Douglas Booth - [Lead] - [Douglas Booth is known as the kid that is good at absolutely everything, still only 17 due to turn 18 at the end of the year, Douglas comes from a very loving family and is constantly surrounded by girls which has caused Douglas to gain a reputation as a bit of a player. Douglas excels in school and Rugby League and if it wasn't for his damage ankle would have been selected or the Raiders along with Owen. Douglas isn't exactly as drug-addicted as the others but when the boys are doing it he wont turn it down. Douglas is extremely polite to all and even very humbled and a bit of a sweet talker when it comes to the girls which just adds to his charm] - [Approach Luke Mitchell]

Owen Bauckham-Taylor - [secondary] - [Owen Bauckham-Taylor is also 18 years old and was once an innocent kid who became good mates with Davide through St. Edmunds Catholic College in which they both attended and Davide got Owen hooked on drugs but when Davide and Owen were caught doing drugs, Owen took the heat and was expelled as well as kicked out of his extremely religious Maori household. Originally seen as an absolute dickhead. Before a game however Davide catches Lachlan snorting up before the game and Davide has a bit instantly getting hooked and this began a friendship between the two of them. Lachlan is alot quieter then the others which may be because he's so stoned all the time or because thats just his personality. He always provides the boys with drugs] - [Approach James Frecheville]

Kyle Pacer - [secondary] - [Moved down with his little brother Lachlan as a way to get away from all the drug politics surrounding him at the Gold Coast, Kyle begins to sell drugs in Canberra gaining a real friendship with Davide despite Lachlan not liking this one bit. When the boys planed their trip Kyle overheard them and told them about a mate of his up there that sells a wicked drug before telling them that he would only sell the drugs to Kyle himself prompting Davide to invite him straight away. Kyle is a very conniving character and very creepy and sly. He just like Davide is always looking for trouble] - [Approach Xavier Samuel]

One Last Trip

I think you need to pay some fee to based something of a true story. It would be cool if you can show me link to the story the movie is based on.

Deniz Akdeniz(0.65 SP)

- He really likes the character, so he will be fine with 585,000.

Luke Mitchell(0.80 SP)

- He is ambitious and would like more exposure if he can gets them. So, he would take 560,000 + 2 future roles: 1 at least second lead and 1 at least support, within your next 7 movies.

Stan Walker(0.40 SP)

- He would like 280,000 + another non-cameo role in your next 5 movies.

James Frecheville(0.70 SP)

- He would take 490,000.

- Actually, he is more interested in the Owen Bauckham-Taylor and wonders if you could give him that character. He is willing to lower his offer if you do so.

Xavier Samuel(1.00 SP)

- He would like 650,000.

- Alternatively, you can give him a main lead role in your next 4 and he will take this at the price of 425,000.

Bella Heathcote(0.75 SP)

- She would like 412,500 + 1 non-cameo role in your next 6 movies.

Nick Cassavettes(2.05 SP)

- He would take 3,075,000 + 3% of the movie's profit.

I give them a lower than average SP because they are not well-known in Hollywood yet. Foreign stars are given lower score as they must make a name there before people will view them as credible stars.

"Oh...hello there, I'm the Monopoly Man. Y'know, Things are always quite crazy in Gettemsburg, Infact that's exactly why i'm vacationing out in the real world for the winter....yes i'm a winter bird, no, I am not a retired old fart....yes, I am in a game, No- *Senor Bankrupt* Now stop asking all these questions! We're here to tell you a story! Not answer to your god damn questions that are just crap to my ears!.....*Monopoly Man* What he ment to say was, Do you ever wonder...What would it be like to own a Monopoly?.....If you had, That's great! Have fun with it then! *Senor Bankrupt* If not, Then i'd say you're mentally retarded *Monopoly Man* or maybe it's high time you begun to figure out...OFF WE GO!"

