Welcome to my first diary of TEW 2016, using PWG! I'm using the RWC starting in August, so our first event will be the Battle of Los Angeles. I will show you eight participants per day over the next three days, and after the full field is released I'll put up day 1 predictions. There are some things in the mod that aren't fully up to date, so we'll be going with what we have and not necessarily what happened in real life. Fresh of the heels of PWG THIRTEEN (one of the best shows in PWG history), we're going to go right into the most prestigious tournament in America. As a HUGE fan of PWG and regular attendee, I want to do this company justice and stay as realistic as possible so here we go!

8 more wrestlers will be unveiled tomorrow!!

For those curious, Zack Sabre Jr. will NOT be defending his title during BOLA. However, the board of directors will strongly considering a title shot for anyone who is able to knock him off.

<p>I demand Pete Dunne!</p><p> </p><p>

But Pete Dunne love aside, I loveeeee PWG dynasties. No better place to start than BOLA. As for winning, I really had Chuck Taylor pegged to win BOLA this year and then he wasn't announced so...LET'S GO DUSTIN</p>

<p></p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><span style="font-size:18px;"><strong>Previews and Predictions for…</strong></span></p><p><span style="font-size:18px;"><strong>

PWG Battle of Los Angeles 2016 - Stage 1!</strong></span></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p>

<div style=" border-style:solid;border-width:3px";"></p><div style="text-align:center;"><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

</div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><strong>Mark Andrews</strong></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"> [vs] </div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><strong>Chuck Taylor</strong></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Chuck Taylor comes into this one with a large winning streak, having not lost since Black Cole Sun occurred in December of 2014, and not lost a single match since the 2014 Battle of Los Angeles! Mark Andrews on the other hand, hasn’t been nearly as successful, winning only one PWG match in his career at All Star Weekend 12 vs. Evil Uno. These two have faced off before at All Star Weekend 11, where Chuck Taylor came out on top.</div></div><p></p><p></p><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

</div><p>

</div></p><p> </p><p>

<div style=" border-style:solid;border-width:3px";"></p><div style="text-align:center;"><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

</div><span>http://i.imgur.com/L0MuPmR.jpg</span><span>http://i.imgur.com/IHUA2cP.png?1</span><span>http://i.imgur.com/8RLBnbC.jpg</span><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

</div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><strong>Cody Rhodes</strong></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"> [vs] </div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><strong>Trevor Lee</strong></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Cody Rhodes finally makes his PWG debut! And he gets to cross one off his list. But can he beat the PWG regular Trevor Lee? Lee has been on fire as a heel the last few months and certainly will want to make an impression on those watching by beating Cody Rhodes. Both of these men know more eyes than usual will be on this match. Will Cody rise to the occasion and attempt to be the first PWG debut in memory to make a deep run in the Battle of Los Angeles? Or will Trevor Lee make a run after being a common prediction to win BOLA 2015?</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

</div></div><p></p><p></p><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

</div><p>

</div></p><p> </p><p>

<div style=" border-style:solid;border-width:3px";"></p><div style="text-align:center;"><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

</div><span>http://i.imgur.com/ugMBgCB.jpg</span><span>http://i.imgur.com/IHUA2cP.png?1</span><span>http://i.imgur.com/NUKEt72.jpg</span><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

</div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><strong>Super Dragon</strong></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"> [vs] </div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><strong>Andrew Everett</strong></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

The elder statesman of Mount Rushmore 2.0 returns to the ring in bigtime action against Andrew Everett. Dragon has been itching to come back ever since a devastating injury at last year’s Battle of Los Angeles. This time though, he’s competing for the whole thing. Will Super Dragon Destruction return or can Andrew Everett prove that he is the BIG DOG and finally live up to the level of his former partner Trevor Lee?</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

</div></div><p></p><p></p><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

</div><p>

</div></p><p> </p><p>

<div style=" border-style:solid;border-width:3px";"></p><div style="text-align:center;"><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

</div><span>http://i.imgur.com/mgQDWQK.jpg</span><span>http://i.imgur.com/IHUA2cP.png?1</span><span>http://i.imgur.com/oyjdRUV.jpg</span><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

</div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><strong>Kamaitachi</strong></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"> [vs] </div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><strong>Zack Sabre Jr</strong></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Kamaitachi made an impressive debut at PWG Prince, but does he have what it takes to beat the champ, Zack Sabre Jr.? Coming off a successful title defense in a classic match against Kyle O’Reilly, Zack seems to have all the momentum on his side to become the FIRST two-time Battle of Los Angeles winner. If Kamaitachi wins and impresses, he may get the match of his life at an upcoming show. Who will win?</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

