The year is 2017, and the WWE is ruled by Stephanie McMahon and Triple H. Some has changed in the past 3 years since they took over, some has stayed the same. Gone are the days of faces and heels, as HHH and Steph ushered in an era of letting the fans choose who to root for. Wrestlers will display tendencies towards a side but there is no strict kayfabe in this generation’s WWE. Driven by the death of Shawn Michaels, Hunter has attempted to build a company that would make his friend proud. He has put a bigger emphasis on in ring work and has brought in some of the best young talent from all over the world. He's plucked workers straight from NXT to become world champs and has gone past the performance center to fill those holes in NXT, signing people straight from dojos around the globe to become the next generation of superstars. Vince is gone and so is the old WWE. It's 2017 and the Balor Club is running wild, the Shield is back for one last reunion and the women's division is the best damn women's wrestling in the world.

They decided to all face each other once and leading to a triple threat due to Roman Reigns' contract expiring. This is their last ditch effort to show what he is capable of in order to keep him on the roster.

Led by Devitt Balor and now seemingly Adam Cole, this stable has both world champs, the tag champs and the divas champ. The recently added Sasha has brought a new punch to the group but also brought some tension as Paige and Sasha are direct competitors. There seems to be no sign of this group stopping any time soon. The Balor Club has been running wild since the Royal Rumble and looks to run wild for years to come.

Heyman: You know Charlie you’re a real piece of work. My client Brock Lesnar’s fight is not just one of the big fights of the night, it is the biggest fight of many colossal battles!

Renee: Simmer down there Paul, I don’t think you’re right there. My eyes are on the battle between the new face and the old face of the WWE, Devitt Balor vs. John Cena.

Kelly: Me too, and similarly the fight between Adam Cole and Cody Rhodes. These are two guys with a lot of history dating back to Adam Cole’s first match in the WWE. Adam Cole vs. Cody Rhodes is a staple of this generation and I can’t wait for the newest installment. Let’s get to the first match!

KENTA vs. Ricochet vs. Adrian Neville

The PPV started out hot with three hungry midcarders looking to make moves and get on up the card. KENTA, who recently won the US Championship, spent most of the match on the ground while Ricochet and Neville showcased what they could do as the two best high flyers in the world. Eventually KENTA fought his way back in and delivered the GTS to Ricochet off of a 450 splash. What an exciting opener that was!

Cesaro vs. Rusev

HOSS FIGHT! Two former world champions squared off in an ultra competitive match and a contender for match of the night. Rusev dominated with his ground based offense while Cesaro dominated with his combination of speed and strength. Although it was a very even fight, it never seemed for sure like Rusev would pull it out. Cesaro finished off the match with a nasty European Uppercut followed by the 1,2,3.

After the match, Sasha Banks and Paige are shown walking to the ring, followed by a short hype video for the following tag team match between the women of the Balor Club and the Bella Twins.

Sasha Banks and Paige (The Balor Club) vs. Nikki and Brie Bella (The Bella Twins)

New roster call up and Balor Club acquisition Sasha Banks was the lead woman in this match showing why Triple H believed in her enough to call her up. For weeks The Bellas have tormented Paige and AJ, but a last second injury to AJ forced the Boss into duty. Was the injury a blessing in disguise? Maybe. But then again, who knows how AJ would have done? This was maybe the best divas match of all time, with the crowd so into it that you would have thought it was the main event. Sasha and Brie in particular put on a show. Ultimately Sasha made Nikki tap with the Bankrupt and the crowd gave a standing ovation to the four woman as they walked to the back.

Daniel Bryan vs. Kurt Angle

In a technical showcase for the ages between the Aging Olympic Gold Medalist and the “Greatest of All Time” Daniel Bryan, Daniel Bryan showed why he is the one still wrestling and why Kurt Angle’s career is winding down. Daniel kicked out of four Angle Slams and got out of two ankle locks while tormenting Angle with various submission holds and right when it seemed like Angle would tap, Bryan would let go to prolong the agony of Kurt. Finally, the LeBell Lock sealed the deal for Daniel, and when the bell rang he did not let go. There can’t be much more left in the tank for Angle after this.