*Cue opening title and a rock version of the good ol' classic Come On, Let's play Monopoly*

We now cut into a house near Denver, Colorado, this is where we see Norris and his best friend in the entire world playing a nice ol' game of Monopoly, And to no surprise, Norris is destroying him in this. "*rolls the dice*, 6!....Chance, Let's see what we've got here....AW HELL YEAH! OFF TO COLLECT $200 MOTHER BUTTER!", "Man, you do that ALL the damn time man, dontcha think it's time you bring the title to the REAL champ?", "Oh really? Gee, let me see, Sure buddy, I'll let you win........when George Zimmerman GETS ARRESTED I WILL!" "HEY! WOULD YOU KEEP YOUR CRAP DOWN?! I'M TRYING TO SLEEP!"......."*Sigh* That is the biggest asshole in the entire neighborhood.", "I HEARD THAT!", Anyways, Norris's best friend ends up in the tax place but has no money to pay, Hell, He has exactly -$5,290 in Monopoly money, so he calls it quits and declares Norris the biggest piece of Monopoly trash in the entire world!

"....Well THANK you!". "I SAID TO SHUT YOUR MOUTH!", "WELL THE PRICE IS WRONG YA OL' FART!", Bad choice right?......Well hell yeah, As Norris's best friend leaves to not face the consequences and Norris decides, ah the hell with it, What's the old fart got to him now?, At 12:00 AM, Norris is back, apparently gotten beaten up by the old man, so he goes off to bed, but during his dream........well, that's where shit starts going down.......

*THE DREAM*

The next day, Norris starts his day off as usual, warming up for his weekly Monopoly meet while eating a breakfast of McDonalds Fries when all of a sudden, he is zapped off into the world of Monopoly, unconsious and of no idea what in the world is going on, he meets the Monopoly man! "Why hello there! And welcome to Gettemsburg!" "AGH! HOLY CRAP!.....What am I doing here?! I'm supposed to be training!", "You mean your NOT my coffee maker then?", "Heck no!", ".......Oh...........well, This is embrassing....", Norris asked why the hell is he even here anyways, The Monopoly Man tells him of a man who is the biggest pussy in the land, "He is a total, complete and utter piece of appleshick, and FURTHERMORE, A DUMB NIG-", "YO, YO TONY! WE AIN'T GOIN' TO SAY THAT!", "Why not Senor Bankrupt?", "Because we gonna get fired THAT'S why!", "Oh yeah, right.", Norris asks who Senor Bankrupt is, And the Man says that he is man who will probably be in the 2050 edition, "I WAS GONNA HAVE A BUFFALO WITH WATERWINGS UNTIL MR. KENNEDY KISSED ME ON THE BALLS!"......."Huh?", "He means, he was going to be in the 2006 edition, but he was sued for calling the thimble a harmful word we should NEVER say." "*whispers* It's not MY fault! How was I supposed to know that the N word was a BAD word!", "*whispers* Well you are a extremely big racist to the core", "*whispers* to whites no!, to asians no!, To Mexicans no!, To every other race NO!", "*whispers* Shut up Senor Bankrupt", "YOU WANT CHEESE WITH THAT WINE?!", Norris doesn't get what Senor Bankrupt is saying and the Monopoly Man explains about his tourettes and ADHD which causes him to act crazy, Chester then tells the Monopoly Man to shut up about the damn "ticks" and to get his lemonade, Senor Bankrupt tells him "get it yourself r-tard!", "Now now Bankrupt, let's not act like total idiots....although, he is a complete m'fing bastard who deserves to go burn in hell like that god awful film Isiah" "You too?", "Are you kiddin' me? That movie was beautiful!", "GET MY DAMN LEMONADE YOU IDIOTS!", The Man and Bankrupt hesitantly give him his lemonade, Norris, feeling sorry for them decides to visit Mr. Chester, but he just gets slapped by his servants and told that "he was born 15 million dollars of a year too early to be THIS embarassing", Bankrupt tells him to "Fricking leave him alone man! He's a grown ass man!", "Honestly Krupt, Do you want this movie to end up on the way Serenity ended up?" "........No?", "Then shut up and get back to work." "Yes boobs." "What?" "I mean, yes boss...."

