He's interrupted however as Brian Kendrick and Maryse come out onto the ramp. Kendrick mentions how frustrated it makes him that simply by showing up Rhodes gets a World title shot while the most dominant X-Division champion of all time is forced to defend his title against the rabble. Maryse tells Cody that tonight Kendrick will be watching him from commentary during his match.

Also, Mike Tenay is really going downhill. He's losing his mic skills and announcing abilities. Todd Grisham seems to be available so I'm considering hiring him as a backup. WWE has all the good announcers

Aries notices Prince Devitt trying to buy something from a vending machine and strikes, grabbing him and throwing him headfirst into the machine before giving him a brainbuster onto the ground. Aries tells Devitt to inform AJ that he's looking for him.

Before the upcoming match Samoa Joe makes his entrance and sits down with Mike Tenay and Don West at the commentary desk.

In a match that had some good action but not much in the way of heat, EC3 & Spud defeated Morgan and Hernandez in 7:53 when Ethan Carter III defeated Matt Morgan by submission.

Cody Rhodes is interrupted in his locker room by Maryse who says that she wants to talk to him. She says that Cody's decision to not have her around really made her angry but that she understands how hard it can be to trust someone working for your rival. As she speaks to Cody she notices Kendrick sneaking into the room, he raises his title and attempts to hit Cody in the back of the head but Maryse tackles Cody out of the way. A confused Kendrick yells at her, asking what she's doing. Cody leaves his own locker room to escape the scene.

After the match Cody looks out confused at Maryse who picks up the X-Division championship. He watches her carefully, seemingly expecting a twist when she hands him the title. She turns to leave and blows him a kiss before going backstage. Rhodes seems incredibly confused.

In a match that had excellent in-ring action and a good crowd, Bully Ray defeated Bobby Roode in a Street Fight match in 21:49 by pinfall with a Bully Bomb.

The crowd explodes as "Raging of the Region" begins to play through the arena, signaling the appearance of The Greatest Man that ever lived, the challenger, Austin Aries. He appears at the top of the ramp as pyrotechnics go off around him, wearing his cape he descends to the ring.

The lights cut out as the World Heavyweight Champion makes his presence known. "NO ONE" appears on the video screen and "Evil Ways" plays the Phenomenal One down to the ring.

After Sabin and Shelley have been put down the temporary alliance falls apart and Bad Influence turns on the Wolves, only Bad Influence is left standing as the dust clears. Daniels and Kazarian seem incredibly pleased with themselves.

He says that Bully Ray is just pure trash that shouldn't be allowed in the arena, let alone given a contract and allowed to compete. Kurt says that simply by being allowed in the ring with him that Bully is disrespecting a true wrestler. Kurt then tells Val to get out as he has to go out to the ring.

In a match that had excellent in-ring action and a good crowd, AJ Styles defeated Shelton Benjamin in 15:03 by pinfall with a Styles Clash. AJ Styles makes defence number 8 of his TNA World Heavyweight title.

After the match AJ Styles is grabbing his title from the timekeeper when James Storm runs down to the ring. Storm surprises the champion with a superkick, leaving him sprawled out at ringside. Kendrick charges down the ramp and takes out Storm with a flying clothesline, as he goes to pick up the belt however he's blind sided by Bobby Roode who clocks him with the ring bell. Styles and Storm start to stir as Austin Aries joins in the chaos and hits a brainbuster on Roode. The would be contenders all brawl at ringside until the General Manager's theme hits the arena speakers.

Hogan informs the audience as well as the competitors that he's decided that at Slammiversary XI, all five men involved in the brawl will be taking part in a King of the Mountain Match for the TNA World Heavyweight Championship.

Things are looking grim folks. We still haven't managed to bring our budget up into the black. We're doing slightly better in that we're only losing roughly 100k a month compared to our previous 400k.

That's when I find out its time to re-negotiate contracts. Bobby Roode, Samoa Joe, James Storm and the Pope are all up to be resigned.
