These two NXT: Smackdown tag teams put on a decent match for the pre-show. The Vaudevillians were the clear crowd favourites, as the cocky Jason Jordan and Chad Gable bragged about all the wrestling manoeuvres they knew. After a great comeback from Simon Gotch that nearly led to a victory and new Champions, the finish came when Ready. Willing. And Gable. hit their tag team move: ‘Grand Amplitude’ (Aided bridging high angle belly to back suplex) on Aiden English

The show opened with WWE Owner and Chairman, Vince McMahon heading to the ring to great applause…

In the absence of Triple H and Stephanie McMahon (due to Finn Balor’s attack on ‘The Game’ some months back) Vince has been in charge of RAW…

He’s made a number of popular decisions in recent months; a far cry from the days of ‘The Authority’…

And as he strolled to the ring like only he can, he had another one on his mind…

Vince McMahon:

“Ladies and Gentlemen… As you are well aware… there is currently a ‘Brand Split’ in place in the WWE… Superstars from both RAW and NXT: Smackdown will come together tonight, to compete in the annual 30-man Royal Rumble Match… The winner of which, will receive a shot at either the WWE World Heavyweight Title OR the NXT World Title at Wrestlemania 32!!!”

The crowd cheered in appreciation, but Mr. McMahon said that that was all common knowledge…

Vince McMahon:

“What you may NOT know… is that tonight, the winner of the Royal Rumble Match will also get the chance to CHOOSE which Title he competes for on the ‘Grandest Stage of them All’… and therefore can CHOOSE which Brand he represents going forward… It’s a huge opportunity, and to whoever wins, I say: ‘I believe in you’…!!!”

Vince was done, but then the music of ‘The Inspirational’ Bo Dallas hit, and out came the charismatic youngster…

Dallas said that it’s all very well and good ‘believing’ in the winner of the Royal Rumble… but Vince doesn’t ‘Bo-Lieve’ in him…

Bo Dallas:

“I’m not even IN the Royal Rumble Match this year… and it’s not FAIR…!!!”

Dallas claimed to be the hardest working member of the RAW roster, and that NOBODY could throw him over the top rope…

With that, out came The Ryback… who also had a chip on his shoulder…

Ryback said he doesn’t like liars, and he doesn’t like complainers… and told Dallas to get out of the ring, and work harder…

Dallas didn’t like it, and went for Ryback, which angered the ‘Big Guy’… and a fight broke out between them…

It didn’t last long, as Ryback picked Dallas up and threw him over the top rope, to big cheers from the fans!

The first match of the night, was a re-match from the TLC pay-per-view… A Chairs Match, which Sami Zayn won…

Tonight though, Zayn will battle Kevin Owens again, this time in a normal wrestling match…

There was nothing ‘normal’ about this match, unless it was normal to see someone completely destroy their opponent. That’s what Kevin Owens did in this one, using the fact that the referee got knocked down early to his advantage by incorporating weapons into his attacks. He used a steel chair and a kendo stick to keep Sami Zayn grounded, and the brutality of Owens’ offense took the crowd out of it for a long time. However, the resilient Zayn fought back into it, and eventually hit an awesome Tornado DDT on the outside of the ring after flying past the corner post and through the ring to grab Owens’ head. Zayn’s innovative offense wasn’t enough in the end though, and he succumbed to Owens’ power and dominance when ‘Fight Owens Fight’ hit his ‘Pop-Up Powerbomb’ on the ring apron, before hitting a second one in the ring.

Sami Zayn barely moved between the two Powerbombs, and was only carried around by Owens because he’s strong…

The crowd were in almost stunned silence as referees, trainers and EMTs rushed onto the scene to help Zayn…

In the end, he needed to be strapped to a stretcher and carried out of the ring, while Owens was proud of his actions…

With both of the female Champions in the WWE on one team tonight, it was clear that they were the favourites heading into the match. Nikki Bella and Becky Lynch simply don’t like each other, so they were easy pickings early on for Paige and Bayley. The NXT Women’s Champion (Bayley) also brought the crowd into it brilliantly, and they got behind everything she did. However, once Nikki and Becky got on the same page, they were hard to combat, and Bayley was isolated from her corner and her partner: WWE Diva’s Champion Paige. As the match wore on, it looked like Bayley may never get the tag, but eventually she did, and Paige changed the momentum her team’s way. Brie Bella at ringside was the real difference maker though, and her distraction when Bayley was legal again caused Becky Lynch to roll her rival up and pick up the win for her and Nikki Bella!