Norris doesn't seem to like Chester all that much but then, he sees a thimble and a top hat. "Cool.......More stuff for the factory." "NO! DON'T!" "What?" "...That's Mr. Monopoly's crap! You burn it, You get S.B.A.R!" "S.B.A.R?" "S.B.A.R, Y'know, Sued Beyond All Repair?" "Oh yeah.", But then, Norris hears a TOOT, TOOT and a NEIGH, He sees a man riding a horse and a man driving a boat "evening sirs"..........and then.......VVVVVVVVRRRRRRRROOOOOMMMMMMMMMM, "HOLY CRAP!" A car drives by them, causing Sr. Bankrupt to get pissed off and say "HEY YOU (Gobble! Gobble!) OL' (Tweet! Tweet!), WHY DON'T YOU GET THE (Slag, Slag!) OFF MY DAMN PROPERTY YOU (Arooooooooooooooooooooooooo)", But then.....oh crap, here comes Mr. Asshole Chester, but not only does he tells off the car driver and he almost kills Norris and Bankrupt, that's when the Man comes in to save the day, bringing his dog out to what else?.........Burn him with a apple toffee?..........well this is embarassing, Wait, I read it wrong, It said, By sicking em, My bad!

Chester, sick and tired of his ass challenges his friend Norris to a match of Monopoly and that gets Sr. Bankrupt pissed as he screams out "YOU (Aaaaaloooo!) SON OF A (Shlook! Shlook!) WE ACCEPT YOUR CHALLENGE!", Norris confused and with no clue what to do, takes the challenge.......on one condition that he'd be freed from this dream. "Fine....but if I win, your ass is mine forever."

*Gulp*

*The Battle*

Norris and Chester play an intresting surprising game, surprising because although Norris has won 101 games.........none loss, his confedience has really been shaken up, as a result, he plays terribly. It gets so bad, He's almost bankrupt, it seems that there's no hope left for him, until somehow, Norris's best friend comes in, and reminds him to at least remember the damn alamo!

This helps Norris regain his confidence and thus........"C'mon Chester...let's play Monopoly..........bitch."

From there on in, Norris makes a miraculous comeback and sends off Chester away for good! Thus letting him free!

"Hey yo man, If you thought this movie was terrible, Wait till you see the damn sequal, You'll face his skank of a wife!"

Norris calls that "poor skank of a wife" a helpless poor woman who hasn't got any friends. "No, I mean it. She's a total skank."

They all share a hearty laugh and wave goodbye to Norris except for Chester......cause he's a asshole.

*THE END*

Norris wakes up the next day and sees his best friend, Norris's friend asks him if that he wants a rematch. "......No, And if you don't mind, I'd rather NOT play Monopoly for a while"

And so Norris gave up Monopoly.......for about a week of course, the Old Man has since moved out, And Chester is now bankrupt and without a house or a hotel.

*THE FINISHING SCENE*

"*sobs* I've lost EVERYTHING!", "Well, that's a good thing yes! Cause AH told ya to keep yo (Yook! Yook!) to gimme your taxes for the last few years!"

"Chester, I've waited 50 long years to say this....but GET THE (Flute music!) OUT OF THIS PLACE YOU (Spongebob Squarepants laugh)!!!", "Yo Tony! I thought you didn't like the N word no more!" "He deserves it. He's a total jackass."

THE END!............OR IS IT?

Monopoly

I have the review ready but there's something you need to solve first:

Your talent costs 14,200,000 so you only have 9,251,700(added the money you get from event) for the production and marketing. You need to adjust that.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

One Last Trip

Hmm, interesting concept, I guess no one can claim similiarity upon it so you don't need to pay anything. However, it would be awesome if you can link me to those stories as reference on the judging phase.

