~Before it all comes Crashing down!~

(Yes I am referencing the 2 major plane crashes in 1975)

Thanks to alvarasus for use of his 1983 mod, this isnt a new mod - but a me converting 1983 to 1975.

Start date Jan 1 1975 (Before even the Austin Idol plane crash, So Bobby Shane is alive)

Other Notes

Few legends that are active who are at the end of their careers

Don Leo Jonathan, Go read about him. The man was amazing, at 6'7ish he was able to drop kick Andre in the face.

The Von Steigers (West coast tag legends)

The Fabulous Moolah (this was at the height of her hussle)

Haystacks Calhoun

Gorilla Monsoon

Pat O'Connor

Killer Kowalski

Lou Thesz (bassicly he was doing a extended extended farewell tour)

Thesz almost in his 60's was working several nights a week for one of the toughest territories Amarillo.

Promotion List

CWF

JCP

GCW

WWWF

NWA Hollywood Wrestling (Formerly WWA)

Tri-State (Mid-South Region)

All Japan

New Japan

Central States

NWA Gulf Coast

St Louis Wrestling Club

Amarillo (Southwestern States Enterprises)

All-Star Wrestling (Vancouver)

AWA

Big Bear Promotions

Big Time Wrestling

Since it is a Convert and not starting from scratch from 1983 Mod (yes i ask Alvarasus first), I hope to move quickly.

So far CWF and JCP are done, almost half of the promotions are run able.

Running into some lacking info on Referees, and some announcers. I am seeing alot of random referees, and some random announcers. What i chalk this up to is State Commissions requiring referees to be licensed. Since wrestling veil was still intact and shoot rather than work. States treated it like boxing or MMA today. Wrestlers need licensed promoters need licensed, etc. Trying a few place holder referees.

The Announcers also share a similar reasons. Local TV networks using who ever they had free. Bob Caudle was a weather man when ask to do JCP TV tapings. Trying a few things out to see how it plays out.

Now the Nuts and Bolts. Working off of 1983 2.0, I understand people dont like tons of workers. But I am looking at this like a historical mod, i want people to understand and feel wrestling in 1975. Then see over time how wrestling became what it is today.

You copycat. :p It'll be interesting to see how the two mods differ with only five years between them. Feel free to import anything from my mod, because I'm sure there are plenty of people who I've added who are not in any other mod and I'm not sure if you're planning to create Joint Promotions but I separated them into their respective promotions in my mod and made them an alliance - how it was in real life. I wish you the best of luck with this, as I know how hard it is to find information this far back. xD

Best of luck, as this can be a lot of fun to play and the potential to see if things work out differently than they did in real life from this point in wrestling history. BTW, a little side note for you and Mammoth: haven't had a chance to look at the locations file for the 1970 mod, but World Class (at this time, known as Big Time Wrestling) held Monday night cards at what is today known as the Cowtown Coliseum in Fort Worth. At the time, though, it was known as the North Side Coliseum. These matches were aired on Saturday nights as a 90 minute show (before it was expanded many years later to two hours) called Saturday Night Wrestling (which would soon become Championship Sports) on KTVT 11. While there were a lot of vignettes and promos on the syndicated World Class show that was taped at the Sportatorium in Dallas, I wonder if the Saturday night show from Fort Worth should be classified as the A Show since all the better matches were on the Fort Worth cards.

Great minds think alike. <img alt=":p" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png"> I didn't have the North Side Coliseum though, so thanks for that.</p>

  • 2 weeks later...

sorry for the lack of updates, july is a busy month for myself.

Since I am now mixing Mammoth and alvarasus. I had to contact a few formers wrestlers i know to get some info (it is what happens when you train with a group who owner was on Wrestling At the Chase.)

So I am done with title histories for CWF and JCP. Rosters are done for CWF and JCP (outside a few lower card guys I have to make still). From here WWWF is next. Which you are right in the middle of Bruno Sammartino second title run. Jimmy Valiant & Johnny Valiant are tag team champions. What really shocked me is that WWWF roster is on the smaller side but at this time they were in the NWA and solidly in favor of the territories due to Vince Sr dont rock the boat attitude. I hope to have the WWWF done tonight. Due to fewer title histories.

Few changes you will see to my data than others.