After the match, Becky Lynch put the boots to Bayley, as the referee tried to intervene…

He had the NXT Women’s Title in his hands; a Belt Becky hasn’t won yet in her career, and she snatched it from him…

The ‘Balor Club’ member escaped up the ramp as Paige got back into the ring, and Lynch took the Title Belt with her…!!!

The next match was a rivalry that began back at TLC in December… when the New Day retained their WWE Tag Team Titles…

On that night, Big E and Kofi Kingston beat Enzo and Cass, but were then attacked and put through tables by the returning Usos!!!

Tonight, Jimmy and Jey make their first appearance together since April of last year (around 9 months ago)…

Their opponents are of course, The New Day’s Kofi and Big E, in a Tables Match!!!

As soon as the Tag Team Champions came through the curtain, Xavier Woods was informed by two referees that he must return to the back, to avoid this one becoming a 3 on 2 handicap match! The Usos laughed in the ring, and loved it as Woods was dragged away kicking and screaming. What followed was a fantastic Tables Match between the two teams. Kofi Kingston’s agility and athleticism was a joy to watch as he avoided the table set up outside the ring on multiple occasions. Big E had to catch him once or twice too to stop him crashing through it and losing the match! The Usos were in control late on, when a masked man ran to the ring shouting and screaming. It was so obvious that it was Xavier Woods, and the referee argued with him and sent him to the back again! Behind the referee’s back though, Jimmy Uso slammed Kofi Kingston through the table! Big E got in, removed Kingston, and hit a powerbomb on Jimmy Uso, rolling him into position so it looked like he’d gone through the table! The referee turned around, but couldn’t call the match as he hadn’t seen it go down! Big E climbed onto the apron to complain, when out of nowhere Jey Uso hit a Super Kick, and a knocked out Big E fell through the table at ringside!

In the Usos’ first match in nine months, they captured the WWE Tag Team Titles!!!

But Xavier Woods was furious, and climbed into the ring to fight the two Samoans…!!!

There was one more table in the ring, and even though you knew what was going to happen, it was still good…

The crowd begged The Usos to put Woods through the table, and they did, in fantastic fashion…

They hit a ‘3D’ on Woods, a move made famous by the Dudley Boys, and the crowd erupted!!!

Balor won the Belt back at ‘Beast in the East’ on July 4th in a match with Kevin Owens…

He retained against Owens the night before SummerSlam, where his group known as ‘The Balor Club’ first arrived…

Last month at TLC, Balor beat Samoa Joe in a Ladder Match to retain again… John Cena was the guest referee…

After the match, Cena and Balor got in each other’s face… and since then, Cena has beaten a number of Balor Club members…

Cena has been attacked by the Balor Club a number of times, but tonight, they are BANNED from ringside…!!!

In his home state, Cena received a good reaction from the Boston fans, but they erupted when Finn Balor made his entrance, even though he was without his facepaint and ‘Demon’ character! He’s been wrestling as Finn Balor since the Balor Club arrived, and the WWE Universe hate him for it, but tonight, in this huge match, he still wouldn’t go back to ‘The Demon’. That being said, ‘The Champ’ was here to become a record-equalling 16-time World Champion, and he wasn’t going to let the lack of facepaint distract him. Cena started well, and was in control for the first few minutes, but Balor fought his way back into it, and was soon on top, and Cena couldn’t get rolling. The fans came into it, as Balor’s recent attitude shone through. He used a low-blow that the referee saw, but refused to disqualify Balor for, as the leader of the Balor Club wanted a DQ loss so he could keep his Title!

Michael Cole:
“I can’t believe Balor would stoop so low and BLATANTLY cheat like that…!!!”

JBL:
“Listen Maggle… Balor knows he’s close to the Main Event of Wrestlemania… He keeps his Title tonight with a DQ loss, and that’s the only thing on his mind!”

Byron Saxton:
“I’m glad the referee didn’t disqualify him… But I wonder if it’ll be a ‘green light’ for Balor to use more underhanded tactics now…?!”