Luke Mitchell(0.80 SP)

- He really would like 2 roles if possible. He could lower to 450,000 to score the 2 roles.

- If you insist on 1 role though, he would like 630,000 + 1 future support role within next 5 movies.

James Frecheville(0.70 SP)

- You sold him on the speech, deal.

Xavier Samuel(1.00 SP)

- Hmm...okay I guess, deal.

Bella Heathcote(0.75 SP)

- Deal.

Nick Cassavettes(2.05 SP)

- That's sounds okay, deal.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

@Dakydaky

I forgot if you have movie ready on 1.0 or not. But if you don't have, you might as well start the negotiation phase while you are writing, might speed things up.

Sure, just register with the form on the first post.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Trend Change

- With Christmas in the corner, family film, especially with Christmas theme, is HUGE.

- Romance remains trendy but people are wanting rom-com now more than ever because most people prefer happy stories at this time of the day.

- Sports film is in the trend because of recent exposure(Read below)

- It's freaking Christmas and this period is also the award baiting time, drama stays relevant here as drama is more or less the most common genre for an award bait.

- Thriller is still in the trend thanks to some strong thriller books being released and people are expecting some movies to take advantage of this trend.

Note: I am looking for a name for the award, if you can think of a cool name, please let me know.

I also added sub-genre. Some sub-genre will grant you even more bonus. Say a genre is +++, add in the sub-genre + and it will be "++++". Add in season bonus(which I added now too), then it will be "+++++". However, do note that a bad movie will backfired. A bad movie trying to cash in on the trend will be punished for its failure. This is to prevent powergaming the system by doing movie with the most "+".

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Event: Wrestling vs MMA

Jacob Jones(owner of RKO Productions) and Astyn Hohepa(owner of MaoriBoyFella Vision) are two trending names on the internet. Apparently, the neverending conflict between wrestling and MMA fans has include Generations and The Saints into their recent discussion. As expected from the diehard fanboys of both side, they are throwing praise and insult toward each of the films. The MMA fans are mainly attacking the comedic side of Generations, saying it's much like PG-era WWE, it's for two years old toddlers and a joke while the wrestling fans are saying that The Saints is just ridiculously fake and impossible, someone has lung disease and win the big fight? Ha, even wrestling has more logic than that and it's just a freaking Rocky-ish thing which is so outdated.

While it seems negative, the trend did earn RKO Productions and MaoriBoyFella Vision an extra $1,500,000 in DVD sales. WWE and UFC decided to do something good with this and they are looking to sponsor some films. The next 2 movies that are of sport genre and revolves around wrestling or MMA will have an extra $3,000,000 to work with and also extra advertising from WWE or UFC. Basically, they will talk about the movie on their show like it's one of their sponsors.

Note: RKO Productions and MaoriBoyFella Vision can take the sponsor as well but they will have to wait for 5 days(December 6 is the first day they can take this offer) before they can talk with WWE or UFC. This is to give other studios a chance to do a wrestling/MMA-based film.

So I crafted this for the pre-production part. Is it possible to fill in the details about the budgets for production and marketing later on, since I have no idea what the talent are going to ask in the terms of money? Of course I'd like to have those as high as possible, but it depends so much on the price tags of the talent. Also, just let me know if it should be rated NC-17 instead, since I'm not perfectly certain on such a movie passing as Restricted. <img alt=":)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

Title: The Essence

Rating: I’m guessing it would be rated R for crude violence, pervasive strong language, and use and distribution of illegal narcotics.

Plot summary: A drug dealer goes temporarily insane after he is robbed off his riches.

Genre: Drama

Director: Ridley Scott

Kool (Zach Galifianiakis) – Lead Actor

Kool is an experienced drug pusher, who hasn’t done much else in his life other than selling drugs. He takes his job extremely serious and several decades worth of drug usage has left him paranoid and slightly mentally slanted in other ways as well. He ends up manslaughtering Snide in the end of the movie.