Brock Lesnar vs. Bray Wyatt

Follow the Beast has been the message that Paul Heyman has been yelling for weeks upon end while Brock has been destroying the eater of worlds and the new face of fear. Bray has been kind of in a stagnant position ever since his feud with Randy Orton for the World Heavyweight Championship a year ago while Brock has been hankering for a shot at the gold yet again, proving time and time again that he deserves to be on top. This was more back and forth than many people believed would be the case, and Brock barely eeked out the victory, showing Bray to still be a believable threat to the main event scene all while demonstrating Brock’s impressive power yet again.

Special Guest Referee Dean Ambrose

Even though the Shield is trying to showcase Roman as a beast who deserves a spot on the roster, Rollins was not willing to let up for this friendly competition. After a long back and forth which included many spots on the outside involving the barricades and announcer’s table, Rollins won after a curb stomp in which Reigns was draped over the barricade, leading to a count out.

Another contender for match of the night, with a lot of bad blood between the teams. Zayn and Steen have been feuding off and on after tagging for two years and JeriBo and the Bucks have been trading the tag titles back and forth for some time. Gigantic spotfest here, as is the custom with Young Bucks matches, with the spot of the night happening when Cooper got on Steen’s shoulders to avoid Zayn’s onslaught, only for Jericho to hit a moonsault off the top rope, sending the three workers to the outside. Bo Dallas won with a BoDog on Kevin Steen.

In many people’s most anticipated match of the night, Cody Rhodes put on an absolute show, looking like he would be the new champion and the man to start the demise of the Balor Club. From the tag team feud to the feud for the intercontinental championship all the way to this feud for the WWE Championship, these two are destined to fight forever. The Degenerate Adam Cole never had the upper hand until his buddies the Young Bucks hopped in the ring when Cody accidentally knocked out the ref. Cooper and Connor delivered a double superkick and Cole hit the Buckle Bomb. I have a feeling this feud isn’t over.

Devitt Balor vs. John Cena

The new face vs. the old face. The leader of the most dominant stable since the now vs. the leader of the WWE Universe. The king of Ireland vs. America’s pride and joy. Devitt beat Cena at Wrestlemania but now Cena wants his payback. The two locked up to start and Cena overpowered the smaller Balor. After a brutal, heavy hitting and bloody match, the two were both down on the mat, catching their breath. All of the sudden, Cena popped Devitt up for an AA and Kevin Steen immediately sprinted down to stop Cena. Cena dropped Balor down and stepped up to Steen but Balor pleaded for Steen to step off so he could finish the match on his own. Steen hit a Package Piledriver then walked to the back. Devitt smiled and walked up top to hit the double foot stomp… Cena moved! AA!! 1….. 2…… NO!!!! Devitt hits the Bloody Sunday! 1…. 2… 3! Devitt is still the champion!

The PPV went off the air with the Balor Club gathering in the ring and celebrating their wins tonight, when all of the sudden the Shield appeared on the ramp. The crowd went beserk and the announcers signed off hyping Monday Night Raw!

John Cena vs. Tyson Kidd

Although he is well down the card, Tyson Kidd put up a really spirited fight in this one. He scored many nearfalls on the leader of the WWE Universe, but in the end John Cena’s ability was too much for Tyson to handle. Cena ended up beating Tyson at his own game, making him tap to an STF, followed by a small promo on the ramp about how Balor got the best of him and it was time to move onto better things. Then a small interruption happened…

Cesaro popped out of the back and threw Cena off the stage and down to the concrete below! He followed Cena down and right when Cena popped up, Cesaro planted him with a devastating DDT to the concrete! Cena is out cold and the paramedics are helping him to the back… What a vicious attack.

