IMPACT Wrestling

Thursday, Week 1, March 2014

Approximately 6,000 fans are in attendance at the Macon Coliseum.

Announce Team: Mike Tenay & Taz

Before the show went live, Gail Kim defeated Velvet Sky in what was said to be a decent match although Velvet Sky was apparently off her game.

We kick off March's first Impact Wrestling with the sound of
as the boss herself makes her way down the ramp accompanied by EC3, Bobby Roode and Rockstar Spud, all scrubbed up in suits of some description. Obviously, Spud rocks the bowtie fabulously. The group enter the ring and it's Dixie that grabs the microphone and starts talking. She cuts a pretty bad promo about MVP and her dissatisfaction at him 'poking his nose in her business'. Thankfully, it's not long before her subject swaggers down the ramp with a microphone of his own to save the segment.

http://i1354.photobucket.com/albums/q685/RynWlsn/TNA/Roster/MVP2_zps062e2aaa.jpg

MVP:
"You know Dixie, I'm already tired of all the talking. Right? [gestures towards the audience who respond with cheers of approval] How about you grab your three finest and I grab my three finest and we settle this score tonight?"

Dixie initially refuses...

http://i1354.photobucket.com/albums/q685/RynWlsn/TNA/Roster/DixieCarter_zps95e6f52e.jpg

Dixie Carter:
"Why should we? I'm still the boss, don't you forget that. I'm not putting my boys in danger for no reason, I don't trust y-"

At this point, MVP interrupts her mid-sentence and raises the stakes.

MVP:
"Winner takes all. If your boys can beat mine, I'll sell my stake in TNA Wrestling and disappear forever. But if my boys beat yours, I'll take control of wrestling operations and you'll go back to Nashville and push papers. What do you say Dixie? Don't you trust your boys? Don't you think you can beat mine?"

Dixie Carter:
"You're on Darlin'"

With the challenge accepted, Roode, EC3 and Spud respond with bewilderment, hardly believing what Dixie has got herself into.

TNA World Tag Team Championship

The Wolves © vs. The BroMans

15 Minute Time Limit ~ Referee: Brian Hebner

Mike Tenay explains to our audience at home that The Wolves recently won these titles at a house show and so The BroMans are cashing in their rematch clause here. This is actually a surprisingly decent match given how limited the challengers are, it's The Wolves that carry this one with their years of experience and great chemistry. The BroMans cut corners and try to cheat their way to victory but The Wolves are too smart to fall for that again. After depositing Robbie E to the outside, a Force Of Nature (Powerbomb & Double Knee Backbreaker) is enough to put Jessie away and the Champions retain.

Winners: The Wolves (9:57)

Rating: 58 (C-)

As Mike Tenay and Taz begin talking about our next match, all of a sudden, the broadcast is interrupted by the
Naturally, the outspoken New Yorker grabs a microphone and begins running his mouth in his signature loud voice that can only be done justice in all caps.

http://i1354.photobucket.com/albums/q685/RynWlsn/TNA/Roster/BullyRay_zpsa324fbf9.jpg

Bully:
"SO AFTER LOSING TO THAT BASTARD ANDERSON, TONIGHT I DON'T EVEN HAVE A MATCH. DIXIE CARTER COULDN'T FIND ME, CALFZILLA, AN OPPONENT. SHE TOLD ME TO SCOUR THE LOCKER ROOM AND SEE IF I COULDN'T FIND SOMEBODY THAT WANTED TO FIGHT ME. NOBODY WANTED A PIECE OF ME. I ASKED SAMOA JOE BUT HE SAID HE WAS ALREADY BUSY. I ASKED KURT ANGLE BUT HE HAD OTHER IDEAS TOO. I EVEN ASKED MANIK BUT APPARENTLY HE'S ON THIS CARD ALREADY! MANIK HAS GOT A MATCH BUT BULLY RAY HASN'T. SO I'M MAKING THIS AN OPEN CHALLENGE. IF ANYBODY IN THE BACK WANTS A CHANCE TO BEAT A LEGEND, GET YOUR ASS OUT HERE RIGHT NOW."

The exciting proposition is met with cheers from the fans in attendance, but there's silence. Nobody answers the challenge as Bully looks increasingly frustrated grasping the ropes and grimacing.

