So, as most people are aware, the ThunderVerse team have been working on a historical mod, dubbed ThunderVerse Vice, for some time now and we are certainly chugging along nicely. In fact, this thread marks the point where we are all but finished with the 'opening' of the mod. In other words, everything (barring finer details like employment & title histories) is ready to go for a short-term game. Therefore we're going to put together a series of one month diaries for a number of 1980 promotions so that you can get a feel for the time-frame while we crack on with getting this sucker in the can (sorry, no, we still don't have a release date ). jhd1 Posted June 7, 2015 Share Posted June 7, 2015 Just to expand a little on MJ's opening, the idea is for us to run the first 28 days as a number of promotions one after the other (rather than as a multiplayer game). So MJ will go first as All-Star Wrestling, the AWC's Los Angeles office which can count Terry Thunder and Guy Lothario amongst its roster. Once All-Star has been completed we'll move on to a different promotion (looking likely to be me running a month of World Wide Wrestling) etc. This should give us a chance to introduce you to some of the new characters and ideas contained within the mod without ruining every surprise at the same time Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Already a former AWC Los Angeles Heavyweight & AWC San Francisco Heavyweight Champion and the current AWC American Heavyweight Champion. A solid brawler, Thunder's real assets are his jaw-dropping charisma and his fantastic look. He also works in San-Francisco for the AWC's BAW (the current home of the AWC American Heavyweight Title). A multi time winner of a number of regional AWC titles, Marella is also currently on his third run as AWC World Heavyweight Champion. He also works in the Mid-West for the AWC's GWCW (the current home of the AWC World Heavyweight Title). However there are rumours of personal demons, so probably one to keep an eye on! A solid all-rounder, Joe is currently teaming with "Rodeo" Rod Swanson chasing the AWC LA Tag Team Titles. ALBERTO PEPPER http://i.imgur.com/LRb7Asq.jpg A 9 year veteran middleweight, Alberto Pepper has a quiet charisma which contrasts nicely to his tag team partner Miguel Arriba. Also works in the Mid-South for the AWC's WCTW. JUNGLE LORD http://i.imgur.com/xTrpPkU.jpg A 4 year veteran middleweight, Jungle Lord is a savage who's character is ripped of from a famous novel. A recent addition to the company, Jungle Lord won the AWC LA Tag Team Titles in a tournament shortly after his debut in an uneasy alliance with Prince Nadir arranged by his 'handler' Crazy Lena. A solid brawler and high-flyer. MIGUEL ARRIBA http://i.imgur.com/CjdZQxC.jpg An 11 year veteran light-heavyweight, Miguel Arriba struggled on his native Mexican scene due to his size but has become a hit over the border in the South-West with his stereotypical Mexican gimmick. A steady hand in the ring, his tag team with Alberto Pepper works well. He also works in Arizona for the AWC's PWA. DONNIE DOMICO http://i.imgur.com/i5iRpW2.jpg A 5 year veteran middleweight, Donnie Domico is an actor turned wrestling manager turned pro wrestler with a seriously cocky and flamboyant charisma. An entertaining addition to the ASW midcard, Domico's mouth tends to see him get in trouble with the more popular wrestlers of the company, largely resulting in his jobber-to-the-stars status. PRINCE NADIR http://i.imgur.com/cGfohVL.jpg A 3 year veteran middleweight, Prince Nadir plays the arrogant foriegn royalty gimmick to a tee although he's far from the best in the ring. Recently won the AWC LA Tag Team Titles with Jungle Lord thanks to a deal struck between his 'Financial Advisor' Ernie Savoldi and Jungle Lord's 'Handler' Crazy Lena. JACKHAMMER#1 http://i.imgur.com/4dvzBNL.jpg An 8 year veteran heavyweight, Jackhammer#1 is a solid brawler who teams with Jackhammer#2 to form The Jackhammers (shock), with the team managed by Ernie Savoldi. He also works in the North-West for the AWC's PWC under his own name of Delroy Brown. With Wild-West show cowboy & Hollywood stuntman being Rod's day-jobs he practically lives his gimmick and is currently teaming with Africa Joe chasing the AWC LA Tag Team Titles. ROCK-OUT ROBBERSON http://i.imgur.com/IEIOnPb.jpg A 5 year veteran middleweight, Rock-Out Robberson is a well-rounded & charismatic kid who 'gets it' and who has bags of potential given he's only 22. DRUM-BEAT DAWSON http://i.imgur.com/K2VYoeN.jpg