Byron Saxton was pretty much spot on, as after Balor received a warning from the referee, he climbed out of the ring and grabbed his NXT World Title Belt. Balor was going to leave, but Cena was on to him, and pulled him back into the ring. The referee picked up the Belt and began to hand it back to the time keeper, and Balor hit another low blow to Cena! As the ref turned around, Balor rolled up his opponent, and drew an oh-so-close 2 count! The crowd really got behind Cena at this point, and he fed off their excitement. He was able to catch Balor as he came off the top rope looking for a cross body, and he hoisted him up onto his shoulders to deliver an ‘AA’, which he followed up with his ‘STF’ in the middle of the ring. Balor held on as long as he could, but eventually he had to tap out, and Cena won!

John Cena couldn’t quite believe it as he was handed the NXT World Title… His first World Title in over 18 months…

He dropped down to his knees with tears in his eyes as Lillian Garcia proclaimed he was now a 16-time World Champion…

The Boston crowd gave him a great reaction as he fell out of the ring and hugged his family sitting at ringside…

An emotional moment for Cena, but despite the emotions, his look of defiance never wavered…

The Balor Club was defeated tonight, not just Balor himself, and it could be the start of a new era on NXT: Smackdown…

Co-Main Event time next, and before the 30-man Royal Rumble Match, we had a big time score to settle…

Seth Rollins has been WWE World Heavyweight Champion since last year’s Wrestlemania…

He barely survived Title defences against the likes of John Cena, Sheamus, Randy Orton and Bray Wyatt…

But at December’s TLC pay-per-view, he had perhaps his toughest test yet against his former friends in The SHIELD…

Dean Ambrose and Roman Reigns remained on the same page after Rollins ended The SHIELD, but have since fallen out…

At TLC, the two of them climbed the Ladder to grab the WWE World Heavyweight Tittle… but they spilled it and it landed at Rollins’ feet…

Rollins escaped that night, but he didn’t escape Vince McMahon, who wants a new Champion badly…

Tonight, a re-match, but we WILL have a clear winner, as the Belt will be defended in a Triple Threat CAGE Match!!!

This was a great match from these three who know each other so well. The crowd erupted for every counter that the three men produced as they found unique ways to get out of each other’s signature moves. The highlights were Roman Reigns attempting a Power Bomb on Dean Ambrose, but he rolled out of it and hit a Hurricanrana. Plus, Ambrose trying to German-Superplex Seth Rollins off the top rope, only for Rollins to flip over and land on his feet! From there, Rollins was in control, keeping both of his opponents down and in trouble. He tried to escape the cage through the door a number of times, but Dean Ambrose kept grabbing his leg like a dog, and forcing him to come back in! At one point though, Ambrose tried to exit through the door and he was pulled back by Roman Reigns. As Ambrose got to his feet though, he revealed that he had grabbed a chain and padlock from under the ring, and he clobbered Reigns in the face with it!

Michael Cole:
“I don’t believe it! Ambrose has a chain and a padlock!!!”

JBL:
“What is he doing?! He’s locking them inside the cage!!! He’s locking that damn door shut!!! What an idiot!”

Byron Saxton:
“If I was in there with the chain I’d tie Reigns and Rollins to the cage and just waltz out the door… I’m with John on this one, Dean Ambrose is making a mistake here!”

Ambrose seemed to let the emotions of beating his two former friends who stabbed him in the back get to him here, and he just wanted to hurt them both. And Hurt them both he did, with DDTs, suplexes and just a flurry of punches and kicks. However, when he went for his patented Elbow Drop to the standing Reigns, the big Samoan caught him and threw him into the side of the cage! Ambrose was shaken up by that collision, and he never really recovered. It then became a battle between Reigns and Rollins, but soon after Reigns attempted a ‘Spear’ which Rollins dodged, and Reigns crashed head first into the steel cage! Rollins then climbed up to the top of the cage, and began to climb down the other side. Ambrose scampered up after him, while a dazed Reigns tried to go through the locked door. Still dazed, when he realised the door was locked, he grabbed Ambrose, and pulled him down, before delivering a ‘Superman Punch’! But all that did was allow Rollins the time needed to climb down the other side of the cage, and land on the floor with both feet!

Haven't really followed the WWE for a few years, so most of this will be unknown to me. Still, loved your NOTBPW diary so would be a fool to miss the start of this one.

Thanks man. Very nice of you to say that about my NOTBPW diary. Sad I had to end it, but there didn't seem like there would be a better time to do it in the near future, and I missed writing for the WWE!