Prolly more titles. This is the Time in the NWA where if Jack and Jerry Brisco show up in say California they could be billed as NWA Atlantic Coast Tag Team Champions, defend the title a hand full of times in a month and they leave and the NWA Atlantic Coast Tag Team Championship will never be seen or heard of again. Several of these temp titles will be In game with history, you just have to by them.

Sizes, 220 and below start Lightweight and smaller

220-235 Middleweights

235 - 250 Light Heavyweights

260-300 + Heavyweights.

etc

I am viewing this a historical database. (depending on how well this goes I will do another around 63-65 area)

I will prolly have 2 copies out a Bigger one that will be harder for some people to play due to its size.

Smaller one. Streamlined You will lose alot of JCP/NWA/WCW low card type database. I love the Power Twins but prolly wont make the cut for this one. I can justify this due to longer carriers in TEW. I play the 1996 database, Tully Blanchard was still active and working in Japan in 2003. So Yea cuts will be made to this one.lol

On the sizes thing, I say go with the help index. A lot of people have set up mods, with guys like Mysterio, Garvin, and Amazing Red as small, while compared to some other guys they are smaller, their weight puts them in the lightweight size. Just my taste really, the adverse is the same, when they make guys bigger then what they should be in game.

Sizes, after watching the WWE network legends show about giants.

It got me thinking. Basically Andre the Giant, Giant Gonzalez, Khali, etc are only true Giants. I mean basically in the History of pro wrestling TRUE Giants there has been maybe 10. I am not kidding, lot of guys where bill as giants, but were like 6'6, in a Historical mod I think it is to easy to skew larger. I basically amazed by Don Leo Jonathan right now. the man was 6'6, but in his prime he was labeled a Giant do to smaller workers of the era. IE Lou Thesz was billed 6'2 225, Prolly ment he was 6' 215.

Super Heavyweights Wide list of King Kong Bundy, Yoko, Uncle Elmer, Big Show (7ft isnt Giant in his time, so i look at the weight)

Big Heavy Taker, Kane, Brody

Heavy - Hogan, Warrior, Cena

Light Heavy - HBK, Bret Hart, Flair, Sting

Middleweight - Tom Prichard, CM Punk

Lightweight - Kofi, Sami Zayn, Kenta, TAKA

Small - Jeff Hardy, Pac,

Very Small - Rey jr, most Mini in Mexico

Now I will handle the women how it says. Here is the reasoning. 1997 WWF/E brings back the light heavyweight title. Flash Flanagan, Devon Storm are in the tourny. Generally they are billed as 230. Which puts them Middleweights. like HBK (normally billed at 225-240). No way even when starting out HBK would he have won a Light Heavy/ Cruiser weight title. Yes he was tag team specialist until the Heel Turn. But still talking to guys in the old Central States Office i have delt with When the Midnight Rockers where there they where smaller than when the get to WWF/E, so in 1986 your looking at 215lbs HBK. Going forward I hope Agers expand to help age a guy by making him bigger, or stat chages like past the age of 35 guy X was no longer a B+ mat worker he was a B or Brawler became a Entertainer.

What i am really doing is making it more like boxing/mma weight classes where they have about 10-25 lbs play room.

Shouldn't HBK and Bret Hart be middleweights starting out? According to the help file, middleweights are 230-260 lbs., and light heavyweights are 260-290 lbs. I know Flair was bigger when he first broke into the business, so light heavyweight might be right for him in this time period. Also, you can put in narratives to have workers get bigger or smaller at certain points in history.

Putting Rey Jr as Very Small would have him in the same class as the minis. Sometimes you have to give and take for gameplay purposes, so I would probably have him Small as his smallest size. And I could be wrong, but I think Jeff Hardy and PAC would be more like lightweights.

These are directly from the TEW Help File:

Giant: Special cases

Super Heavyweight: 380lb +

Big Heavyweight: 320 – 380lbs

Heavyweight: 290 – 320lbs

Light Heavyweight: 260 – 290lbs

Middleweight: 230 – 260lbs

Lightweight: Most male wrestlers under 230lbs, large female wrestlers

Small: Unusually small male wrestlers, female wrestlers

Very Small: Smaller female wrestlers, small male non-wrestlers

By that, Jeff Hardy is a lightweight not a Small Wrestler. I highly recommend going by these weights as that's how TEW reads wrestlers.