Foxy (Alison Lohman) – Lead Actress

Foxy is the kid sister of Kool and somewhat of a failure in life. She is a hard drug addict who needs money to feed her habit, but can’t get a stable job. In fact, she isn’t particularly interested in working a legit job just like her big brother. She has a tendency of riding on other peoples’ fame and fortune. She plans the robbery of her own big brother.

Snide (Chris Messina) – Support Actor

Snide is Kool’s right hand man and has known him for more than five years. He’s among the few persons Kool trusts. In terms of personality, he’s brutally honest and slightly aggravating at times, though he means well.

Rosie (Rashida Jones) – Support Actress

Rosie is a good friend of Foxy’s and pretty clean compared to her friend. She is level-headed and ambitious, only occasionally using drugs and drinking. She often tries to rationalize with Foxy, who tends not to listen to her. Rosie has a habit of flowing with the wrong crowd that often gets her into trouble, rather than her actively making some happen on her own. She assists with the robbery of Kool and is also involved in the planning.

Chill (Method Man) – Support Actor

Chill is a stoner for life who often hangs out in Kool’s apartment and is a childhood friend of Snide. He is extremely laid back and jolly. Chill doesn’t have Kool’s full support due to being relatively new and due to his previous record of robbing people of their possessions. Since he is fully endorsed by Snide though, Kool doesn’t have any objections to him constantly hanging out in his apartment.

Mr. Vechio (Nigel Gibbs) – Support Actor

Mr. Vechio is a family man who is hired by Foxy to assist with the robbery. He isn’t perfectly comfortable with the ethical aspect, but complies due to financial struggles. He is a family friend of Rosemary’s (Rosie).

Now I'll just wait for the wage demands to roll in!

O_o.........Dude I hope your making a good decision giving a movie of this akwardly nuts of a plot an R........Cause THAT is the best idea for a movie I have ever seen in my life! SOMEONE MAKE THIS MOVIE!

Thanks man. It's actually 90% to 95% based on a dream I had. I thought it'd make a good movie :p No way of getting a lower than R rating I'm afraid due to the nature of the film, just have to hope mister Goliath doesn't up it into a NC-17 or I'm making a loss with the movie!

Monopoly

Review by: Mr.G

Alright, it's time to review Monopoly. No, this ain't the board game, this is a movie based on the board game. Yes, it seems that many would like to adapt board games into movies but they really need to think outside the box for it to work. In Monopoly's case, it's bad...heck, I am not sure if this is only "bad". Let's talk about the story, the story is about a man that is very good in Monopoly, fell into the world of Monopoly in his dream and have a battle against Chester, who apparently is the villain of this film.

Alright, let's start with settings. The Monopoly world is lifeless, there's nothing special about it and even if there's something special, the movie makes zero effort in showing them. The movie instead choose to focus on the god awful and non-related dialogues that has NOTHING to do with Monopoly or whatever. Heck, even Scary Movie's dialogues make more sense than what is said here. It's like a crosstalk or double act between (unfunny) comedians getting shoved into a Monopoly movie.

Heck, the movie isn't even creative. Let's take a lot at another board game adaptation that goes by the name of Battleship. Battleship is just your average big budget action movie but it has potential to be a good one if they can work out a better script. How so? Because it is creative and outside the box in a way. It doesn't just show the characters playing Battleship with each other, it transforms into an action movie that focus on naval combat. It has a little bit of Battleship board game tribute going on in the middle of the movie but it takes the board game concept and put the inspiration into something. Don't get me wrong, I am fine if a movie want to be a story about people playing the board game but when I am thrown into this so-called "Monopoly world", I don't want to see them play Monopoly inside it. Why are they even playing a game of Monopoly *inside* the world of Monopoly? They should be battling to buy property in the world and see who's the real tycoon in the world.

The story has a serious lack of flow, the primary characters all seem to have zero purpose throughout the film. The challenge is called out without much of a reason, heck, I am not even sure what in the world is the movie about actually. I see people play Monopoly, I get that Norris wants to escape from the dream...or something like that but the overall structure of the story is as confusing as it can be.