Bully:
"SEE! HOW CAN I P**S THESE FANS OFF BY BEING CHAMPION IF NOBODY'LL FACE ME. OKAY DIXIE CARTER, MVP, WHOEVER, YOU'RE GONNA GIVE ME A TITL-"

All of a sudden, Bully is interrupted by the

http://i1354.photobucket.com/albums/q685/RynWlsn/TNA/Roster/Hernandez_zpsd617888e.jpg

As Hernandez makes his return!

Mike Tenay:
"Supermex is back!"

Taz:
"Ohhhhhh boy! Bully wanted a fight, he's got one now Mike!"

Hernandez stands on the ramp with a microphone in hand and responds to Bully's comments.

Hernandez:
"I've been away for a long time, I had some business to take care of but I'm back for good now. I've had to listen to what you've been saying Bully, you strut around TNA like you own the place and these fans don't have to hear it. Next week, I shut you up for good."

And before Bully Ray can even respond, Hernandez drops the microphone and heads to the back as we head to commercial.

Knux vs. Tigre Uno

15 Minute Time Limit ~ Referee: Brian Hebner

This probably seemed like a routine match for Knux on paper, given his size difference. He dominated the first few minutes of this one but was then completely bamboozled after a headscissors takedown and a quick Hurricanrana. Knux panicked and rushed in as Tigre Uno rolled him up with an Inside Cradle and picked up the surprise 1 - 2 - 3!

Winner: Tigre Uno (4:37)

We head backstage where Jeremy Borash is on hand with a microphone to interview James Storm.

It's not a great promo, but Storm does manage to get his point across. He couldn't forgive Gunner for stealing his Feast or Fired briefcase and he was tired of being the peacemaker, tired of being the good guy all the time. When he was in AMW and Beer Money, 'THE COWBOY' was a dangerous man and now Gunner is gonna see a whole new James Storm that he didn't even know existed. "SORRY! 'BOUT YOUR DAMN LUCK!"

Brooke Tessmacher vs. ODB

15 Minute Time Limit ~ Referee: Brian Hebner

We head straight back to the ring where the fans in attendance were treated to Brooke's wonderful backside and then not much else. These two are not natural opponents and their timing was all over the place, but it was Tessmacher that emerged victorious after the Tess-Shocker (Belly-to-back Facebuster) left ODB needing an ice pack on her face.

Winner: Brooke Tessmacher (5:59)

Rating: 37 (D-)

After picking up a victory, it's Tessmacher's turn to grab a microphone and let her feelings be heard.

http://i1354.photobucket.com/albums/q685/RynWlsn/TNA/Roster/BrookeTessmacher_zps7c1cffc6.jpg

She issued a challenge to Madison Rayne and provided by some bait by saying that although Rayne was the Champion, she's not the one being featured on TV shows and magazine covers. Tess finishes the promo by laying down the law, "I'm the most important Knockout in this company and you're on borrowed time Madison. That title is mine."

We go backstage again where Jeremy Borash is on hand, this time to interview the 'Olympic Gold Medalist' Kurt Angle.

http://i1354.photobucket.com/albums/q685/RynWlsn/TNA/Roster/JeremyBorash_zps52d52c0e.jpghttp://i1354.photobucket.com/albums/q685/RynWlsn/TNA/Roster/KurtAngle_zps17318c84.jpg

JB mostly wants to know Angle's thoughts on the main event where he has to find two partners to face the team of Roode, EC3 and Rockstar Spud. Angle lets JB know that he went into the locker room and asked the boys and there was a sea of hands, so it's not an easy choice deciding. JB tries to press him for a decision but Angle decides not to let his opponents know who they'll be facing before having some choice words for Team Dixie...

Angle:
"Roode! EC3! I don't like your attitudes. I won an Olympic gold medal with a broken frickin' neck and you want to get under my skin?! Of all the people in that locker room, you want to pick a fight with me? I'm the most dangerous man on the planet depending on what you think of Samoa Joe. Tonight, I send you three and Dixie away for good. Oh it's real, it's damn real!"

Angle departs and JB sends us back down to Mike Tenay and Taz as we head back to the ring.

