Wrestling spirit 2 vs wrestling spirit 3

Recommended Posts

So I'm just wondering how everyone feels about the difference between the two games? I owned wrespi 1 and have played the demos for the last two and it seems like 2 was an improvement of 1 where as 3 is just completely different from the first two. To me I think they took away to much of the old wrestling spirit game when they made 3. For instance, one of the things I like from both wrespi and TEW is watching the world around me, but the new wrespi kinda makes you feel like you are all alone in the world. No other shows are going on, there is no on else is wrestling on the card with you (technically there is no card because you don't even know what show you are working. Maybe it's just me, but this whole "alone in the world" feel is really what's killing Wrestling Spirit 3 for me. Does anyone else feel this way?

yeah..

In wrestling spirit 2 I would spend hours looking over the promotion rosters to see who had the longest championship reigns. Kinda reminded me of when I was a kid reading PWI and I would look at the top 10 list of every single promotion and wonder If Wendell Cooley was rank #3 in Continental could he beat the #3 Tito Santana in WWF. That was fun. I miss that feature from WS2. I actually bought WS2 again today.

No offense to Adam, he's cool and i love his games (except WS 3 of course as we're speaking), but he did something bad in WS 2 (conversational cards) and then when he takes this out he does something even worse, and that is simply what you said.

I agree.

To me 2 things kills the game. The first one, like you said, is about immersion. You don't feel like playing your wrestling career. It's just about winning 4 matches in a row all the time.

And the second thing is that there is no very good RW mods. The Cornelverse is just not my cup of tea and the times I tried to import my TEW13 database it does not generate movesets...

I haven't much gotten into the career mode yet, as I just purchased WS3 tonight, but I did play the demo. While I like the storyline mode, I do tend to agree that I miss the relationship aspect of WS2. Unfortunately, for whatever reason I can't get WS1 or WS2 to download properly all of a sudden, so I can't go back and compare them. I do remember WS2 had the stupid card games to build relationships, I wasn't a fan of that. WS1 had good backstage stuff.

I honestly see pros and cons to the career modes, maybe as I get more into it I'll see stuff like interviews and stuff, I know Adam said the relationship stuff is out of WS3. I'm certainly going to give the career mode a chance though on WS3 before I write it off completely.