Certainly an interesting start, my friend. I am intrigued to see how you'd handle a scaled-down version of the Three Brands game LOL

Interesting that you say that. It is a scaled down version of Three Brands, because there are Two Brands... But the roster is the same size, if not a little bigger! The difference is most of my roster now is jobbers, and in a way, I don't need to write much for them or have them on the show very often.

Comments: Good luck with this Lloyd this card looks awesome and a real interesting premise with NXT: Smackdown! It solves two problems, NXT guys on the main roster and a good Smackdown!

Exactly!!! I couldn't put my finger on exactly why I'd sent the entire NXT roster to Smackdown and gave them a show, and you just hit the nail on the head. So many talented guys in NXT, and I rarely watch Smackdown anymore. So I think it works, and I always like to start a diary with some form of fantasy element from the off.

You had me at Big Show, Henry and Kane will leave the WWE!!!

Well... They might not... One of them could win the Royal Rumble yet...

For those of you who don’t know… The rules of the Royal Rumble Match are simple… In a moment, the individuals who drew Numbers ONE and TWO will make their way to the ring… Every 90 seconds, another wrestler will come out in an order pre-determined by a random draw… The only way to eliminate someone is to throw your opponents over the top rope, with both feet touching the floor… Once all thirty men have entered, the last man standing in the ring, will be the winner… and will get a WORLD TITLE MATCH at Wrestlemania 32…!!! A bit of a stand-off started things here, as neither man wanted to make a mistake… They showed mutual respect for one another, but ultimately, Cesaro was the aggressor… ‘The Swiss Superman’ tried to throw Ziggler out a couple of times, but the charismatic and athletic Ziggler held on to the ropes each time, and didn’t get eliminated… At the buzzer, both men were knocked down by a double clothesline and out came entrant number three…

The crowd was fully behind him as he got to the ring, but Enzo didn’t seem to know what to do with himself in his first Royal Rumble appearance… He looked at the fallen Ziggler and Cesaro, and decided to try to eliminated ‘The Show Off’… He threw Ziggler out over the top rope, but again, he held on, and remained on the apron as Enzo celebrated like he’d won the whole match… He then turned his attention to Cesaro and tried to do the exact same thing, but the lb for lb strongest man in the WWE held on to the top rope from inside the ring, and overpowered Amore… None of the three fan favourites could get an elimination in the 90 seconds, and so out came the number four entrant…

A man we’d already seen go through a table earlier in the night arrived on the scene next, and the crowd booed Xavier Woods out of the building… He got in the ring and kicked Dolph Ziggler in the face, which heightened the crowd’s disdain for the New Day member… He got in Enzo Amore’s face too, and ‘pie-faced’ him, leading to a fight between the two… Cesaro watched on, and took the opportunity to rest, but it didn’t last long, as the buzzer soon sounded…

‘The World’s Strongest Man’ Mark Henry

Mark Henry, along with Kane and the Big Show, have promised to retire if they fail to win the Royal Rumble Match tonight, and with that being the case, the crowd gave Henry a warm reception… They knew that coming in at number 5 would make it nearly impossible, but they cheered even louder when he ploughed through Xavier Woods as his first order of business… The cheers soon turned to boos when he did the same to Enzo Amore, and then hit his ‘World’s Strongest Slam’ on Dolph Ziggler in the middle of the ring… As the 90 seconds was almost up, Cesaro rose to his feet in the corner, and the two strongmen stood nose-to-nose in the middle of the ring… They never came to blows though, as entrant number six was ready to arrive…

The creepy Stardust made a slow, methodical approach to the ring, as Enzo, Woods, Henry and Cesaro battled in the ring… Enzo and Cesaro tried to eliminate Henry together, but when Woods tried to help out, they changed their minds and went after Woods instead… By the time Stardust arrived in the ring, he was just in time to save Woods from going out over the top rope, and he then went after Enzo Amore… The buzzer sounded for the next entrant soon after, and Enzo was saved by the arrival of Number seven…

Blake w/ Alexa Bliss

From NXT: Smackdown, the former NXT Tag Team Champion headed out with his manager Alexa Bliss… Blake saved Enzo Amore by going after Stardust, and then clocking Ziggler from behind… But he bit off more than he could chew when he tried to brawl with Mark Henry… The big man swatted Blake off like a fly, and turned his attention back to Cesaro… Finally the two strongmen went to battle man-to-man, and it was a great brawl… But nobody got eliminated, and it was time for number eight to arrive…