Christopher Daniels vs. Manik

15 Minute Time Limit ~ Referee: Earl Hebner

Daniels is escorted to the ring by Kazarian, his partner in crime. The two are in top form strutting to the ring with Martinis in hand, basically oozing charisma. Manik enters through some red and black smoke, which makes for a cool visual. The match though... nothing special. When you put two quick opponents like these against each other, you need them to know what the other's going to do before they do it and unfortunately, these two just aren't in sync. They slow the pace down and the match is saved by a hot finish as Manik escapes an Angels Wings and lays Daniels out with a Tornado DDT. The masked man climbs up top for a 450 splash but Kazarian pulls his leg out, providing the all-valuable assist before a Super Angels Wings brings Daniels the pinfall victory.

Winner: Christopher Daniels (8:17)

We go backstage where a cameraman is following Eric Young.

http://i1354.photobucket.com/albums/q685/RynWlsn/TNA/Roster/EricYoung_zps321fff07.jpg

EY explains to our audience that he's formulating a super top secret plan and demands that they be discrete. He knocks on a door with a name plate on it before obstructing the view so nobody can see whose door it is. He opens the door just enough so he can enter before slamming it on the cameraman. The camera pans across the name plate, reading 'ABYSS'. Both Mike and Taz question what this could mean and what EY's plan could be.

TNA X-Division Championship

'THE GREATEST MAN THAT EVER LIVED' Austin Aries © vs. 'DJ' Zema Ion

15 Minute Time Limit ~ Referee: Earl Hebner

We head straight back down to the ring again where Ion enters before Austin Aries enters to probably the biggest pop of the night so far. Unfortunately, the fans don't really think that DJZ has much of a chance here and thus the near-falls don't garner much of a reaction at all. Ion goes through the motions but the inevitable Aries comeback leaves him on the back foot and the Corner Dropkick is followed by a Brainbuster and then the Last Chancery as Aries scores the submission victory and retains his X-Division title.

Winner: Austin Aries (12:21)

Rating: 57 (C-)

We return from a commercial break just in time for an appearance of the Champion as Magnus makes his way down the ramp with a microphone in hand. Mike Tenay and Taz bicker very briefly arguing that Magnus isn't a deserving Champion, but Taz tells Tenay to be quiet so we can hear what Magnus has to say.

http://i1354.photobucket.com/albums/q685/RynWlsn/TNA/Roster/Magnus_zps69be19b7.jpg

Magnus:
"In three weeks time I'll be defending my TNA World Heavyweight title against Samoa Joe. The only reason I said yes to this is because if I don't defend it within 30 days I'll be stripped and I've already beat every other challenger... AJ Styles. [pauses to soak up the boo's, cheers and jeers from the audience] Sting... Gunner... None of your heroes can stop me, I am the Chosen One, the Franchise Player... th-"

All of a sudden, the
of Samoa Joe plays as Magnus stares up the ramp, the camera pans to show the Number One Contender making his way down...

But Joe is absent from the picture.

Taz:
"Ohhh the Samoan Submission Machine is playing mind games here!"

All of a sudden a ringside cameraman turns just in time to capture Joe hopping over the guard rail as he makes his way into the ring and stands right behind Magnus, breathing down the Champions neck...

http://i1354.photobucket.com/albums/q685/RynWlsn/TNA/Roster/SamoaJoe_zps543aecb8.jpg

Magnus turns around... and Joe starts reigning down on the Champion with a series of right hands! Magnus is sent to the ropes and Joe catches him coming back in a straight stiff kick straight to the side of the face. Magnus bails and makes his way back up the ramp clutching his cheek as Samoa Joe takes his TNA World Heavyweight title, raises it above his head and tells Magnus that it's now his.

Mike Tenay:
"Samoa Joe has made a statement tonight Taz and I don't think he's handing over that title back to Magnus without a fight."

Taz:
"You can't just steal another man's property Mike, Joe's gonna have hell to pay next week."

Elimination Six-Man Tag Match

The Winners Team Takes Control Of Wrestling Operations

Team Dixie (Bobby Roode, Ethan Carter III & Rockstar Spud) vs. Team MVP (Kurt Angle, Eric Young & Gunner)

30 Minute Time Limit ~ Referee: Earl Hebner

Before we get under the way, there's a spot of commotion in Team Dixie's corner as Spud is insisting that he start the match despite Roode and EC3's protests. Eventually they relent and once the bell rings, the little Brit charges right at Gunner! ... who side-steps out the way and hoists a confused Spud up onto his shoulders before connecting with the Hanger 18 (F-5). Spud's face bounces off the canvas as Earl Hebner counts the one, the two and the three and Team MVP strike up their first elimination before the minute mark. Dixie panics on the outside but Roode and EC3 both cut calm figures as they restore order for the boss isolating Eric Young. They start showing their class, with a picture-perfect Side Russian Legsweep by EC3 drawing a round of applause from the boss at ringside.