For a movie that is supposed to be family-friendly by premise as Monopoly is a family game, the studio is daring enough to put a lot of bad words that make no sense into the movie. Just horrible, horrible decision. They accomplish nothing except perhaps pissing the moviegoers off. Oh, did I mention that this movie has no female character? It's not like I am a feminist or anything but a sausage-fest doesn't necessarily help here. A female character might help divert some attention away from the actual quality of the film, just something to think about.

Now, characters. It's obviously that Jack Black and Jim Carrey is not even trying here. Their performance sucked big time in this one, just extremely not funny for their standard. I am not sure if I would blame them though because it's clear that the dialogue just don't work at all. Also, the Norris character's background information is horrible. The script has it that Norris is a board game champion because...he beats his friends? How about show him winning some tournament? Randy Orton doesn't become WWE Champion by RKO and pinning his friends and family in his living room; he is champion because he wins in the ring in a title match.

The side cast though, did tried their best. I am not sure if they are looking to upstage the lead cast or they are just trying to see if they can shine in a bad film to make their acting feel much more superior but yes, they did well enough for whatever their characters have to offer so props to their effort. Oliver Stone, wow, what to say, he's just a freaking bad choice for this kind of film. He's more or less an elite when it comes to realistic films that touch on controversial and very serious subjects and this is as far from his range as it could be.

Overall, a horrible effort that will see itself on the same list with other horrible game adaptations like Double Dragon and Super Mario Bros. down the future. I give it a 0.50 star.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Misc. Information

- Actually, what's the name of the movie? "Monopoly" or "Come on! Let's play Monopoly!"?

- For people that don't get why this is getting 24M revenue despite the low score, franchise has drawing power on its own. The fee they charge is to balance things out in a way but if this is not a franchise film it would be much lower on total revenue. For more information, refers to "What the frak is that "profit adjustment" about?" in the second post.

- It's a good idea that you decided to cut the budget on P & M. When you are not confident about your project, never throw your entire budget on it; heck, even if you are very confident, all-in is still a risky decision so always think it over.

- The budget is too little to create an Avatar-ish world, it's going to be absolutely horrible in quality so you might as well not do 3D animation when you don't have the money to do so.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Total Revenue: 24,716,200

65% Franchise: 16,065,530

----------------------------

Gross Revenue: 8,650,670

Budget: 19,756,000

----------------------------

Gross Loss: -11,105,330

Bonus: N/A for film on a loss

----------------------------

Net Loss: -11,105,330

RKO Productions' budget = $23,451,700 - $11,105,330 = $12,346,400(rounded to nearest 100)

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Impact

- Jack Black takes a massive 0.50 SP drop and if you think that's bad enough, take a look at Jim Carrey's SP, he takes a nuclear bomb that consists of 0.75 negative star points and his long-time reputation isn't going to save him if he takes one or two more bad movies like this in near future.

- Nathan Fillion and Chris Pratt play their role well but associating with a bad film never helps you. Their SP are dropped by 0.15 SP.

- Hector Elizondo should be thankful that his role is so minimal that no one really realize and remember he is in this one. So, he's safe from the penalty.

- Michael Caine is the only one to get a little rise of 0.05 SP - hey, at least it's not negative - as he is the only one to play his role above everyone in this film. Good job Michael Caine, not even Monopoly can stop your advance up the ladder of Hollywood.

- Oliver Stone takes a 0.50 SP from his horrible directing job.

The Essence

Zach Galifianiakis(2.40 SP)

- He is very interested in the role and he sees it as a chance to get out of his fate of being typecasted in comedy forever. With that said, he would like 2,160,000.

- Alternatively, he would take 1,600,000 if you can give him another second lead(or better) role in your next 5 movies.

Alison Lohman(1.45 SP)

- She would like 1,450,000.

