Sometimes the itch gets you in the most unusual of ways. Sitting in the back show after show with no direction, praying to get a match in order to put food on the table. It ain't an easy way to live. It's caused young folks to drop out of the business and it's caused old folks to become bitter but it's the business.

But one day in April changed everything. JG got the walking papers from DRAGON. Came to me with an idea. The idea sounded good but I had a steady job with AWF. But the idea stuck with me. Kept me awake at night.

 

Two months later, I left AWF to help make JG's dream a reality.

• All four men were fighting for the opportunity to showcase their talents before the show.
  
• Mr Wrestler & Forajido kept the action grounded, getting involved in an intricate technical exchange that ended with Mr Wrestler nearly getting the win via armbar.
  
• J.T. Rush and Scorpion waged aerial warfare, diving over the masked men with a stunning array of flips and dives.
  
• Mr Wrestler tried to put an end to the proceedings by grounding Scorpion but J.T. Rush managed to eek the win with a Feel The Rush on Forajido, getting the three count moments before Mr Wrestler forced Scorpion to tap out to the dreaded Single Leg Crab.
  

 

J.T. Rush defeated Mr Wrestler, Forajido and Scorpion in 9:42 when J.T. Rush defeated Forajido by pinfall with a Feel The Rush.

Airborne (Diego Monterrey & Kai Philo Hart) vs The Grapplers (Adam Cambridge & Thomas Beaumont)

 

• In the first official main show match in Gureisu Pro history, the established team of Airborne went up against the new team of Adam Cambridge & Thomas Beaumont.
  
• Beaumont & Cambridge had some initial teething problems as a team but they quickly gave way to quick and efficient teamwork which seen both men make use of frequent tags to keep Diego Monterrey away from Kai Philo Hart.
  
• Hart got into the ring eventually and went to town on the Englishmen, throwing them around with headscissors and arm drags a plenty.
  
• Cambridge & Beaumont rolled out of the ring to recover, only to be met with the flying form of Diego Monterrey almost falling out of the sky onto them with a beautiful twisting plancha.
  
• The match ended soon after, Cambridge falling victim to Kai’s Entering The Kosmos (Slingblade)
  

 

Airborne defeated Adam Cambridge and Thomas Beaumont in 13:49 when Kai Philo Hart defeated Adam Cambridge by pinfall with the Entering The Kosmos.

Brit Riley vs Erin Ortega

 

• Erin Ortega came out first, brushing off the fans on her way to the ring and carrying herself with an air of arrogance. Brit Riley was the complete opposite, enthusiastically clapping the fans hands and smiling throughout, even going to the commentation station to high five Alexia Dynamite.
  
• Ortega dominated the match, using her experience and liberal amounts of cheating to keep the younger Riley down and not able to build momentum.
  
• Utilising her power advantage, Ortega spent a solid minute slamming Riley to the canvas before cockily putting her foot on her for what Ortega expected to be a three count, only for Riley to get a shoulder up at 2.8.
  
• Enraged, Ortega honed in for the kill. A stiff forearm shouted knocked Riley silly and Ortega added insult to injury by dropping Riley with the Big Apple Slam for the three count. Alexia Dynamite could be overheard on commentary to be unimpressed with Ortega.
  

 

Erin Ortega defeated Brit Riley in 10:05 by pinfall with a handful of tights.

Post-match, Ortega wasn’t finished with Riley however. Picking her up for another Big Apple Slam, Ortega was rushed by Alexia Dynamite who sprang from the commentary station to save Brit Riley. Ortega let go of Riley and fled the ring, staring a hole through Alexia as she left to the boos from the fans in attendance.

Ala Dorada & THUNDER Magnum vs Black Idol & Berzerkus

 

• A clash of styles awaited the fans in the next match as the malicious duo of Black Idol and Berzerkus faced off against the fun-loving THUNDER Magnum and the high flying Ala Dorada - two men looking to make a name for themselves in America.
  
