A fiery exchange kicks off Superstars of Wrestling between Women’s champion Amazing Kong and her current boyfriend’s ex Joanie Laurer. The two go nose to nose with sneers on their faces and then shove each other. This prompts Kong’s boyfriend Adam Sandler to come running down to the ring, shouting enough. He slides in and Laurer takes one look at him and says “I don’t think so” and lands a punch square on Kong’s jaw. Kong doesn’t go down, instead looks to retaliate, but Sandler has stood between her and Laurer. Kong has a look of pure anger. Laurer goads Kong before around a dozen security and PSW officials run to the ring to separate them further and the show goes to a first commercial. 65

Eddie Kingston (champion) v Valiant Leclerc

Every match tonight has been chosen by a PSW fan. Tonight’s opening contest featured one of the hottest prospects in PSW. Valiant Leclerc has a massive amount of potential. Despite his young age he looks polished in the ring and he is likely to be able to achieve as much as he wants to. By comparison, Eddie Kingston is a seasoned competitors. Leclerc gave Kingston a lot of trouble in this match, but the rookie did make some rookie mistakes and this allowed Kingston to make a fairly routine defence in the end. The match ended in 6:03 by pinfall. Eddie Kingston makes defence number 8 of his PSW Youth Championship title. 56

Nattie Neidhart & Beth Phoenix v Nora Greenwald & Melissa

The first ever PSW women’s tag team match on pay per view featured next and it was a decent match. The women are slowly getting more exposure in PSW and will make their Superstars of Wrestling debut in the coming weeks courtesy of the Crowning Glory Women’s Series.

This tag team match featured three former Women’s champions and PSW’s first woman wrestler Nattie Neidhart and it was the only women not to be a champion who at the fall in 11:21 when Melissa defeated Nattie Neidhart by pinfall. 57

 

Backstage and Adam Sandler is begging his former girlfriend Joanie Laurer to stay backstage and not interfere in his current girlfriend and Women’s champion Amazing Kong’s title defence against Rebecca Knox tonight. Joanie Laurer just snarls at Sandler and calls him pathetic. 77

Sasuke has been a big hit in PSW, impressing fans with his matches and boasting an excellent win loss ratio to boot, which has led him to winning the TV Title from Austin Aries last month. Eddie Colon has been forging a singles career since Carly left and while he had a shot at gold tonight he came up short in 11:23 by pinfall with a Thunder Fire Power Bomb. Great Sasuke makes defence number 3 of his PSW TV Title. 63

PSW WOMEN’S CHAMPIONSHIP

Amazing Kong (champion, with Adam Sandler) v Rebecca Knox

After begging Joanie Laurer to stay in the back and not interfere, Adam Sandler was constantly distracted at ringside in case she made her presence felt. Fortunately for him, his girlfriend Kong had no such thoughts and was focused on her opponent, the tough and tenacious Rebecca Knox, who was giving up a lot of size to Kong.

In the end, Sandler did not need to worry. Laurer did not make an appearance and Kong eventually managed to get the better of the plucky Knox in 12:09 by pinfall. Amazing Kong makes defence number 6 of her PSW Women's Championship title. 64

The Followers (with Raven) v ‘The Informer’ Chris Hero, CM Punk & Matt Sydal

An intriguing match set up here where Matt Sydal was pitted against his former friend and tag team champion partner T. J. Perkins. With no disqualification in effect, this could go one of two ways… either The Followers would fully utilise this with their superior teamwork and chicanery to full advantage or CM Punk, Chris Hero and Matt Sydal would use the weapons that were plentiful in this match to their advantage.

While Hero, Punk and Sydal did use weapons, it was the three on one which counted in the end. With Punk and Sydal laid out on the arena floor, The Followers took direction from Raven at ringside and dismantled Hero in 10:33 when John Cena defeated Chris Hero by pinfall with a Spin-out powerbomb. 66

Cena and Raven have great chemistry.

Wyatt and Raven are an awkward pairing.

The Outlaws (Red & Daniels, champions, with Eddie Guerrero) v ‘Bad Ass’ Drew McIntyre & Stu Sanders

The Outlaws have been dominant as champions, winning impressively or by using under handed tactics. It doesn’t matter to them, they win and they stay champions. Here they faced a fan chosen team who used to run together in the United Kingdom stable a few years ago.

McIntyre and Sanders did work well together, but the champions showed why they are champions and took the bout in 12:12 when Amazing Red defeated Stu Sanders by pinfall with a Code Red. The Outlaws make defence number 4 of their PSW World Tag Team Championship titles. 62

Christopher Daniels looked good.

’The Outlaw’ Roderick Strong (with Eddie Guerrero) v ‘Highlight Reel’ Rob Van Dam v AJ Styles v ‘Grand Slam’ Kevin Steen

A fan created this four way that promised much excitement but didn’t quite deliver. All four men are former champions in PSW, in fact all but Roderick Strong have held the biggest prize in the company.

Much like Nattie Neidhart earlier in the women’s tag match, it was only man not to hold the main title that lost the fall. This happened in 17:27 when Kevin Steen defeated Roderick Strong by submission with a Crossface. Steen’s stock has risen a lot in the past year or two in PSW, and it shows no sign of stopping. 69

Jimmy Yang v Randy Orton

This was the only match on the main card that was not booked by a PSW fan. Most probably expecting a Jimmy Yang win here, his PSW record is very impressive, he was a very impressive World champion and still is a champion in a number of other companies. Randy Orton is not a man to be taken lightly. He is a dangerous individual, capable of beating anybody on the PSW roster and is not an easy man to beat.

Orton proved this tonight when he better Yang in 19:50 by pinfall with an O-Zone. 65

PSW WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP

‘The Outlaw’ Cade Thesz (champion, with Eddie Guerrero) v ‘Fabulous’ Colt Cabana

Cade Thesz has been a different man since returning to PSW. A promising talent in his first spell, he lost his way with his personality and was let go. In his time away from PSW, he has matured both in the ring and out of it and is a very competent wrestler. Colt Cabana is also very talented but is known more for his tag team prowess and this is his first shot at the PSW World Championship.

Colt wasn’t lying down in this one. He took the fight to the Outlaw and caused him a lot of trouble. Numerous times Cabana was very close to winning the belt which was as much testament to Cabana’s ability as it was to Thesz’s resiliency and tenaciousness.

In the end the champion was able to retain in 22:52 by submission. Cade Thesz makes defence number 4 of his PSW World Championship title. 80 – match of the night