A 2 year veteran light-heavyweight, Drum-Beat Dawson is a solid rookie brawler who teams with Rock-Out Robberson in All-Star as the front-man's drummer. With solid physical & mental skills, the kid could go far provided he can up his in-ring game. KENNY TERREO http://i.imgur.com/wauzo5n.jpg A 5 year veteran middleweight, it is certainly Kenny Terreo's mic skills that have kept him in ASW thus far but the kid has potential and can job like a demon. Currently managing Randy Allman (who she worships) and Jungle Lord (who only she can control) in ASW, she also works in San Francisco for the AWC's BAW. AUTHORITY FIGURE JESS BUXTON http://i.imgur.com/JqJ8CYL.jpg A 3 year veteran wrestler turned valet & wrestling personality, Jess Buxto only managed a handful of matches before resigning herself to valet work. However she is proving her worth in ASW where she acts as the Secretary to the (unseen) Commissioner and announces his rulings. On his orders she also accompanies LA Heavyweight champ Dr Bill Haft to the ring, obviously against her wishes. ANNOUNCE TEAM TRENT MACKENZIE http://i.imgur.com/K36ES7W.jpg A 15 year veteran announcer, Trent Mackenzie is also a well-known news personality in his native LA. Passionate about ASW, he recently put in some of his own money to become a 'junior partner' in the business (which means he has a long-term written contract despite ASW being regional) LEE BOLD http://i.imgur.com/6QEPLgF.jpg An 18 year veteran wrestler turned colour commentator, Lee Bold was once one of the top heels in ASW but retired from the ring in 1975. Kept on in the newly created role of colour commentator, Bold & Mackenzie are a solid announce duo. REFEREE CARTER MAYHEW http://i.imgur.com/n32H1Sh.jpg A 29 year veteran referee, Carter Mayhew has been with ASW since the beginning and is a very talented ref. However now in his early 60s he's probably due retirement soon. ROAD AGENT ADRIAN CLARKE http://i.imgur.com/FFHp2FU.jpg A 27 year veteran wrestler turned road agent, Adrian Clarke is something of a South-West legend and, like Ref Carter Mayhew, has been with ASW since the beginning. However the years at the top of the territory have weathered the man horribly and he looks more like a spritely 60 than someone only just pushing 50! STARTING STORYLINES The Mentor and The Protege Since Guy Lothario returned to ASW in September he has had one thing on his mind - relieving his old mentor and former tag team partner Dr Bill Haft of the LA Heavyweight Title. However, with the never-seen ASW Commissioner having put his secretary and mouthpiece Jess Buxton in the Champ's corner (a place she would obviously rather not be), the cards certainly seem stacked in Haft's favour! Los Angeles Tag Fury Already embroiled in singles feuds when Prince Nadir & Jungle Lord surprisingly teamed up to win the AWC LA Tag Title Tournament in October, Africa Jo & Rod Swanson have paired up themselves to take down the unlikely champions. However, while the gold-holding team was the initially brainchild of their managers Crazy Lena & Ernie Savoldi, the cracks are already beginning to show... not between the champions, but the managers themselves! PRE-SHOW **************************************** KENNY TERREO vs PRINCE NADIR - He's a champion, so he really shouldn't be losing unless there's a good reason. Plus his partner isn't here, so there shouldn't be any miscommunication. **************************************** ROCK HARD vs ROBARD & MANFRED - Hardest prediction for me. It's easy to have an unpredictable show if you throw in a bunch of swerves or illogical decisions, but that usually ends up costing in the long run. Having said that I'm probably going to whiff on my predictions for this show. **************************************** ROCK HARD - Tough call given these teams seem about even on the totem pole. I went with Rock Hard on the basis they seem to need a win more. vs SINGH & DANCE **************************************** PEPPER & ARRIBA - They need a win, and Manfred seems like the weak link here. vs ROBARD & MANFRED **************************************** *NON-TITLE MATCH* KENNY TERREO vs DR BILL HAFT - Squash Match **************************************** MAIN SHOW **************************************** AFRICA JO - I'll take Jo by DQ here. vs JUNGLE LORD **************************************** *HANDICAP MATCH* GUY LOTHARIO - I don't really like the idea of a singles guy beating a tag team, but I really don't see why Lothario should lose leading to a title shot.
