Hey folks, I figured this would be something cool for the members of this fine forum. Basically the competition will run from the first to last PPV's of the year. Each PPV will have bonus questions, usually 1 or 2 but sometimes more.

 

Rules:

  • 3 Points for a completely correct prediction (winner and finish).
  • 1 point for predicting the winner but not the finish.
  • Bonus questions will award 2 points unless otherwise stated.

 

  • Simply post predictions in this thread.
  • I will post the predictions template as soon as I can following the airing of the final Smackdown before the PPV for everyone to use.
  • You may predict as soon as the template is posted, up until one hour before the start of the PPV. Any predictions made or posts edited after this time will be rendered void.
  • You may edit your predictions and change your mind as many times as you like, as long as you do so in regards to the rule above.
  • Any amendments to the card during this period will not be counted, and only the card as of the end of Smackdown will count.
  • Pre-show matches will not be included.
  • If you will not be available at the weekend but still wish to participate, you may PM me your predictions (so as to avoid any spoilers for others) and I will post them in the thread on your behalf once Smackdown has aired.
  • There will be a league table, which I will update and post after each PPV.
  • If, going in to the final PPV of the year there are two or more people challenging for top spot, those individuals must PM me their predictions, so as to avoid any arguments or accusations of the leader simply copying the other's predictions.

 

Prediction format: (example)

 

Wrestler 1 vs Wrestler 2

Winner: Wrestler 2

Finish: Pinfall, Submission, DQ, Countout, etc. You only need to say how the match will end, not mention any interference or anything like that.

This should be a fun event for the forums, we finally get to see how good and predictable the WWE really is by putting our skills to the test. :) There are really only two people I can see winning the Rumble and I've gone backwards and forwards on which of them it'll be for the last couple of months. Daniel Bryan and CM Punk... one has a match earlier in the night/isn't officially in the rumble, the other enters from the start. :p Not buying that Batista is gonna win, with only one champion now the winner of this gets to headline and I don't think Batista is hot enough to win at this point. Maybe if he'd been around for a month to better gauge fan reaction to him... but not just now. That said, I'm still having trouble deciding who wins this year. Though only from a couple of potential options... isn't like Jey Uso is going to surprise anyone and win. :p

 


I'm reckoning on The Authority trying (and failing) to assert their influence on the winner of this in the end, leaving the likes of CM Punk, Batista, Daniel Bryan, Sheamus and Kane as the final group of guys. Reckon the Authority would be happy with anyone except Punk/Bryan winning so they'd screw Punk somehow (possibly by distraction) so that Batista can get more eliminations, only for Sheamus to clobber Batista. Then we get some nie history for Daniel Bryan with a previous Wrestlemania opponent and a tag partner... both of whom he overcomes to win the Rumble despite the Authority. Would be a fun, fun result... but even I'm having some difficulties beliving it will happen. Some of these picks may be more with the heart than the brain. :p

<p>I've noticed about 80 percent of the votes for Rumble winner are for Daniel Bryan even though he's not even in the Rumble. Although I personally think these people are going to be very upset when he's not in it let alone doesn't win it. </p><p> </p><p>

My real question is this is sort of a "how predictable is the WWE". Everyone is predicting Daniel Bryan wins the Rumble even though he's not in it. If he does win the Rumble does that make them "predictable" and if it doesn't then really this can't be any real measure how how predictable they are if you predict something, it happens and then its agreed that it wasn't predictable at all...</p>

The way it basically goes is certain smarks will predict every corner of every angle, and when it goes a certain way, because of the way the storyline has gradually led to the moment(win, heel/face turn, etc), they will call it predictable because they've been using process of elimination in their heads on the several ways the angle may turn out. I'd dare say that a sign of WWE doing something unpredictable, is when there's an uproar within the IWC about it(I mostly mean negatively, but positively applies too)</p><p> </p><p> I stopped finding the WWE predictable years ago, and a big hand in that had to do with me stopping reading dirtsheets. Made the product a bit more enjoyable too when you don't have your face plastered into who is 'penciled' to win the title at X event.</p>

I find myself fast forwarding a lot of matches when I'm doing my catching up. But there's still matches I've seen 10 times that I could watch all the way through with no problem because the two guys in it put on something amazing.</p>
