands a big boot to the face. Bearer climbs onto the apron – but receives a right hand from the Undertaker – this opening allows Bundy to get back into the contest; he lifts Undertaker up looking for a Powerslam; but the Undertaker reverses it straight into a Tombstone Piledriver. The pair fought on top before Stone Cold dragged Owen back inside and they continued to brawl on the top rope – Owen got the advantage again and slammed Austin into the cage and he collapsed backwards onto the canvas. Owen thought about escaping again – but deciding to try and wear Austin down even more; he launched himself from the top rope and connected with a diving head butt. Satisfied with his efforts Owen once again tried to escape but this time once Austin caught up to him it was Owen who has sent crashing into the cage and falling back into the ring. Stone Cold had no thoughts of escape as he quickly joined Owen on the canvas and began talking trash in his ear. The next several minutes saw Austin working over Owen and sending the match firmly into the brawl category. Knowing everything was on the line; Owen fought back and had Austin in position for a reverse Piledriver – screaming that he wanted to break Stone Cold’s neck once again. But Austin reversed it and planted Owen with a Piledriver of his own. Austin continued to brawl with the Black Hart and the pair went back and forth and could seemingly not be split. Owen began throwing everything he had at Austin; hitting a Northern Lights Suplex before transitioning into the Sharpshooter. Owen wrenches back on the hold trying to get Austin to pass out in pain; but Austin is impossible to keep down as he powers out and forces Owen to overbalance and release the hold. Owen still has the advantage and attempts to hit Stone Cold with a reverse Piledriver again – but Austin once again reverses; hitting Owen with a huge Stone Cold Stunner that sends Hart crashing across the ring. Austin struggles to his feet and makes the long climb up the cage – as he nears the top Owen begins the stir. The Black Hart begins to climb the cage but struggles to find his footing on the cage – Austin sits on the top and looks down at Owen. The Rattlesnake flips Owen the bird and begins to climb down the outside and into victory. The bell sounds and the crowd goes wild – a bloodied and battered Austin celebrates as we go off the air. It's a three-way tie after No Way Out but with any luck WrestleMania will separate the field. Great to see some new faces - hope that you all stick around and enjoy the show.

A few points from me; first off - apologies for the delay; despite being really hyped for this show its taken me an age to actually write the damn thing - but I'm pretty happy with how its gone.

Booking wise; Earthquake flopped - fans were not happy to see him; shame really as I love the big guy and was gonna give him a midcard run - that is unlikely to happen now.

Nobody got Dustin Rhodes as the mystery man in Camp Cornette - and I probably shouldnt have gone with him; the gimmick change bombed and it's made me think twice about my plans for the group.

I'm happy with how the two main events turned out; and we've already got the two WrestleMania main events confirmed so it's going to be a fun six weeks as we head to Boston on March 29th.

Any thoughts or comments on the show or the general direction are always appreciated; and hopefully I'm not as long between shows as we run toward the Granddaddy of them all!

I completely missed this when you originally posted it, so I'm a bit late. Few thoughts about NWO:

<ul><li>The finest moment of the show was Liger winning the Light Hvw gold. Let's face it: BC sucks and he is only in because of King. Obviously Liger is awesome and not only because of his attire. Hopefully you'll bring some lighter guys from the dark show to the mix, like Flash Funk and TAKA for example. I always thought WWF should've given more time for some of the Japanese wrestlers. Kaientai for tag gold in the near future! <img alt="" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /> </li><li>Shamrock should totally use a 'nutter' gimmick. </li><li>DX calling Vader a fat bastard constantly is lame. Here's to hoping you have something planned for the big man, since he used to be pretty big still in 96/97. </li><li>I thought Kane backing out of a fight with Taker was odd. Considering that he just seems so mad, would've loved to see him fight no matter if he took a beating or not. Hopefully you're not going to fizzle him out after a loss to Taker. He's a reliable upper midcarder, especially once (/if) he improves a bit. </li></ul>

Had I not thought you'd be liberating us from the pain that is Brian Christopher, I would've gone 100% on the matches! Other than that the show was pretty straight forward, not many surprises, which is understandable given that Mania is knocking around the corner.

