"Still...that couch inspired me...I could use some inspiration now."

 

It had been a crazy year...It had started with LOSER. Then, there was the Hawaiian screwjob...second episode of our TV show, I had booked Clark Alexande to get screwed out of the title in his home state. Problem was, Pee-Wee had panicked over the company's product...without telling me, he made the product more conversative, a basic copy of CZCW. So, the Hawaiian fans were expecting a technical showing, instead they got our....my comedy based sports entertainment.

 

I confronted Pee-Wee backstage. To my surprise he fired me on the spot. Turns out, it was Daddy's money he was spending...and Daddy wasn't a fan of LOSER....

 

"You should be inspired...after the court settlement, you got some serious dough."

 

"Don't remind me..."

I had sued for wrongful dismissal, with the case dragging on all spring. Pee-Wee had the most expensive lawyers money could buy, a smear campaign and that asshat Travis Slicke testifying I was the devil. I asked an upset Tito to testify on my behalf...it was my masterplan and it worked. The jury voted in my favor.

 

The summer was spent thrashing out a settlement...and becoming a father.

 

Marcus Michael Devine was born Friday Week 1 June 2015. Easily the best thing that ever happened to me. Apart from the lack of sleep, dirty nappies, erratic feeding times, being urinated on...it was amazing.

"You never told me what the settlement was?"

 

"I'm not allowed to, but it was enough to get me into this mess..."

 

After my dismissal, Pee Wee changed LOSER; under Travis' advice he changed it to NEO (Natural Entertainment Overloaded). Travis changed Development Pro Wrestling to LA Wrestling. Any traces of my booking, my ideas were erased.

 

My pride was hurt...I'd gone from having some promise, to being forgotten overnight. It was like being in the USPW midcard again. Except this time I had a lot more money and freedom. Once I received the settlement (and bought the necessities -a bigger house for the three of us and a jukebox!!!) I...rushed into revenge. I set up my own company - World Championship Wrestling. I had regretted it ever since...

 

"I ain't seen you this unhappy since Valentine and Redwood were squashing you."

 

"I've put myself in 'that' situation again...politics, tv execs, investors...only difference is people job to me sometimes ."

 

"Wish someone would job for me."

 

"You're doing well man."

 

"Still feel directionless though."

Welcome to the big leagues J. At least we could both be unhappy at the same time.

 

J looked me directly in the eye

"You're not happy are you?"

 

"No J...I'm unhappy at work, taking the stress out on Alanis and Marcus and missing Seattle."

 

"So, square one?"

 

"Yeah."

 

"Well, you dealt with your problems last time...remember the list? I mean you've come a long way in three years."

 

"You think I should write another list?"

 

"No...I think you need to deal with your unhappiness. How you do it is up to you."

 

"J?"

 

"Yeah?"

 

"For an ugly masked wrestler, you speak a lot of sense."

 

"I'll ignore that chuckles. Night."

Been distracted by Christmassy things, so sorry for not responding sooner.

Damn you Pee-Wee for ruining Darryl's dream.

 

Never a truer word spoken - one of the reasons LOSER got abandoned was Pee-Wee changing the product settings 'behind my back'. Granted, maybe I should check them more often...

 

In the kindest way, four star censored word LOSER. Devine belongs in Seattle!

 

Agreed - in hindsight, should never have left. Live and learn.

 

Good sir, I have half a mind to sue you for the whiplash you caused me when I did a double take upon seeing the return of EPW!

 

Lucky for you the other half was able to talk me out of it.

If I made you an ARCHITECT TITLE would you return it to THE ARCHITECT because THE ARCHITECT is lord over all realms of ARCHITECTNESS.

 

No Architect I'm afraid, he's under contract to NEO. Never say never though.

 

Ahh Tito always pulls through. Hope you have plans for Austin Smooth!!!

 

I'm going to miss Tito, got me out of a lot of plot holes. No Austin Smooth, not yet anyway.

Since I didn´t read your earlier EPW diary, I don´t have much idea who is where in terms of push (or their current overness levels) so I play safe here and pick champ to retain even though I normally would go with Rahn because of overness difference.

I think this one depends about how badly Datsun is on time decline but while I do like Gumble more, I do rate Datsun higher than Gumble so that´s the way I will be going until proven otherwise.

Darryl Devine comes out to a hero's welcome from the EPW faithful; it's been over a year since he was last in an EPW ring. Grabbing a mic, he addresses the crowd.

 

Devine: "Thank you for the warm welcome...It's great to hear your support.

 

Where was that support when I started LOSER though? Where was that support when I was fired? (crowd begin to boo) That's better, some honesty...I gave up a comfortable job with USPW to bring this miserable city pro wrestling and how do you repay me? By shunning me. By ignoring me. Now-"

 

The crowd erupt as EPW Intercontinental Champion Kirk Jameson walks down the aisle.

 

Jameson: "-sorry, had you finished with the pity parade?"

 

Devine: "Another ingrate. Me setting up this company helped you get noticed, did you ever thank me?"

 

Jameson: "No - because you never did anything. The only people who deserve thanks are these fans...their suppport got me noticed by EPW management and inspired me to become the best wrestler in EPW."

 

Devine: "Nice pandering there, Kirky. Plus, it's a lie too - now I'm back, you're second best."

 

Jameson: "You don't just walk back in and claim to be the best. While you've been wasting time and money, I've defended this title against all comers, been busting my ass every time I step in this ring to prove I'm the best!"

 

Devine: "All comers...except me. How about at Jet City Rumble in March, Devine vs Jameson, EPW Intercontinental Title on the line?"

 

Jameson: "Challenge accepted. Devine? Just remember - the Marksman never misses..." ©

Panda Mask II vs Hugh de Aske

De Aske has two problems - 1) the crowd, taunting him about his pirate heritage and 2) he's fighting a quick, vicious panda. He does well to keep up. but eventually gets pawed to the canvas then drillled with Pandamonium (Senton Splash).

 

Winner - Panda Mask II @ 8:02 (D)

 

We see Freddie Datsun and Genghis Rahn square up to each other in the ring. The roster quickly breaks them up under Alanis' orders.(C-)

It's amazing the difference a year can make - Malloy has shed Carl Batch, started taking his wrestling seriously and gained a new focus. Against the sinister, smiling Svensson, all those qualities are essential - the Swede is a violent, sociopathic maniac... who never stops smiling. Malloy isn't fazed though; biding his time, he counters an attempted Hyper Extension Armlock into the Marvel Breaker (swinging neckbreaker) for 3.

Ahead of tonight's main event, Genghis Rahn has promo time to discuss his title match against Kirk Jameson

An uninspired contest; neither man displays any fire and we get a slow contest that drags on. Eventually, Gumble attempts a DDT, only for Datsun to counter into the Patriot Press for the win.