- She also request that she gets another main lead role if she performs well in this one(which you will know by my review) and the movie is 3 stars or above.

Chris Messina(1.70 SP)

- He would take 1,105,000.

- Your negotiation team mentions that he doesn't seem so keen on the project after scanning the cast list, it's like he doesn't like some of the casting here.

Rashida Jones(1.20 SP)

- She would take 600,000.

- Alternatively, she would do this for 400,000 if you can give her another support(or better) role in your next 6 movies.

Method Man(1.35 SP)

- He would like 810,000.

Nigel Gibbs(1.00 SP)

- He would take 450,000 and run with it.

Ridley Scott(4.20 SP)

- He's pretty confident in his ability with this kind of project so he would go for 4,200,000 + 20% of the film's profit.

- You can always offer him an alternative.

Note: You should consider lowering some of their price. Or you can ask them to take some of their money post-release, which free up some of your budgets for P & M and then you can repay them after you get the profit from it.

As for the rating, it's really up to you, I can see it being R and it being NC-17 at this moment. It's more or less how much violence you want to put in graphically although the theme is kinda grey I guess. But I won't force it upon you. However, do note that correct rating will help the performance of the film.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

@Russelrules44

You should have dropped the movie if you don't think it will be good, especially you are on the verge of needing to pay your debt. After your next movie, you will need to pay back your debt of about 3.58M so you can't fail the next one.

Also, I haven't transact the 10% post-release of Generations to EddieFnG. Personally, I'd suggest you to ask him whether it can be hold until your next movie is out because you really need everything you have right now.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Animation: Genre Change

I have decided that animation shouldn't be a genre so I have changed the movie archive a little bit here. I substituted "animation" with "family". The reason I don't think animation is a genre is because I think it's more or less a "way of delivery": live action is a way or method, so is animation. Another reason is because I think family genre should be here to represents the film that are made family-friendly. Initially, I don't consider family as a genre but I can see what it represents now and I am adding it into this game's "official genre list".

Are you trying to be random or are you really as clueless as this makes you look? A big budget NC-17 animated flick that steals the title of a Hitchcock classic? All this is likely to do is kill your studio. A picture like this at best would be a shoestring budget and would largely use either unknown or disgraced talent. The only person you've suggested who'd fit is Lindsay Lohan and as a animation fanatic I couldn't begin to think of an appropriate director. This isn't TV where stuff like Family Guy and Harvey Birdman can get on the air and have long runs. This is the cinema where adult themed animation has had a real uphill battle.

And this kind of plotline is going to face a particularly rough go of it as an animated feature. In the cartoons people are familiar with, it's not at all unusual for characters to get hit by a meteor, jump up and go along like nothing much happened and keep spouting one-liners. Ditto with most of the ways your Mr. Adam could kill his unfortunate victims. Deaths that would be horrific and frightening portrayed in a live action movie would be expected to be treated as mere flesh wounds by a good chunk of the audience due to the fact it's animation. There's more respect for the art form now than there used to be. But this would still be a stereotype not easily shaken by a lot of people.

And on the Adam's Mom front, I'd be looking more a Fran Drescher than a Betty White. Betty hasn't been able to pass for 50something since she was Rose Nyland on the Golden Girls and that's somewhere around 25 years ago. Drescher's the right age bracket and very distinctive in voice with her nasal New York accent.

I'm going to withdraw The Essence since with those prices I'm already a million over budget. Considering a movie like that is barely even going to make any money, can't really go for post-production pay on the talent either. My studio would be dead before it even rose from the ground!

Are we talking investor and/or writer partner? I'm actually interested either way. After an outer investment and some pinching from the talent costs the movie could see the light of day. Just need to persuade some of those buggers to decrease their demands and maybe move some of the costs to post-production, so some capital can go into the merchandising part of the project which is essential. Maybe we can discuss this over in PM so the thread is kept on track? Send me a message about what you think Ayden <img alt=":)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

But I don't know how to ask this and not be blunt.