Liger was always planned to take the title; I may have bumped it further forward though (I think originally I had him pencilled in for Mania).. I'm not really sure where to take the LHW division just yet as I'm struggling to get them on the card each week and I'd probably prefer to do nothing than half-arse something.. as for the tag run idea - maybe not Kaientai but Chirashi may have a proper run in the tag division once I've sorted out my LHW plans.. The 'crazy' Ken side of his gimmick will hopefully shine through in coming weeks; I always liked Shamrock so hope to do him some justice.. Don't worry on the Vader front; he wont be conducting post-match interviews with Michael Cole calling himself a fat piece of shit any time soon.. I want to keep him strong and in the frame over the next few months - I feel like he has many uses as a gatekeeper to the top of the card.. My feeling with Kane backing out of the fight was that he was so taken aback by Undertaker retaliating that he didnt know what to do.. maybe I didnt do that justice having read it back again just now.. Thanks again.. And as a note; I've got everything bar the main event written up for Raw; I'm just struggling for time to sit down and write at the moment.. soon though, I promise!

The Outlaws had both the advantage of being a full-time team and; with all respect to the injured Legion of Doom; they had much the easier contest just 24 hours earlier. Despite this disadvantage Vader and Austin eventually proved to be a deadly combination with Vader’s size and Austin non-stop assault proving critical in this contest. With Austin stomping a mud hole in the Road Dogg in one corner it allowed Vader to squash Gunn in the opposite corner with a huge Vader Bomb to build momentum towards next week’s rematch for the WWF Championship. All eight men brawled in the ring until Hart and Shamrock began to focus on each other and tumbled out of the ring. Shamrock and Owen fought to the back to leave DX fighting with Austin and Vader. Eventually the Rattlesnake and the Mastodon got the advantage with Vader crushing Helmsley in the corner with a huge avalanche as Austin dropped both Road Dogg and Billy Gunn with rapid fire Stone Cold Stunners. Seeing the writing on the wall the WWF Champion took refuge outside the ring; with Michaels grabbing his title belt and choosing to fight another day. Austin and Vader cleared the remaining DX members from the ring and stood tall with HBK looking on from the entrance ramp at his next two challengers as we go off the air. The announce team are once again interrupted by the arrival of D-Generation X – the new, four man strong, group make their arrival covered in all the gold. DX start to have some fun with all four men making fun of Vader – with Michaels going as far as to tell Vader not to bother getting in the ring tonight as his fat ass will never be the WWF Champion. HBK reminds the Mastodon that the WWF is a different league to Japan where sumo wrestlers like Vader can win the World Title – Michaels is an athlete and he plans to outwrestle the big man before doing the same to Steve Austin at WrestleMania.

The Commissioner Sgt. Slaughter makes his arrival to spoil the fun of DX – and he has plans in place to keep the other three men busy ahead of Michaels defending the WWF Title. Sarge has big plans for Raw with two title matches scheduled before the WWF Title match in the main event of War Zone. DX are furious but Slaughter continues by announcing that Triple H will defend against the natural disaster – Earthquake! But before all that; the Outlaws are defending their titles against two men who found Slaughter backstage and demanding matches tonight on Raw – the Outlaws will defend against Faarooq and Flash Funk up next on Raw.

The champions started slowly as their opponents clearly had something to prove; but the nature of two singles superstars will no tag team experience was no match for the New Age Outlaws. Gunn and Road Dogg managed to isolate the smaller Funk – and ultimately ended things with a Spike Piledriver to retain their titles.

We get the third in a series pre-filmed vignettes for the debut of Val Venis – he continues to make sexual innuendos and reminds us that he is coming.

The lights go out in the arena and fire begins to burn at the entrance way signalling the arrival of Kane and Paul Bearer. The Big Red Machine sends fire out of the turnbuckles and Bearer begins to talk about the demise of the Undertaker. Bearer claims that we will never see the Phenom again after what Kane did to him last week; but before he can go any further the lights go out in the arena.

Lightning strikes the ring and when the lights return The Undertaker is stood in the centre of the ring staring a hole right through his brother. Kane takes the challenge and squares up to the Deadman; as Bearer screams about how Undertaker will die at Wrestlemania. The lights go out again and after the bell tolls we return to find The Undertaker nowhere to be seen; and Paul Bearer lying motionless on the canvas. Kane looks thoroughly confused but he looks around and his brother is gone and the damage already done.