The other half of the former NXT Tag Team Champions came out next, and high-fived Alexa Bliss on the way into the ring… With Blake AND Murphy in the ring together, the crowd and announce team began to believe they’d have a chance of working their way through the entire field… That was until they came up against Cesaro, who used his strength to slam them both down with spinebusters… He then signalled that it was time to go ‘swinging’, and he grabbed Blake by the legs… The crowd loved it, particularly when he let go and Blake flew into Murphy who was trying to stop the move… 90 seconds were up though, and out came the number nine…

NXT: Smackdown’s Apollo Crews made his arrival next, and the crowd popped loudly for the NXT: Smackdown star… Despite his high-flying ability, his strength shouldn’t be underestimated, and he easily lifted Xavier Woods above his head in a Military Press… He then walked forward and let Woods drop behind him! Cesaro and Crews then got into a short fight, but it was broken up by the dominant Mark Henry, who took both muscular men down with one clothesline… Before long, entrant number ten arrived, and things got a little more serious…

‘The Bulgarian Brute’ Rusev w/ Summer Rae

Rusev’s first order of business was to eliminate BOTH Blake and Murphy in quick succession… He superkicked the dazed Blake over the top rope, before throwing Murphy out by the back of his head… Summer Rae arrogantly laughed at the tag team, and it angered Alexa Bliss, but Rae didn’t care… Henry was then the focus of Rusev, and the big Bulgarian came out on top in their fight, by again hitting a super kick! The next man out was Enzo Amore, as Rusev picked him up, and simply threw him at both Blake and Murphy… The three youngsters landing in a heap on the floor… Enzo’s elimination was right at the buzzer, and soon, out came the number eleven…

Barrett received a mixed reaction as he strolled out to the ring… He has a lot of fans, but he lost most of them when he hit a ‘Bullhammer Elbow’ on an unsuspecting Enzo Amore at ringside, and then laughed about it… Barrett set his robe, crown and staff down on the ring steps, and slowly, gracefully, entered the fight… His first order of ‘Royal Business’ was to hit another ‘Bullhammer’, this one on Dolph Ziggler, who had taken a number of high-impact moves by this point… Barrett then battled with Mark Henry, and the time ticked on to entrant number twelve…

‘The Celtic Warrior’ Sheamus

Sheamus ran to the ring and the crowd booed him and chanted that he looked stupid! He didn’t care though, as he had a special delivery for one Xavier Woods… BOOM!!! ‘Brogue Kick’ to Woods, and the crowd were suddenly on Sheamus’ side a little bit! He then picked Woods up by his ‘fro, and threw him over the top rope! However, the cheers soon turned to boos, as Sheamus began to focus on the crowd favourite: Cesaro… Also inside the 90 seconds, Rusev was able to make a huge elimination, as he tipped big Mark Henry up and over the top rope and to the floor…

Harper’s arrival was met with boos from the crowd, but there was one man who was pleased to see the bearded big guy… and that man, was Harper’s fellow Ministry member: Stardust! The announce team began to question if anybody could stop The Ministry in this match, particularly with Bray Wyatt still to enter the match… Not a lot happened in this 90 seconds, but Harper used his ‘Gator Roll’ on Ziggler, which was a small highlight…

‘Hollywood A-Lister’ The Miz

Miz’s arrival changed the complexion of the match completely… The cocky RAW star demanded that Stardust and Luke Harper join forces with him, and they did, going after everyone they could get their hands on… Apollo Crews… Cesaro… Ziggler… But their friendship didn’t last long, as Harper almost took Miz’s head off with a lariat! Elsewhere, Cesaro’s night was ended by the dominant Rusev, and the big Bulgarian also propped Apollo Crews on the apron… Only for King Barrett to sneak in and hit a ‘Bullhammer’ to claim the elimination!!!