Taz:
"Despite the early setback I'm really impressed by the guts and determination being shown by Team Dixie here Mike, especially considering this match shouldn't be happening in the first place!"

Mike Tenay:
"If you ask me Taz this is exactly what Dixie Carter deserves!"

EY manages to break free from his opponent's clutches as he makes the hot tag to Gunner and 'MR. INTENSITY' hops in and begins cleaning house! He rains down with clotheslines before a Spear takes EC3 out who seeks salvation on the outside. Gunner hoists Roode up into position for the Gun Rack (Torture Rack) when to nobody's surprise, James Storm comes charging down the ramp! Gunner drops Roode and insists that Storm enter the ring as the 'TENNESSEE COWBOY' gets all the way to the apron and then just stops. Him and Gunner exchange some choice words, but Storm then just backs away and heads back up the ramp as Gunner turns back around... right into an armbar takedown from Roode who locks on a crossface!

Taz:
"Nowhere to go for Gunner right here! Rookie error there Mike, never turn your back on a man like Roode."

Mike Tenay:
"What was James Storm doing down here in the first place? This match is none of his business!"

Taz:
"Wherever Gunner goes you have to believe that 'THE COWBOY' won't be far behind Mike."

Angle tries to intervene and save his partner, but EC3 grips his leg and stops the 'Olympic Gold Medalist' in his tracks. Gunner, still locked in the hold, has absolutely no choice but to tap out as the numbers are evened up at 2 vs. 2! But, before Christy Hemme can even announce the elimination, EY charges into the ring! But then he instantly gets taken down too as Roode locks on another crossface! Fortunately Angle breaks free from EC3 just in time and is able to break the submission up. Order is restored, but of course, EY is now the legal man and Team Dixie put him through his paces once again. He tries to rally and make his second hot tag as Angle grits his teeth, seething at ringside, he wants in but Team Dixie aren't letting that happen. Angle does enter to break up some pinfall attempts but EC3 is quick to remind referee Earl Hebner that Angle needs to be on the outside.

Mike Tenay:
"As much as I hate to admit it, Roode and EC3 are putting on a masterclass here Taz."

Taz:
"I think they would have put EY away a long time ago if it wasn't for Angle breaking up these covers y'know. Eric looks spent."

Roode puts EY out of his misery and connects with the Roode Bomb (Fireman's Carry Neckbreaker) as Angle doesn't even bother breaking up the pinfall and Eric Young is eliminated leaving Team MVP needing a hero. But, at long last, Angle is able to enter the match and boy does he go to town on his two opponents. They both eat clotheslines and suplexes before Roode takes a Belly-To-Belly to the outside and then an Angle Slam and an Ankle Lock leaves EC3 tapping out and now we're tied up at 1 vs. 1 just like that!

Roode re-enters and goes toe-to-toe with Angle, but in a sudden turn of events EC3 hops back in and clatters the 'Olympic Gold Medalist' in the back with a steel chair! He leaves the ring as Roode hits Angle with the Roode Bomb and makes the cover - One... Two...

But then referee Earl Hebner is pulled out the ring! But by who?

http://i1354.photobucket.com/albums/q685/RynWlsn/TNA/Roster/Abyss_zps79d3d668.jpg

Abyss has come to TNA's rescue!

Earl Hebner begins contemplating a disqualification but MVP steps in and starts arguing with the referee as Abyss enters the ring and delivers a devastating chokeslam to Bobby Roode! Angle slowly gets back to a vertical base and pulls down the straps! He locks on the Ankle Lock! Angle grapevines the leg in the middle of the ring and now Hebner slides back in. Roode fights the pain and tries to claw his way to the ropes but seeing no escape, 'The It Factor' taps out!