Adrian Neville vs. Ricochet

The two best high flyers in the world are at it again, this time without KENTA in between them. Lots of aerial attacks in this one, with Ricochet ultimately coming out on top with his 630 senton. The two shook hands and walked to the back together after the match.

The Miz is the supreme leader of the Network Division and it seems like this is no exception, facing a future Hall of Famer and another formidable opponent, he had the disadvantage but still pulled it out following a roll up on Jericho. Brock Lesnar vs. Rusev

Rusev thought he would have an easier night after Payback against Cesaro last night, but boy was he wrong. Brock Lesnar is still the beast incarnate of the WWE. This was an incredible stiff and athletic match, with both guys showcasing their agility in a ground based offense. Lesnar ended up getting the win with a ginormous F5.

The Young Bucks of the Balor Club vs. The James Bros

Every time these two teams match up, magic seems to happen and this time was no exception. The James Bros in particular are the most consistent tag team in the company, but that’s no match for The Young Bucks’ extreme hot streak. The Bucks won with a nice double superkick in a hyper competitive match.

After the match, the entire Balor Club came out and threw the Jameses out to ringside then Kevin Steen grabbed a mic. He wasn’t happy with how the Shield came out at the end of the PPV last night, it should have been their night, but The Shield upstaged them.

Steen: Now if you boys want a fight, I say you come fight us right now to main event this show so we can put to rest all of the murmurs and speculation. If you fellas went a fight, then damn it you’ll get one!!!

Balor grabbed a chair and sat down facing the stage, waiting patiently while his crew paced around the ring, waiting for the men of The Shield to step up. But to everyone’s surprise, Sami Zayn came out!

*The crowd went crazy as Balor methodically got out of his chair and into Zayn’s face. The two had a staredown and the second that Balor raised his title, the Young Bucks smashed in the sides of Zayn’s head with their titles! Sasha and Paige held Zayn down while Balor hit the double foot stomp and then walked to the back with his gang, leaving Sami to suffer in the ring. Cody Rhodes came in through the crowd and helped Zayn up while yelling at the Balor Club.

Daniel Bryan vs. CM Punk vs. Randy Orton

This is a loaded match with three former WWE Champions and three men who all are currently staking a claim to being the best in the world. Orton’s legend killer persona has been reborn as of late and he was the aggressor in this match, dealing out a deadly second rope DDT to the two of them at the same time then immediately bringing a chair into the ring. Orton beat down the both of them and controlled the entire match, but he got too greedy and tried to RKO Punk onto the chair…. And it didn’t work! Punk pushed Orton into the ropes and hit a high kick, followed by an Elbow Drop and a GTS for the win.

Winner: CM Punk

Mark Henry vs. Jack Swagger

The World’s Strongest Man is still pretty damn strong and he proved that tonight, squashing Jack Swagger before clamoring for more, asking who’s next.

*Backstage Cody Rhodes is talking with Steve Austin about wanting a match with Adam Cole tonight, and he wants the title on the line. Austin tells him that he needs a main event and he can take Sami Zayn as his partner and fight the two world champs. Cody turns to Sami who is still recovering from the assault by the Balor Club and then turns around to Austin and promises to give them hell, and that’s the bottom line!

Adam Cole and Devitt Balor of the Balor Club vs. Sami Zayn and Cody Rhodes

This was essentially a handicap match, because Sami Zayn was barely conscious. Cody put up a spirited fight but was outworked by the swift teamwork of Cole and Balor. Once Cody tagged in Zayn, the match quickly came to an end when Balor hit the Bloody Sunday and followed it with a swift and easy three count.

Winner: The Balor Club

How have Jack Swagger and Luke Harper been doing?

Swagger and Harper have been floundering in the opener role. I tried to push Harper but it proved to be difficult. He teamed with Roman for a while but they didn't win the titles ever. Shame I don't have more for one of my favorite guys :/ who knows in the future though! Swagger just hasn't done anything. His one meaningful win came three years ago against Bo Dallas but the only thing keeping him on the roster is his great in ring skills.