The half-way stage brought out the largest man in the match… The Big Show! Entering in a much better position than Mark Henry earlier, Show was also out there in his ‘last hope’… If he failed to win the Rumble Match, he’d be retiring tonight, and the crowd once again knew it, and cheered him… His first order of business was to start knocking people out… Rusev… Barrett… and Harper and Stardust all took the ‘KO Punch’… But Sheamus represented a different opponent, and he just wouldn’t allow Show to hit him… As the clock ticked down, the sixteenth man in the match arrived…

‘The Devil’s Favourite Demon’ Kane

Just like Big Show and Mark Henry, Kane knew this was his last match in the WWE if he didn’t win… so when he came out wearing his famous mask and old ring gear, the crowd, and the ring full of wrestlers knew he meant business… He got into the ring, and took Sheamus down with a big kick, before standing toe-to-toe with his old friend Big Show… It seemed the two big men were going to team up, but we never got to find out, because Harper and Stardust launched an attack at their pair of veterans… In a battle of weirdness, Stardust and Kane brawled around the ring, before eventually the ‘Big Red Monster’ threw the facepainted Ministry member out! Moments later, The Miz, who had grabbed a microphone, tried to convince Big Show to reform ‘Show-Miz’ and help him get to the end of the Rumble… But Show knocked Miz out, and then

dumped

him out of the ring and out of the match…

The biggest member of The New Day ran to the ring fired up, as the crowd chanted ‘NEW, DAYSUCKS’… The ring was beginning to fill up with big, strong superstars, with poor Dolph Ziggler, who had been in there since the beginning… Big E went right after Ziggler, and took his former friend down with ease… Big E then brawled with Big Show, as the clock counted down, and Number Eighteen came out…

Another big man arrived next, in the form of The Undertaker’s ‘right hand man’ Bray Wyatt… The lights in the arena went dark, as Wyatt made his slow, methodical entrance with his lamp in his hand… Another big strong man, and Ziggler seemed gutted once again to see the mass of humanity grow… Not a lot happened in the ring, not that we could tell due to the lights being out, but nobody was eliminated when the buzzer sounded…

Representing The Prime Time Playas: Titus O’Neil

Yet another big man, as the Prime Time Playa member hit the ring hard, knocking down Sheamus, Barrett and Harper in quick succession, and letting fly with his ‘Bark’, which the crowd seemed to like… During this 90 second spell though, it was the end for Big Show and Kane, as both men were eliminated by the dominant Rusev!! Their elimination marked the end of both men’s careers, although as the announce team eluded to, never say never in the WWE…

With Kendrick’s help, it was his fellow ‘Balor Club’ member Sheamus who began to take control of the match, as he took down Big E, Titus O’Neil, and Harper one after the other… Kendrick and Sheamus then tried to eliminate Harper, taking a leg each and lifting him upwards! But Bray Wyatt came and stood behind them maniacally laughing! Sheamus and Kendrick turned around, and Wyatt and Harper stood 2 on 2… Ministry of Darkness vs Balor Club… But the buzzer sounded for the 21st entrant… and the crowd erupted at his arrival…

The ‘HOW YOU DOIN’?’ chants were loud when Cassidy ran out, and he knocked Big E down immediately with a big boot… He then went after Harper, and tipped the big Ministry of Darkness member up and out of the ring to a HUGE cheer!!! Cassidy shouted ‘HOW YOU DOIN’?’ at the top of his lungs, and looked intense and fired up! The announce team mentioned Cass’ momentum was so high that he could potentially throw everyone out right now! But in the opposite corner, King Barrett was eliminated by Rusev! And the big Bulgarian then hit a super kick to Cass, ending that 90 second spell…

The third member of The Balor Club arrived, and again, he made an immediate impact by going after the weakest man in the match (been the match the longest that is), Dolph Ziggler… Lasting from Number One, to Number Twenty-Two is not an easy feet, but Ziggler up until this point, despite being beaten up a lot, he had never really looked in danger of being eliminated, until Baron Corbin held him up and looked to throw him straight out… However, out the corner of his eye, he saw Titus O’Neil trying to eliminate ‘Crazy’ Kendrick! Corbin threw Ziggler down, and helped his Balor Club partner out! No further incidents took place, and we soon got Number 23…

‘The Perfect Ten’ Tye Dillinger

Dillinger stood on the stage, and began a ‘TEN!’ chant by repeatedly throwing his hands in the air with his fingers spread!! Then suddenly, as some of the crowd were cheering the cocky 34 year old, Flight of the Valkyries began playing over him… and the crowd erupted at the arrival of DANIEL BRYAN!!!