• A feeling out process started the match with Magnum wary of Berzerkus’ strange antics and Berzerkus intent of creeping Magnum out. Magnum eventually got over Berzerkus antics, taking him down to the mat with a basic takedown only for Berkerzus to start rolling around the ring. With a confused look on his face, Magnum went to help up Berzerkus only for Berzerkus to flip up and punch him to the mat whilst laughing.
  
• Black Idol soon tagged in and looked to continue the punishment on Magnum only to be met with the flying form of Ala Dorada - Dorada taking advantage of the lucha tag rules used by Gureisu Pro to tag in whilst Magnum rolled out of the ring. A classic battle of American cruiserweight and Mexican lucha followed with neither man able to gain an advantage.
  
• Chloe Bourel was the difference maker though. Rising from the commentation station - where she had spent all match mocking THUNDER Magnum & Ala Dorada - she grabbed the leg of Dorada as he ran the ropes, allowing Idol the time to recover and nail Dorada with the Paroxysm for the win, Berzerkus springing into action and neutralising THUNDER Magnum.
  

 

Black Idol and Berzerkus defeated THUNDER Magnum and Ala Dorada in 10:05 when Black Idol defeated Ala Dorada by pinfall with a Paroxysm.

Famous C vs Mike Santorelli

 

• In the last match before the interval, two men from the same area of the world but with vastly different attitudes faced off. In one corner, you had the brash and overconfident Mike Santorelli and in the other corner, Famous C sat in bemusement at Santorelli’s pre-match antics of loudly shouting “Up All Night” before pumping his fist.
  
• The bemusement soon faded to focus as the bell rang, Famous C determined to prove himself as more than just a tag partner to Brian King in HCG. A cat and mouse game ensued with Santorelli trying to hit the agiel Famous C and failing, growing steadily more angry with each passing miss.
  
• All this changed however when Famous C missed a dropkick from the second rope. Taking advantage, the cocky loudmouth Santorelli started pounding C into the mat with punches and slams.
  
• The match soon ended with an All Nighter from Mike, Famous C putting up a good fight but not being able to produce the goods on the night.
  

 

Mike Santorelli defeated Famous C in 9:57 by pinfall with The Fist Pump.

Intermission soon followed which seen some of the GPRO wrestlers make their way out to mingle with the fans. Highlights of this included:-

• A dance-off between the trio of DISCO Fox (who won with a spectacular one-man rendition of Uptown Funk), Buzzard (who constantly just flapped his arms) and Forajido (who looked lost at the proceedings).
  
• Cameron Cody sauntering out, surrounded by the members of The Almighty, to claim that once he ruled the Gureisu landscape, he would treble the price of admission. His claims were soon shot down by both referees who claimed that The Referee Union would stop any attempts at an increase in price.
  
• A raffle was held to determine the four teams who would take place in the Gureisu Dream Pair championship match tomorrow night. The teams drawn were the team of Scorpion & Aguila Negra representing The Almighty - Cameron Cody looking pleased at the opportunity for The Almighty to gain more gold, The Shadow Alliance of Black Idol & Berzerkus, DISCO Fox & Buzzard of The Animal Alliance and the team of Famous C & J.T. Rush - formed after Marcus Mitchell ran out of full teams to draw.

Animal Alliance (DISCO Fox, Buzzard & FinEATo) vs The Almighty (Chloe Bourel, Aguila Negra & Cole Younger)

• Intermission ended and the fans were treated to dance-off king DISCO Fox leading his trio of Buzzard, FinEATo & himself out for the first contest of the second half of the show. In good spirits after the intermission, the good spirits soon ended as Chloe Bourel made her way out alone. Grabbing the attention of all three wrestlers in the ring, the momentary lapse in concentration allowed Aguila Negra & Cole Younger to slide into the ring and ambush Fox, Buzzard & FinEATo.
  