Winners: Team MVP (18:33)

Rating: 69 (C+)

Dixie Carter is beside herself at ringside and screams at Abyss who departs up the ramp leaving MVP and Angle to bask in the spotlight. The two have their hands raised by Earl Hebner and play to the fans. We sign off for the night with a final note from Tenay and Taz...

Mike Tenay:
"Say hello to the new sheriff in town, MVP!"

Taz:
"Dixie was robbed tonight Mike, there's no way she's just going to disappear."

Mike Tenay:
"She has no choice Taz, she agreed to this!"

Taz:
"Well, we'll see next week I suppose."

Mike Tenay:
"Indeed we will Taz but that's all we have time for this week fans. I'm Mike Tenay, this is Taz, good night everybody!"

TNA X-Division Championship #1 Contendership

Kenny King vs. Tigre Uno

Comments: Knux costs Tigre a PPV title match, King and Aries meet just like IRL.

Eddie Edwards vs. Kazarian

Comments: A tough one to predict, but I'll go with Eddie.

Madison Rayne & Velvet Sky vs. Gail Kim & Lei'D Tapa

Comments: Triple Threat in the making? Brooke vs. Gail vs. Madison sounds good.

Bully Ray vs. 'Supermex' Hernandez

Comments: Hernandez wins to continue the feud.

'The Monster' Abyss vs. Ethan Carter III

Comments: Spud gets a Blackhole Slam in the end anyway... flash pinfall maybe?

Non-Title Match

Magnus vs. Mr. Anderson

Comments: Not today, Anderson. Magnus needs a victory to proove he's not the "paper" champ.

Impact Wrestling Predictions -

TNA X-Division Championship #1 Contendership

Kenny King vs. Tigre Uno

Comments: Close but King might have the edge

Eddie Edwards vs. Kazarian

Comments: Another very close match to predict. No clue who would win but I liked Bad Influence a bit more than the Wolves

Madison Rayne & Velvet Sky vs. Gail Kim & Lei'D Tapa

Comments: I like Madison and Sky. I also like Gail Kim but Lady Asscape did nothing for me.

Bully Ray vs. 'Supermex' Hernandez

Comments: Unless LAX is going to reform I think Bully's got the edge.

'The Monster' Abyss vs. Ethan Carter III

IMPACT Wrestling Preview

Thursday, Week 3, March 2014

It's been a busy week for IMPACT Wrestling away from the squared circle, with numerous Victory Road matches being made official. We of course knew about Magnus vs. Samoa Joe vs. AJ Styles, but Bully Ray vs. Eric Young was made official and it's now confirmed that 'The Cowboy' James Storm will face 'Mr. Intensity' Gunner in a No Holds Barred Street Fight, that one is sure to be wild.

We also now know that Bobby Roode will be one-on-one with Abyss and Kurt Angle will be given the opportunity for some much-needed revenge when he faces the undefeated Ethan Carter III. And talk of the devil, our IMPACT Wrestling main event features all four of those bolded individuals facing off in tag team action! But not before the masked man Manik gets the opportunity of a lifetime when he goes one-on-one with the TNA World Heavyweight Champion, Magnus. M.V.P. has also given Hernandez an opportunity to get his hands on Bully Ray in a tag team match also including bitter rivals Gunner and James Storm.

All this and more on #IMPACTonSPIKE this Thursday night!

Impact Wrestling Predictions

Non-Title Match

'The Greatest Man That Ever Lived' Austin Aries vs. Robbie E

Comments: Aries wins confidently, his title defence is coming.

Velvet Sky vs. Brooke Tessmacher

Comments: Brooke cuts cocky promos, she can not lose to Velvet at the moment.

'The Fallen Angel' Christopher Daniels vs. Davey Richards

Comments: Like Kaz vs. Edwards, hard to predict. I guess Daniels cheats to win, and Wolves retain the titles in a tag match at the PPV.

Bully Ray & James Storm vs. Hernandez & Gunner

Comments: To make things more interesting... Gunner vs. Storm can be a great brawl, Hernandez needs a victory to look nice in the feud.

Non-Title Match

Magnus vs. Manik

Comments: Butchered gimmick has no chance against the champion.

Kurt Angle & Abyss vs. Bobby Roode & Ethan Carter III

Comments: Abyss pinned, Angle kept strong. Roode and Carter have more potential overall, Abyss and Angle are past their prime.