Bryan stood on the stage in his wrestling gear, next to Dillinger, and began a huge ‘YES!’ chant!!! In a way, showing Dillinger how to begin a decent chant… the crowd loved it, but Dillinger shoved Bryan backwards… The crowd ‘oooohed’, as Bryan’s face turned a little more serious, and he kicked Dillinger right in the chest!!! He then delivered kick after kick to his attacker, and shoved him back through the curtain… Another ‘YES!’ chant then began as Bryan ran to the ring like only he can!!!

After nearly nine months on the shelf, Bryan was in no mood to be greeted by The Balor Club, and promptly eliminated both Kendrick and Sheamus before the buzzer sounded!!!

Neville’s arrival got a great reaction, as suddenly the fans had some more people they could cheer for… Bryan and Rusev were fighting in one corner, and Neville just flew into Rusev, sending the big Bulgarian onto his back! He then hit an awesome standing Shooting Star Press! Bryan was impressed by Neville’s arrival, but not impressed enough to not fight him, and the two stood nose-to-nose, before finally blowing up into a fight! They traded forearms and kicks in a quick but brutal battle, that only ended when Baron Corbin got involved and knocked them both over… The buzzer sounded a few seconds later, and entrant number 25 arrived…

Kingston ran to the ring to a mixed reaction, and his first job was to save his fellow New Day member Big E from elimination by Baron Corbin! However, he wasn’t safe for long, as Daniel Bryan eliminated him moments later with a brilliant kick to the face! ‘The Bulgarian Brute’ Rusev then sprung back into action, and eliminated both Colin Cassidy and Titus O’Neil, before throwing Kofi up and over onto all three men! However… Kofi’s feet didn’t touch the floor!!! Big E held them up, but he was a long way from the ring, and the referees were telling Big E it was time to go! He had to let go of Kofi, but he stayed standing on his hands, with his feet on the announce table as the buzzer sounded!!!

Annoyingly for ‘Mr. No Days Off’ Darren Young, he had to walk past his fellow Prime Time Playa Titus O’Neil on the ramp, but O’Neil wished him luck and he ran to the ring! He had a good showing in the first 90 seconds, getting into a great brawl with Bray Wyatt, and holding his own! Elsewhere, Daniel Bryan somehow eliminated Baron Corbin when the big Balor Club member charged at him and he pulled the top rope down! And, Neville was thrown over the ropes by Rusev, but he slid down the ropes face first and landed on his hands… Somehow, some way, Neville’s momentum took him over to the announce desk on his hands, and his legs came to rest next to Kofi Kingston!!! The two high fliers then entered into a battle, trying to punch each other, and get the other to touch the floor with their feet!!!

With the loving his entrance, ‘Prince Pretty’ made his way to the ring, holding his patented ‘Selfie Stick’… He walked around the ring, and took a selfie with the upside down Neville and Kofi Kingston, before trying to eliminate Neville!!! But the ‘Jumping Geordie’ swung his foot and kicked him in the face!!! Breeze staggered backwards next to the apron, and Rusev reached over the ropes and grabbed him by the hair!!! Breeze screamed in pain as he was pulled into the ring, and got knocked over by the big Bulgarian!! Meanwhile, Kofi Kingston tried to take advantage of Neville being off balance, and he knocked the Brit over, and onto one foot!! But Neville straightened up, and began towards walk to the ring on his hands!! Kingston decided to do the same, and they kicked each other with the crowd lapping it up!! Again, Neville went down onto one foot, but stayed alive, before working back upright!!

‘The Japanese Sensation’ Hideo Itami

Hideo Itami hit the ring, and the crowd cheered his every kick! He knocked Tyler Breeze over, and then focused his attention on Rusev, kicking him all around the ring as Rusev tried to run away! There was nowhere to go though, and Itami destroyed him in the corner with repeated kicks!! Meanwhile, both Kofi Kingston and Neville managed to sort themselves out, and use the ringsteps to get back up onto their feet, and back into the ring… When they got in, they continued their fight from the outside of the ring, and started fighting IN the ring too! Soon though, our next arrival’s music hit…

