PRE SHOW

PSW YOUTH CHAMPIONSHIP

Iven Michaud (champion) v Drew McIntyre

The third meeting between these two for the Youth Championship in as many pay per views, the one difference before the match is this time Iven Michaud is the champion.

Thankfully this was the best of the three matches and was a good way to kick off Code of Honour. It was a close contest throughout again and it was the champion who retained in 8:41 by pinfall with a Scorpion Slice. Iven Michaud makes defence number 2 of his PSW Youth Championship title. Time perhaps for both men to face new opponents next time out. 60

Iven Michaud is improving in rumble skills.

Iven Michaud has won his last 5 matches.

PSW WOMEN’S CHAMPIONSHIP

Nora Greenwald (champion) v Nikita

Some fresh challengers for Nora’s dominant reign as champion with Crowning Glory Womens Series winner Trenesha Biggers challenging last month and Nikita tonight. Certainly tougher challengers than most previous where only Melissa has really caused Greenwald problems.

The result turned out to be the same in another decent and close match up. Nikita came close to winning the title but it was Nora who prevailed in 13:07 by pinfall with a Molly Go Round. Nora Greenwald makes defence number 8 of her PSW Women's Championship title. 57

Nora Greenwald is looking a little stale.

http://i.imgur.com/9OcIGLW.jpg v http://i.imgur.com/ZpA7Z98.jpg

Keiji Sakoda v Rob Van Dam

RVD was considered favourite going into this match. He’s a former Continental champion and has been champion pretty much everywhere he has been. Sakoda is of course a tough customer and is a long reigning former TV champion so was definitely not going to be a pushover for RVD.

Van Dam and Sakoda put on a great match, though there was perhaps a little surprise when it was Sakoda who had his arms raised in 14:46 by pinfall. Van Dam looked pissed at losing. 70

The two share pretty good chemistry.

Cade Thesz is in the backstage interview area. He address Jimmy Yang, saying he will kick his ass tonight, The Outlaws have “a trick or two up their sleeve” and he will leave Code of Honour as the new PSW Continental champion. 73

http://i.imgur.com/J27bmSW.jpg v http://i.imgur.com/9QWHGw0.jpg

AJ Styles v Kevin Steen

Terrific action between two stalwarts of PSW. AJ Styles has been in PSW since day one and is a former three time Continental champion. Steen joined only a few months later and while he hasn’t won the big prize in PSW, he has won all the others and some say he is a future Continental champion.

Steen winning was perhaps a slight surprise, but is also possibly an indication of AJ Styles no longer being the top wrestler in the company he once was and also that Steen is knocking on the door of the top table. Steen was victorious in 14:08 by submission with a Crossface. 71

Kevin Steen is improving in flying skills.

http://i.imgur.com/zbTySKg.jpg v http://i.imgur.com/2G1YSwu.jpg

GRAPPLER’S LEAGUE SECOND DIVISION

Caprice Coleman v Paul London

A lack of psychology hurt this match a little, though it was still a decent affair as the Grappler’s League action starts for the night.

London was favourite going into the match and he bucked the trend of favourites losing the last couple of matches with victory in 10:47 by pinfall with a London Calling. 61

http://i.imgur.com/UkFZwMh.jpg v http://i.imgur.com/ILiAcXw.jpg

GRAPPLER’S LEAGUE FIRST DIVISION

Jeff Jarrett v John Cena

A good enough match but poorer than many anticipated it would have been. Cena was much the stronger in the match in a surprisingly one sided match where Jarrett struggled to get much offence in. Cena’s win was on the cards and duly arrived in 11:32 by pinfall with a Spin-out powerbomb. 55

Jeff Jarrett has lost his last 5 matches.

Jimmy Yang is backstage. He tells Cade Thesz he is ready for anything and everything that he and The Outlaws can throw at him. He is not the “Champion of champions” for nothing. 65

http://i.imgur.com/yjx5RFn.jpg v http://i.imgur.com/HkBJgVF.jpgwithhttp://imgur.com/2OcxRsP.jpg

GRAPPLER’S LEAGUE PREMIER DIVISION

“The Greatest Champion” Chris Jericho v “The Outlaw” Christopher Daniels (with BG James)

This in terms of in ring action was possibly the most anticipated match up of the night and Jericho and Daniels didn’t disappoint as they showed some great action in and around the ring.

Both men scored near falls with both men hitting signature moves only for a last gasp kick out by their opponent.

The end came in 17:52 when Jericho capitalised on a missed Best Moonsault Ever by Daniels to win by submission with a Lion Tamer. 84 – match of the night

PSW CONTINENTAL TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP

Chicago’s Finest (champions) v To Kijar, With Love

A Crowning Glory X rematch that didn’t disappoint and was about as good as the said encounter and with the same result.

The challengers came very close a couple of times to claim the title back but just came up short in 21:39 when CM Punk defeated T.J. Perkins by submission with an Arm Triangle Choke. Chicago's Finest make defence number 1 of their PSW Continental Tag Team Championship titles. 81

Colt Cabana seemed off his game.

Chicago’s Finest have won their last 5 matches.

A video plays hyping Jimmy Yang vs. Cade Thesz and recapping their altercations over the past few weeks. 72

http://i.imgur.com/tdjGkME.jpg

Adam Sandler makes an unannounced appearance. He strides out to the ring, beaming from ear to ear. He says he is here to make the PSW Continental Championship match no disqualification. The crowd boo, knowing the deck is now stacked against Jimmy Yang. 84

Adam Sandler came across well.

PSW CONTINENTAL CHAMPIONSHIP

NO DISQUALIFICATION

“The Champion of Champions” Jimmy Yang (champion) v “The Outlaw” Cade Thesz

This was another even fight though Yang was getting the upper hand when the cavalry arrived as many expected. The other Outlaws – Amazing Red, Christopher Daniels and Roderick Strong ran down to the ring, flanked by BG James. It looked like deja vu from Crowning Glory X when Jimmy Yang kept the title over Chris Jericho, only this time Yang would be the victim. However, things took a further turn when John Cena sprinted to the ring carrying a steel chair. He cracked Red over the back with the chair, likewise to Strong and swung and missed at Daniels who rolled out of the ring. The Outlaws retreated, Cade Thesz was distracted and the champion took full advantage in 26:08 by pinfall with a roll up. Jimmy Yang makes defence number 5 of his PSW Continental Championship title. 82

Jimmy Yang has won his first 14 matches.

Jimmy Yang starts celebrating his title defence with the belt, then turns and sees John Cena across the ring. He squares up to Cena, Cena offers a hand as a way of apology only for Yang to knock it away and push him on to his ass on the canvas before turning his back on Cena in disgust. 58
