What's going on in your game?

Recommended Posts

There's a thread for this in the TEW section so I figured I'd make one here.

I'm currently playing as Matthew Keith and I'm the reigning PSW Champion with a record of 48-3. As far as storylines go I have 12 successes, 0 failures, and 1 neutral.

Best match so far has been 4 stars vs Texas Pete and Wolf Hawkins</p><p> </p><p>

Ranked #31 in the Power 500 with a 38-7 record.</p>

<p>I am doing rookie to legend with my created character, Blading Jimmy.</p><p> </p><p>

He started out as Brawler, Monster. He's supposed to be a hardcore hobo type of guy that will blade for food. So far I've won 8 matches, lost 7. He has terrible speed and ground stats, and mediocre grappling. He's decently strong and has decent strikes.</p><p> </p><p>

My main finisher is Double Arm DDT, but also use Death Grip, and Punt kick.</p><p> </p><p>

I've lost all my storylines <img alt=":(" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/frown.png.e6b571745a30fe6a6f2e918994141a47.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />. I'm still unsigned indy talent.</p><p> </p><p>

I used Uppercut Bailey for my picture because it has what appears to be cuts in the forehead.</p>

<p>Playing on my RtL mode as a lightweight technician (Original, I know) who loves holds and wear guys down.</p><p> </p><p>

My first storyline (tagging) was a massive failure as I was a glorified jobber through all those matches.</p><p> </p><p>

Now just finished the ''One wild month'' storyline and went 4-0!</p><p> </p><p>

The first three matches where about alright, nothing special... Until the final and fourth match of the storyline. Where I have to face generated Big Heavy Eloy Savard in a first blood match. 0_0</p><p> </p><p>

I started the match out very strong, using holdspam to wear the guy down and keep his momentum dead in the water all the while slowly pecking up my momentum.</p><p> </p><p>

So I hit my first ''The Blackout'' (Twisting Facecrusher) and much to my chagrin, nothing doing.</p><p> </p><p>

During the entire match I hit Savard with chairs to the head, hit normal facecrushers, on the outside and also on chairs themselves. I also hit a top rope facecrusher onto a chair... But nothing do it...</p><p> </p><p>

So 39:13 minutes later, I finally managed to hit the bastard with a chairshot and FINALLY he starts to bleed.</p><p> </p><p>

A 39 minute epic in my 8th match of my career, and of course it was a boring 2* match because watching one guy lock cravates and hit facecrushers isn't all that exciting...</p><p> </p><p>

But damn, that was one epic match <img alt=":)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p>

The USA scene is tough to break in <img alt=":(" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/frown.png.e6b571745a30fe6a6f2e918994141a47.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p>

Tyler "Big Cat" Collins is still trying to make his name on the Australian indy scene. He's winning more then he's losing at the moment but he's had some heartbreaking losses that I found rant worthy on another thread. He's a heavyweight regular wrestler who's a cousin of Brandon James, hence the Big Cat moniker.

I've also created a women's wrestler named Kiora Donavon. She's a psychopath who'll be debuting soon in the US indies. She's a big violent woman who beats the crap out of people, the adopted daughter on an Irish wrestler who was a big violent man who beat the crap out of people. :D

I also ran a tournament for wrestlers from US and Canada which was won by Sean McFly. I also ran a tag team tournament which was won by Jack Bruce and Christian Faith.

<p>Started a RtL. My character is Corporal Punishment, a Sports Entertainer teamed with Sgt. Bubba Lee West in a tag team called The Unit.</p><p> </p><p>

First go round of the independent tag team storyline was a failure, as I dropped two matches. El Mitico murdered us in one match, taking us down in 6 minutes without ever having to tag in his partner. But in month two, we improved to lose only one match.</p><p> </p><p>

Very excited about Month Three, as I think we may get it this time. I'm feeling much more comfortable with the game, and while the Sarge drives me nuts in TEW, this guy makes for a phenomenal tag partner! </p><p> </p><p>

I highly advise anyone looking to start a RtL to start with a tag storyline and find the best partner you can. It is a great way to build up your stats before you go solo, and while I lean heavily on the Sarge to win my matches, I did once hold my own with Austin Smooth for 10 minutes. I took a lot of punishment, but I dished out enough that the Sarge was able to get the easy pin once I decided I'd had enough and tagged out.</p>

<p>I recently created a character named Jonny Koskinen, who's a heavyweight wrestler from Canada with a puro style. He forms a tag team with Cal Sanders known as the Canadian Violence Connection. Sadly, as I've mentioned in another thread, the violence is usually inflicted upon them and I've yet to succeed in either of the tag team storylines I attempted.</p><p> </p><p>

He's done much better in singles competition however, all the Working the independent scene storylines have been successes or neutral results. He got obliterated in the open challenge storyline, sadly, and only won one match in the storyline against Biff the Bruiser (who's quickly becoming Jonny's prime nemesis.) However he succeeded at the Gut Check storyline and is now a Local Talent.</p>

<p>I'm in November of my first year with my character Brian Storm. A boring name for a boring man. He's a light heavyweight technician who doesn't really have any gimmick, and mostly portrays a heel. He'll happily choke someone out or use the ropes to help hit a move.</p><p> </p><p>

Anyway, I've formed a team with Remmy Honeyman, originally just going by "Storm & Honeyman", but we have since renamed ourselves 'No Gimmicks Needed'. We're on an eleven match winning streak, and about to start the "Rising Up The Ranks" storyline, so if we are successful, we will raise in popularity too. I'm quite happy tagging at the moment, especially since Remmy is actually quite good. He's won the majority of our matches, including a win over Penfold Perdition and a Generated Wrestler that lasted a whole three minutes and twenty-six seconds - I didn't even get in the ring! I have the AI control Remmy, by the way, just seems more realistic to me.</p>

First four star match. Champagne Lover (heel and user avatar) vs. Pablo Rodriguez for the title in a steel cage. Multiple near escapes by both parties and Pablo took so many Lucha Spinning DDT's and Lucha Piledrivers before he would stay down long enough for Champagne Lover to escape the cage I thought his head was going to come clean off.