‘The Samoan Submission Machine’ Samoa Joe

The chants for ‘JOE’ were deafening, as he stormed to the ring with his white towel… Like Itami before him, Joe went after Rusev, and pummelled the dominant Bulgarian in the corner… Kofi Kingston tried his luck on the fresh Joe, but the big Samoan turned and threw Kingston up into the air and then over the ropes and to the floor!!! Meanwhile, Bray Wyatt dumped Darren Young out on the other side of the ring, taking us to 8, with one more to come in… And that one more arrived soon after Young was disposed of…

‘The Big Guy’ Ryback

The final man in the match was the ‘Big Guy’ Ryback, and he stood on the stage for a moment to soak in the fans’ cheers and ‘FEED ME MORE’ chants! He not only soaked them in, but he also fired up the fans, before running down the ramp and getting in amongst it… Ryback attacked Breeze first, taking him down with a spinebuster… He then turned his attention to Daniel Bryan… The man who put him over by awarding him the vacant Intercontinental Title in 2014 when Bryan had to vacate it due to injury… Elsewhere in the ring, Neville tried to hurricanrana Bray Wyatt over the top rope, but the big Ministry of Darkness member lifted him higher and slammed him over the top rope and onto the apron… Neville then fell out of the ring feet-first… Then, in one of the shocks of the night, Rusev charged at Samoa Joe and he managed to lift the ‘Bulgarian Brute’ up and over the top rope to the floor!!! With 10 eliminations, Rusev was done, and Joe got his second scalp…

Soon after Rusev’s elimination, Bray Wyatt went on the rampage, and got rid of Hideo Itami! He ran and hit a corner splash on Dolph Ziggler, knocking ‘The Show Off’ down, and then got into it with the freshest man in the match: Ryback… Wyatt and Ryback tried to outmuscle each other, but Wyatt was fired up at this point, and in another shock, he threw ‘The Big Guy’ over the top rope and out of the match!!!

Down to five, but it was soon time to lose another top name, as Wyatt’s dominance continued… This time, he hit ‘Sister Abigail’ on ‘The Show Off’, and picked up the limp Ziggler and dumped him out of the match… Ziggler lasted over 55 minutes in the match, and was exhausted by the end after taking a beating from some of his much larger opponents…

The Final Four: Bray Wyatt (18), Daniel Bryan (23), Tyler Breeze (27) and Samoa Joe (29) making up the field… Wyatt from RAW, Breeze and Joe from NXT: Smackdown, and Bryan currently has no show, as he wasn’t technically confirmed as a RAW superstar by Vince McMahon when he gave Smackdown to the NXT superstars… The crowd began a ‘LET’S GO BRY-AN’ chant, mixed in with a ‘LET’S GO JOE!’ chant… It was back and forth, and the two fan favourites couldn’t be more popular… It didn’t take long for Joe to eliminate ‘Prince Pretty’ Tyler Breeze, but as Breeze shouted abuse at Joe, he was tipped up and out of the ring by Bray Wyatt, and we were down to two!!!

Bryan and Wyatt are no strangers to one another, even having a very good match two years ago at the Royal Rumble, right before Bryan’s ‘YES! Movement’ really took off… But since then, their paths haven’t crossed, thanks largely to Bryan’s long-term injuries… The two bearded superstars battled back and forth, using various strikes to try and knock each other down, but they both blew up and were exhausted… So took a breather… But then both went back to it, with Bryan seemingly on top, using low kicks… Wyatt went down to his knees, and said he welcomed Bryan’s kicks… Each one was met with a huge ‘YES!’ chant, which Wyatt joined in with… As Bryan zeroed in and went for a kick to the head though, Wyatt caught his foot, and lifted it backwards, before bouncing up to his feet and clotheslining Bryan almost out of his boots!!!

Bryan was down, and he was hurt… Wyatt shouted ‘FOLLOW THE BUZZARDS’, and picked Bryan up for another ‘Sister Abigail’ but as he kissed Bryan on the forehead, the ‘Greatest Of All Time’ fought out of the move, and created some space. He then flew at Wyatt with his running knee, and sent Wyatt staggering into the corner! It looked like Wyatt was out on his feet, and it made it fairly easy for Bryan to lift one leg, and tip the big Ministry of Darkness member up and out of the ring!!! Daniel Bryan, has FINALLY won the Royal Rumble!!!

WOW!! That was a really really good rumble, Bryan winning was awesome and reminded me a bit of 2010 Edge win. Rusev getting the most eliminations was awesome too see, I love Rusev and I hope you push him to the moon.