• Younger threw both Buzzard & FinEATo out of the ring to start the match off and immediately went on the offensive with DISCO Fox. Barely giving the dancing favourite a chance to recover, Younger - wrestling in standard black trunks, kneepads and boots due to his role as the young boy in The Almighty - looked impressive but his inexperience caught him as he ended up nearly falling to a small package by DISCO Fox. Chloe Bourel rushed into the ring to break this up, pushing Younger out whilst berating him and becoming the legal person for her team.
  
• Declaring she wanted “fresh meat” she kicked Fox from the ring and dared either Buzzard or FinEATo to come in. FinEATo answered the challenge and surprised Bourel by taking the fight right to her, backing her into a corner before signalling to the crowd it was time for a Feeding Frenzy….only to be stopped as Aguila Negra launched himself into the ring to take out FinEATo with a springboard crossbody.
  
• Buzzard swiftly dealt with Aguila Negra but the damage was done, Bourel regained control and used precision strikes to almost torture FinEATo before locking in the Canadian Cloverleaf and refusing to let go until FinEATo was frantically tapping at the mat.
  

 

The Almighty (Chloe Bourel, Cole Younger and Aguila Negra) defeated Animal Alliance (DISCO Fox, FinEATo and Buzzard) in 10:10 when Chloe Bourel defeated FinEATo by submission with a Canadian Cloverleaf.

Dread Nocturn vs Jayden Cole

 

• In the most serious match on the card, Jayden Cole faced off with Dread Nocturn. Jayden entered with no theme and with no look of fear or intimidation on his face instead pure focus as he awaited his opponent. Dread Nocturn soon joined him in the ring, his body language stating he was ready for a straight-up fight.
  
• Chain grappling started the match off with both men fighting to gain an advantage, eventually taking it down to the mat where Dread Nocturn managed to get Jayden into a full mount position before raining down blows. The ferocity of the blows forced Referee Mark Rydale to get involved, pulling Nocturn off of Jayden and checking to see if Jayden was able to continue.
  
• Making his way to his feet, Jayden looked worse for wear and it showed as he didn't seem able to connect with any strikes. Nocturn began to let his guard down and taunted Cole, only to be met with a huge roundhouse to the side of the head.
  
• Picking Nocturn up, Jayden soon tapped into his arsenal of kicks and strikes, using them to hit Nocturn and keep him at range.
  
• Jayden soon ended the match with the Saka Otoshi, forcing Nocturn to tap out. Offering his opponent a handshake, Jayden was left disappointed as Nocturn ignored the offer and sulked to the locker room area.
  

 

Jayden Cole defeated Dread Nocturn in 9:38 by submission with a Sleeper Hold.

Leroy Winters vs Pierre Lejosne

• Pierre tried to start the match off with a respectful handshake towards Leroy, Leroy refused - leading Marcus Mitchell to wonder just why people hate handshakes in Gureisu - and tackled Pierre to the ground, transitioning into a headlock that kept the younger man on the mat.
  
• Pierre eventually fought his way out of the hold though and got to his feet, deftly dodging a lariat from Leroy and countering with a dropkick that staggered the elder statesman of Gureisu Pro against the ropes and then followed this up with a clothesline that sent Leroy to the outside.
  
• Pierre’s moment was cut dead after Leroy punched him straight in the mouth to prevent a suicide dive. With Leroy now in control, Pierre was subject to the full brunt of Leroy’s 17 years of experience with Leroy using seemingly every trick in his playbook to keep the young Canadian down.
  
• That wouldn’t be the case however as Pierre once again fought his way back into it, slipping out of Leroy’s Long Winter’s Rest into a German Suplex followed by a Prawn Hold for the three count and a place in tomorrow’s semi-finals!
  

 

Pierre Lejosne defeated Leroy Winters in 15:48 by pinfall via Delfin Special.

