Only character I've ever had that asked for their release was Aldous Blackfriar. And that was because I pushed him as champion and he had an interview saying he was carrying the company on his back, which wasn't the case at all like with some guys that say that. So I had him drop the title and start jobbing to less arrogant guys. He asked for his release and I said no. Then he went and missed a meeting so I suspended him for a month. When he gets back he's gonna continue jobbing until I get all the Popularity out of him. Then when he makes another mistake he's fired.

I always have veterans at the top of my card to start off. That way they can have the first couple title runs or so and the young guy who catches fire can then earn it organically rather than being pushed to the moon before he's ready. Perhaps by being the veteran heel's lieutenant for a while before usurping him or standing in for the beloved face that got chased off the roster. Probably for being too expensive offscreen.

A lot of that is down to talent... if you aren't good enough for the main event, you're not going to be there anyway and it takes time to learn your craft.

For smaller companies I am far more flexible. I'm playing a CV97 RtG game and while I have Luis Montero on the roster (a legend in every way) my main champion for almost a year was someone with massive charisma who slid into a great antagonist role and could carry promos with anyone. He may not be the best in-ring (as far as I can see) but he still managed to deliver up to A rated matches with the best on the roster and regularly hits A* segments. He has lost the gold now to Luis Montero and may not be in the world title hunt again for a while as I add serious star power to the roster but his youth, his promo talent and his home grown status made him something different for me to make awesome. <img alt=":D" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png">

He never became a negative influence or disciplinary problem, but I swear he started off a humble positive influence the gradually turned neutral. Now that I've figured out who my mainstays are I'm gonna give people more organic pushes. I've got a guy whose abilities remind me a bit of him(strong entertainment/camera/performance, weak in-ring) serving as a lackey for Shady K's gang faction, jobbing to the stars, getting his successes in 3-4 on 1 beatdown angles, and the occasional entertainment angle where Bossman Brayfield hypes him as the future of the company.

Jack Bruce, American Machine, Frankie Perez, Bulldozer Brandon Smith, and Remmy Skye were my champions for the first two years. In this third year I've pushed some of my young stars to the belt like KC Glenn, Greg Guage, Aldous Blackfriar and Fro Sure.

I have a brand split by the way

For the most part, I tend to push those that I know how to book, regardless of their status as OG or import. (Of course, I'm much more likely to know how to book someone I've been using for years than someone I've just brought in, though.)

If I bring in a person that autopushes to ME, they'll probably do a few jobs to established stars (I'm a fan of debuting new signings as "mystery/surprise challengers" for titles and major stars, to keep my top people in feuds from being in the ring together too often). I hardly ever have a storyline planned out for a person when I sign them, so I'll usually feed them midcarders and jobbers or put them as tag partners for feuds to keep their momentum from tanking until I figure out what to do with them. If I bring in a person that rates lower, I'll use them like I use everybody else at that level. If it turns out I like the cut of their jib, whether because they put on great matches, I like their gimmick or their picture or name, or whatever, then I might give them a sustained push.

Regardless of whether they are homegrown or imports, I try to push people as organically as possible, but I'm also a sentimental woman who values loyalty, humility, and reliability. While I don't necessarily mind if a youngster tears it up and gets an ego, they'll get what I think they deserve or have earned. (A recent example: Veteran UM/jobber-to-the-stars, been with my company for years and approaching retirement. Thank-you push with a face turn, retired while holding top title. Her final match was a DQ victory over the person who won the vacated title at the next show.)

My criteria for pushing people are generally as follows:

1) I know how to get the best out of them.

2) I have a long-term plan, or at least an idea, of the direction I want to take them.

3) I like/respect them. (I don't care if you've got the best stats, destiny roll, and star quality in the world, I just can't get behind a push for someone I don't really want to see succeed.)

So, I guess the short version of my answer is while I tend to favor homegrown stars because I know how to use them, I don't immediately job new hires down the card or neglect them to a degree that would alienate them. Sorry that was so rambly.

I think I will run into this problem soon on my 198 game as WWF.

Due to certain original plans having to be scrapped it turns out that Bulldog is about to have a heel turn and capture the Heavyweight title from Hogan at the age of 24/25.

Dynamit as inured at start of mod and missed Mania so I kind of just had Bulldog floating around not doing much.. but he got over to Uppermidcard by himself without any sustained push of any kind and a few losses. I've not pushed him on from that he's not Main event level and being pushed up towards the 90's so he can defeat Hulkster.

I can see this having a bad effect on Davey Boy but I hope he proves me wrong and has a good attitude, His attitude and his performances will decide how long his reign is, as currently it's only due to be a couple months and will decide if he ever gets another reign in the next decade.

Bulldog to be the youngest ever WWF World Heavyweight champion