It’s clear from the off that Helmsley wants nothing to do with Earthquake in the early goings of the match; but once the big man finally catches him the pair have a solid back and forth battle. With Earthquake looking to utilise his power game; Triple H has to wrestle on the counter attack and hit a Pedigree on the back of a missed splash in the corner to take an uneasy victory over a difficult opponent.

The Nation of Domination are led out to the ring by the WWF Intercontinental Champion The Rock – and Rocky is quick to start laying into Cactus Jack. Rocky compares Cactus to Dude Love – and the only difference the Rock can see is Cactus doesn’t wear the ugly tie dye; Rocky knows he can easily beat Dude so why should Cactus be any different? Cactus Jack hits the ring and he tells The Rock that the main difference is that Jack just wants a brawl; and with that he charges at the Nation and sends all three men spilling from the ring.

Cactus and Kama have a big brawl and both men get in a lot of good shots on each other but it was Cactus who held the edge for much of the match. Kama held his own; but even with The Rock and D’Lo at ringside he succumbed to a Double Arm DDT from Cactus.

We head backstage and see Ken Shamrock in the training room – he is doing boxing drills against a heavy bag and seems to be getting into the zone. Out of nowhere though, Shamrock is blindsided by Owen Hart – the Black Hart has brass knuckles taped to both fists and works over Shamrock. The World’s Most Dangerous Man attempts a fight back but Hart keeps the pressure on and leaves Shamrock in a bloody mess before emergency personnel rush the scene and force Hart to leave as they attend to Shamrock.

The WWF’s owner Vince McMahon makes his way to the ring and he talks about tonight’s main event for the WWF Championship – he claims that he doesn’t care who wins as either man would be a better representation of the company than that foul mouthed Steve Austin. Typically, it doesn’t take long for Stone Cold to have heard enough and the glass shatters signalling his arrival.

Steve Austin hits the ring and tells McMahon that he makes no difference to Austin who the Champion is; in just five weeks – Stone Cold will stomp a mudhole in whoever gets in his way and walk it dry all the way to the WWF Championship. Stone Cold has waited long enough and at WrestleMania – he will be the Champion and that’s all he’s got to say about that. As Austin turns to leave; McMahon puts his hand on Austin to stop him – this visibly pisses off Austin who asks him what the hell he thinks he’s doing. McMahon tells the Rattlesnake that he isn’t finished – Austin asks McMahon what else he has to say; but before he gets a response – he drops him with a Stone Cold Stunner once again. Austin grabs a couple of beers as McMahon is taken backstage.

The main event is quick to descend into chaos with Vader looking to gain both revenge and the WWF Championship and Michaels looking to do anything he can to prevent him for getting either. The pair went hell for leather from the off and were soon spilling out of the ring onto the floor and even into the front row – with the referee being very liberal with his count, allowing both men to get away with more than usual.

This came to bite the official as a mistimed charge into the corner by the Mastodon saw HBK pull the official into his path and send the poor referee crumbling to the canvas. It wasn’t long until the rest of D-Generation X made their presence felt as Triple H and the Outlaws assaulted the big man and a 4-on-1 beatdown took place in the ring. Vader fought back however and was determined to stay in the match; he sent the Outlaws out of the ring but a Sweet Chin Music looked to end the match. Once the referee was dragged into position by Triple H – Vader had mustered enough effort to just kick out before the three count.

Michaels and Helmsley then began to get frantic; but they were left frozen by the surprise arrival of Steve Austin. Stone Cold hit the ring and handed out a Stunner to Triple H and then each of the Outlaws. Michaels struck the Rattlesnake from behind; but quickly regretted it and three seconds later he was down and out on the canvas following a Stone Cold Stunner. Vader dragged himself up to the top rope and with Austin’s approval; delivered a huge Vader Bomb on HBK. The Mastodon made the cover and with the crowd screaming and on their feet; the referee made the slow count to three and we had a new WWF Champion.

With everyone going crazy Austin hands the WWF Championship to its new owner as The Mastodon declares that “It’s Time; It’s Vader Time!” DX try to regroup at ringside but the four men are forced to retreat without the WWF title in their grasp. Austin and Vader share a celebratory beer or two; with Austin telling Vader that he will see him at WrestleMania.