J.G. Nielsen vs Super TIGER

 

• Two men extremely familiar faced off here as the bitter veteran of wrestling J.G. Nielsen and the fan favourite Super TIGER faced off in a match of the night contender.
  
• Utilising both their combined knowledge, Nielsen and TIGER constantly tried to one up each other in the early goings, leading to what looked like NIelsen attempting a springboard dive only for him to step down off of the ropes and taunt Super TIGER.
  
• TIGER responded by kicking Nielsen off of the ring apron before using the bottom rope as his springboard, hitting a step up dive onto Nielsen which kept the older man floored for a solid minute.
  
• FIghting their way back into the ring, Nielsen looked to have the advantage after kicking TIGER in his crown jewels and following that up with a trio of snap suplexes. Heading up to the top rope, Nielsen waited for TIGER to stand on his feet before flying off with the Top Rope Crossbody...only for TIGER to move at the last moment.
  
• TIGER had the match in his pocket from this moment on, stringing together a fantastic combo of strikes and moves that ended up him flying off the top rope with the Howay The Toon for the win!

Alexia Dynamite vs Paul Crowley

 

• Paul Crowley had previously dismissed Alexia on Chatterbox and this mixed with the earlier frustrations at Erin Ortega had Alexia Dynamite fired up. Marching straight to the ring, she waited for Crowley to make his way out to the ring.
  
• Unsatisfied however at how long he was taking, Alexia flew out of the ring and wiped out Crowley with a big suicide dive, which was followed up by two more in quick succession, Alexia finally taking some time to breathe after the initial burst of adrenaline.
  
• Working his way to his feet, Crowley had a look of shock and enjoyment on his face, no doubt due to him underestimating his opponent. Rolling into the ring, he allowed Alexia to get back in as well before taking her down to the mat with a hammerlock.
  
• Staying on top of her, Crowley showcased the “superior” British style of wrestling and kept the pressure on Alexia, seamlessly switching which joint he was working over with the right leg of Alexia being the favoured joint.
  
• Alexia soon got to her feet and began to mount a comeback. Going for the Boot Full of Dynamite, she soon found herself tapping out as Crowley managed to lock in the Prince’s Lock kneebar midway through the Boot Full of Dynamite.
  

 

In a bout that had a good crowd and some decent in-ring action, Paul Crowley defeated Alexia Dynamite in 15:13 by submission with a Prince's Lock.

Cameron Cody vs Jamilia Rose

 

• The main event of the show saw the super egomaniacal Cameron Cody lock horns with Jamilia Rose in the final quarter final of the Gureisu Junior Heavyweight tournament. Cody was seconded by The Almighty pairing of Chloe Bourel & Cody Younger, Younger ordered by Cody to get him water and a towel for the end of the match.
  
• Cody and Rose put on the definitive match of the night here with both workers giving it everything they had in their arsenal to walk away the victor. No one person ever truly had the lead in the match instead the tempo often shifted pace to suit both workers.
  
• Chloe Bourel got involved halfway through the match, attempting to throw salt in the eyes of Jamilia Rose only to be thwarted by Referee Joe Preston who sent her and Cole Younger to the back, Cameron Cody looking more annoyed than anything at this new development.
  
• Jamilia took advantage of this though, scoring a close two count with a bridging half nelson suplex which was followed up by the Rose’s Thorn which would have won her the match if not for Cody’s foot being under the ropes at the time of the pinfall.
  
• Cody’s second wind came soon after. Nailing Rose with a pin-point enziguri, he followed it up with a Superkick to the jaw of Jamilia before throwing her into the turnbuckle with a vicious Buckle Bomb. Not finished with his work, he ascended to the top rope and flew off, nailing Rose with the Anti-Gravity Matrix to secure his place in the semi-finals of the tournament.
  

 

In a bout that had a good crowd and good action, Cameron Cody defeated Jamilia Rose in 20:15 by pinfall with an Anti-Gravity Matrix.