</div></div><p></p><p></p><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

</div><p>

</div></p><p> </p><p>

</div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><strong>Sami Callihan</strong></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"> [vs] </div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><strong>Jeff Cobb</strong></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

It’s Sami Callihan’s first Battle of Los Angeles since he’s returned to PWG and he wants to prove that he never lost a step while he was away. Jeff Cobb debuted at Prince and lost to Hero, but stormed right back at THIRTEEN with a big win over Trevor Lee. Can Sami rebuild his status at the top of PWG, or will Jeff Cobb continue to build his?</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

</div></div><p></p><p></p><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

</div><p>

</div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><strong>Chris Hero</strong></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"> [vs] </div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><strong>John Hennigan</strong></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Night 1’s main event is a dream match of sorts, pitting the best in the world Chris Hero against one of the most exciting wrestlers on the planet, John Hennigan. Hennigan earned his fame in WWE before having a career resurgence in Lucha Underground, and is finally coming to PWG where fans have been clamoring for him for YEARS. Chris Hero is one of the greatest indie wrestlers of all time and is a frontrunner for wrestler of the year for his KILLER 2016. He’s never won this tournament despite being a three-time finalist. One of these guys has to lose, so who will it be?</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

</div></div><p></p><p></p><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Chuck Taylor continued his hot streak early by beating down on Mark Andrews, once he started playing to the crowd though, Mark Andrews jumped out and used the high flying assault that we hardly get to see from him in TNA. After a chorus of “F--- TNA” chants from the crowd, Chuck Taylor turned it around and nailed Andrews with an Awful Waffle out of nowhere to take the victory and advance to round 2 in 12:08!</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Cody Rhodes finally makes his PWG debut as he crosses two things off of his famous list, participating in BOLA and facing Trevor Lee. Trevor played an excellent heel as always after coming out to “Born in the USA”. He enticed Cody to come to TNA now that he’s free, which prompted a “Dixie’s F---boy” chant. Strong anti-TNA bias from the crowd going on early here. Trevor got his stuff in throughout the match but ended up selling for Cody most of the time. Cody wins in 16:35</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

</div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><strong>Super Dragon</strong></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"> [vs] “The Big Dog” </div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><strong>Andrew Everett </strong></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Super Dragon came out to a HUGE pop, it’s the first time he’s appeared since the 2015 Battle of Los Angeles, where he got hurt badly. Everett tried his trademark flipdogs but wasn’t able to beat Dragon, who seemingly had all the momentum on his said and beat the crap out of Everett.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

</div></div><p></p><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><strong> Winner: </strong></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"> Super Dragon</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><span>http://i.imgur.com/lzA7bdI.jpg</span><span>http://i.imgur.com/hp9OUvc.jpg</span></div><p></p><p></p><p>

Post-match, Adam Cole and Roderick Strong hit the ring to continue the beat down on Andrew. <strong>Roddy took the mic: </strong></p><p> </p><p>

</p><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">“A lot of you thought after THIRTEEN that I was gone for good, onto bigger things, but I can assure you that I will NOT leave until I finish what I started. <strong>Cole interrupted:</strong> “Well Roddy… we know there is only one longest reigning champion… And that’s Adam Cole” (the crowd yells Baybay but Cole flips them off and gives <strong>Roddy</strong> the floor).</p><p> </p><p>

</p><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">“Alright Adam… but until I get my chance at Zack Sabre’s championship, there will be no mercy on anyone in this company. Mount Rushmore 2.0 is here for good! We are finally at full strength again and tomorrow when the Bucks get here I highly suggest everyone hides, ESPECIALLY you, Zack Sabre.”</div><p></p><p> </p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><span>http://i.imgur.com/8RLBnbC.jpg</span></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p>

Roddy dropped the mic, followed by him and Cole holding Everett’s arms up while Dragon repeatedly delivers curbstomps. Trevor Lee comes sprinting out the back to save his former tag team partner, but gets met with a Superkick followed by a swift Sick Kick.</p><p> </p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><span>http://i.imgur.com/pjw79Fr.jpg</span></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p>

Dalton Castle sneaks up from behind though and hits a German on Cole! An overhead Belly-To-Belly to Super Dragon! Castle gets face to face with his opponent for tomorrow, Roderick Strong, before Roddy gathers his stablemates and heads to the back.</p><p> </p><p>