OMG! So I decided to buy the game, I have a character made after my e-fed character the "Amazing One" Maize, and in only my sixth match, I got a 5 star match of the year candidate match in a 2 outta 3 falls match against St. Bubba Lee West in the indies wild month storyline.

It was Amazing, he pinned me first, but my whole strategy as a shoot wrestler is break down the arms so I can hit my opponents with the Amazing Grace (an arm submission), and so by the time he beat me the first fall, his arms were yellow, and I went to work some more and hit him with the Amazing Grace and got that fall. And then we went back and forth until I got him to the ground with a reversal and hit him with the Amazing Grace once more!

I'm glad I bought this game, its challenging, and its worth learning.

I get to Danger level before I have this guy at, say, medium. I'm trying to keep him from tagging out (successful numerous times) and I'm trying to Blindside High Knee (yes, Dropkick to Outside works better, I know) him out of the ring.

So I can dive at him.

And miss.

A lot.

Point is, so long as I enter/exit the ring, he can't win. And I will if I hit my finisher just as/after it's late in the count (as I did the match before).

Except we come back in. See above about my tagging luck.

I eventually get him down to Low and hit the Ringside Steps Senton (as it is commanded every time I have a guy outside at Low). Tag out for MY COMPLETELY FRESH PARTNER.

Who also has to keep the guy from tagging out.

I think I drop to medium before...I think Legdrop Bulldog on the outside. Roll in, pin. No degradation due to rolling him in (yay!) and I win.

TWO ****ING STARS. COME ON GAME!

<strong>GAIS.</strong></p><p> </p><p>

srsly.</p><p> </p><p>

Should I go with the three first blood matches or three tables matches storyline? <em>Both seem like so much funnnnnnnnn!</em></p><p> </p><p>

Also I need to figure out how to do the ring apron elbow through a table. Because apparently I can.</p>

<p>So who are the next chumps I gotta...</p><p> </p><p>

MERCUTIO SLEEP AND EL MITICO JR?!!</p><p> </p><p>

...</p><p> </p><p>

Oh, it's 2AM. I need to get up in the morning.</p><p> </p><p>

<span style="color:#FFFFFF;">/legitimateExcuse</span></p><p> </p><p>

P.S. Crash Lewis is all, "Dewd, you gotta go through me blah blah blah." I'm all, "I've pwnd you in tag matches forever, but w/e."</p><p> </p><p>

Second match I get the secondary goal to make him bleed. <em>I</em> take that as a sign to get him disqualified due to blood loss. Which I succeed in doing.</p><p> </p><p>

Fourth match, the gimmick match?</p><p> </p><p>

<strong><em>FIRST. BLOOD.</em></strong></p><p> </p><p>

I <em>think</em> I Brass Knucked him for it. I know I did that once...</p><p> </p><p>

P.P.S. Puroresu, the middle one, I think Powerful? It's a good big-man build. Max Grappling and Ground, solid Striking (I think it's not maxed...) Grappling and Striking start at 600, ground at 300. As a Big Heavy I have 1k max strength; I started with 450. And hell, I'm not <em>terribly</em> slow so far!</p><p> </p><p>

My Very Small save kinda sucks; can't remember what I chose atm, but low starting athleticism <em>suuuuuuuuucks.</em> As for my grappler (who I <em>think</em> was default guy)? Grap the Grippler is a solid ground worker with a nice all-round set of skills. At least, unless I got him mixed up with a save I nuked for going up too quickly...</p><p> </p><p>

P.P.P.S. I believe my Puro guy in the USA <em>could</em> jump in rank now and not get schooled ridiculously easily; I already did the open challenge and won against some kinda-tough-ish guys (they were popular!), MMA strikes on the ground are <em>ridiculously good,</em> and so long as I get a new team ASAP (preferably with a faster-type partner), I'll be fine. Btw, playing a Big Heavyweight <em>who can't brace against 1/3 of the opposition</em> is hilarious. As is getting caught in a submission first move of the match meaning no bracing.</p><p> </p><p>

TOO BAD I HAVE MOUNTED MMA STRIKES FUFUFUFUUFUFUFUFUFUUu</p>

My high-flyer just got 500 athleticism which opens up a ton of moves. I'm in the tag team storyline where it's a tag match, two singles, then a gimmick tag.

Weeeeell, Zak Attack interfered in the second match, so I'm sad. Third match? Morgan Malone LEGDROP BULLDOGED MY ...bulldogged? MY OPPONENT. Yeah.

Oh, wait, what was that secondary? Make their body red. So Choke Hold doesn't help. The ref getting taken out...three times? does, however, as Chair Shot From Above does a ton of damage.

When it hits.

36+ minutes later it's me with red head and orange body against...Ah, Zak Attack (Clutch McKane was the other guy). Nobody has any stamina, we're both at 0%. I've dropkicked him in the back a ton (relatively accurate medium move; should have stuck with that ages ago). Hit a Double Arm DDT and I win.

A match that should have been, y'know, 12 minutes at best.

At least I got 4* and the 250 point bonus. And no perma-damage! :D:D

Edit: **** it's a Submission match?! And a pre-match interview? AWESOME!

Edit Edit: FLAWLESS interview. Started off Sinister and won. 35% bonus? Time to play at the 700+ club. Boom boom boom, warrior spirit point for the duo baby.