Kamaitachi showed flashes of excellence during his PWG debut a few months ago but couldn’t put it together to beat the champ. Sabre was in control the entire time and while Kamaitachi had his spurts of greatness, Zack hardly ever let him get away from the deadly submission game. Kamaitachi tapped at 15:16. Post-match, Sabre shook Kamaitachi’s hand and showed respect.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Cobb has been perhaps the most impressive PWG debutant this year, and this was yet another huge test for the big man against one of the long-time faces, Sami Callihan. This was a very back and forth match with a lot of action on the outside, including some brutal chairshots by Sami that Rick Knox decided not to call. After a match that couldn’t be more even, Cobb got the upper hand with an Athleticplex after 16:32. The two got a standing ovation afterwards from the Reseda faithful.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

After a hell of a match between Callihan and Cobb, it was time for the long-awaited debut of John Hennigan and the PWG mainstay Chris Hero. Hero showed why he’s the veteran of PWG by pounding Hennigan early, but the exciting offense couldn’t be held down for long when Hennigan got back into it and started a great match with Hero. The match ended when Hennigan reversed a rolling elbow by hitting a pele kick, followed by a moonlight drive. Hennigan wins in 18:05. Post-match, Hero looked defeated as this just wasn’t his year, even after being maybe the best wrestler in the world in 2016 so far. He bowed to John and left the ring to let John get a rousing applause. </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Perhaps the most famous match of 2016, it’s getting a rematch. Ricochet is looking to be the first two time BOLA champ and Ospreay is looking to cap off an amazing year with a big win. In 2014, Ricochet won the Best of the Super Juniors and then won BOLA, maybe it’s Ospreay’s turn to do the same?</div></div><p></p><p></p><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Kenny Omega returns to PWG! While this may just be a one weekend thing, he is also looking to become the first two-time BOLA champ. Fresh of a G1 win, he may be a little exhausted. Tommy End on the other hand, is looking to finally make a big mark on PWG. He’s had good matches here but has never been a star. Maybe this is the weekend that he finally turns that around.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Akira Tozawa makes his return to PWG, and Matt Sydal makes his attempt to spoil it. The only matchup of the night so far that doesn’t have a former BOLA winner, both of these guys want to make deep runs. Tozawa would love to return to Japan with the most prestigious American Tournament under his belt and Sydal would love to take this momentum with him and become PWG champion and perhaps win the upcoming Super J-Cup.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

KUSHIDA makes his debut in front of the Reseda crowd after a shocking announcement on Twitter! The reigning IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion wants to beat another member of the Juniors division, Trent?, and prove that he truly is the ace. Trent? Would love to take this huge momentum wave that he’s on and win this tournament. He’s had some great matches this year, including two Match of the Year candidates against Chuck Taylor at THIRTEEN and Chris Hero at BOWIE. </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

The Villain Marty Scurll would probably like a shot at his fellow countryman Zack Sabre’s championship. Many have considered Marty the odds-on favorite to win the tournament for a lot of this year, which puts Adam Cole in the unusual place of playing spoiler. Cole won this tournament four years ago become the longest reigning PWG champ, so like some others, he’d love to be the first two time winner. Is this Marty’s time to cement his main event status?</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Dalton Castle and Roderick Strong had a heated confrontation on Night 1 that would have led to a match at a show down the road… but luckily we get to have it tonight! Will Mount Rushmore 2.0 wreak havoc on Dalton Castle tonight or will they leave this match alone and let Dalton try to win with fair odds? Roderick Strong is hungry to regain his title and will stop at nothing to get it after losing it five months ago to Zack Sabre Jr. in an all-time great PWG match. BOLA is the first logical step.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Once again the Bucks are having a crazy 6-man tag with a Mount Rushmore stablemate, this time Super Dragon returns to team with them. Hennigan and Rhodes impressed in their debuts last night and Hero is an all-time great, so can this new alliance beat Mount Rushmore and take advantage of a perhaps-rusty Super Dragon?</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

I'm a fan of the writing style. Clean and easy to read. Glad to see Dragon and Mt. Rushmore causing havoc. I always thought they were going to do a Mt. Rushmore 2.0 vs. Team PWG match, loser leaves PWG or Mt. Rushmore gets disbanded type deal, but never did. I guess Dragon's injuries last year might have ruined that.

Hero and Scurll were two clear favorites to win this tournament, so after a disappointing loss they decided to keep the tradition alive and hold a 10 man tag on Day 3.
